From an early age, Kiara has been plagued with dreams of another world—dreams in which a girl she doesn’t recognize plays a strategy RPG called “Farzia: Kingdom at War”. Farzia is, in fact, the same kingdom where Kiara currently lives. Oh, and one other thing: there’s an enemy character who’s also named Kiara, though her name is Kiara Credias. Naturally, as with any other RPG villain, this enemy is slain by the heroes. So when her adoptive father, Count Patriciél, orders her to marry Viscount Credias, Kiara comes to a horrifying realization: perhaps those “dreams” were visions of things to come! She hatches a plan to get the hell out of Dodge and create a new future for herself—one where she STAYS ALIVE, thank you very much!

This novel is already completed, with total 268 chapters. I haven't gone that much ahead yet, but for now I can say that for the people who read the translations, you should hold off your judgement because at this point (right now there are 14 translated chapters) the real plot just hasn't appear yet.

Spoiler

First, most of the story revolved around warfare. At one point, Kiara will get a teacher and become a magician. In the game, Kiara was on the enemies' side and Reggie was killed which then started the whole plot of the game with Alan as the protagonist. But now that Kiara is on Everal's side, the tide has shifted. This also caused a whole lot new problems which is different than the original game. Such as the war started months earlier than it should be, and there are 'events' and 'plots' that wasn't in the game.

For the romance, currently there are 2 male leads, Reggie and Cain (Wentworth). While I'm pretty sure Reggie is the end game, right now Cain is leading since Kiara thought of Reggie as benefactor / guardian.

I think the story is very good. Everything has consequences and the plotholes are explained eventually. The characters' development are also realistic; each characters have their own background and reasons for their own actions. There are chapters from other characters' point of view, so we can understand their thoughts and reasonings

I found the translations intriguing, so I read ahead a bit and discovered something interesting.

Rather than allowing the main character to breeze through problems with her inherent magic potential and in-game knowledge, the story actually uses these elements creatively in order to create an actually compelling conflict. They're used here to give the tale a constant feeling of tension in the sense that even if she knows what happens in the future (due to her game experience), she's essentially powerless against it. Also, magic powers in their world come with... more>> heavy strings attached, so it's not a free pass either. As a result, we're left with a character who is genuinely at a loss of what to do in order to save the people around her.

If nothing else, it's a nice change of pace from the usual isekai stuff where things seem to come easily and naturally. <<less

One of my fave series. I love this series very much and MTL it trough the end ?

First of all, the game plot here is not an otome game, more like action battle game. So, there are no such thing as capture target and so on. But there are events in the game itself that she want to avoid.

The first noticable plus point in here is how humane the MC is, she's not become to OP. She's reasonable.

The ML (Reggie) and the second lead character (Cain) are quite good, they... more>> have their own personality, not just another bland prince/knight trope.

The plot heavily rotates around war, so there are quite many chapters that describes battle, but its still written nicely.

And the ending is also nice, with a certain twist in it. And the arts in the LN version are beautiful. <<less

What made this story interesting wasn't the fact that the MC didn't have convenient knowledge about everything and anything. It was that the other characters aren't as stuck up as other capture targets in other stories. They are all sensible and have interesting characteristics, even the side characters. It isn't cliche or overly acted. And there is no doting parents or siscon, there is also so much possibilities with the other capture targets and lastly there's still no heroine showing up that will seduce the capture targets.

All Kiara wanted to do was escape from her marriage. She succeeded with this by hitchhiking a ride in a carriage that will change her future! Perhaps ^-^;;;

I like how this novel doesn't give the MC instant knowledge (after she transfers over), to be able to do everything she wants easily. By needing to learn and adapt to the setting she can grow at a nice pace without it seeming too out of place. At this point in time, we haven't delved too much into the other characters but the... more>> story has set a nice pace and is an enjoyable read.

I look forward to reading more about her interactions and the thoughts of the other characters on how they think of her (because side characters always have and interesting view of the MC... sometimes a bit skewed XD). <<less

One of the better otome/romance novels out there.

What is immediately noticeable to me with this series, is that the supporting cast is fleshed out very well. They are likable people and have a purpose other than just being there to make the heroine look good or superior. The world building also feels a little more on the realistic/dark side, and the stakes are high for our heroine. Basically, it's off to a good start in terms of characters, tone, world-building, etc, so I'm excited to see how it develops and... more>> if it can continue from its promising start. <<less

It's a fairly interesting story. I do find issues though.

The MC seems to barely react to a lot of things at times. She never really seems to care about her past life or why she was reincarnated. The Story also does this weird thing that I don't know if it's due to the translation or the original authors writing. But the story will do these weird jump cuts at times. It's nothing unbearable but still weird. Sometimes the story brings up things that I can't remember ever seeing in the... more>> story before and the story acts as we know about this. At the time of writing, We have this weird story about some weird Poison/Tonic thing and fake magicians. It's weird and I'd rather the story focused on other things like the romance.

I do like the romance between Reggie and the MC. I rarely find the Male Love interest to be likable. I do wish the story focused more on the romance. I like the idea of the MC eventually marrying the Prince.

It kind of annoys me that the character called by " Thorn Princess" She has so little interaction and it sucks cause I find her to be one of the most interesting. I do like the idea that the MC and the Thorn Princess are Best Friends and are the only time the MC feels comfortable to talk about her past life with.

Finally, The MC really needs to get her powers soon. I keep wanting it but it's just not happening.

Overall this is a fun story and I like it. <<less

2.5 maybe ?
for a starter it’s a war story, more than anything else

i liked the beginning, the MC was interesting, but the more it goes the more she’s a modern person with barely any thoughts relevant to the world she grew up in. This way you can’t escape the placated values and beliefs of the « how to think » if you end up in a different world - but I don’t believe it’s working this way...

for a starter, i’m a pacifist and as soft hearted as can... more>> be, but if anyone wants to hurt my kin, biology hard wired me to defend them : and I mean it, we have that tendency in our dna, there’s not room for regrets in these actions - Moral values are needed and good, but the idealistic way they are described is borderline absurd and bothersome - you make choices, some are hard and unfair, and you don’t need to like them, but I don’t get the writer, I don’t deny the complexity of these choices, but I feel her descriptions are « overthoughts » not authentic -

romance wise is also bothersome to me - the « average girl with a big heart » that everyone will fall in love with is just another trop that I read too many time. I pity the poor guys that will waste their feelings on an oblivious girl, who, from the start was. Predestined to fall for the « Prince Charming « ...

of course despite being preordered, you can expect it to be anything but straight forwards : so yes, you guess by chapter 3 or 5, but you’ll need probably more than 200 or 300 more chapters to actually see it happen... how boring ? There is so much to actually building a relationship when it exist, so why waste so many pages with s*upid things like « she’s be safer without me » or better yet, « let add a love rival and let another guy protect her for her own sake » ? Really ?

then again, can’t we read something different ? Girl that will end up becoming the queen, idealistic ways of our modern time subdued the hearts of middle age people, little girls having super power to win war and keeping both their sanity and moral standards while trampling people with mud giants...

oups, nah, maybe that is a little bit original... or is it ? <<less

It's off to a good start, but a quick word of warning: the links are quite old now and the translator of the first few chapters used AdFly. Even if you feel you should allow ads to support the translator... in this case, from chapters 4 to 14 the AdFly's links are straight-up broken anyway.

(and this here, folks, is why you should never use ad-linking sites)

Luckily, you can still work out where the actual chapters are on the translator's website. Just go to chapter 3 and edit the... more>> url. It's a bit of a pain, but it's otherwise a good series, at least so far. EDIT: this is only an issue for the first 14 chapters, at least.

Rather than the past life taking over completely, it's more the fictional character vaguely remembers them and the past-life personality has little influence. Added on top, the game the character remembers is more like Fire Emblem than a visual novel. It's a refreshing take. <<less

I like the way the 'previous life' plot device is introduced. Makes it so that she's not just waking up in another world as someone else, she is the soul/person who grew up there. Makes the focus on her world and situation more tangible and grounded for me. She doesn't know every event that's going to happen, especially as she's changed the timeline massively, so you feel like her choices matter more, less predetermination and more free will. Her outlook is one that is put into perspective by modern day... more>> sensibilities and knowledge that she would be dead if not for escaping when she did.

Characters are all likeable too, which is nice. If the main interest is the yandere the tag is there for, then it is very subtle and more of an implicit thing so far. The translation (Tiger) is amazing too which makes reading it very easy and enjoyable (thank you!). I really hope they keep going, and if not that someone else picks it up as it seems like the action is just picking up! <<less

This story is just too good it captivated me in the first chapter. I have never found myself in boredom while reading like I usually do because the world, the scene, the characters are just too damn great.

P.S I ship it.

This novel is fantastic. The author wanted to write a wartime isekai reincarnation novel with a relatively realistic Japanese MC personality, and IMO they did a great job. The MC is definitely the sensitive type - she kills a great many people in order to save the people she cares about, but the author does a great job of characterizing her internal struggles and how she deals with her inner guilt and morality as she adapts her Japanese mentality to her current world.

I personally wasn't a fan of the romance... more>> - it felt forced and unnecessary, and the plot gets twisted in strange ways just to force the characters into doki doki situations. That said, I still rate the novel 5 stars for a truly interesting plot and MC personality.

Spoiler
  • While this is a shoujo issue in general, solitary princes normally don't pop up like weeds in a garden, you know? When the MC was crying, she walked through the whole castle, encountered nobody somehow, and somehow found the prince "patrolling" the castle alone in the hallway leading to her room? No, the prince wasn't waiting for her, he legitimately was described as patrolling alone in a distant enclave in the castle. And when the MC is in danger in the battlefield another time, the prince somehow ran out of the castle and across the battlefield to be her shield in the room it took an arrow to fly at her. It's forced, yes, but it's also a trait of all shoujo stories so I won't be too hard on this point - I knew what I was getting into.
  • The MC is kinda two-faced when dealing with hot boys? When she's down when dealing with grief after her first battle, her female friends will cheer her up, and she won't listen to them (rather obnoxiously, if I remember?). When the commoner chef boy tries to cheer her up, she brushes him aside. But when the hot ML comes along, she comments explicitly on how nice and angular his face is, bursts into tears, and confesses all her deepest emotions. This process happens many, many times. There are several prospective MLs as well, and our MC will almost always call out their appearance before revealing her secrets and emotions.
  • I'm not a fan of domineering shoujo MLs in general, and the MLs in this novel oscillate very rapidly between yandere "I want to cage her in a locked room" and ostensibly saying "I love her because she's a free bird". What this means practically is that they constrain her choices, guilt trip her into their desired plan, and then step back and applaud her on her independence once she's finished her job (usually to her emotional and personal detriment).
  • The author spent more time on a random romantic side plot about the MC dreaming someone touched her lips while she was sleeping than on, you know, her guilt after her first battle or about the military situation. She eventually decided that someone was just giving her water to drink, and she mistook the glass for a finger. But she got to romance the yandere MLs in the meantime! Yay... : (

Although I give the romance a hard time, I really like the plot and MC in the wartime arcs. <<less

IF you like straight foward MCs that know what they want and go get it, this is for you. Even when she wants to cry, Kiara stares right ahead and worries about crying later.

Good pacing, the Main Lead, Reggie, is interesting so far! Cant wait for their relationship to evolve

Well, it's definitely your standard shoujo with an MC that has some powers that makes her special but not invincible. The fantasy aspect can only be attributed to the spellcasters part, and monsters that have the ability to use elements of nature.

As someone who has read quite a lot of light novels, web novels, and YA fantasy books, I think this novel is at most mediocre. Its plot is quite similar to that of an otome game, with all these men seemingly fond of her for who knows what reason.... more>> The MC isn't really unique at all, as someone has mentioned she follows the usual shoujo MC troupe. By that, she's dense, can't bear the thought of killing people, unbelievably kind, s*upidly innocent, cries a lot, gets flustered easily, and is reckless. She does have her pros, her abilities to make golems help a lot on the battlefield. I also appreciate that although she doesn't like to kill people, she doesn't let it cloud her judgment as she's also aware if she doesn't kill, she will be killed.

The war strategies are straightforward and simple, but nothing extraordinary. I also agree with one review that maybe it would have been better without the romance but that wouldn't exactly be shoujo then, right? Anyways, the writing isn't bad and the plot isn't bad. Everything is just okay. The romance is typical of a shoujo and of course, someone has to have a sad backstory.

It's nothing special, if you're into shoujo with the generic type of heroine, then this is probably for you. I do admit that I did enjoy the last volume since we learn about everyone's agenda, identity, and schemes. But overall, the plot is nothing special. All the concepts and troupes in this novel have already been used in other stories as well. <<less

The beginning was ok and I liked the way the MC just wanted to escape from her marriage. The capture characters too aren't too stuck up so they're bearable to read.

But slowly when I thought we'd get a bit more unique story, the MC falls back into tropes I'm tired of reading.

Plus there have been no updates and I don't want to burn my eyes off reading MTL for this. So dropping it here.
