He returned from the hopeless future!

In the midst of the clash between gods and devils, Hansung begins his journey.

Oh Hansung, the ultimate hero bearing the class Magic Swordsman and the only titled Hero left in the world destroys the evil cult: The Order of Alethea who worship Chronos, the God of Time, whom his friend Minshik is a part of. After the cult’s destruction, Minshik who is in a state beyond repair spoke out with these words: “If our God reversed the flow of time, I wanted to be a greater hero than you…”

From destroying a Demon Dragon to the Demon King, and finally, to where Hansung is killing things that are even worse, the hero is stuck in an endless cycle of suffering until he dies. In a miraculous event, Minshik’s ring, a ring Hansung kept after his friend’s death started to glow in his dying breath and caused him to reincarnate into the past. Unfortunately, Hansung and Minshik are reincarnated into the time where Hansung’s parents died in a car crash and he’s forced to live with his somewhat abusive uncle, wherein two years’ time many monsters will start invading. Minshik starts out immediately to gain the class Magic Swordsman and doesn’t realize Hansung also reincarnated. In his concealed state Hansung formulates his plan to save the world by going after an even stronger class.

From the author of Dungeon Hunter and King of the Battlefield. You can tell that straight away.

The same situation (Regression/Monster Invasion/Awakening Humans/72 Demons), Same Game System (even damn status screen is the same), Same (type of) MC.

It feels like author rewriting same story for the third time.

Still, that story doesn't fail to provide somewhat decent entertainment. So 4 Stars.

The amount of cheats is just too much. These time reverse stories really tick me off, feel like these guys just can't win without walkthroughs, such noobs. I believe this kind of story will fall short. Before long, the author will definitely struggle to supply worthy antagonists to fight MC cheats. The story will become dull over time and plot collapsed with a large amount of face slapping.

Just to clarify clearly, MC already have:

It's pretty much your standard time travelling story (world goes to shit, MC one of last survivors, at his death he wakes up a couple of years before the world went to shit,...), but with a novel twist. That's not why I gave it 1 star (I'd give it 3.5 stars if it weren't for the following).

I gave it 1 star because there's a massive, gigantic, tremendous plot hole in what appears to be one of the main mechanics of the novel. I can't explain what it is because it... more>> would be a spoiler, so read ahead at your own peril.

Spoiler

This is a comment I posted on the chapter I'm dropping the novel at, and it should explain what I mean:

How long is it going to take the MC to realise that there's no pause when he switches bodies? That for every day he spends in his real body, the Demon Lord spends 2 days as a statue, and every day he spends in the Demon Lord's body, his real body spends 12 hours as a sack of meat. (Not to mention that, IIRC, the first time he did it, there was no time dilation.)

This isn't an opportunity, this is downright crippling. His (both bodies') enemies would have to be monumentally s*upid not to notice that he's only awake every now and then, not to mention the people he's close to (Demon Lord's daughter, the Saintess, the other time-travelling dude,...).

I might as well drop it now, seeing as how this issue can only be resolved by using the idiot plot. We've already had an example of it when the other Demon Lord apparently spent days watching the MC's Demon Lord body being a statue but had nothing to say about it.

Everything is handed to the MC in a silver platter. There are no worthwhile struggles, no character development what so ever. The protagonist is so unrelatable that you couldnt careless about him. The amount of cheats he also has as of the time I drop this is too many that it's not even funny anymore. If the previous things I've mentioned doesnt raise any flags, then IDK what will. Consider yourself warned

Isekais for Japanese, Cultivation for Chinese and Mosterpocalypse Timetravel LITRPG for Koreans (we need a better name).

There are several korean novels similar to this one and you've probably read at least one. The question is, how does it fare against the others? Not well.

This at least has a more interesting premise than most, since more than one person returned in time making it more dynamic, and the MC's soul also changes bodies, between himself and a Demon Lord in another dimension. This makes the novel more interesting, or should have,... more>> at least. You discover this in the first 5 chapters, so it's not a spoiler.

Now, why doesn't it work since the premise is better?

First, excessive rambling/exposition/foreshadowing. Most of the written content is spent inside the MC's head. Something happened? Then the MC will go on a rant about what said action/thing/person is, was or will be, sometimes all at once. It reminds me of tr*sh of The Count's Family, only worse. This breaks pacing and very little actually happens in each chapter.

Second, Plot Armor. MC came from the future and you'd guess he would use that knowledge to get OP things, right? Nope, aside from his 'class', up to chapter 40+ he's stumbling into OP stuff by chance, and there's a lot of them even though the plot has barely progressed. albreo exemplified it in his review, so I'll leave it at that, just know that it's not due to time travel but dumb luck/plot armor.

Third, lack of tension and boring battles. Since he's so OP most battles end up in a few hits without any emotion to them. It's always a matter of having more stats or a powerful skill to win a fight, descriptions are also lackluster. Most of the written content is him finding new cheats and a long exposition of them inside his head, then he uses said cheat and battle over. Add this to the fact that it's usually against random monsters that never last for more than one encounter, and you can see how boring it is.

Fourth, generic magic system. There's a RPG-like system with stats, classes and skills. Ppl that get lucky find good classes, skills and the blessed have high potential which is kindof like max level. It's not about intelligent use of them either, all skills have ranks F-S and unless one has A or S rank skills, they suck!

The system is also too random and stinks of plot armor. After killing monsters they gain stats, how much and which stats is completely up to the author. Makes you wonder why have a system in the first place, which also has a very generic explanation of why it exists: the gods did it! The story wouldn't lose anything if the system was removed, and in fact I think it would be quite better without it. I could ramble about how the System makes no sense in this novel a lot more, but I'll stop here.

If you have low expectations, high patience for excessive exposition and bad worldbuilding, you might enjoy this, else it'll probably frustrate you as it did me. <<less

Love it, I hope the whole story stays this good! Its one of the ones like Reincarnator or King of the battlefield or Doom lord - where the MC comes back to before the apocalypse and will live through it again, growing more powerful than ever before.

It has some new twists though that are refreshing to see as they bring original flavor to the story

Looking forward to the rest of this!

So far so good. I like the premise. A bit of a twist included. Since its early chapters I'll say this...

[Slight Spoiler]
Spoiler

The main character fights against his best friend who has gone to the dark side during the apocalypse. The friend uses dark magic to go back in time, but the MC ends up swept up too. The mc's journey to keep it a secret and get stronger as his friend does his best to make up for his mistakes.

It was a good and awesome story up to ch.6 until it was dropped.

Although the tropes was actually common, but it was combined to bring a new take to the tropes.

The plots also seems well written and actually well thought.

How the hell does this novel have so many negative opinions!? I know only 6 chapters are released rn but I really enyoyed reading them. I want more. GIMME MORE OF IT GOD DAMMIT!

Anyways, the start is really good. It is really simmilar to Dungeon Hunter, probably placed in the same world but different timeline or sth like that. If you liked that novel, you'll definitely like this one too. Even if you didn't like it, I'd still recomend it cause I feel like this one has more potential than... more>> DH. <<less

honestly I don't know why the rating of this novel is so low, I mean so far this sh*t is good as " I am the monarch" or "the king of the battlefield" (imo) so I really suggest you to at least try to read the first 5 chapters.

so the MC return from the future in the past when he died against a shitty level calamity monster after kicking the ass of some ret*rded cult which worship the monsters and one of them was his best friend, I mean... more>> ex best friend.

this was the premise after you read the prologue but holy sh*t chapter 5 changed a lot of things and I'm looking forward the next chapters, therefore don't be scared about the rating.

EDIT: It seems like this novel has been sadly dropped. The publishers intend to put the translations into a halt, most likely permanently. Unfortunately, because it was so good too. Unfortunately, I caught up with the latest chapter. This novel in itself is a jewel. Same author to Dungeon Hunter and King (Incarnation) of the Battlefield. They're both very similar and extremely well-done.

I don't have much a review, but I have a recommendation. This novel illustrates Korean dungeons similar to Reincarnation stories, but with several wells thought out new tropes. The cliches are there, but this is new. Very very new. Although, one concerning factor is that the MC is op. As expected, if you cannot handle an op MC, then this might not be for you. But! The difference from this to other novels is the way the MC takes his SECOND CHANCE.
Spoiler

First off, he is the last hero in the entire world. Meaning he is practically the strongest person. After he went back in time, he discovers more than when he left his previous life. Confused? Let me explain.

He gets the ability to transfer his soul into the Demon King he slew. Using that information, he slowly albeit fast enough (to make readers think he is "OP"), he learns of higher, insidious, stronger beings than the beings he faced in his previous life. For example, the 72 Demon King/Gods/Lords (Taken from King of the Battlefield - Same franchise), the Four Heavenly Kings and most importantly, Colossus beings such as the "Great Star". He learns of these beings and vows to kill them off while maintaining his act like a normal recently awakened human in front of his other heroes.

He gets stronger every day but is still weaker than most of the beings in the world, who ignore his existence just because he is weak. Therefore, he is not OP, but he has the POTENTIAL to be op. Us readers see him as op because the author wrote it to describe his variability among other humans, not with comparative to the colossus beings.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Another thing. The main character was dragged into the past with another person/friend. This man believes he is the only one who time-traveled, so that's why the MC acts weak or stubborn. The MC says he wants to be in the shadows, unknown amongst the rest of the world. But he is naive. Imagine saying you want to be a different person while knowing you were carrying the responsibility of the world. He wanted this other person to replace him, yet he believes that he couldn't because this person used to be evil. Therefore, the MC will once be a person who will once again be the person of his past life; something that might happen.

My evidence?
- He is infuriated at the colossus beings for destroying humanity as he knows it in the future.
- Gets stronger every day, despite knowing the other person will most likely replace him.
- The MC is the MC. This other person isn't, if this guy represents humanity, without knowing what the MC has to face then he would be in an endless doom.
- Etc.

[collapse]

This review is just an opinion.
This book is exactly like King of the Battlefield (Another 5 Star imo). So if you enjoy that, you will enjoy this.

It gets boring quick because of so many long explanation of stats (yes, stats, not the skill itself), it feels like reading kindergarten math where they explained I have two candies, my uncle ate one, how many candies I have left?one of course.

.... also, I don't really like how his old friend was written as a character, it feels like he was given some seriously low IQ just to make the MC shine as the only logical man who can weigh pros & cons and do right on their 2nd... more>> life.

Another of my issue is how quickly and deeply he mingled with his past comrades, I kinda wish he doesn't get too involved, or at least limit himself...

Spoiler

and here at ch.20 he already revealed so many shits to his ex-comrade-gf and make a "let this be our little secret moment" kind of vibe.

Kinda kills the "A power in the shadows" path that he formerly aimed to take.

[collapse]

That really makes me have low expectation for the future.. also

Spoiler

the fact that he seems to be proud about being a ladies man in his past life, makes me suspicious about the future part of the novel. Hopefully it's just my assumption, I'll just follow for now, kinda dislike when the romance started too quickly and the MC being too greedy for pusi.

Also another thing that raises another suspicion was how he acted to the girl based on his future-self past experience, it feels like he is aiming for affection points for bachelorette in some rpg

How are people rating this 1 star, its a good story just like the other stories written by the author, yes they have a generic plot, however the story doesn't drag on for a thousand chapters with a boring structure. His other books were well written with minor issues because of the authors health condition. The stories manage to leave a great tale behind, if people who read his other book, dungeon hunter, they would understand how nicely the main characters were written. The author keeps the main characters to... more>> a minimum unlike most novels where you get a dozen chapters in every arc and then they are forgotten. I would love a sequel to dungeon hunter, the ending was crying for a sequel. <<less

Issue 1: infantile writing at junior high school level of quality

Issue 2: nearly random stream-of-thought unplanned actions of MC

Issue 3: every stated aim of MC is immediately contradicted by MC's actions making him an amazing hypocrite

As far as I have read it is absolutely exceptional the story completely dragged me in in less than two chapters. However, there is nothing much to really review because there are only 6 translated chapters and a prologue so I can only sincerely hope that there will be more chapters soon.

Biggest issue for this novel is the writing. The author seems to like making small changes to already established story that makes no sense in order to push the character in some direction they want. It clashes with itself and makes everything feel random even though the character plans it out.

Interesting premise but the MC gets too OP too fast. There is no tension in fights and the author keeps throwing in lucky powerups one after another. There is no incentive to keep on reading because it's boring compared to other stories of the same genre.

It was good. The MC is strong and he has a normal brain. Pacing is decent. Character is decent. It's not just copy-paste second chance KR novel. There are many originality. But the final arc was meh. I even skipped to the ending. I would rate the final arc 3 star and the other part of the novel 5 star.

What's unique on this novel is that the MC is not the one who really gets "back in time/2nd Chance" but he's more like the one who got swept/collateral one to it. And on this 2nd chance that he gets MC decides to walk a different path compared to his former one.

Well the novel seems promising, the plot and twists are pretty refreshing to.

It has an interesting plot but there's a lot of cheat available for the MC. While it's cool at first but as the novel progresses, it gets boring. This novel is perfect if you just need something to read in case you're bored.
