Just reread again and it's still top tier, moments genuinely had me laughing out loud.

Intricate in the way the main characters are already together for a decade once the story starts so the relationship does not really develop overall, but the story still works for over a hundred chapters.

As a summary, one can alternatively title this Reborn to High School with Old Nemesis and Now Husband, Now We Have Lots of Kids.

MC and ML used to be bitter enemies for years-- over a decade later, they managed to finally see face to face and get together, and are now on their way to another country to get married.

Then they somehow returned to the day that started it all: the time MC was supposed to give a speech in front of the student body as their high-achieving representative. That... more>> lifetime, ML started trouble, and the entire thing devolved into a fight that lost MC his guaranteed spot at a prestigious university and derailed both their lives, and their families'. This time, though, ML holds a speaker in his hand and--

"Lin Qian is the most handsome man in our school!"

They had years to reexamine their old wounds, and these days no longer controlled them.

But really, this novel is about two 30 years olds beating a choice selection of school dregs and becoming their Dads, dragging two of the worst 12th grade classrooms into being hardworking, studious students. The "dad" bit? Nah, they didn't give up when MC demanded they call him Dage as an apology, so naturally to let them go they have to call him Father.

The MC and ML of this story is incredibly refreshing. They're very hardworking, and especially even more when they also ended up helping so many people with their studies, which also helped with otherwise messy home lives. Initially the two sides of their friend groups thought the other was blackmailing their leader in some way, but after some time began to actually be friends with each other. MC and ML also get to realize that their blood feud wasn't purely just them clashing at first meeting-- and get to set things right, too. The maturity and new perspectives they gained over the years are precisely what allowed them to see such a different side of the story-- it's absolutely lovely.

But this novel is also really just.... it's hilarious. There's a lot of misunderstandings between the couple and everyone else, in different ways, some set-up by the couple and some not. Sometimes they would do couple things and wave it off as something else. Once found out, though, they just flatfacedly come out and PDA these people's eyes off-- truly psychological warfare at its most sophisticated. MC and ML know that they want to be together from the very start this time. They will do anything for it.

It's a good novel, without too much irrelevant high school dramas or out of place fillers. I'm very happy to give it a 5/5. <<less

This is a heartwarming story about two MCs working to absolve their previous lives' regrets. Unlike most novels where the transmigrated characters' mental ages regress to match the age of their bodies, they retain their maturity throughout the novel. Nonetheless, they aren't gifted with any super powers or cheats and have to work within their means to achieve their own goals.

The relationship between the two MCs loving and adorable. Both of them maintain their individuality and the author does a good job of making them into well-rounded characters. At the... more>> same time, it's hilarious to see their antics. While they don't explicitly announce their relationship, they aren't exactly clandestine. This separates their friends and families into the people who misunderstand and the people who wish they misunderstood.

Spoiler

Poor Xu Yao, Guo XinDao, Ke MuZi and Chen ShiYi, hahaha. Blinded by their overt displays of affection.

[collapse]

One of the things that this novel does really well is portraying a different side of divorce. Most of the time, when divorce is mentioned, both parties are pitted against each other as enemies. This is not the case in this novel. Zheng PingQing's mother and father realize that they weren't well suited for each other parted amicably. At the same time, they still respect each other in spite of their differences.

My favorite character in this novel is Lin Qian's older sister. She's strong-willed, independent, and can solve their own problems without anyone's help.

Spoiler

Like when she solves the problem of her cheating ex-boyfriend by beating him up and framing the mistress' older brother, hahaha.

I don't mind that the two are together from the start, I think it's a nice change, I just can't stand the constant misunderstandings. Instead of an idiot MC or ML, all of their friends have a negative IQ instead (it does succeed in making the MC and ML seem super smart in comparison). I don't find it funny, I find it annoying. Others are saying the misunderstandings get better later on but right now they're so frustrating I'm giving myself a headache trying not to grind my teeth. So,... more>> time to stop for a while and come back later. Maybe. <<less

Incredibly hilarious. There are a lot of really funny moments where I couldn't stop laughing, and my parents would give me strange looks when I go out of my room. I absolutely love that Lin Qian and Zheng PingQing's relationship is equal, without that overbearing gong + cute, submissive shou trope that is so prevalent in other BL novels. It makes their relationship feel grounded and "real".

it was lighthearted and beautiful story. There was no angst and all. They went back and fixed their regrets. I liked their friendship and their courage to confess this is my first time reading a story like this without fantasy, big villains and all that thing. It was refreshing but I would be more happy if it was a little longer or just few extra chapters about what happend to them and their friends after graduation

This killed me literally...

I laughed so hard... that I got cursed at by my grandma because it was in the middle of the night...

It's really funny... it wasn't revenge per say... even the did have their revenge however..

They didn't know who actually messed up their lives until after revenge...

Their coming out... is always mind blowing

Its like they are saying, " I'm telling you just for the sake of saying"... "it's not about whether you accept or not, you need to accept it"

You know how you get those rebirth stories where people go back and are determined to change everything that went wrong in their past, if people treated them badly they'll be just as bad or worse, they'll accumulate power and influence and their wrath shall rain down upon their enemies?

This is not one of those stories!!

Instead, you get two once-hot-headed youths who return to their high school times after years as an adult. Their characters have matured, tempered by life experience, and they have reached a stage in their relationship... more>> far removed from the bitter enmity of the past. So, when thrown back to those foolish and torrid times, we instead get to see a delightfully secure and supportive couple who have no interest in dealing with problems emotionally and childishly.

It's so satisfying to see a story like this that's not about s*upid love rivals and misunderstandings, nor is it about overdramatic plots and revenge plots. This couple faces the challenges of their past clear-headedly and it's so enjoyable to see everything get turned on its head by their confident, experienced and sensible approaches to things. It's also satisfying to see how this attitude affects more and more of the people around them, too, as well as how the story deals properly with their family issues. It's not a deep story, but it has enough realistic problems to save it from being too shallow.

It's a sweet, calming, sensible, satisfying read and I'd recommend it, especially if you're looking for rebirth and BL that's a breath of fresh air from the normal tropes.

EDIT: I noticed the other reviews about the annoying misunderstandings at the start, and they're fair comments. I really dislike those s*upid stories where everybody chooses to interpret the MC's behaviour as they wish. Like, REALLY dislike (I've even dropped stories for this, such as "Love Stops Rumours"). So, I also didn't enjoy that aspect at the beginning.

If you're struggling with that, it actually gets better much more quickly than I'd feared. While some misconceptions still linger for a while, they quickly become unimportant background as the main couple's reasonable behaviour starts to spread. This is just my opinion, of course, but I think it's worth sticking with for at least 20 chapters before you decide. <<less

I tried, but all the side characters are so ANNOYINGLY s*upid.

Even a simple greeting will make them think there's an ulterior motive. They see what they want to see and make things up to fit what they want. Just, ugh.

Honestly those who gave this story a low score and reviewed it bad are umm.........ಠಿ_ಠ

And if u see they didn't even read that much chapters to even properly give it a review. So all I wanna say is that ignore them and read this one without any hesitation. I love the characters a lot and the dog food was tasty. I love the relation between LQ and ZQP.

Very fluffy and happiness fulfilling

People are saying that it's a comedy but even not a single smile bloomed on my face? Am I the wall here? Maybe.
I found the story quite annoying to read, here are the reasons:
-The side characters have given too much occupancy. You wanna know about their relationship but instead, this book is about the misunderstandings of other people.
-In their other life, they were getting married, and now the MC trying to block ML's "naughty" moves until they're adults. That's such a boring letdown.
-Whenever ML tries to... more>> add color to their lives MC refuses it.
-I love comedy when it's within the reason. In this one however, it's connected to the constant misunderstandings.
Dropping this to avoid more irritation. <<less

I'm in love.

Already from the get go, I'm slamming my face onto my desk repeatedly--but in a good way!
Sweet, everything is too sweet I'm dying. Not only that, it's also funny; I love the peanut gallery.

Definitely recommend if you want a fluffy, heartwarming story and need something to make you smile.

I was a bit skeptical about starting this at first after reading the reviews about the misunderstandings and low-IQ friend characters. I am not a big fan of misunderstandings because it mostly leads to angst in stories. But I decided to give it a try after seeing how the majority of the reviews are positive and about how the misunderstanding are actually hilarious.

AND

It turned out to be the right choice because I absolutely loved it.

I really liked how the story starts with the couple already being together. After reading sooooo... more>> many rebirth-revenge-slow burn romance bls, this felt refreshing to read.

About the low iq characters part, I have read a couple of novels with brain-dead characters and logic-less plots. You really have to not use your brain to read those and even then they were painful to read. But this one, I just found it hilarious and not uncomfortable at all.

There were no big antagonists in the story and just a few small-time villains who were dealt with real quick. I did sometimes felt that the face-slapping was not enough and those villains needed to suffer more. But I also liked how the author made the couple enjoy their current life and prioritize it more than taking revenge for their past life grievances.

Overall it was a fun and healing read. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a sweet and humorous story while also having the elements of face slapping and power couple <<less

This is just pure fluff nothing more, nothing less.

As much as I like the main couple, I really enjoyed their friends. There's a lot of funny moments and misunderstading leading to hilarity.

There's only one thing that doesn't sit well with me, ML is already 30 (?) but still acting so childish. Lol I mean, he's so possessive and acting a little weird for his age, bullying and asking people around him to do weird things.

Anyway, if you're looking for fluff this one's for you. But this is not something unforgettable... more>> and life changing thingy. I would also not re-read this again.

Enjoy! <<less

This novel is such a fun read! What I like most about it is that although the main couple has their share of "face-slapping" and winning against old enemies, the story does not focus too much on the revenge aspect but rather on maturity and lessons learned. In fact, the premise of the novel is that the main couple now have a chance to re-live their regrets to live brilliantly.

I definitely didn't expect this much humor, but some parts were really funny, especially the couple's interaction with each other.

Shao SiJia, Lin Qian's older sister, is such a queen, and I really like her character. Her chapters are always really funny because she doesn't take anyone's bs and lives her life her own way.

Lighthearted, warm and funny. Love their sarcastic reply and the way they solve problem so slowly. A good read.

Due to their rebirth both of them were mature, understanding, handle problems cool headed, and they try to make up their regrets and reform their friends.

Love it. Plan to reread again soon.

At first, I couldn't believe how random it was, but I can't say I didn't enjoy it. I didn't stop laughing from beginning to end 😂.

I loved the relationship dynamic, and I absolutely adored their personalities. Friends and family were also incredibly funny. This is a great novel to refresh and relax. There is no angst or sad moments. It's good to read something like this once in a while. I totally recommend it!!!

This is a very funny novel with a committed, loving couple at its center. Being reborn into an earlier time in their lives, the pair have the advantage of foresight AND hindsight but reliving their lives better involves other people - and the events that result are both touching and hilarious. The author shows compassion for the struggles that many of the characters have had in the past and provides comeuppance for a few who deserve it, but the overall, the tone is mostly light. Reading this novel made my... more>> mood brighter, all the way through. <<less

I guess I'm among the minority that found the repeated 'misunderstandings' to be a bit irksome. At times I genuinely find myself wondering if their gangs' collective IQ would reach 3 digits.

I also find it strange how openly they seem to "scatter dogfood" while still in highschool. For a while I even thought it's a setting where China's at the juncture of- starting to accept homos*xual relationships but not marriage. But nope. That ain't it. They just don't care. I doubt how plausible this scenario is cause what's gonna happen... more>> if they're outed while they are still highschool students and
Spoiler

half step-siblings?? I don't know exactly what level of step-sibling they are but I can guess that they'll be having quite an awkward 'Talk' since the ML's mom has remarried MC's dad.

And MC's dad is a teacher at their highschool. It's not like MC hates him and is trying to fvck him over. No he's even actively trying to mend his relationship with his dad that's gotten strained due to him remarrying. But considering China's very conservative society, and with antagonists aiming to gain power and bring MC down and take over his guarented college seat by nook or crook, he'll most probably face a lot of pressure if they are outed.

[collapse]
Well except the 'double rebirth into highschool age' setting and an early romance I didn't find anything too novel compared to usual fluff highschool BLs.

Even so, the story is well written and plot flows well. And I guess the misunderstandings are starting to resolve and the comedy (that still stems mainly from the misunderstandings galore or existential crisis of the third-wheels) can be enjoyed if spaced out. It's pretty alright for a light read. I'll try reading it again later and see if it can change my opinion. But I'm pretty done with it for the time being. 😪 <<less
