10 years ago, after “the Gate” that connected the real world with the monster world opened, some of the ordinary, everyday people received the power to hunt monsters within the Gate. They are known as “Hunters”.

However, not all Hunters are powerful. My name is Sung Jin-Woo, an E-rank Hunter. I’m someone who has to risk his life in the lowliest of catacombs, the “World’s Weakest”.

Having no skills whatsoever to display, I barely earned the required money by fighting in low-leveled catacombs… at least until I found a hidden catacomb with the hardest difficulty within the D-rank catacombs!

In the end, as I was accepting death, I suddenly received a strange power, a quest log that only I could see, a secret to leveling up that only I know about! If I trained in accordance with my quests and hunted monsters, my level would rise.

Changing from the weakest Hunter to the strongest S-rank Hunter!

Highly recommended!

I like the novel and I found myself reading the manga Solo Leveling. The drawing is really good and at first I never really liked overpowered protagonist but this made me broke my rule. It's really a great novel!

First korean novel I finished (I think) ! So much love for this novel. Kudos to the writer and translator. No unnecessary parts.I got into korean novels because of this, compared to chinese novels it's rather short/ concise but packed with action too <3

I have no idea why there are so many negative reviews on this light novel, I had so much fun reading this LN and was most definitely one of the best LNs I have read to this day if not the best.

And now a review based on my opinion.

First of all the writing was really good and the explanations were also great.

Second of all some people say the plot doesn't make sense because of all the additions at the end but in my opinion it was a really well done... more>> plot twist and made an already great novel yet even better.

Third of all there is a well done balance between the seriousness and comedic levels of the novel which is a very nice addition.

Fourth MC gets stronger after tons of hard work and becomes insanely strong compared to his other human allies but that's the entire point of the name and a lot of people are bu*t hurt over the MC getting op but it's pretty much impossible to find adventure stories where it doesn't go from underdog to super strong unless it's comedic like one punch man for example.

Fifth at the time I was reading the novel it was really unique which was amazing and I've noticed an increase in stories with somewhat similar ideas to this one but I'm not sure who is stealing and who came up with the idea but I'm pretty sure this is one of the unique stories.

Sixth point which I really respect the author for is the fact there is no Harem which was getting super repetitive and annoying at this point.

All in all it's a must read. <<less

Has really really good action scenes and it's really fresh to see a MC that really sticks to their own morals and rules so strictly. Keep the title in mind if you're gonna read it. Some are complaining that only the MC fights the enemies, but that's the title. The MC also doesn't really have character development since he's already fully matured. His sacrifices for his perfect ending and the happiness of his loved ones made this novel that more interesting. The ending really hits you hard in the feels.... more>> It's super super touching since you know what he went through to get this far. The world system is also surprisingly interesting. Once you find out everything working behind the scenes you'll be mind blown. I for one was. The manga is good to but it misses a lot of good details and is a bit rushed so I definitely recommend reading this at all costs. 1000/10 <<less

Not a full 5 stars because I have mixed feelings regarding the erased timeline after the climax battle with King of Dragons, Sovereign of Destruction. It worked out well in the end, but I have this feeling that something was missing although MC has achieved his goals to restore peace for the entire humanity. It's part of the price for reserving the time, I guess. Still, I believe MC still can live on happily though, even without reserving the timeline again in the end and live on with what survives after the battle with the Sovereigns. Just my personal opinion hehe :)

Overall: No, this novel is not a gargabe. It's definitely a unique masterpiece of a story on its own :)) <<less

I really like this novel. It has been very interesting so far and with a lot of action. The MC is already OP, but I'm looking forward to seeing him grow even more powerful. I especially like how he manages to destroy other people's sinister plots. So far I haven't encountered the negative stuff some other reviews are about. The worldbuilding is great and no romance so far. Definitely recommended.

It's been a while since I completed this novel but I was too lazy to create an account before this. I only created it to express my disappointment at the ending of another novel which I originally thought was perfect, "Monster that levels up".

But anyways, from what I could remember, this novel was amazing and honestly will forever remain as the best or 2nd best novel I've read. The only thing lacking in my opinion, was the romance as it could've been deeper. But, the novel is really amazing enough... more>> as it is. One of the few novels that actually made me tear up from how epic it is. <<less

There's too much negative review, it kinda of actually made me sad.

Well, all of them had a point. The story revolves around our MC. You know, the tiltle 'I alone level up'. Yeah, he alone because he doesn't connect with others in the whole story. He plays solo!

The exciting part actually lies on him battling and levelling up throwing his former timid self out of the window with the resolve to become stronger because the world was full of sht. Yeah, he started out wanting to get stronger to heal... more>> his plot device of a mother but after almost going through the gates of hell, he realized people just ain't so nice.

It's also pretty relatable when he first saw his gaming interphase and receive a quest and he just sleep on it. I mean, if it were me and I woke up seeing the world had changed, I would probably just shrugged it off because it just doesn't felt real. (Like how everyone is dying with the virus out there but you're community seems pretty chill.) Yeah, there's still some lenient and s*upid humans out there. They exist.

If you ignored those signs of pink bubbles on the latter chapters, the suspense and how the MC was slowly getting OP makes it more commnedable than those recycled wuxia novels. I've been turtored by tr*shy cnovels for too long, this novel actually kinda save me! We spread peace okey? <<less

this novel is one of the best I have read so far. It has 300 chapters, so no fillers. MC is smart, cool and knows what he is doing. He doesn't mess around with girls like a playboy. This novel is full of hypes. Trust me you are gonna love it.

This was pretty good read and some may be dissatisfied with the ending... but I’m ok with it.

I understand why he chose what he did because of regrets and what ifs that came up when he had the dream where he can change the outcome of things if possible... it was already a forewarning of how the story ends.

So the story was overall pretty good and the ending though a bit anticlimactic but it’s appropriate for the MC’s personality.

It starts off fairly strong, and even continues to carry its momentum into later chapters, but the later chapters really begin to drop off and it ends in an unsatisfying manner with very little resolved that you probably wanted resolved. Ending aside though, it's still pretty good

story : 4/5

characters : 3.5/5

development : 4/5

... more>> Started this at around the ants arc so I won't talk about the development or writen style in the beginning to real in the readers but I'll talk about after.

The story : a weak to strong with an MC that got a cheat out of nowhere.

characters : it's pretty much only the MC. Other characters ? Why the need ? The MC can just add more character in his army. Even the romance was added in like it was to give some sweets to the readers but it wasn't much developed. What I hated the most is that all the other characters are pretty much 2D. Every time the MC does something, everyone are just here to praise it. It's alright for a few chapters, but it was just ridiculous to introduce any characters after the middle point.

Many development in the story totally disappeared after being introduced and making it seems like they would have been a great addition later.

The extra chapters are definitely what was need to keep a good memory of this novel, before that, it was quite so-so.

tldr: not a bad read, but you can feel the author wasn't trying to make any more surprise after some point. The extras chapters are really what make it worth it. Beru => best character of the show. <<less

This is honestly such a good novel! I love it a lot because it's so mysterious and I really like the main character. The more the story progresses, the more I feel proud of him but I was kinda sad that he lost that kind naiive personality.

What I hate the most in the stories is an undisclosed or just shitty finale. The conclusion of the story is one of the most important parts in the stories. Because even if you may like the characters, plot, world, the story of the writer, if the author screwed up in the finale - it's like a runner knocked down on the finish line. It absolutely kills all the good feelings you could have for the story. As for - "I Alone Level-Up". I would not say in the story... more>> itself and in the narrative there is nothing special, not bad, you can kill time. But just for the finale, for its openness, which is often not enough for stories with 1000+ chapters, I will put this story 5 stars. A small spoiler, after the completion of the main story, the author gives us even more than 20 chapters just to show how the life of the heroes of the story after the ending of the story developed. <<less

Let me just start by stating one thing: this story is not without flaws.

What does this mean? It has the typical stuff web novels usually have like plot holes, etc. That would, overall, drag the ratings down to 3-4 stars. But why is my review 5 stars? Because ultimately, as it always does, it all lies in patience and personal preference. I guess that this story just sneaked in, got to me and became a particularly memorable one.

Beware of some spoilers!

When I read WNs, I don't want to think too... more>> hard on all the details and just enjoy the ride. But I don't want to experience uncomfortably bad bumps on the road either (aka ignoring minor flaws is fine but when the story is too much of an intolerable mess, I'll quit reading). I feel like this WN fulfilled those conditions and it also stuck wonderfully to my preferences, which are character interactions and development (plus, it also helped that the length isn't so ridiculously long either). I absolutely adore the interactions between MC and his summons. It personally feels like one of the driving points of this novel. The author may lack in pacing or plot or whatever else they were critiqued on but I love the way they wrote dialogues or feelings of characters. There are just points where the dialogue or the feelings transmitted was powerful enough to invite onion cutting ninjas. The little bits of character and humor found throughout the story also made me laugh and like them all the more.

Despite the fact that I said the author was good with character development/interactions, I won't deny that there are flaws on that aspect as well. Some characters need to be more fleshed out, interactions emphasized, etc. But I felt in the end, if I don't scrutinize it too much, it doesn't take much of my enjoyment of the story itself. It's an imperfect product but it made me feel thrilled, melancholic, and other emotions and that's what matters. If the story just made me feel tedious to read, uncomfortable or bored, then it isn't for me.

Here we are probably going to thread through the spoiler territory a bit. The ending was definitely disappointing but the side stories should be read for a worthy ending. Honestly, the side stories are what enhanced the main story so much more. Actually, it fleshed out the summons' characters so much better with their POV chapters, Igris' POV chapter was definitely one of my absolute favorites with Beru's close behind (the heart-wrenching one where they had to seal MC's son's memories and powers) and a bunch of other future chapters as well. Personally, I really feel that if you stopped reading at the end of the main story, it'll feel lacking because the story and the side stories are a complete package and the true ending is at the end of the side stories. There are events like MC's everyday life, MC's family, MC's future, little tidbits about the people MC met and even a fun chapter about the Dragon Emperor being MC (which is hilarious tbh) and then, the end chapter that's less vague, less abrupt and more conclusive.

tl;dr This definitely isn't perfect. I could think up of so many things that could be improved upon even now, but this story was a definite fun adventure with its own special, unforgettable moments. Give it a try and maybe you'll like it more than you think. <<less

*note my punctuation sucks so if you don’t like that I would recommend reading some other reviews* *second note I didn’t read side chapters and if they were interspersed through the novel rather than at the end my bad because I didn’t read it on QI because I don’t want to support them*

I meant to rate this 3 stars but I’m on tablet and so oh well the novel was fairly average to me don’t think it has particularly strong character development it’s world is built in a way where... more>> nobody save MC can really get stronger which is lame in my opinion the setting is like a mix of the gamer (manwha) but less imaginative and it reminds me of evolution theory of a hunter I think the pacing is pretty bad for power development and at this point I think I will talk about *SPOILERS*

his power set goes from being fairly boring to a necromancer and if you want a good necromancer novel read Seoul station necromancer at least save for its ending. I alone level up’s ending is kinda lame it’s a time reversal I’ve seen that done more logically elsewhere because in this one the author wasn’t willing to kill of enough characters that were developed enough to warrant time reversal the other novel I read at least killed off most of the supporting cast first of course that novel didn’t really say much after which kinda left it a bit depressing but back to this novel it’s system was fairly boring nothing particularly interesting about it as save for maybe the store I’ve seen everything else before and the store isn’t really that interesting. None of the characters growth felt very earned to me he didn’t really have to train he was just suddenly good with daggers and it’s also kind of annoying that we didn’t get to see him properly go through the ranks he just leveled up which made it kind of hard to know his relative strength until he was better than everyone. The romance in this novel was incredibly weak and I don’t have much to say on it. I don’t think the author was that good at writing fight scenes as none of them left that much impact save for vs Beru to me this may hit me a bit harder than most as I have visualization issues though. I also really dislike the transcending the system trope it’s just kinda lame to me as a well written system can really help give you an idea of a characters strength although writing this I realize I may really just like the litrpg genre because it helps with my visualization issues though that may not be true because I got into it through manga. Overall this felt like a fairly unoriginal novel which honestly I’m not against as long as your better than what your copying which I don’t think this was. 6/10 not very memorable but at least I actually finished it unlike some other stuff <<less
