I am Lilianne Abenstar, and I have been reincarnated into an otome game. The elder sister of the beauty of a man, knight-type capture target, and fiancee to the cool-type Duke’s heir capture target, I’m extremely busy doing bad things… though that’s a lie. I actually haven’t done anything at all. After the conviction of the felonious aristocratic ladies, I’ll properly pay for my sins, so please allow me to pass my time peacefully until then.

This story was okay. The MC didn't seem like she had much of a personality since she just wanted to get the storyline over with and live as a commoner. The story wasn't that eventful, in my opinion, it was more of a recollection of events and the ML explaining stuff to the MC. Also, there wasn't a lot of romance despite the romance tag. It didn't get interesting until the very end. However, I think the ending was a bit abrupt and there could've been more opportunities for romantic... more>> scenes. <<less

None of these reviewers can appreciate a good short story apparently. While yes I agree the ending left me wanting more, that's the whole point of a short story! The story itself was quite nice and flowed well, and the main character was quite mature and reasonable if not quite apathetic but prepared for her fate, which I liked because it's unique in the novels with running towards demise villain girls or trying to change their fate no matter what villain girls. Instead she doesn't try and run towards demise,... more>> but no does she try to stop her fate. The male lead is just a tad evil, but justifiably so and overall is not like other male leads who would ruthlessly kill everyone in the family for his treatment (a little because of the plot twist,
Spoiler

he's not even related to the family, his mom was evil and forced the MC's dad to take him in

Honestly, the story was short, enjoyable, and really good showing characters without revealing too much. It really deserves more stars! <<less

In defense of a flat character. Normal MC like this, who was quiet, simple, and mature is rare gem in literature. Majority of the characters in the novels were too unique (too clever, too dense, to powerful and etc) in their own sense and basically will just remind you at the end of the day that they aren't real (Sorry, I'm getting tired of them despite enjoying reading them). This kind of story, with dull but has a lot of sense character, is a breath of fresh air in a... more>> world where exceptional weird/super unique characters in fiction is remarkable; but detestable in real life.

Well, for the plot it is just really a -meh- to me. I just like the MC for her simpleness. <<less

It was decent. The MC was one who didn't want to trouble herself with things and stayed out of the way. Had a bit of romance and kinda a twist. I semi-liked it.

3 stars, Much better than the prequel but it doesn't stand on its own.

Once again a very very solid translation and a very easy read in terms of phrasing and word usage. In short, it goes down smoothly.

It's a rather nice take on resolving a forbidden romance, but there's just too much that isn't filled in without the prequel. Even with the prequel the MC's motivations are rather ridiculous and all the characters are more than a little off.

Bottom Line: Read both this and the prequel together. It's quick, confusing... more>> but a little fun. <<less

Aye, so, here's the deal. Our MC here is a reincarnated woman from her 30s. She's moderately chill, and I like to consider her mature. At least, she doesn't act reckless... at all. Nice attitude to have, and makes the overall pacing decent.

She remembers her life as this game she played before, cool. Like said in the summary, she has a step-bro and a capture target fiance. What intrigued me is her reaction to both: she ignored her brother while he's being bullied by the family (no ill intent at all, she just wants no troubles, and I understand that. Why bother playing hero when you'll just fall to ruin in the end), while she didn't really interact much with her fiance (guy had no appearances at all, actually).

So yeah, here's what happens next. She becomes a commoner and she applies for a house to work for and surprise surprise it's her brother. At first I was really skeptical, would this turn out to be another fairy tale princess-esque story with a deus ex machina ending? When the brother pulled her down I was this close to exiting the tab because I do not want forced love proclamations but... there was this decent exposition (I had hopes) then it---

It got back to the cheesy love proclamations. The "I've been looking at you for a while now" kinda thing. But hey, it's purely for self-indulgence at this point, and it has explanation even though we didn't see a build-up occur. I guess it's because there are limits with what you can do with a short story.

Pretty nice short story, I guess. Good thing to kill time with.

Oh... and it ends on a note that implies they hooked up. Like, literally. s*x and all, y'know?

7.5/10 for me, it's good for a short read!

the ML is kind of scheming and manipulative, do things without getting his hand dirty in my opinion haha cus im pretty sure no one except the MC know his scheming act 😃

she act like she didn't care and I thought she's really ignore and didn't do anything for the ML at all 😭 but she's literally didn't realize that she care for him lmao, tsundere girl I think

[collapse]

Spoiler

why did I think that the other guys is got mesmerized by her smile??, as the novel said I think the MC didn't smile often and always expressionless in public lmao

[collapse]

the ML actually not that bad cus although he put an end to MC family, the family still got a care protection
Spoiler

he got bullied by the MC family y'll, that's why I find him not that cruel as a yandere

[collapse]

also I really like how she give up when she knows she can't do anything else to escape from the ML lmao she just go with the flow~ 😭 I do find her unique, she's calm and didn't try to change the plot, just act like a tree in the forest without doing anything haha <<less

The translator is right. Somehow this is twisted, however, I like it. Perhaps, because of the short length, so I don't have to dwell on the twisted nature that much. But, I really did like it. Maybe, because I liked the narrator? I'm not really sure...

I read the MTL first then came across the new translation.

Lillianne is a great character. She has a fun way of narrating the story.

If you've read this before, I highly recommend rereading this with the new non-MTL translation.

The MC's personality really does shine through (she's pretty cool!), as does the flow of the author's writing.

A very good oneshot.

I think it's pretty good for a short story.

MC is simple, not bad or good. She is just watching how things happen.

There is a twist and a moment of "expressing my real emotions" (which could have been better worked out in my opinion).

Overall, it's a good story.

I'm not going to lie... this was not that great to read. The MC is a little flatter even by reincarnated flat stereotype standards and the twist was just... unsatisfying to the point of vaguely irritating in my opinion ... more>>
Spoiler

I mean, the first half is pretty much the MC being like, 'oh, I've done nothing and let this stepbrother be abused as I watched even though I know damn well he's going to grow up and kick us all out' and she feels incredibly guilty (as she should be) while making excuses that she couldn't help him because of consequences? This was annoying but it turns out that it was just a set up so at the very end the stepbrother could turn it all around and reveal 'surprise! Turns out MC was a good person subtly helping me all along and I love her'. Like, how did the MC not notice she was being nice? I don't- it's just this weird mix of passive proactiveness and it turns out she knew nothing and I-

Anyway, translation was pretty good and the story idea wasn't bad per say so I put it as 3 stars <<less

This is just not my cup of tea.

Spoiler

I just have big conflict with easily "befriending" someone who acted like a bystander when you are being "ruin". Alhough MC help in giving him food and etc, at most I could understand is forgiveness but "befriending" is something else. It's hard to explain it unless you personally experience it, so if you get what I mean and also don't like that just take this as a sign to skip this story.

[collapse]

I would rate it as 2 but this is because of my bias, so giving it a rate in between (3). <<less

Well, it's rare to see such an apathetic and easygoing MC who is supposed to be a villainess in the original game story. It's quite funny reading her inner thought thorough the story.

And wow, such a plot twist is really different from other similar story.

Spoiler

So, Yuri is not MC's half brother and he's actually the real villain here? I'm a bit confused.

A very good and cute oneshot. If author want to use this as a springboard for a lenghtier novel I would read it. It will be cliche, but I like cliche.
