During a party one evening in the royal palace, Rachel, the eldest daughter of Duke Ferguson, was reproached by Prince Elliot for sins she didn’t remember committing and their engagement was abandoned. Rachel informed everyone she had not committed the acts they were accusing her of, but she was dragged away out of the party venue and thrown into the palace dungeon.

And so Rachel thought,

“Hooray for my slow doing-whatever-I-want life! No more queen’s education, no more noisy servants–today marks the start of my long vacation!”

Between enjoying all of the preparations she had made for this very occasion and constantly harassing the annoying Prince, Rachel is going to enjoy her slow prison life to the fullest!

I thought this would be one of those lame stories where common sense promptly flies out the window and the characters would soon become utter idiots.

I tried it anyway. And with the prince, I wasn't disappointed.

But I soon found that it was MY own common sense flying out the window as I reached the end of the second chapter. At which point, I stood up and applauded.

Wow, this is definitely a five out of five. This LN is essentially a big pot of crack. Need something to cheer you up? Look no further, this LN will satisfy all of your needs. The basic premise is simple: A sociopath noble girl troll the f*** out of the prince who unjustly imprisoned her. The FL trolling skills have reached a legendary level; it's extremely funny to see her trolled the prince and put the middle finger to common sense in general.

The best way to summarize this story would be "Tom and Jerry", a cat whose a cartoon villain and tries to eat the mouse but gets outwitted every step of the way. It's a shallow, but mildly refreshing novel that focuses on nothing but comedy and face slapping. I'm very glad that there's not an ounce of romance in this novel, for it would have ruined the flow of this story tremendously. Rather than Josei though, I would have labeled this shoujo myself.

that said, the plot and it's characters aren't... more>> deep. Everyone besides Rachel and her allies are idiots and the prince is nothing but a flimsy paper antagonist to allow Rachel's schemes come to fruition. Rachel herself is just OP, full stop. There's no tension, everyone knows Rachel is going to win, and the plot never becomes more than "idiot prince tries to harass Rachel but gets his ass handed to him" with increasingly fanatical schemes. The ending is rather unfulfilling and anticlimactic but I still enjoyed it to a certain degree. <<less

Was interesting in the beginning. I love a good psychopath MC, but after staying in the dungeon for too long maybe it eroded her brain and personality. MC has elite shadow team and capable people yet chooses to stay inside dungeon? Ok fine. But just staying there while idiot Prince with his losee idiot followers try to fight her with their s*upid attempts was funny after one or two times, but it just went on for too long. MC might have the patience to deal with these idiots, but I... more>> certainly don't. <<less

The story begins with an idiotic prince who breaks off his engagement with the female lead and asks her to be imprisoned in the dungeons. Thinking this might be one of the usual tropes where the FL repents and is given a second chance, I was about to drop it. However, after reading the second chapter, I was amazed.

Spoiler

Turns out the FL is a psychopath from young and was just holding back her inner demons for the sake of the engagement. Once the engagement is broken, she enjoys a jolly life in the dungeon by locking it from the inside and ends up having tea, snacks, books already placed inside by her spies. My favorite part was when she threatened the idiotic prince with a crossbow.

Its a pretty unique novel. It was very fun the first few chapters then kind of became repetitive ? I found the pace not to my liking. And the humor very try hard at points.

It's a hilarious novel if it's your style otherwise it's not. I would recommend try reading it and judge for yourself. Its a okay novel for me personally but dropped because the characters were too much.
Spoiler

I mainly dropped after her brother admitted to having in*est like feelings towards his sister. There's some casual jokes on s*xual harassment that I dislike so dropped. There's also tonnes of bullying buy the MC to the degree the victims got PTSD.

[collapse]

I know this is a novel more focused on humor but some things went too far for me.

Have you ever thought to yourself... hmm how do I learn to be a troll and yet still be as elegant as a noble? Well, you have just found the perfect text book!

This is a comedic twist on the typical villainess novel and slow life genre.. of course peppered to the brim with ultimate trolling skill. Why scheme against other royalty when you can just troll them as they danced around your palm.. why worry so much when you can enjoy a slow life, as you dine upon your adversaries’s... more>> misery and drink their salty tears!!

Truly.. Such a perfection to the art of living!

Spoiler

Day 1

Prince: Haha take this! You are now my prisoner!

Rachel: Hm hm hmmm.. Really? *sips tea*

Day 3

Prince:Please just leave already...

Rachel: *sips cup of prince’s tears*

Rachel is like the best drug trafficker / corrupt politician that is having better life inside the jail aka: her own central of operations reinforced, there is not much plot, I love Rachel nevertheless, she is so BAMF and Psycho

This is pretty good. Instead of the usual otome villainess cliche and tropes we have a psycho noble daughter who defies common sense and just does whatever she wants.
The humor is pretty funny too.

To be honest it's not that good, the storyline is kinda dull.

I've read various novels centered around the idea that the villainess doesn't actually want to end up with their fiancée and so I thought I had an idea of what to expect. Let me say it isn't like the others whatsoever.

I honestly don't know what vibes the author was going for; it's strange mix between crack-ish comedy and actual drama plot.

The MC just spends her time not doing anything but teasing the prince and then the gets praised because... more>> wow so cool you managed to annoy the prince!

They constantly say that the MC is only playing around with him, and if she really got serious she'd deal with him in two minutes but you never really see it in action.

The prince has a brain cell and a half and same with the heroine.

The characters all have strange personalities and they aren't fully fleshed out, while the side characters are easy to forget.

Honestly I read this till the end hoping it would get better but it didn't.

There's no point or end goal, just stringing you from one chapter to the other. Even the comedy here is weak, it's things like I set your bu*t on fire or you don't understand how I got things into this prison cell without you noticing. TLDR: If you came for a serious novel this isn't it, if you came for comedy this isn't it either. It's more of a vague parody of other novels that belong to this genre. <<less

It's a great comedy that consistently has me laughing.

Most chapters involve the MC either trolling her captors, or outwitting them when they attempt to turn the tables on her.

Besides this, there isn't much of a plot, so I'd recommend not binge reading it in order to keep the humor fresh.

This is comedy gold. It starts out pretty slow and kind of boring, but I am at the part where she writes her own novel. And the last part of the story has me crying with laughter!

I don't even f'ing know, after reading all the positive reviews I had incredibly high expectations for this book. Needless to say I was majorly let down. All the humor was super stale, there was none of those supposed "great wits" nor any kind of "mental torture" for the main characters enemies I was so looking forward to. I mean the ideas were on level of "MC plays trumpet at night, the prince cannot sleep" Wtf? That's pathetic and childish?

Very boring novel, ranks super high in the stale-scale even when... more>> it comes to slice of life stories. All the regular slice of life interactions were basically just skipped with simple explanations. How it seemed to me was like "She painted her cells walls with majestic pictures" then 2 paragraphs explanation and her exclaims how it turned out, and that's supposedly the slice of life content?

Rest of the novel was just copy format (person A visits the cell) -> (mocks MC) -> (suddenly realizes shes living the good hikky life) -> (y-you can't do that!! How are you this clever!!) -> end of chapter

Truly a disappointment. This was one of the stories I'd been saving up to cheer me up on boring rainy days. <<less

I sat down and read this in a six hour sitting. I will have to say, if anything, it was quite impressive that the author could make up so many scenerios about a single setting and a limited amount of characters to fit two volumes. That being said this story dragged on wayyyy to long. Honestly, 10 chapters would have been ideal, but instead it gets dragged on and on... While an interesting idea, this novel does not fare too well in then long haul, it gets a bit stale,... more>> repetitive, and boring

Especially when you consider a lot of just convenient how the MC is a Mary Sue more and more. Beautiful, tall, smart, mature, calm, etc etc. I get that this is a comedy but it gets played off to me as a wish fufillment story more and more as the story progresses. And there are a lot of chapters where its not exactly funny, like the prince trying to kill Rachel, stuff like that. The novel tries to make a lot of things comedic but quite a few miss their mark.

It’s alright, I read it to pass time traveling, but honestly it was a chore to finish. <<less

The story was nice and funny at the beginning, but after a while the idea of having strong women and s*upid men is reported for all the characters which was a little bit boring. I think the writer didn't have a lot of story lines and the ending was a shock for me. Never thought I regret reading this novel and wasting my time to have one of the worst ending that I ever red.

Simple and elegant. Delightfully devious. The MC skillfully manipulates the antagonists, turning their provocation into profit. She is living her best life; meanwhile my skin is cleared and my crops are watered with all this karma.

Was interesting at first but gets repetitive and boring.

Its mainly written for a light read, so dont expect a plot with depth or any charcater development. The entire plot is catered to the fact that all the relevant characters are dull and cannot outsmart the psychopath MC. There are no ingenious plans or clever ideas, just dumb ideas by the prince and convenient counters by the black belly, all powerful MC.

This novel truly lives up to its status as one of comedy genre. The mc's antics are so hilarious that I had tears in my eyes. It's a good novel if you're in mood for having a good laugh really.

This could have been a one-shot. it was entertaining at first. I genuinely laughed and had fun with the absurdity of the story and the characters. A+ concept

However, there is not nearly enough substance to justify the length. The more background and characters are introduced, the more the entire premise falls apart to the point it is PAINFUL to continue. by the halfway mark I did not care in the slightest about the backstories of the random side characters (or the main characters tbh), as they could have been summed... more>> up in a sentence (and had been already) rather than have entire dedicated chapters. Those chapters gave us NOTHING NEW (and half the characters cld hv been cut).

If anything, fleshing out an absurd concept does not make it MORE grounded. it just breaks your suspension of disbelief and highlighs how poor the storys logic is. leaving the actual past events to our imaginations would have made it easier to overlook problems by focusing on the humor & moving on.

furthermore, if you want a plot... there isnt one. There is maybe 2 chapters total that inpire any vauge concept of suspence. its more like reading a collection of newspaper comic strips, or watching a marathon of Tom & Jerry. I highly doubt it would even be necessary to read the chapters in order with how episodic they are. <<less
