Hello, I am currently translating this~

It's an interesting story with a crazed fangirl doting on her favorite otome game character after she reincarnated as a mob. It's an interesting and rarely seen, unique relationship because for one, the heroine Mariko is already head over heels for the love interest Taiga and is very open about it to him, even though he doesn't feel the same way towards her. But he keeps her by his side because of her almost worship-like love, and this weird relationship continues with romance slowly building... more>> between them.

Certainly, her worship-like devotion borders on creepy if you really think about it, but I think it's the same for super fans of idols or fictional characters. She's always idolized and loved him as a 2d character, but now that he's suddenly real, the level of her devotion can be understandably jarring.

Leaving this review to clear up some things about the MC. Sure, she's a legit fangirl who's collected all of ML's merch and celebrates his every birthday and holiday with a shrine. She has some creepy moments in her head when:

She fantasizes about living in ML's TV, wants to bottle up the air in his apartment, or thinks she's going to faint/nosebleed at ML's actions.

But it's all in her head, and it's (supposed to be) comedic. MC is a really sweet, talkative girl who would never act without ML's express consent. She's bursting with emotion—she cries, a lot. There's not too much detail on her previous life; she died in college and has been a fan of the game since high school. She does struggle with how to "fix" her 2D-worship of ML and adjust it towards the type of "normal" love you would express to a real, live 3D person. But she's overwhelmingly respectful of his boundaries:

MC turns ML down when he invites her over to her house for the first time because she's worried that he's not in the right frame of mind and doesn't want to take advantage of him. She actively avoids him in school after she uncontrollably confesses to him because she doesn't want to stress ML out with the intensity of her feelings. After that, MC only shares her feelings about ML when he asks her to. She doesn't grope him, follow him, barrage him with calls/texts, or take secret pictures of him.

The game/background sounds like Tokimeki Memorial — ML is a cross between Madoka Kijo (1st game) and Kouichi Sakurai (3rd story). ML drinks, smokes, rides a motorcycle, plays around with women (well, he used to), gets into fights, and has a rude mouth on him (no gas station job; he has money). ML is estranged from his family and has intimacy issues. If MC didn't know him from her previous life, she'd be too scared to approach him. He initially seeks out MC out of curiosity (like a toy to play with), but gradually begins to learn how to love.

There's a ton of little references to both TokiMemo and general otaku/internet culture. IMO laugh-out-loud funny, but mileage may vary. In keeping with the tone of the TokiMemo games, both MC and ML have amazing best friends that are very supportive. There are references to side couples where:

Other TokiMemo fans have also transmigrated into the game and attempt to woo their bias/target. There's a hilarious scene where the girls share their first reaction to seeing their bias in the flesh; MC isn't that bad in retrospect! For some reason there isn't a Reiichi Himuro (sob) amongst the targets but there IS a Kenta Taira (he's not a target, but when you see him... ah, truly a mob).

Despite everything, the MC and ML have one of the healthiest relationships ever, hands down. From the beginning, they talk frequently, honestly, and openly. They make some mistakes, but they also work hard on improving themselves. Misunderstandings don't stand for too long. Although MC has the mindset of "I'm just a mob character, " she's doesn't let those thoughts dig her into a hole and she takes initiative in the relationship (to the extent that ML would be comfortable with). It's a sweet and slow burn that starts to let off sparks just after the 1/2 mark. Note that there is an R18 tag for smut. <<less

It is true that MC was a crazy fan, even I have been creeped out by her high level of devotion and her repeated praises though its quite funny sometimes and she is still relatable in a certain degree.

For ML, he’s searching for acceptance and love. Its just that FL readily give it to him all. So may be that’s the reason that he’s not creeped out I guess?

Well, I kinda like it. The MC is your typical fan-crazed woman. I can totally see real world people in MC POV. That's how some KPOP fans do their stanning (no ill intention here) . I cannot really relate with the MC but I understand her devotion to her most love character. I will give it a shot as I love mobprotagonist.

I love descriptions and pov's!... yet I'm unable to like the lead (T~T) .

She talks and thinks too much to the point that impedes the plot to move on (a pace dragging filler). She worships the love interest like an obsessive cult member. No matter how underappreciated he feels... only a narcissist should be able to stand her!

This is a very cute story with no s*upid villain so you can enjoy this cute story without any blood pressure. Manga is also very cute. ML is good and FL is so cute. I don't like the ending it's like the author didn't have the energy to finish it. I hope someone translate the novel

I love it~~~~ the MC seems a bit over the top but meh :] Definitely not a realistic reaction from the ML when the MC does her over the top fangirling, but somehow I find it endearing lol, , hope it updates more ;w;

MC is a total creep on ML that I cant believe that he's not running away. In other otome genre novel Ive read, when an MC fangirls on their fave chara the way it was written was cute. This one though... it's a bit stalker-ish. Will try to read a bit more and see if ill change my opinion.

This novel is crazy, weird, and involves very heavy love. It's comedic at times and depressing at other times, but I'd say it's worth a go to see whether you like it or not. The chapters are long, too!

I love it so much!!! It's so cute but also funny, it's like all your fangirl thoughts being written out. I'm happy for her as a fellow fangirl to finally meet her bias.

I know there's a manga already up to chapter 7.5 but I really wish someone could pick it up because it's really the little conversations they have with each other that aren't shown in the manga that really makes me adore the two of their dynamics even more. But I'm thankful for the chapters already translated, thank you... more>> very much!! <<less
