How should I say this... I enjoyed the novel but... The game... The instances... Feel a bit too hard? I feel like aside from MC, MC's BF, ML and ML's teammates everyone else died. Also they really didn't play any role. Just an insignificant characters. They also didn't cooperate much, their value are zero. Can be pick up and left behind as their like. The characters did try but really they didn't survive and when the games over, there's no mention about the characters anymore.

I can't see how other peoples... more>> than MC solve the games without plot armor. Even the D level instances are reek of death everywhere.

But one good thing is MC's characters and his BF are realistic. They screamed, they trembled, they clearly afraid but holding on. I applaud the author for that. <<less

OMG, just finished MTL (it's very easy to understand the MTL).

Oh, so good! My boys.... are so good together! Really willing to die for each other many times.

Everything is not as it seems, there's so many twists and turns, but in the end, everything is revealed and makes sense.

I like it. At the begining its good but the relationship of ML n MC, its too easy
... more>>
Spoiler

around the 4th instance hundred ghosts maybe
MCs die but not real death, he travels many instances like a ghost
When he rebirth, reaction of charactors were too fake, easy like this is something always happen.
it talk with that traveling so long but nothing. About why MC can read things in instance WHY ITS NOT EXPLAIN.

[collapse]

ML is cold at first see him reborn and suddenly do something gently. Why hes cold even not interest in MC??? It not explain

And they go to chase last boss. Instances are about demon and moster not too much with ghost. I think plot of instance isnt important that much.

EVERY THING IS TOO EASY. THE PLOT GO SO QUICKLY. <<less

This is worth every second you spend reading it! I really, really liked what's been translated up till now and I hope the rest of the novel keeps from falling apart towards the end the way webnovels have a tendency to do..

The MC handles the situation he's put in pretty damn well considering how everyone else deals with it. First off, he's not dead. That alone makes him better than the majority of others dragged into the game. Second thing is that comparing him to the strength of the ML... more>> and his team, who has dealt with this much longer, is also fcken ridiculous. He does his best and he's very much human. He's not supposed to start off strong, that would be totally illogical and would ruin the whole novel.. His relationship with mianmian is also mf precious!

Spoiler

it's also pretty fcking obvious shen yuan is supposed to be xinghe, and asthenamedic or wtf is pretty damn off saying the MC caused the ml's death because he DID NOT cause it, he has f*cking survivor's guilt and he is FULLY justified in that

I just finished MTLing this novel and I can say that it is a really good novel. After finishing the novel I have an impression that it's more like a scifi novel than a horror novel. It's honestly like a transmigration novel with a plot twist behind the plot twist.

The MC is really weak in the first part of the story and some of the readers who like an MC with an overpowered golden finger may not like it very much. But honestly I feel that it's only appropriate and... more>> make the story more exciting. And although the MC is weak physically that doesn't mean that he can't do anything. He is strong mentally and can joke around with his best friend while experiencing some life threatening situations. The reason behind it is because of his occupation which is a horror game anchor. He is also really good in analyzing the story of the copies and find important clues that will solve the copy.

The ML has a really interesting character plot as well. And he can be possessive but honestly it's more like a child guarding his most favorite person. It's not overbearing and actually just give a meng feeling in the novel. He is also strong but he is not like a bug that automatically solved everything in the copy. Honestly most of the time they will more or less experience loss. But when you get to the last few chapters it will all make sense.

The romantic relationship between them all throughout the story is really ambiguous. It will only have a confirmation on last few chapters. So the BL part is not the focus of the story but their relationship is an important part of the plot. You will realize it when you finished the story.

The scene with the best friend of the MC is really good as well. They have a really good relationship that is build with trust and camaraderie. The character of the best friend is really good and most of the time he is the ine adding a comedic factor in this novel. I honestly love this character.

I won't give any spoilers because it will ruined the plot twists that the author painstakingly think of but I can tell you guys that it's a good story and you should definitely give it a try. <<less

Arghhhh

I hate the MC... I know that he feels guilty for Xinghes' death but still to keep on chasing Shen yuan just because the two resemble each other outwardly.

I'm done reading the second copy where they were together with shen yuan's team and I 'm just mad at the MC, come on, HE'S OBSESS ABOUT XINGHE and that's the very reason why he keeps bothering Shen yuan and poor him, he is a substitute for someone and even gain a buggage that he needs to carry around.

Pissed of MC. You... more>> need to stop being obsess about your childhood friend even though YOU are the reason he is dead.

And don't bother Shen yuan. Hmph

MC IS ABNORMAL

MC IS WEAK AS A CHICKEN

MC IS ANNOYING

(just to clarify, I'm not really sure if Xinghe and Shen yuan is related to each other since I haven't read far ahead. This my review after the second world that they entered)

I will probably edit this review after I finish reading the 3rd world copy. Hopefully MC is no longer annoyingly obsess with a massive abnormality and a huge brain damage.

On a side note, the MC is atleast Smart and not completely without use.

Cheers* <<less

ah... a novel hasn't pissed me off this much in a long time. I usually love horror infinite flow danmei (supernatural movie actor app in particular was exceptional, peak of this genre) and I don't usually mind when romance isn't the focal point of the story but here... I feel like i've wasted an absurd amount of hours of my time on something completely unfulfilling. I was even getting tired of this novel like 40/50 chapters in but thought i've already read so much that I might as well stick... more>> through it to see if it starts picking up. but alas, it only proceeded to disappoint me more and more as the chapters went on. I want my time back, this really wasn't worth it...

Spoiler

though I can deal with romance not being the focus of a story, this novel takes it too far, especially with the way the plot is handled.

basically, the ending is all just some ridiculous "it was all just a dream" finale but turns out the MC, ML and other characters were stuck in this virtual world crafted to help the ML wake up from his coma. it doesn't really make sense but the author just expects you to accept her reasoning for it all. my main issue with this is that this sort of ending completely negates the impact of EVERYTHING that happens before. not only that, but only the MC and ML remember what happened in the virtual world since all the others, including the mc's annoying best friend, were made to forget everything. so all those trials and tribulations that the other characters within the ensemble faced with the MC and ML all just mean nothing in the end. it's really just a slap in the face, after worrying and wondering if this person or that person will survive, how they'll make it through these instances, turns out it all didn't matter. it's just so annoying wasting time on over 100 chapters of plot that is reduced to zilch. funnily enough, thinking back on it there are so many plot holes that didn't make sense that can be explained by this "virtual world created in the ml's head" narrative. I suppose that's the author's excuse for failing to deliver an overly ambitious story. it was bothering me a bit about no characters except the MC, ML and I guess the mc's best friend were given much character development. none of them felt like they mattered but considering that no one even remembers what happened due to some forced amnesia ending plot, it suddenly made sense why. it was just essentially the MC and the ml's world but then again we're not even giving much of the MC and ml's love together...

like don't get me started on the romance, the plot wasn't even interesting and then the author gives you nothing to chew on with the romance either. the ML is introduced pretty far into the story and that wouldn't have been a big deal if their love would have been shown to steadily develop after. it doesn't. you just have the ML being cold to the MC and then suddenly going out of his way to help him and sacrificing himself at the end of an S-level instance to save the MC. there wasn't any particular build up to enjoy, which is annoying because I was looking forward to seeing how the ml's cold facade would break as he fell for the MC. then the ML after sacrificing himself suddenly develops amnesia and turns into an idiot who is obsessed with the MC, so it's just 0 to 100 with their relationship. it just felt like an all around mess at this point. and then, the MC sacrifices himself this time and dies for 3 months before resurrecting, the ML has got his memories back but is cold again. this time it's obvious that the ML has retained his feelings but refuses to show them until towards the end of another S-level instance where they share an underwater kiss... and then the ML dies sacrificing himself for the MC. it gets just so damn repetitive. like we never really get any moment to sit and enjoy their romance or actually experience the development of their feelings. because one thing or another keeps happening to the MC and the ml, they get separated so much that there isn't even time for them to fall in each other. but that doesn't matter anyway because at the end when the virtual collapses, it's revealed that ML is indeed the mc's "dead" friend, and they both had secret feelings for each other before he "died". so the author just uses that excuses to make up for the fact they didn't bother to write an actual romance... sigh

[collapse]

just an utter waste of time, there's better novels out there with better plot and better romance <<less

The story was okay, there's a shroud of mystery about the Abyss.

The funny thing was, even though MC was a newbie, and the novel was taken from his POV.

The overall scenes was full of MC own action and his actor friend, while so far the ML and his very experienced groups of friends was pretty much background character.

Besides the last 10 chapters and extra, this whole novel is unreadable.

MC is so weak, I find myself unable to support him at all after a while. Weakness MC in a horror world. So ppl who hate weak MC should quit by this point

Nothing ever strings together or coherent. Things keep moving. Nothing ever gets explained. No emotional character developments. Plain game by game. The world is neglected all together.

I do not recommend anybody to read this, I didn't want to read this if there wasn't good translation.

Waste of time.

I don't know if I successfully rated this 2 stars but anyway, dropped this after the second arc. The horror was all over the place. It doesn't seem like the instaces have proper plot. I understand that the MC can't help to worry about shen yuan because of his best friend or whatever but he was so hung up on him, he seemed desperate which pathetic to me (maybe because I read a horror novel where the MC is a badaas). I also can't feel the chemistry between ML and... more>> MC. ML protecting MC doesn't do anything. Mian mian and the MC have more chemistry tbh.

In short, I dropped it because I got bored and nothing is interesting enough for me to continue reading it. <<less

The last few chapters has me like "WTF". I don't wanna say more bcz I know that I'll rant for a VERY long time so I'll just say what think about this story so far:

* Lovable and hilarious best friend Duo going through life and death situations while being hounded by a lonely FINAL BOSS that hasn't watched My Little Pony nor Fairy Tail. (Wait, that was actually good 🤣🤣🤣)

* Inconsistencies here and there especially at a specific term that is most likely racist, making almost everyone including myself... more>> uncomfortable; but the current translator hasn't changed it to this day🙃.

*
Spoiler

With the amount of things that keeps happening ALL THE TIME, I'm getting paranoid and feel like the ML isn't who he claims he is and I'm worried🥲

This is Absolutely Far from what I expected, but not in the bad way. So far, it was Great and very Attractive. It already hook me since the 1st arc/instance.

It has so many different things from many Survival Game I have ever read so far. First, the Friendship theme. The True Precious Hidden Gem in this Novel. The Romance between MC and ML is Very Slow but Sweet, but the Friendship between MC and his Best Friend (NOT ML) is the Most Precious Thing in this Novel!!!

Without TMM (the Best... more>> Friend), probably MC won't last long in the 1st Instance. They both a Jinx aka both are the Most Unluckiest Characters in the story, but they Support each other and able to live so far just even with their Weak Strength but Great Mutual Trust! TMM's role is probably as Equal as ML, though he has more scenes than ML. TMM is NOT a Side kick. Both him and MC are Equal!

Another difference is MC's halo. If not for the fact he's our Protagonist aka have the Luck to still be able to Live, he probably died since the 1st arc with how Unlucky he is. Sure MC is Calmer than Average people when introduced to the Horror, and he is Slightly Smarter than most Ordinary people too. But he still feel Fear, being Scared and Terrified, and NOT a Genius. And his usual thought was "Why him/me?" because when someone being attacked, he always the First or the Longest target. And all his Bad Feelings ALWAYS Right! But he doesn't bring Misfortune or anything, his Unluckiness is toward his own self.

Anyway, I'll recommend you to read this Novel. Because it's really Good. Though the Mysteries still not fully solved yet, and now they're going to fight the BIGGEST Boss at the arc I'm in now. Probably I'm on the last arc? Go try it! <<less

If you're bored of the overpowered MC, here's a scared, chicken-little MC with his best bud going through Horror games. Quite entertaining hahaha. Makes me realise why we like to see those scaredy-cat folks entering horror houses and hear their screams.

aka

Unstoppable action sequence and game instances that just grips your butt!

BL focus is slow but dear lord, the action scenes, the horror.

Game, Live Stream was an exhilarating and hilarious read. I didn't have high expectations for this but it really surprised me. I'm sure you're familiar with Chrysanthemum Garden translations so you know it's a quality and coherent read, but not only that– the comedic banter in this novel was so engaging I was almost choking with humour.

We follow the MC Xiao Tangqiu who is self-employed as a horror-live stream anchor in RL along with his friend and fellow streamer Tang MianMian as they unwittingly download a horror game client that... more>> sends them into a world called the 'Abyss'. Like most horror-survival stories, they must enter game instances ranked from the lowest D-grade to S-grade and upwards then clear them... or die.

Within the Abyss, Xiao Tangqiu stumbles across a man who looks identical to his best friend who died pushing him away from an oncoming vehicle seven years ago. This would be our super powerful, aloof and cold ML.

The thing I adore about this romance would be that despite ML being cold and aloof from the beginning, he's not dislikable. In fact I'd say the author does a pretty solid job in building the foundations of the romance and it doesn't feel forced. From subtext and behaviour alone ML seemed interested in our MC right from their first game instance together. Things do get a little trope-y and irritating throughout the novel, especially in regards to certain BOSS figures. And I do have gripes about the romance itself which I'll elaborate in the spoilers.

I mtl'd the rest of the novel from ch98 onwards and it was readable, the ending was a mind trip. Definitely a twist! I wasn't super satisfied with the ending despite it being HE though.

As for the game instances, they were superbly written but... the author struggled with the BOSS figures quite a bit in my opinion. The storyline itself in each game is so fascinating! I was really hooked– but then it felt a bit suffocating in its conclusions for some of them.

Things I was not exactly happy with, (Warning! Regards Ending of the Novel) :

Spoiler

I didn't like that ML was a coma patient and that Shen Yuan and Meng Xinghe are the same people. That's such a cop-out move? Everything was a fever dream made by Scientist Meng Mama to save her son from his brain-dead state??? Are you for real? I felt a bit betrayed, like they've erased Shen Yuan as an individual character? I shipped QiuQiu with Shen Yuan not Meng Xinghe. It was like the author couldn't pick who would be the love interest and just merged the entities together. Why couldn't QiuQiu have platonic brotherly loss and friendship with Xinghe, gradually learning to accept his death and move on? The author ALMOST grasped that feeling of bittersweet parting during the illusion/fantasy aspect with the Sword of Light (?) arc but then just completely smashed it towards the conclusion of the novel?? the fact that QiuQiu lets Xinghe go... then doesn't... the fact that everyone lives in the end... It just felt like the author feared killing off ANY characters permanently. It made the concept of death, loss and sacrifice seem like a complete joke?

[collapse]

I'm sure some people like that sort of HE, but it cheapens the entire storyline for me. Part of being alive is dying. Part of cherishing a person is fearing the concept of losing them. Part of a good survival horror is the feeling of grief. When you take away the risk aspect of a survival horror, you turn a brilliantly well written, comedic and scary story into a duller version of itself.

When compared to Kaleidoscope of Death, GLS just... didn't live up to its potential.

But god were the banter parts hilarious! And it was truly scary for some parts!

Which is why I give it 5 stars. Because it did successfully keep me engaged until the end, just not as EPIC as it could have been if the author was just a little bit more ruthless. Still worth the read.

The first arc was full of mystery and kept you on edge, the horror it showcased kept you awake at night, honestly, I was scared. After that, ML was so adorable with his constant attachment and selling meng to MC. Simply cute. I loved that short moment. However, when you think how unreasonable the hardship MC had gone through is, you'd even say he was useless throughout the game, you'd think 'is he still the protagonist?' The endless high level difficulty of the game and how they barely go through and it is NOT specifically even fun or meaningful experience because the game mechanics just downgraded (for me) maybe the author couldn't come up with something better because it's only a subline on the main story. There was no concrete development with the MC. Anyway, I find the game plot sad, and lacking. ALTHOUGH THE FINAL PART EXPLAINED ALL OF IT, and I understood why it all happened with MC's tr*sh luck, mysteries were answered but not satisfying enough to make me feel good about it. Maybe it really is true that facts are the least interesting of all thats why we indulge in rumors.

Lastly, the final chapter is kinda hanging 'cause it could be interpreted in another way, like ... more>>

maybe MC was still stuck in another illusion caused by the ML

with his last response and all of that, left me hanging, intensified my dissatisfaction with the book. Truly, I'm only happy they're together in the end, real or not.

A decent novel, not the best horror game novel out there but it was okay.

MC is an ordinary guy, you would expect him to grow throughout the story (to grow stronger) but he doesn't and I am a bit dissapointed because of it. It's not that I wanted an overpowered MC, just more strong so he is not that dependent on the ML.

ML is your typical overpowered ML but he has his problems with his power which you will see through the story. A misterious man... more>> because of the similarities between him and MC's childhood friend.

I was a bit shocked when I knew how MC entered this game.

This is good. The BL hasnt really started yet but Im already on this boat! The relationship between the ML and his bestfriend is one of the strongest bromance...I agree with one of the watchers who said they look like two bunnies hudled together. The MC is really not OP at all, tbh his the weakest in the group and his trump card really sucks but his not annoying in his weakness, he doesn't expect anyone to save him while wallowing in misery, for all his weakness his really a... more>> BAMF. If only I can rate this novel more than 5 stars, this novel is a huge journey. So many tears, but it all ended well. I'm sure some of you already figured out a little detail, soon it will be fully clear so keep on reading. If you are curious and wanted to know more, I recommended reading the raw but using the google translate. I did it for a few novels and they are readable.
