The MC doesn't really suffer from oppression in this Matriarchal world as a constant upheaval. In fact, the misandry is quite passive for the most part. I have a feeling the author wants the tables turned between genders, and for men to imagine what it's like to be the "inferior gender". There's nothing much different between our world and this isekai world: the men do all the working and all the money making, while the women marry based on a man's assets and whether he looks good enough. That being... more>> said, there's no role reversal: men are not proper, and women are not vulgar.

For one reason or another, the bad things about women are overemphasized. They are rotten, manipulative, and even cruel. As a result, the men are pretty much neutered: they are not macho-man manly, and most of them are rather pathetic. There's some real depth into how this society was constructed, and that takes the cake for me. I imagine the history of the isekai world's war will explain how and why the matriarchal world came to be, which I look forward to. tl;dr Depending on your gender, you are reading a novel about a parallel world so surreal, it feels like you are reading something about heaven or hell.

I rate this: One Respect Women out of 2 Women Respected

Small edit, but I recently discovered this was written by the same people who have made Sevens. As a result, my expectations are a little higher than before because I really enjoyed Sevens. <<less

Pretty good light novel. The author had clearly told us about how the world in this story work. The plot seems interesting too. It's about 2 reincarnated ppl who will "fight" each other in this otome world setting.

The more I read this light novel, the more I curious about how it will end. It gives me an excited feeling whenever I found the new chapter has released, it's the same feeling as reading my favorite manga.

It's an interesting story. I enjoy the premise of the male lead being reincarnated into a girl game and having to deal with the abnormalities that come with it. I'm a bit sad that the male lead seems to be just going along with the flow at this point but I want to see where the story leads.

Firstly, if you want continue reading this go to jnovels. They have pdfs to volume 6.

I must say that I'm disappointed. I started this with the manga and got invested in this so much that this became the first light novel that I read. And I honestly enjoyed this. The world-building, the characters and the inconsistency of the game story. I loved it all. Seriously, if you really want to enjoy this just read till volume 4 for now.

The things started to go downhill from volume 5. The start of... more>> second part of the game. I mean, it made the story somewhat dragged on. Well as expected of an Otome game, the damsels-in-distress were all kinda familiar. The concept of the new humans and humans also starts to slowly reveal itself.
Spoiler

what I'm truly frustrated it that the author is seriously dragging the relation between Leon and Angie and Livia. And using them as Yuri Fanservice is somewhat disappointing. At this point, the moments between Marie and Leon are more interesting in the Maria route side stories

[collapse]

The volume 6th contain some good moments and all, but the second part arc is not really fulfilling as the first one. I really hope for the seventh part to be good. <<less

The protagonist does'nt have any qualities that we can root in. His personalities equals to a potato. Uninteresting boring and a hypocrite. Always b*tching about his situation but never do anything to protect his mob personalities. The heroines have a potential but never truly explored and because of that the heroines looks like some appetizer not really important. The heroines is also like the protagonist always b*tching. The Heroines can't do anything except being a love target for the protagonist, it doesn't have any good qualities that I can cherish... more>> for. In the middle of the reading I can't even care less about the conflict because we will know who will win, but before you can say that this is because this is an isekai novel it supposed to be like that, I don't think so the conflict could be an philosophical conflict is the protagonist willing to protect ones life for the sake of his so called peaceful life. After many many contradicts the protagonist done, I could not believe to see myself supporting this guy. Also the world building is lacking thoughts if the woman are the ruling individual then it would impact society in a different way. The economy will be different, there would be movements to support men's rights, the king would be a political tools to queen. After reading this deep into the book I think that calling the protagonist a boring potato would be an insult to a potato. This novel leaves a bad after taste in my mouth. <<less

It's interesting enough. The world setting is kind of annoying at first but you tend to forget about it soon enough after seeing the women in this story. Typical toxic behavior but are easily defeated.

The last 3 volumes consists of a simple formula: Simple daily lives -> Sudden appearance of a foe -> MC gets beaten up as if he didn't save anyone from the previous arc/storyline -> MC just takes it silently (wtf) -> After general public are in dire straits they'll need help from MC -> MC starts... more>> a long ass speech about whatever the f*ck is going on -> MC wins -> He doesn't want a reward but still gets it.

The formula has never changed. Honestly, I'm getting tired of it but the story is still interesting nonetheless.

Also, this is the first time I've accepted harem but if he adds more to the 2 OG ones, I might start to question his motives. You do not need a whole bunch of girls. Please just stick to the ones you already have. (though I've read the spoilers and I guess there's a third one. I hope some miracles happen and I'll start to actually like her too. Zzzzz) Cut the harem man, seriously... <<less

So bad, wow.

So I started reading this cuz it had high ratings and a novel premise. For the first 10 chapters, yea this delivered about what I expected. But then we get to the school arc...

If this novel is supposed to be a satire making fun of how bad otome novels are, then its doing a wonderful job. This gives you a perfect understanding of how bad otome novels are, to every specific detail. Whether it is the 1-d characters who are literally meant to be 1-d or the harem-esque... more>> settings, this novel has them all but worse.

Lets look at what otome game novels do well - or at least do that makes ppl read them.

  1. they have the quirky main character (post transmigration) that every one hates but these select few ppl open up to them and... fluff... filler
  2. They have a lot of fluff
  3. Umm.. relatively unique premise... if this was a year or 2 ago that is
Now lets list a few things this novel does well:

  1. Unique premise (tho it does kinda click bait you into thinking its gonna be a parody of typical otome game novels)
  2. Novel is honest about how garbage its characters are
  3. ... yea thats about it
Reading this it felt like this is meant to be a manga and only that. The protagonist of the otome game (a FL), feels completely unlikable in every way. She doesn't learn, she doesn't grow, she's not even cute - unless you find cliche "innocent" naive girl cute. In addition to that, the protagonist (ML) just falls for her for like no apparent reason even though it goes against all the plans he set for himself.

In a manga, all this is acceptable. Crappy, boring personality? No problem as long as she has big racks and looks cute. Protag falling in love with this random boring ass girl? Also fine since its manga, who cares. Now this wouldn't make a very good or interesting manga, but I could tide through it in a night's worth of binging.

In a novel setting, however, where you constantly have to rely on every character's every word, action and movement to create an image for yourself, I find myself relating most to the antagonist. It's not like the novel portrays the antagonist as some "change your perspective and they're good" type of character. No, this novel tries its best to make this antagonist as hated as can be. However, this protagonist... my god.

This novel has probably one of my most hated protagonists of all time. He's supposed to be relatable by not putting in any effort in life and wanting to be a shut-in/NEET. Yet he still manages to achieve success with just cheats and plot armor basically. He falls in love with some stereotypical LN FLs and thats fine, until he puts himself down and tells himself that he's not suited to them for no reason. He purposefully makes himself a matyr arbitrarily based on his whims. He has communication problems. I could go on, but thinking about this novel is making me frustrated.

(Pretend this is a rant about the whole s*x issue from the premise and the lack of the author's interpretations of contemporary gender issues that I expected there to be)

I'll keep reading a few more chapters as it seems I've finally reached the combat arc, but from the misunderstanding triangle that popped up, its just gonna be more suffering - for me, that is.

1/5, how are ppl actually enjoying this <<less

The story is okay but the MC action and his logic for doing them is so annoying and illogical. He wants a certain easy simple life style but everything he does goes against it.

He also has a super power computer/robot weapon that can take over the world but no he rather act like the typical Japanese betta boy and gets push around by almost everyone. And another thing is that he won't kill cause it'll cause him trouble but not killing would cause him more trouble but because he's the... more>> typical Japanese betta boy he still doesn't kill but plot armor is there to make it all A-OK for him and everyone around him.

So if you okay with the normal betta MC that gets bully even tho he has enough power to curbstomb everyone around him than this story is a decent read but if not stay away. <<less

Sigh couldn't take it anymore. MC is just too bot like more than his bot. In fact his bot is more human and sensible than him (I probably won't mind it if the AI bot Luzon became the MC of the series). which made it worst cause the fact that the bot act like the mc's subconscious means that author is deliberately making the MC a annoying prick who finds excuses to justify all his incompetence. And it sucks... It's not even funny anymore.. mc's doing everything half heartedly while... more>> keep proclaiming everything is going as plan when its not. His actions is down right unresonable and has no logic in it but he acts like it's the most correct thing to do. also wtf is with the author's sibling rivalry in all his novel. Well, I really like how the author build the rules of this otome world, it's fresh to read.

The plot is great so far, nothing to complain.

The characters is quite like other novels, typical ones but its fine though, I like those kinds of characters.

Started off alright but the character has gotten way too damn whiny and there should really be a limit to how much a person can moan and project their insecurities in internal monologues. The setting was pretty good and there were some really good moments but it is all drowned out by how unlikable the protagonist is in this.

It's just boring. The translation quality isn't good either, but it's one of the few highly rated novels I've read on here that's genuinely just not interesting. The action isn't compelling, the characters aren't compelling. Every chapter felt like a genuine chore to read. This might be my least favorite novel on this website.

I can't say it has a good setup for the world settings but the author play it right and use the plot hole to his advantage.

It actually good enough for me to read the raw myself. Especially the end of second arc which is the end of vol. 5 (the current vol. For the raw), it made me laugh real hard and shed some tears.

Now, I have catch up to the author and have a hard time to wait for the next vol.

Have to say it is one of the... more>> best isekai works, even with the sloppily setup world (or some may even say bullshit), it still has a lot of charm as literature work.

The characters at first glance are too simple mind but when the story progress I can feel their growth and it fit well with the setup.

Let give it 5 stars. <<less

The basis of the story makes no sense.

Spoiler

The MC is the second son of the first wife of the Baron. Since the father remarried to someone higher in the nobel hierarchy the son is being suppressed. The social standing of Women and Men is supposed to be reversed in this world with woman having multiple male lovers and so on.

Now it might just be me, but in our society there is no polygamist relationship where the men has multiple wives and would allow one of his wifes to stay married to her previous husband. If nobel men can't find a wife if they are over 20 years old, how did the MC's father find a second wife when he was clearly over 20? If woman are in dominant position in this society, why is the man the nobel? Shouldn't it be the woman? Shouldn't all the woman be the only ones in line to inherit a title? Why would the matriarch of the family spend money on a son (the father) who was sold to another woman? Shouldn't he be living with her and the woman of the barony be taking over?

As I stated the basis of the plot is a huge plot hole.

This review will only come out because of the force of my hate and to remind myself never to read another LN & WN with an MC more DENSE than a bag of rocks!
-
Story ★★ - World-Building at the beginning is indeed interesting, how a Matriarchal society deals with men, and how they are treated in society and of course the consequences when a War occurs and their lack of "supply", but of course this is the first Arc, from then on it's just downhill, if the LN ends in the first arch, a 7/10 would even be a valid score, but no... The Author has to extend himself in the WORST possible way.
-
Character ★ - And here begins the DOWNHILL, our MC Leon at the beginning wants to be a Mob, he doesn't want to call attention to himself, but it's the cliché that the less attention he wants to have, the more attention he has, being a character who is always reacting to problems, the action moments are even OK and some even cool, the problem is the Romance, and why it exists in this work.... Is the character DENSE? He is denser than adamantium, I don't know why Japanese authors follow this cliché even more when the guy in question is a man in his 30s who was Isekai, it makes no sense, even more so when he has TWO BRIDES at the end of the first arc, there comes a later moment in the story that both want to sleep with him, the same thinking it's a sh*t test, takes MEDICINE TO SLEEP, did you imagine this scene in your head dear reader? Calm! BECAUSE WORSE, so cowardly, the two BRIDES start kissing at a certain moment (NTR), while our MC is rushing to solve a problem he set for himself, these events I told you are just the end and the middle of the Iceberg, unites its development that is NULL, with its cowardly side both in the romantic issue and in the battle (fear of killing), self-esteem on the ground even more after saving the Kingdom in which it lives, in short it is a COMPLETE PILE OF GARBAGE !
- Of course this is just the MC, what about the other characters? Apart from the quartet that is there for the comedy, which actually works, Maria is an OK character, the Harem girls are nice, but due to the lack of "action" by the MC themselves they turn into a pile of garbage, some characters sidekicks are BETTER than him in that regard.
-
Enjoyment ★★ - As I said, the world-building is really cool in the beginning, the fights are even OK, what drags this into the abyss are the characters.
-
General ★ & 1/10 - Sincerity? Stay away, this LN is not worth wasting time with, because of it I started to hate DENSE characters with all my might, I always look for a review if the story contains romance, so as not to pass this anger and run away again, enough in one level that gives the reader agony, as you read the LN thinking REACT DAMN IT! LOOK AT THESE TWO BEAUTIFUL BLONDES WANTING TO BE WITH YOU AND YOU TAKING MEDICATION TO SLEEP FOR SUCH A COWARD YOU ARE! Anyway, this LN is INTRAGABLE, of course even after the V8 that's where I left off, something happens, the path is very painful and not worth your time.
-
If you read this review thank you very much and may God bless you!

dropped because a myriad of issues with the series.

Pros:

good worldbuilding of a bad world (this is on purpose)

... more>> decent main character for the first few volumes

good heroines/love interests

feel good solutions to most arcs

side characters develop into decent characters

Cons:

very frustrating plot development, most issues past the first main climax could be solved through a 5 minute conversation

POV switches to people, that are I think intended to be disliked, and makes reading those chapters a chore and very annoying

main characters lack of backbone towards his love interests gets really annoying after the third volume (before then it was somewhat understandable) they even start loving each other more than him lmao.

Our MC is an unreliable narrator but for dumb things, and gets progressively more annoying. <<less

If you want a really good time, don't read the main story too much. Instead, read the Marie Route.

Main story : 6/10

Marie route : 9/10

Main story review: it has an interesting premise but becomes boring and bland overtime. It suffers from the usual isekai syndrome where MC is supposed to be old and has some experience in the previous life, yet acts like a 5 year old with zero impulse control.

There's no real stake, no real danger, it doesn't make you feel anything other than the usual rainbow and sunshine where the MC steamroll everything through sheer power of ultimate cheat, luck, and friendship, and everything ends happily ever after (yay). Even though by premise, the world is guaranteed to become a massive clusterf*ck, because of how chaotic the stage it is.

I got fed up and stopped reading at Volume 5, and I even wonder why it takes me such a long time to drop it.

.

Marie Route review: for me, this is the GOAT Route, and i've read it up to the latest part (Marie Route part 9) while skipping all the main story.

In this route the MC choses a more reasonable and less impulsive/aggresive stance yet it sheds more blood than the main route. The MC doesn't have infinite amount of luck here, so he stumbles badly everytime his hyper luck ran out.

Which is why this route is called the BAD ENDING route by other fellow readers. It isn't perfect by any means, but fixed so much of the main route's problem, which is:
Spoiler

1) This route has a massive stake at hand. The threat keeps stalking you from your blind spot, and does actual harm to the MC and all other characters. It gives you creeping fear and anxiety, like something crawling under your skin. The world doesn't feel 'safe' like your typical story.

2) The MC doesn't act like an impulsive edgy kid (at least most of the time), he takes a more passive and sometimes mature approach to the situation. He needs a very strong reason to fight or get serious, and don't throw his hands mindlessly, not jumping into the fire, not acting like he's strong even though all his power came from cheats.

He takes action and make deals mostly behind the scenes. The only time he was angrily impulsive was when his opponent doesn't fulfill their mutual agreement (read: dirty deal behind the scene), which is understandable, since the deal will change the plot massively onwards.

3) There are real repercussion for every wrong action/inaction that he took. He actually suffers the consequences whenever he is indecisive, careless, acts immaturely, don't take things seriously, and too relaxed.

And someone will dearly pay the price, it could be the MC or other characters, the world around them, and even characters from the sequel, which is outside the timeline of the game plot.

4) The characters don't mindlessly revolve around the MC, they have their own personal objective and ambition which they keep pursuing even behind the scene, regardless of the MC.

They don't serve as the stepping stone of the MC, instead they try to use everything including the MC as their stepping stone. In short, the characters are more fleshed out and they actually feel alive instead of being a lifeless trope/plot progression device.

5) The other countries from the sequel of the game exists and is running behind the scene, even when they're not the main focus (in the main story they only suddenly exist when their tineline starts and MC decides focus his attention on them, and only then the plot can progress).

And man, they're actually affecting the world around them so much, and ultimately the MC as well. Even when technically he's still outside the timeline of the game sequel, and the sequel hasn't started yet so it supposedly shouldn't affect him... right? (nope lol).

6) Some things that are unexplained in the main story, gets properly explained very in-depth in Marie Route. I won't say much, but you can see the other side of the characters that they haven't shown in the main story here in Marie Route.

[collapse]

Marie Route can be summarized with: "This is what happens when the world doesn't revolve around the Main Character"
.

Final verdict: read the first few volumes of the main story if you're interested, since they explain a lot of the worldbuilding.

And when it starts to get boring, read the Marie Route because it's a guaranteed banger (i couldn't sleep when I haven't finished reading Marie Route everytime it's released lol). <<less

don't waste your brain cell to digest the story. that's how I read vol 07. because vol 06 got me lose my entire patience with MC and surounding character. whenever something doesn't add up I just keep on scrolling the page. because in the end, this novel is about MC doing what he wants. he waste a chance to solves problems before it become problematic. that's fine. his girls become yuri couple. that's fine. and MC is the most dense material subjet in the universe. that's fine too. in the... more>> end the day will be saved. just read them without thinking too much in our spare time.

this is not a bad bad nor a good one, the comedy are mostly lame, MC is a scumbag, the two heroine definitely more intimate with each other more than they with MC, the best women is another men's, there is lot of plot holes and plot armor are so so convenient. but all just a work of fiction. it help to waste time when idle. and that's how it worth.

Spoiler

when the game change into the second installment... and he got trapped/pushed into engagement and got to babysit the power ranger squad... and so on and so on...i come to like the sister better. I got to applaud author to be able to write her interestingly. at least that one is a good one. she is still somewhat a disappointment but she is good. while MC has become someone you want to punch to a blackhole.
