Kim Dokja does not consider himself the protagonist of his own life. Befitting the name his parents gave him, he is a solitary person whose sole hobby is reading web novels. For over a decade, he has lived vicariously through Yu Junghyeok, the main character of the web novel Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse (TWSA).

Through Junghyeok, Dokja has experienced secondhand the trials of repeatedly regressing in time, in search of an end to life-threatening “scenarios” that force people to act out narratives for the amus**ent of god-like “Constellations.”

After reading 3,149 chapters—long after all other readers lost interest—Dokja finally resigns himself to the story ending. However, he receives an enigmatic message from the author, stating that the story will soon be monetized, before his surroundings suddenly go dark.

He swiftly realizes that fiction has become reality and he is now living through TWSA. Although he is the singular omniscient reader of the events yet to come, his success in the scenarios is not guaranteed—but perhaps his advantage will empower him to step into the protagonist role that never suited him before.

ORV is a pretty good story with pretty good translating. Its not hard to find all the chapters, translated into english at least. Its not great, but its pretty good. Comparable with "I Alone Level-Up" and "tr*sh of the Count’s Family."

What caught me by surprise, and isn't reflected in the Genre or Tag labels, is the amount of male-male "attraction." Pretty much, "Shounen Ai." Not Yaoi though, at least by chapter 229. There is also cross dressing and gender bending.

So if Shounen Ai bothers you? Don't bother trying to just... more>> push through and go read something else. Because it keeps showing up. <<less

Normally when main character (MC) transmigrate into a novel. The original MC will become a cannon fodder or super villain or just side character to be ignore. But Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint did not forsake the original MC. The original still detain his true-full position until the end. You can say that Omiscient Reader's Viewpoint have 2 MC. The transmigration MC and the original MC. This point making this novel as a one of its kind.

There's a part of me that wishes I never read ORV. Not because it was bad or anything, but because of the emotional rollercoaster this novel has put me through.

From the description/summary of the novel, you might think this novel is another one of those stories where the reader has fallen into the world of the novel they've been reading.

To be honest, the description was a bit deceiving and wrong. The reader does not fall into the world of the novel. Rather, the novel becomes his new reality.

This is not... more>> your typical novel, it's not until past the 100th chapter do things really pick up and you see what sets this novel aside from the others. The world the author has built and the concepts they thought up are truly astonishing. The author has definitely planned this out well and things from the beginning of the novel are brought up again. Just when you think the author has forgotten about the things they mentioned at the beginning, it's brought back out and used naturally.

Just when you think you've finally had everything figured out, plot twists come out to blindside you once again.

I ask those of you who are thinking of reading this novel to give it a chance and see where it leads you.

I look forward to rereading this in the future but reading the manhwa will suffice for now. I can't wait to see the truly epic scenes of ORV depicted visually.

Until then, YJH x KDJ forever. <<less

Those who wrote the review without reading until at least 100/200 should just delete their review cause they have not yet read and understood the true essence of the story.

My thoughts after reading: WEWWW what a journey binge reading this novel till 6/7am for 4 days straight!! It’s been a real rollercoaster ride and was straight up confused yet mindblowned by the ending. Character development is real good as it is evident how each of them has changed throughout the chapters. The world development was confusing at the end, but... more>> the plot somehow makes so much sense and just blew me away. 10/10 recommend and TRUST ME. It is not AT ALL any other reincarnator manhwa/novel out there. It is a whole new level of depthness and is really distinct from the whole OP protagonist who get all the extra bonus and profit and stuff. All in all, wow it is easily the best and most fulfilling (most completed) novel I've read. <<less

I often try not to read novels that are too long or complete due to me losing interest but this story was enough for me to break that habit. Probably my favourite story upon completing it and one of my favourites after. The concept and execution are both great

This is my first time leaving a review bec I JUST CAN'T CONTAIN MY FEELS. ORV is a hidden gem. Some people may think its some cliche trope but I'm telling you, its not. The plot starts at the very beginning and you won't understand if you haven't read the whole thing. Small details will later have big roles, and some things that you may think doesn't make sense will make sense later on.

What I love the most is ofc the characters and their development throughout the novel. I saw... more>> someone in the review says that side characters are unnecessary but that is not true. SIDE CHARACTERS ARE NECESSARY! They are not one-dimensional, they also have their own purpose and they are not just there to act as a foil for the MC. They well-fleshed, have emotions, and they are relatable.

I would love to read this again (like kim dokja) and feel the same rollercoaster of emotion. I want to fight with them again, smile with them, laugh with them, cry with them, and achieve the ending with them.

10000000/10 would recommend. <<less

First time reviewing a novel.

This is an amazing novel, sure some parts are inconsistent and force the logic of “it’s a novel world, it doesn’t have to make sense”, however, weirdly so, it does make sense in the end. It’s a paradox. Similar to that of a square circle, a paradox only realisable with words and can’t be superimposed with reality.

There are many reviews mentioning how the plot armour is too strong or Deus ex Machina running rampant, but my comments are to stick with the novel, and you will... more>> be surprised how these become actual plot devices and to the very end, affect the

I definitely feel like this is one of the best novels I have read in a while. I got into this because I was tired of waiting for new SCOG chapters and I'm really glad that I did. This is a gem, a diamond in the rough.

I have never seen a novel with such a well thought out plot and interesting characters! All the twists and turns made it so that I couldn't put it down until it was over..

Please do read this novel. It might feel like a classic... more>> trope filled novel in the beginning but before you know it you'll be s**ked into its world and invested in the characters well-being. It will definitely be worth your while.

Also if you are like me and like listening to background music while imagining fight scenes in the book then I'd recommend this song (Have you ever seen - GHOST ORACLE DRIVE, God Eater OST- https://youtu. Be/OsoK3LPzAO4) <<less

I've read 400 odd chapters

I've seen some reviews that have judged this novel based on only the first 20 chapters and I just had to sit down and type a proper review for the first time in my lazy life.

1. World building- brilliant use of imagery and expansion on what the "author" sets.

... more>> 2. Kim Dokja only knows the plot up until a certain plot. Afterwards, it's free real estate and he has to use his head.

3. Side characters are well developed and frankly lovable. You will see how everybody grows to become family and it really warms my heart.

4. The pure galaxy brain this author possesses when he links everything together and drops bombshell after bombshell.

5. Kim Dokja is a great character and is going to stay in my heart for decades.

Ok I really suck at reviews but yeah, this novel is pretty damn good. <<less

This is one of the best novel I have ever read. It’s the story of Kim Dokja who ended up in the novel he loved.
I have been hooked up during the whole time because the novel is very entertaining the characters are enjoyable.

There are not dull. We can see the process of evolution for every one of them and it’s was well done.

The plot is entertaining!! When you think it’s over, there is some more ! And still interesting.
Not clichee there.

Anyway, I enjoyed reading it.

The only thing I could say about this novel is that it was confusing as f*ck but pretty enjoyable nonetheless. The novel will explain everything you need to understand and tells you what you don't need to.

This novel was pretty realistic to the point of making fantasy seems like a balanced world of connected things. This novel shows how everything has its fair share of cause and effect called probability. Just because you're a guy with so much power doesn't mean you can do everything you want.

Honestly I didn't like... more>> the open ending since I wanted a decisive end but the story pattern seems obvious enough that the reader should be literally the one to read what it wants.

It also felt weird that even though everything seems so farfetched and magical, it still showed how realistic things could be. Until the end, the protagonist just couldn't be above consequences unlike the usual webnovels where the MC goes godlike and then end happily ever after.

I feel really conflicted if I would recommend this to someone. I bet each one of us who read this would have different perspective about this novel. It would be better if people would just coincidentally found this novel and have great amount of spare time to read this.

For me, this novel is a great hidden gem disguised as a common rock. Most people would probably drop it early or midway but I would be happy enough if someone could reach their own end on reading this novel too.

P. S

Am I the only one who's like waiting for just a little whip of romance between Kim Dokja and Uriel in the entire series? It never happened though so I'm a bit sad. <<less

This novel is about a person who loves to read, especially that one novel. One day he just ended up in the novel he loves so much, the sad part is that his novel is full of sacrifices. The world/novel he lives in now can be summed up with one word, a “novel”. A novel for the entertainment of readers, even though the characters are suffering. Kim Dokja (the mc) could be seen as the same thing as those other “readers” from a certain point of view, but that can’t... more>> be further from the truth. Kim Dokja loves his, yes HIS novel too much, after all it’s tailored especially for him. All the suffering and pain the characters should have bear were instead blocked by him alone. As I read this novel I feel waves after waves of emotion that rarely comes out in front of other novels. The whole journey was extremely enjoyable as if you are on a trip with a competent guide, the guide being the author. The world surrounding the characters, the thoughts of the characters were all laid out for us to read. Overall I love this novel a lot and I would highly recommend it. <<less

Wel, I just wanna say that I love this kind of story and I love cliches. The loyalty and fellowship thing makes my heart go crazy hehehe.

AH I just Love Uriel, she's so cute and I have to say I read this novel mostly beacuse of Lee Gilyoung and Shin Yoosung. I looooove how he goes and says Hyung every time and Yoosung's so pure AAAAHHH

Well I love the development and the more I read the more it frustrates me but I love it anyhow hehehhe. I recommend it 100%.

I had to say something since this story is approaching to an end.

This is my number one most favorite novel <3

And of course this is my own opinion and it's up for you to judge what you would believe this novel to be.

The MC of this novel is a average looking man who loves to read (as described in the novel). He read "Three Ways to Survive a Ruined World" and just so happened to transmigrate into the 'novel' before he had read the epilogue. This is all mentioned... more>> in chapter 1 to 5 so I don't consider this a spoiler.

Now this may seem clichéd but it's NOT. This novel is full with amazing twists and amazing side characters. Everything comes to life with the amazing world building and the complex layouts. So people may say it's fast paced but I would ask you to use the story's logic to adjust your mindset.

Although the MC starts out with the knowledge from reading "Three Ways to Survive a Ruined World",
Spoiler

it slowly advances from him reading the novel to solve future problems to using his own experience and brain to figure out what to do. One of the major changes in character development is probably him not using the novel as a guide anymore.

[collapse]

Reviews aren't my thing so if this sucks then that's too bad. However I encourage you to please try out this novel and judge it yourself, not based on anyone else's opinion.

Spoiler

There's a slight BL undertone. But there is NO BL (not that I'm against it since I'm a huge BL fan).

given I'm at the most Updated Translation chapter on where I am reading this. What Can I say This Book Is wonderful. But Like the MC I am a Reader it caught me from the start and kept me hooked.

The Story is awesome though it could get confusing at times given the rather Unreliable narrative, but that makes it more 'human' more like the Old Oral Tall tales and such.

The MC is interesting, a rat as hes seems to be nicknamed, scammer, smooth talker and yet horribly oblivious or... more>> uncaring of quite a lot of rather important things creating Misunderstandings or just little comedic pieces from it. The Protag is that face frozen never say anything Cool Type and the rest of the cast Are Awesome everyone has life even the slightly mentioned.

The Relationship Between the MC and Protagonist at the point of this typing and chapter translation. It is something like a Quasi Platonic or deep friendship or in some cases Frenemies I would hate to stick what they have in a 'box' till the very end of the story given the way the story keeps changing and sometimes subverting expectations.

It is a great story and If ever a Tv/Movie/Animation/ manga came out I would hope some loving Fan would translate it because I would Sooo Watch it/Read. <<less

Simply Amazing. Even though the protagonist knows of what will happen in future events, he does not spoil it, instead, he shows it.

This is the first review I’ve ever written but this story is worth it. I’ve actually read a lot of web novels but this one has hit all the points that I adore in a novel.

If you’re a fan of The Novel’s Extra I recommend this because of the similar plot line in that the main character knowns what they’re kind of doing with being in the situation of transmigrating into a web novel.

If you’re a fan of Solo Leveling I recommend because of the steady growth of strength. I... more>> love weak to strong tropes so if you’re into that you’ll love it.

The comedy element is an extreme plus and makes the grim atmosphere seem slightly less dramatic. If a story is too angsty I find getting tired of it much more easy, so the comedy keeps it fresh. I’m also a sucker for unreliable narrators. People who don’t understand their own strength or importance is another must have trope for me. The MC has some super loyal friends but he just doesn’t believe it quite yet.

The relationships he builds with all the characters are very interesting and none of them feel too underdeveloped. I’m very fond of his relationship with the story’s original protagonist, they have this whole frenemy thing going on which leads to some wonderful misunderstandings.

The main character doesn’t annoy me at all I like him a lot and his outlook on what has occurred to him as well as how he deals with all the sh*t that keeps happening to him. He does tend to go 0 to 100 real quick in some scenarios but it’s real fun to read it happen. He’s very clever which I always preferred over a character who is super strong and a skilled fighter. I mostly love his end goal, it’s nothing to extreme like world piece or selfish but realistic for someone in his place. He just wants to get to the end.

All in all if you’re into some adventurous character growth in a dark world that’s not too grim but has plenty of moments to keep you speeding through the chapters, I absolutely recommend this story. Don’t take it too seriously and you’ll have a great time. Happy reading! <<less

Its very good, its very enjoyable, 1 less star because I was annoyed with the involvement of the "Protagonist". The "Protagonist" is very very influential in this novel.

you know if in the end of the novel that those two dude, the MC and "Protagonist" get married I will not surprised

edit : ok so what I get is our MC is actually a side character. And the "Protagonist" is the Protagonist. So if u didn't like being side character you will sometime annoyed like me, maybe....

A total gem! It's a complex story that has all the characters needed and the plot to make them revolve. The MC, although a bit too OP at times, is quite normal in terms of looks and smarts. But his powers are totally off the charts. He doesn't realize that he practically stole the Real MC's spot though. And the BL hints that aren't actually real, make it all the more hilarious between the MC and the Real MC! ^^
