Dropped at 107 ch

It started out well. It had interesting points and both main leads were likable. But little by little it started to go off course for me.

How?.....

... more>> - the time spent in the forest was interesting but then they arrived at a town and bought a house and they started to show less of their hard work and just tell a bit of what the ML did every day.

- the MC became completely useless, from the hard working and resourceful girl that survived in the forest for a few months to doing a bit of embroidery work to only doing whatever she wanted (as long as she didn't work hard) she became lazy... there was nothing for her to do, no interest.

- I understand the inferiority the ML felt being an orphan turned assassin marrying an obviously sheltered young miss and living in the countryside, I understand his need to provide for her and not let her regret choosing him, BUT it became exasperating... I wanted them to talk to each other about the housework and how they should do it together as a family. But that never happened she just let him do everything and felt a bit bad about it.

- the contradictions and senseless stuff kept on getting on my nerves. The author kept on forgetting things that had happened or the way things were that it threw me off every time.

- everything was just too easy, they didn't have to work hard for anything.

- the MC's family, when they appeared, I didn't like them that much. Her father was the worst.
Spoiler

(Who actually believes that the way to mend your strained relationship with your wife is to get a lot of concubines and chamber maids and have 9 more daughters with them, along the course of SIXTEEN YEARS?)

[collapse]

So this is as far as I go, I saw the main leads marry have children and solve their unfinished businesses... I don't really care what else happens. <<less

This is a very fluffy story of a cute couple. Just for the readers who say there is barely any plot, keep in mind that this is a slice of life....

Anyways, although I am the translator of this series, I tend not to read ahead. So I'm just as blind as ya'll.

The first chapter is a lot of information, but after that, it's just a simple novel. Enjoy!

I just finished this story from raw and I 100% recommend this to any readers out there who like romance and fluffy story.

I like how loyal the ML is to the MC. How sweet he is to her and even though he don't know anything aside from killing, but for her, he learned how to cook (they said that he cooks like professional), how to farm, and even turning his back on his own riches (the money he accumulated for being assassin) just to make hersure happy.

There might be times... more>> that there are misunderstanding due to him, who don't know how toto express his thoughts and feelings but overall, their story is satisfying.

Their romance is smooth sailing, like they really don't have love rival (the only was Lu Wan'er but she really did nothing, she's more like an *insert character* in the story), and even though knowing their family background, their family allowed them to continue their love.

If you will ask me what is the thing I don't like in this story is most chapters are about them eating here and eating there hahaha maybe the author loves to eat, right? XD

I think this story should be R-15? Well, at first there is no mushy wushy part but when their children born, there will always part where they always have intense scene xD

Spoiler

a little bit spoiler about their life background.

The MC was actually long lost daughter of a king (?) /prince, a relatives of the emperor (I'm not quite sure what their status is) while the ML is a long lost son of an emperor of other country, I think he is supposed to be the crown prince but he doesn't want to be a prince and still remain in the small town/village where they stay.

They will have three children: Lin Long and Lin Xiao are twins and Lin Xi.

Lin Long even she's the only girl, she became the successor of their assassin group (i forgot what it called).

Read if you like:

  • Slice of life (seriously, there was one chapter that just described their newly renovated house)
  • No love triangles (at least, none so far... *crosses fingers)
  • THE FLUFFIEST CUTEST COUPLE EVER
  • Tsundere male leads (watching the ML slowly melting into a puddle of fluff was literally 80% of the entertainment)
  • Nice, but no-nonsense female leads
Don't read if you don't like any of the above.

But seriously, I urge you to give this story a try! It's not a martial arts story where the transmigrated female lead gets revenge on her... more>> entire family. It's not one of those cultivating stories where the transmigrated female lead has insane cheats and a spirit beast companion or two. What this is, is a heartwarming story about a girl who only knows how to embroider and an assassin who only knows how to kill, and how they fall in love and live out the rest of their days together.

This is the mac and cheese of stories, it's an afghan blanket in a dark winter night, it's chicken soup when you're running a cold.

Oh, and did I mention they have two pet snow white wolves? They're the cutest balls of fluff ever, because of course they would be. <<less

Ay... I thought this story would have more realism or farming/building aspects than it actually does.
(╯≧Д≦)╯︵ ┻━┻ #disappoint#

But if you like fairy tales...

Basically, this is a very very very sugar-filled slice-of-life. It is not really about farming, there isn't much plot either. It is simply about a beautiful girl with the best embroidery skills who gets together with a handsome man with the best martial arts skills. Oh, the girl is transmigrated. But anyway, they move into a village and live a very very very fluffy and romantic... more>> life in harmony with pretty much everyone.

Don't get me wrong, fluff is great. But this novel is such an unending river of syrup with nothing to mix it up, readers might need a break now and then to rescue their rotted teeth.

Also I think the romance resonates better with younger readers, because you have moments like this:

Spoiler

MC feels insecure because she's been told that her personality is too low-key and unattractive to men. So MC wants to ask what the ML likes about her.

ML: "You don't know how beautiful you are."

.... wow not SHALLOW at all. Physical beauty is everything!!!!! (Yes, in Chinese, "beautiful" refers exclusively to physical appearance. It is not a metaphor for something deeper.)

[collapse]

Since there are no obstacles, the main couple pretty much get the best furniture, fix up the best house/scenery next to the best part of the river, basically achieve the best possible outcomes with very little effort. The guy's martial arts are so outstanding, just like a fairy. He can leap 15 meters in one jump, "cut" down an evergreen tree with one strike of his bare hands, and carry back a wagon-load of tree trunks from miles away (without the wagon) in a few hours.

I wish there was some comedy to cut this up... <<less

Spoiler

+He doesn't let her work in the house even she insists. When he wouldn't let her do chores (like cooking, a lot of cleaning, etc, etc) she gave up and explained herself by saying that a man who does that deserves devotion. She was fierce the first time she met him and then never fierce again smh. Am I the only one bothered by this? As a person who likes to clean and help my spouse, I'd be pretty annoyed but after being 'insistent' for a single chapter or two, she gave up and then justified herself for quitting.

+She makes really, really, really dumb decisions. Even as a spoiled lady, I'm pretty sure you can recognize the fact that since your husband used to be an assassin, he should have assassin friends right? NO! Just let that 'friend' of his waltz through the door because who cares, amirite????!! When an assassin knocked on her door telling that he was an old friend of her husband's, she doesn't even doubt him, she just lets him in. If something had happened, I probably would've dropped the damn story sooner but thank heavens.

+He keeps things from her. They're all 'let's be honest with each other' and then several chapters later, he doesn't tell her that those 'friends' were his colleagues, doesn't tell her anything about her identity as someone famous and wanted and purposefully withholds information from her. It's not protecting her if she needs to know it.

+Also, she's fifteen and pregnant!!! Does no one else find this appalling?! I get it, it's set in Ancient China but you couldn't make her two years older??? Why is this grown *ss man doing the do with a teenager?! He's twenty-three and she'S FIFTEEN I'M GOING TO HURT SOMEONE!!! Why is there the need to be such a huge age difference?! No, I don't care if she might be older in her past life, her body is still fifteen and he thinks it is.

(Some small things: she found an OP liquid that was named about fairies but she doesn't use it anymore after she healed the ML. It's nearly never mentioned again. Another is the Wolf King. I dunno if it's going to change but it really makes me wonder why the f**k he's important because he just made the MC's wolf/dog pregnant and that was it, I'm so confused. The last one is about the fact that there's basically no face-slapping. The MC gets tricked or harassed kind of easily and it makes me wince.)

[collapse]

But anyways, there are some good points too, even if the bad points stained the whole thing for me.

Spoiler

+Personally, I like the peacefulness of it. Some would say that it's boring but I think it's relaxing.

+Love, love, love the fact that there are female friendships! Some of the characters' thinking is really logical, like how a woman inconvenienced the MC and then realized it and berated herself because she (MC) was a newlywed. Honestly, felt like it was great that we had some female friendships and not everyone is out to get her.

+They're really sweet together, even if he lies to her. You can tell they care for each other, even though it all happened hella fast.

+It happened hella fast. That was better than them still not confessing after three lifetimes, seven hundred chapters and five novels but I also would've liked it a little more if they had spent more time together. They confessed their love/got married (I can't remember tbh) in less than 20 chapters.

+The villains (I think it's only been a small gang and a jealous girl so far) have all been dealt with and easy to deal with but I feel like more is coming. There isn't any unnecessary drama but sometimes, some of it can get ridiculous. Proceed with caution.

+The MC isn't too badly OP. She just has good embroidery skills and a few others. Her husband is a different case and I don't want to think about him.

[collapse]

And of course, I've only read to about chapter 83 so I don't know if it's going to change but my review is for you guys to see. I rated it pretty low because I got very irritated as I was reading the last few chapters before I dropped it.

This should be used to pass the time. Try it if you want! There seems to be conflict in the future so you can get ready for that. <<less

This novel is so-so for me. It's pretty boring even for a slice of life story. There's no tension at all, and there are tons of details that don't add anything to the story.

I expected it to be similar to Fields of Gold with romance added in, but so far the MC and ML have no ambition to move up in life. It's really too monotonous for me.

Im already in love with this novel, it reminds me of another story called Kanata Kara which I adore.

MC is from a prominent family with unsurpassed skills in embroidery as the synopsis detailed, after becoming a victim of foul play she is reborn into another world where fantasy like creatures and people with powerful abilities exist.

Level headed, taking a pragmatic approach she ventures forth with very little and encounters many interesting and unusual things, her meeting with an injured man sees her connect with him in ways we are still... more>> yet to uncover :D

I enjoy the interesting characters, and since there are only 2 so far I look forward in seeing them both develop :D Su is very adorable, a floofy kind of character that is endearing with her ability to be positive and ready to get things done. Lin is the silent brooding type that seems at odds with this inner self, this guy needs to be more honest lol.

Su has 2 other companions that you will learn about as you read the novel :P so far there are only 9 chapters, hopefully we will see it spamming the Novel updates with multiple chapter releases! One can hope!. <<less

UPDATE CH.106:

Sadly, this novel has lost all interest for me. Once the main characters move to the town, they never again experience any difficulties, challenges, strife, or even emotional distress. Everything comes super easily to them. They can grow plants, build houses, start businesses, etc with zero experience and zero problems. Everything they ever find will be a treasure. Everything they ever do will be successful. Everyone they ever meet will love them.

Also, the FL is super spoiled by the ML, and she loses all of her independence, motivation, and... more>> intelligence. (Not even kidding -- she chooses to stop thinking or making any decisions at all.) The ML is no longer conflicted, and he overcomes any dangerous events easily, while never telling his wife anything.
Spoiler

(For example, the author entirely skips over a moment when he falls off a cliff and is presumed dead -- there are zero descriptions about what happened, the FL barely notices, and he comes back the next chapter totally fine with no explanation.) Oh, and it's revealed that the FL is royalty. But there is zero drama involved there -- they just get a ton of money, new extremely loving relatives, everyone instantly accepts them, and there are no worries about their new role or responsibilities.

[collapse]
Basically, this story is a totally unrealistic, fluffy, slice-of-life story where the main characters are loved by everyone, have some of the best luck in the world, and they are rich people living a super easy "slow life" in a poor town.

UPDATE CH.50:

As of chapter 50, this story stays at the same pace: slow. It is truly just a slice-of-life story in which their daily tasks and necessities are described in extensive detail. To be honest, while this story isn't bad, it has long lost any interest for me. I will probably drop it soon if there's isn't any excitement or change soon.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

This was a very pleasant novel. Reading it will put you in a good mood. Can't wait for more!

So far, the tone and genre are mostly slice-of-life and romance. The characters are pure and honest, and so far the story hasn't had much strife. It's just a reincarnated girl and a former assassin starting a new life together -- traveling out of the forest, finding a place to stay, moving into a house, figuring out how to make a living wage, etc.

If anything, the only critism that I have is that some things go too smoothly/easily (a bit hard to believe) and that the two main characters are almost TOO pure. They're so honest and shy and sweet that it'll give you diabetes. It's definitely not just mindless fluff, though... It's easy to accept that maybe, they're just good people.

I can't help but predict that something dramatic is on the way (will either character's past life come back to haunt them?), but for now, things are just nice and simple.

The pacing of this story is good -- not too fast, but also not too slow. Although only 29 chapters are out at the time of this review, it still feels like quite a lot has been done.

The translation quality is also very good. Smooth English with little to no grammar mistakes.

If you're in the mood for something light and simple, give this a try! <<less

Hi! Pure here~ I'm the current translator of this novel. I've actually already completely translated it hehe.

Anyways, I've always liked this novel and was very sad when MissQ dropped it and then there were some inconsistent updates, so I took it upon myself to finish translating Assassin Farmer. I've seen some recent reviews about how nothing happens, but please keep in mind this novel is a Slice of Life! It's really slice of life, there's going to be some drama, but very little and will never blow up. So if... more>> you want to read angst, this novel isn't for you.

Otherwise, this novel is literally all fluff. The characters are a bit OP, but they only use their skills to events and people who affect their lives directly.

Spoiler

As this novel wraps up, everyone gets an happy ending, and their children will be featured in the extra chapters. In my opinions, the ending extras are a little rushed, but it does wrap up everything. It's a similar ending to rebirth in the sixties.

[collapse]

edit edit: thank you custodiom for your constructive feedback. I went thought every single 'next' directory and relinked the three that were indeed mis-linked. I'm sorry if the translation was a little difficult, I think with picking up from another translator may have also made it hard for me to transition, maybe terms were translated differently, etc.... But if you see anything in the chapter that's confusing, just comment on the said chapter, I'm always here to better my work! Thanks!

If there's any similar mistakes feel free to just comment on the page, it just makes it a little easier for me instead of shifting through all 200 pages haha. <<less

3.5 Stars - Dropped: C111

Overall

Well, the beginning when the MC was stuck in the forest and had to rely on herself to survive was a pretty good start. Even until they all started building their houses, it was nice because they were learning and developing their feelings for each other. And the whole embroidery was interesting too. Then, well, it got kinda boring because it felt like nothing was happening anymore. From some reviews, I thought there was a chance they would be selling some stuff because they said everything... more>> they did would succeed XP. The MC becomes someone who just lies in bed or goes to the room to embroider or casually read books. The ML will go and do everything else. But we don't really get the details of everything else. Usually, we just get a narrative that he does this and this and this daily. Even the bad guys don't get a satisfying faceslap on screen but off screen. We only know this after the fact. The main face-to-face isn't completely shown and concluded. Then, because the ML doesn't want the MC to do any kind of labour at all, the MC became the most useless character in the story. Sigh. She's no fun anymore. Her only skill, embroidery, doesn't get used anymore except as a hobby and so we don't get any interesting knowledge about embroidery anymore because it's just shown in summary that she embroiders for fun every day and that's it. Then, the MC's body background is too OP. I find the mew characters kinda annoying because they are just pushing their own ideas without considering whether their presence is even wanted. I mean, since the body has run off to this quiet place and never went back, isn't it obvious she likes it there and doesn't want the complexity of these rich people? Gosh, when all those servants kept coming to their house, that was annoying. And then, I stopped at this part because I'm just not interested in this new direction of the story. Not interested in the new family at all, zero. I would be interested if there was some family drama but the faceslapping isn't really satisfying so even if there was some drama, I'm not really motivated to continue sigh. I wish they had worked harder for money to do things with the land instead of conveniently having a large amount of money to do all the things. Then, all these cool things being done would feel more earned and fulfilling.

Writing/Translation

The translation I read is from Pure Love Translation. I think it's pretty good. Very minor errors that I can see. Lots of enthusiasm in providing footnotes and links to images of culture.

Pacing

It's slice of life so it's a little slow. Lots of lovey-dovey in the middle scenes too.

Plot

The first 100 or so chapters are just their life in the village, plus lots of romance between the couple. Have some farming, normal villager relationships and some embroidery. Then, some drama with the assassin part of the ML's life. After that was mostly solved, then there was the past of the MC's body and her old relatives came to find her. After that, I stopped because it seems to be some country battles which I'm not interested.

Themes/What Story Tried to Achieve

One of the selling points of the story is the setting imagery right at the beginning! We follow our cheerful and innocent MC from the 1920s back to an ancient era. When I see all her reactions to the environment and how pretty it all is, I just can't help imagining beautiful oriental fantasy-like surroundings, something like from Okami haha. I think it's because the body she transmigrated to was in the middle of a large forest, then she lived in a cave for 3 months and finally travelled to the village to live. This gives me time to appreciate the beauty from afar. In other stories, the MC directly appears in a dilapidated house in the village and we are thrown into the setting right away. Sadly, after this, it just goes back to a normal web novel story. Not much pretty imagery happens after that. Maybe during the house renovation only. After that, nothing.

I was actually looking forward to how they were going to make an income because I find that the most satisfying part in these types of stories. Sadly, after an interesting start, it fizzled out to barely a mention to none at all :)

As for the village drama and relationships, ehh, kinda average for this level. Which means, not really good. Actually, since they live further out and are more isolated, there isn't much drama at all to spice things up. And since the MC doesn't farm and stays at home all day, it's kinda boring at her end. The farming part is all done by the ML and not much detail is there either. We just know he does it all, but we don't feel it being done if you know what I mean.

Characters

Sigh, they are all kinda meh for me. No one is particularly likeable. The ML had some potential because he blushes and is a little shy with his wife

but he uses martial arts to prevent blushing so most of the time the MC doesn't know so what's the point? Then, when the MC realises how he really is later on in the marriage, well, she's too weak to do anything about it. This novel follows the typical old-fashioned and outdated boy-girl dynamics. This is the other extreme of dote on the girl so much she doesn't have to do anything. And have s*x like bunnies! And show the next day how "injured" the girl is because of the activities! Or that the girl doesn't want the boy to "suffer" from not doing it, so how can she "help". Ugh.

The other point is the MC. She's supposedly 20 years old but she's so innocent, pampered and treated and also acts like a little girl with the MC. He doesn't allow her to do anything so it's like she doesn't do any adulting. It doesn't help that her attitude is to always yield to the ML because she doesn't want his "punishment" *blushes shyly*. Ugh. She had so much potential at the beginning too. Especially in regards to embroidery where she gained so much experience during that 3-day session. Too bad we never went anywhere with it. The ML treats her like a pet in a cage and she just goes along with it.

The side characters feel kinda flat, especially the villagers. Just like a normal village friend prop for the MC to propel the story. The rest are varied but they don't feel particularly real. No depth to them (at least I don't feel anything for them) either. I also have an issue with the disciple of the ML, they keep mentioning him as mentally 9 instead of 13 and all that jazz but I honestly thought he seemed like a perfectly normal kid. No idea what they're talking about. Then after the blood clot dissolved, he supposedly became mature and sensible but for me, it just felt like a complete personality change instead? It just seems like before he was that mischievous, witty kid and after, he's a mature, filial kid. No mental disability stuff that was there and fixed or anything. There was such huhaa about it too.

Quite a different premise to all the Reincarnation plots. Unlike others who come from either the same world setting or a modern time, the MC is from the 1920s with the unusual background as an expert embroider. The chapter lengths are a decent length, and the translations are smooth. It is a bit of a slow start because the author really takes the time to detail what happened. I hope to read more in the future. Hopefully, a permanent translation group will pick up this project soon.

This is an adorable slice of life, transmigration novel. The story revolves around a transmigrated MC and an ex-assassin ML. ? At first the ML is a silent and unfeeling iceberg, but he gets exceedingly warm (only to the MC though) as time passes by in the novel. The author's writing style and the translator's awesome translating skills makes you feel as if you are inside the story. In the first few chapters, it will be a nice, house-building life, but in the later chapters the drama begins, so the story is a good mix of fluff and drama.

The MC and ML's interactions are quite adorable, and because they are really sweet, it makes the reader eat dogfood. Just be prepared to get diatebes because of their sweetness. ? Major Spoiler Incoming
Spoiler

Though at the end chapters, the MC and ML will switch worlds, so the ML will be the new transmigrator.

The beginning was good. It was an easy read, slice-of-life type of story mixed in with a little bit of fluff, but then the MCs turned into Mary Sue and Gary Stu and their lives got all epic with their heavy/strong family backgrounds and capabilities! If the author kept the characters as simple, regular people, then the story would have been more believable and grounded. Towards the end, there were too many characters that were introduced who received their own omake without proper back history. So when reading their stories,... more>> I wasn't really engaged 'coz they were just names. The author should have expanded on the characters that were already introduced at the beginning and middle of the story (i.e., the disciples Dabao and Situ). Overall, I gave it a neutral 3 stars -- it wasn't bad, it was just OK. It had potential, but the author overreached in making it a feel-good type of story, I got bored in the end. <<less

A very cute but dragged out story. If you're looking for something to take up time while reading something nice, I recommend this.

Honestly, it’s a bane that this below average novel has a 4+ star rating NU.

Because people like me might trust in this rating and start reading with high expectations. Only to end up reading... well, ‘Assassin Farmer’...

TBH I am kinda surprised this novel has a rating of 4.5. Like its a 4.1 at best and personally I'd give it a 3.9-ish.

Just a disclaimer, I've always been a fan of slice of life novel and have read some really good ones too. However, this one kinda fell short for me for some odd reason.

The novel was actually well written and with an interesting world building and character backstory. Full general plot flow below:

Girl from the Republic of China transmigates to ancient times into a random jungle and found two wolf pups and lives together with them coz she didn't know how to get out of the jungle. One day, she saves an assassin who was hunted down by his organization (because she wanted him to guide her out of said jungle). In the end they did end up outside the jungle, was misunderstood as husband and wife and they eventually confessed to each other and get married. They fell in love and the assassin sheds his previous identity to lead a simple life. This was good backstory and the outcome of the romance blossoming was expected.

The girl had a some amount of money on her so they decided to live in the first village they stumbled upon when they exited the jungle. After their marriage came their very leisurely life in town with little to no drama because everyone was low-key scared of the husband. FL got pregnant.

Then came 3 of the ML's ex assasin buddies whom he was bros with back then (and one of them even being the one tasked to hunt him the day the FL saved him). They saw that he was happy so they wanted to settle down too and also the organization was going downhill coz of the new boss. They defected and defeated that nonsense boss (with barely any action mentioned in the novel) and officially took over the organization.

Somewhere along the line, it was revealed that the true owner of the body of the FL was from a noble family and said family came to find her. They reunited and the FL accepted the parents and the bro. FL gave birth too.

Then came a sudden potential invasion from a stronger neighboring country. In it the end it was settled and it turns out that the ML was actually the neighboring country's crown prince that disappeared. Yadayadayada. Started a business empire too.

Some stuff also happened in the capital and in the end, they separated from the country and become an independent state (I was reviewing fresh out of reading then I forgot that I was reviewing so now I'm back and kinda forgot more detailed parts of the story so I yadayadaed it).

[collapse]

Soooo, the whole novel had literally no drama at all. No familial drama coz they were both "orphans" and no love rival drama (OK there was one but basically it's all one sided drama in her head going going on and the FL did not even talk to her much). Everything was settled quite peacefully. The business management aspect was rather mild (though it became a big aspect in making the independent country successful) and the utilisation of her embroidery skills was only at the beginning. So, peeps looking for dog blood drama and business management/ career building novels this may not be it for you.

Now on to the characters... There were too many for me to remember 😩😩. I don't know whether it was the translator or the author but some of the same characters name kept changing. It was so a bit messy there. Anddddd later on at their children's stories (I love authors who made this section), I literally had to type out who was whose child hahahaha.

I'm not gonna talk about the side characters because there were too many but imma review the main leads.

So the ML was a good one. He isn't the typical cold ML (OK maybe he is buttttt). The author gave him emotions. Not just pampering love for his wife. There was past abandonment issues that were addressed and his feelings towards his parents whom he had never met was touched on too. There was also somewhat of a love for his friends. So, he was a nice change for a ML.

As for the FL. Wells, when I was like 10 or 20+ chapters in, this was my review of her:
Ekks it's a weak, naive, kind, silly, sweet FL. Damnnn she's putting the name of all the genius eldest miss's to shame. Wininy, spineless and self-doubting lil thing. "Ah" here, "Yah" here. Yucks!

But after reading, I got over the initial ekks. As the story progressed she became less ekky and became the gentle and kind FL.

One thing I'd commend the author for is her ability to give each side character a personality. Like every one of them had a personality and it was a copy and paste personality so that was good.

One thing I didn't really like was the nonsense blossoming of love for each character. I love that the author wanted to give every one of them a happily ever after and a partner but the way she did it was crap. Like literal crap. It was rushed and had no build up. I get that there is a back story there that that was hinted an vaguely touched on but the chemistry and execution was soooo... And I feel that the reasons for the guys not wanting to be with the girl was nonsense and how they got over the hurdle was nonsense too. So yeah hehe.

Overall, honestly it was a nice read it's just that it's really not a 4.5. Great if you enjoy fast-ish pace, hidden background/ identitiy, fluff, child care (?) / pregnancy, no drama and glossed over plot and general life and interactions. Not recommended if you're looking for an action packed farming novel with palace drama, familial drama, villager drama, business/career development and we'll developed plot. <<less

FL has no self preservation skills in her body, and is described as gentle and sophisticated, but in actuality she's really just a bland one-sided Mary Sue character.

ML is described as this cold, outstanding assassin on the inside but is actually warm on the inside, a perfect and doting husband. NOT!

Spoiler

ML is a liar. He keeps promising he will tell her everything but breaks that promise next chapter.

[collapse]

He's withholding a lot of information from her.

Spoiler

He knows her family but lies to her face about it. As if she can't make that decision herself.

He purposely prevents her from getting pregnant, without discussing this to her or letting her know. Yes, granted that she's 15 and she's not ready, but the poor girl is beating herself up for not getting pregnant. This is him also promising that he'll tell her everything. What a liar.

[collapse]

ML and FL doesn't trust each other fundamentaly, they always think the other will leave, and they don't communicate either. So they are in constant bouts of insecurities in their relationship. For me, that's not a solid foundation. And it really kills the "Mature" in the tags (that's why I took it down).

Honestly, it's a very shallow story.

This is not even an adulting kind of story, or even slice of life. Because they are both spendthrift, with no income, and doesn't accept compensation for the first half of the novel. No sound adult would ever say no to well deserved compensation.

Anyway, I don't hate it. Just that the tags are misleading and I dropped it because ML is just.. Nah... <<less
