Xia Liang remembered the first time they met, she nodded to him but he coldly turned his eyes away. But after she had heard his voice, she helplessly became his diehard fan. Song Qiyan remembered the first time they met, she nodded to him but he tightly held his sweaty palms and turned his eyes away. He feared that she would be burned by his gaze. He thought that it was time to act after waiting for a year. In Xia Liang’s eyes, Song Qiyan was first known as “Bei Yan Dada”. After she interacted with him, she had to add additional new labels: quiet, caring, stubborn, reserved…Then after they started dating: thoughtful, loyal, occasionally naïve, childish…

This is the story of a lesser internet CV (Character Voice-over) who meets a big idol in the professional voice over circle.

Note: 大大, “dada,” is web slang for “the great”.

Cute. Fluffy. Silly. Normal.

This is an ordinary love story by college students who fell in love and cherish their moment together.

It's a refreshing short story without any annoying side characters.

This is good ^^

I mean, it's a light read that can accompany you during those calm and lazy afternoon. It's like your afternoon tea 😌

The one thing I really appreciated in this novel is the way the characters seemed human. They're not overly beautiful, they're not some god who can do everything excellently, or some ice cubes that dont have much emotions or reactions. Oh! And I love how the author also narrates the guy's thoughts and feelings. That's rare! 😁

Even though the synopsis makes it seem like this is story about the entertainment circle, it's actually a campus story. A heartwarming and easy read. I also thought it was cute how the author related the chapters to the reflect the seasons of the year, bringing things full circle after a year of schooling. I do think there are other stories out there that nail this type of slice-of-life better. The characters, though likable, felt rather bland and generic, which took away some of the story's punch.

A light novel. Full of fluff and sweetness especially the ML. I felt like I ate dog food after they got together. No angst or drama at all. A love at first sight that bloomed into true love.

Ohhh boi, that was a fun read... short, fun and a little bit lacking; but then again, a good story is just something that will fulfill its own story and end, well at least that's what I think it should be. I mean, think about it, a story that drags so f*cking long just doesnt make sense, doesnt it? How could it not be? Ohhh well... mhhh this will just be my short thoughts on the WN... anyway, I shall begin shitposting~

I do fancy romance for its simplicity yet vivid world, who couldnt? Everything in this world will revolve in at least 3 things. Food, sleep and s*x. I mean, well for the me the 3rd part prolly will go down the drain, but that's alright! I can always get isekaied and have my harem life there, so for me; to romanticized affectionate love through text and the beyond is something that is divine but at the same time.... how do I put it... lacking? Simply put it in this, I feel like "Tea of Summer" is a work that is fulfilled yet at the same time lacking (for a lack of better term)... It's a work with too little and too much to cover that I feel like, there was no in-between yet at the same time, after reading it; I felt complete.

The setting is you're ummmm usual, boy meets girl kind of thing. Well in this case, they didnt met in Highschool rooftop or they didnt met in the hallway and for some reason, they fell in love to each other. It's a work that, in a two perspective are like; how the heroine met the dude that's literally out of his reach, and the dude who has always want to reach her. It's kinda funny that, the setting doesnt matter but the flow of time is very relaxing when I read the WN. The heroine being dense is surely one of its kind... who woulda thunk it that a female character is dense? Like... not the dude? WOWOWOWOWOW WTF is this right? RIGHT? Ohhh and she's actually beautiful and she just doesnt know it? And that she's actually CV (look at the plot summary), it's very interesting that throughout the WN, the distinct difference of denseness quality are subtle and gentle that I feel like, "hey this is kinda not bad", for what reason is it? I dunno, prolly because the WN is quite short.

The MC is like I think, ok I'd say this shortly but it's prolly better for me not to say it except this: finish the WN so you'd know him more, the ending pretty much explains his side imo.... Like there's that... but then again, how the MC slowly started to court her and then that... was quite refreshing... How do I put it, it has that subtle balance... it wasnt too short, and at the same time, it wasnt too stretched out for me to not get f*cking tilted... He slowly starts to open up his FLUFFFFFF which is mmmhhh, I mean.... yes.... very very nice indeed.... gimme that fluff flufff flufffff....

Now going back, I felt like at most; romance WN I've read had this "foreplay" far too stretched out, clearly; shall we blame the dense MC that's too f*cking depress for being in-love to heroine whose literally out of his reach? Or shall we blame the fact that it's literally always tooooo easy to stretch it out? Like there this thin margin of me actually riding FLUFFF moments until I hit that certain breakpoint of author just cucksucking "SEXXXX NO GO BEFORE MARRIAGE!!!! SEXXX NO GO BEFORE MARRRIAGE" like the f*cking template and the f*ckery of it all and be followed. Like I get it, depiction of platonic relationship are the absolute peak meta of romance... BUT there is a point where it's just f*cking ridiculous at this point. I dont f*cking know, who in this goddamn world will date someone with no s*x for like 2 years... At this point on both are prolly already cheating at each other, for me "Tea of Summer" isnt complete because I still feel like I'm still in that "foreplay" mood... like even if passage of time had indicated it's done, I still had that crave for more, but I know that isnt the point for which why a story is good, for me it's good because it ended in that sweet spot where it ought to land that just fulfill that margin of longing in my heart for it happen and for that wonderful to be played vividly in my mind and like me gasping "wow... so it's like that huh", this WN had at that time and moment, and I like that excitement that it brought. Surely, I want them to see the time they spend more together, I want to see them grow more affectionate at each other even if the passage of time within the WN has already fulfilled it and reading it is very very pleasant but short lived, although that on itself is a good thing.

The conclusion of the WN is something I prolly wont talk about it... simply because, it's a moment in the WN that I want people to witness and feel on their own.

Such a sweet, light, and simple love story. Both MC and ML fell in love with each other at the first sight (but in different occasion). MC loves ML's magnetic voice and ML loves MC's bright smile.

This novel literally has no conflict or drama. It's centered only on our ML and MC. It's a bit bland though and maybe some find it a bit boring. But for you who seek a simple and quick story to read, I reccomend this novel for you.

So fluffy and sweet! Really short and easy enough to read in an afternoon. Pure sweetness. No drama.

Spoiler

The final chapter was my favourite! When he tells her how he had liked her all along, well before she even noticed him...*my heart*

Very satisfying read. If your not into slow paced but steady romance then I won't recommend this, but if your willing to try then I think the mild sweetness with a dash of fluff and an entre of satisfaction will fill you with content and delight. MC and ML have good chemistry. ML is very caring and quite a schemer in terms of getting more dates with the MC ??. MC on the other hand is very caring and naive. It's not those annoying kind but more so on the... more>> cute side of the spectrum. Quite similar to Really, Really miss you but this one focus a lot more on the 2 leads and their slow paced and steady build up in their relationship status. Very cute novel. N I thoroughly enjoyed it! <<less
