TL;DR, great for 90% of the story, then just gets lost for some time and ends abruptly not resolving much of anything.

I don't know why the end was so abrupt. Was the author cancelled or something ? Some of the author notes indicate something like that. Possibly the story just wasn't planned ahead well and the author couldn't think of a good ending and got tired from the story, so you get a weird mix.

It starts as a pretty grim body horror, then and for the... more>> bulk of the story it becomes a story about acting with some fantasy elements including time travel in later parts and ever decreasing amounts of horror. Up to here, the transitions still work. The novel is very enjoyable and I would have given this story a five out of five. But at about the 80% mark the main mystery of the story starts being dealt with, but the resolution and pacing are all over the place. The mystery resolves in a way that doesn't make much sense, but there is no time as the plot now starts resembling The Terminator 2, and you are on a horse, and there is an app for that, and then the story ends.

Confused ? Annoyed ? You will be much more if you actually read the whole story and encounter that ending. Maybe being prepared ahead of time will help.

The relationship between the FL and ML is lacking and unfulfilling. Wasn't the ML just about to destroy humanity ? How do we just skip over that to a happy ending ? This is a serious red flag people. Don't commit to people that are willing to destroy the human race out of boredom.

It really bugs me we don't really get the full story of the mother, nor is there any sense of closure on that relationship.

The fact the main villain just dies off screen without us learning much about him is somewhat weird. We also learned very little on the Life Theater AI/spirit or what it means to be the owner.

Absolutely amazing. No words. I'd recommend a 100 times over. I binge read it in two days.

Its an incredible experience and a plot that has never been seen before. It's a mix of comedy, tragedy, romance, horror, any genre you can think of.

You make it look at this and think "Nah" but I'm telling you take a second look and read it.

It is my favorite novel. I've cried, I've laughed, I've been angry but I've never once been disappointed.

Imo, this is a wonderful novel! It really makes you feel for the characters. The storytelling is great. The plot is intense and each arc you would think is better than the last. All I can say is that the final ending arc was just a bit confusing. Might be my fault though because I was speed reading, wanting to finish this novel. I’ll go reread it soon but overall amazing ride. I enjoyed everything about it! :)

I was reading the hypnosis guide. I really thought that this novel would be like the typical horror novel, but I was actually wrong. The first arc/part of the story was the typical transmigration, except with a slightly different setting. Slowly, as I read the story further. Many questions have been bugging me because what is exactly a life theater? Because I read "I Become The Hearthrob In A Horror Movie." The first thought that came to my mind is that it will be the setting that will push the main character forward through its scenes. I was actually right, but the life theater in this story made me feel afraid. You can really feel the horror of the word "life theater" because of the MC's mother, who also used the life theater to hone her acting skills. What became of her and the Life Theater? Enough of my confusing thoughts.

MC has been subjected to being a talentless actor even though she worked hard and her mother was known as the most talented actress. The story started as the MC wanted to hone her acting skills. Before her mother died of cancer, she told her to go to some street (I forgot) where the life theater was. She was having a mental breakdown because her as*h*le director, who was a fanboy of her mother, was really disappointed in her because she was not talented. The director let her act in a scene, but the result was unsatisfactory. So he scolded her with the phrase, "A pity your mother is a talented actress, but you are not. This is where the story started.

I gotta say, I click on this because of someone recommendation about eternal love between man and woman. And God willing it is way beyond my expectation. Especially since I thought the horror tag is just there for decoration, boy was I wrong, so wrong. But never mind the horror, the angst and the tragedy happening all around Ning Ning what make me bawl, especially regarding the 1st arc and the 3rd arc. Its all snot and tears.

I've read the bonus chapter and I gotta say, how it end it... more>> was the best for Shi Tou Ge and Ning'er. Their ending is the only one everything can be tied to, can be perceive as a good end. And I hope, someday sometimes Papa can also join their merry party of life.

A lot of moments/situations and characters were interconnected. Which is very unique for a transmigration novel! The way everyone felt like they're in a web.

Our MC, with a ticket and a theater will keep on transmigrating to hone her acting skills

that's where she got to know the people who'll be close to her, people who she'll fight with, people who she will go against and the love of her life. Some parts were intriguing as, some past that were changed, the present was changed as well. The stories and acting were continuous, which was nice to see. Our MC isn't OP. There were a lot of near death experiences in the present, and a lot of deaths and retakes during her transmigration. There were sad, worrying, helpless, scary, happy, complex, and more emotions in it.

DAMN I LOVE THE ML. I WANT THE ML UGH. EVEN IF THERE ARE ONLY A FEW SCENES OF HIM, HIS CHARISMA IS OVERFLOWING AND HIS MATURITY IS THICCC UGHHH ILY TO HIM SO MUCH TWT He's always there to guide and banter with the MC, and flirt _ (:з」∠) _ he's not perfect but he's up there QwQ WE NEED A SEQUEL HUHUHU... Also, HIS LITTLE BRO IS FINE TOO.

AND WTF IS WRONG WITH OLD CHEN AND EVERYONE GOING WITH HIM. WHAT'S UP WITH NING NING ALWAYS POWERLESS 😭 I THOUGHT SHE WANTS TO BE THE OWNER AH! WHY AND WHAT AND WTF TO THE ML HUHU. ALSO, WHO'S HER FATHER IN THE END 😭 BOSS QU WASNT GIVEN JUSTICE, THE HALL OF MASKS WASNT SAVED (WHY WAS IT SHOWN??). but it wasn't used and it wasn't done. Nothing was said what happened to the other chatacters. Some incidents or parts too. Some were detailed and some, just leaves us hanging, no proper closure (Not just with the ending but with previous arcs too). the theater also remained as mysterious as ever, nothing exposed. Just keeps on sucking people up and evolving.

Hoping the extras would give some infos or justice //cross fingers

I still love them even if it has holes : ( (thank you for the immersive read! Haven't had one for a while. Good enough that it'll be hard to find another good novel.

SO U SHOULD READ IT!

The start and the middle are great, but the ending and final arc are rushed.

We only know what happens to the MC and ML in the ending none of the other characters are even mentioned (what happened to director chen?his son? Papa Qu?teacher Li?), even then we don't exactly know what happened to the MC (is she stuck now? I got that impression from the extras, but they mtl so im not sure). Also there are still so many unanswered questions from earlier chapters.

Overall, recommended but prepare to be disappointed... more>> with the ending. <<less

This novel is... amazing. I'm really picky with transmigration novels and I'm so glad to find out that this novel is beyond what I expected.

The story can be thrilling, scary, heartwrenching, but also surprisingly warm and light-hearted at times. Just be prepared, the rollercoaster of emotions is strong in this one.

The characterization is great. The characters have their own motivation that drives their actions and it's exciting yet thrilling to find out what they were planning one by one.

The worldbuilding is also solid. The "Life Theater" and mysteries surrounding... more>> the place are some of the highlights of this novel and I just kept blown away by the intricacies of the rules and system.

I'm quite convinced the author might be a screenwriter or has some screenwriting experience because the way this story is written is so vivid you can exactly imagine what the author is trying to portray to us readers, it feels like you're watching a movie right in front of your eyes. The "movies" in the story are also really good it can be made as another book of their own IMO.

Overall this might be one of the best novels I've ever read for a long time. <<less

I personally loved and hate this novel. The progress the MC makes in her skills is a nice step by step where no one shows her everything in the beginning and has to actually put effort into it. The emotional aspects were my favorite part in the novel in relation of acting and roles, but not the romance. The Father character is actually my favorite in the entire novel for his flaws and pure love for his daughter. I cried in every scene he suffered and felt happy when he... more>> interacted with his daughter.

Seriously, this is the first novel that gave me second male lead syndrome so bad it's just-ugh! Why the hell would you go with the man who has been with you for one arc rather than the man who has been by your side literally every step of the way. Why would you go for the guy who watched you from the sidelines than the one who supported you countless times. The one who believed in you even when tested or the one who-... Is it the apparent age difference in the beginning? I don't get it. Seriously. Just, gahh!!!

However, this story does truly deserve 5 stars as it is one of the few out of thousands that pops into my head from time to time after reading it years ago. I'm not kidding, this bookworm will tell you this;

"This book is extremely heavy in the feels, relationships, and hard topics in life. There is no censoring in this book. It is extremely detailed and never left me feeling like I was looking at a blank MC in a white room. For someone who has read all of the cliches, this is an extremely satisfying read." <<less

Before reading:

Many readers recommended this and currently the rating is 4.7 which meant it's a really really awesome story.

What made me reluctant to start reading is the TRAGEDY tag. I don't wanna cry and being mellow all day because of a tragedy novel, even if it's a good one.

I cried, a lot, since the end of her first transmigration. In every arch (movie) she star in, there's a time that I bawl like a crybaby.

But the story is so good, eventho it's TRAGEDY there's also a closure to every arch (so far).

Edited : giving 4 because the ending feels a bit rushed. Maybe it's because I read the mtl tho. But I'm glad it ended where it ends.

I have to review this. It's a sin to not to.

This is one of the best chain reincarnation type novel. I cried. Forget 2d robotic system that seems to have no context! This one got a supernatural, horror-y "system" instead, and let me tell you that there's definitely a story there. The "system" is more similar to a devil beguiling you to sell your... more>> soul. It's eerie, a bit nerve-wracking, but tasted so delicious that you couldn't help but keep asking for more.

Although, I have to admit that its last arc is a bit of a flop for me, the earlier arcs made up for its shortcomings. Try it, and read at least 55-ish chapter before you decide. <<less

So this novel is amazing. I have to admit, just the title put me off for the longest time. It sounded like some kind of lame B-rated QT novel that was kind of out there and not particularly interesting. But actually reading it proved me wrong. It has incredible depth, story, and characterization and is absolutely worth reading.

The MC starts off with nothing to lose, and gets involved with a supernatural phenomena that changes her entire life. From then on, she gets involved in some horror, mystery, as well as... more>> heart warming interactions with characters whose lives she influences and changes. She gets what she initially wanted but it's not so easy to walk away when everyone close to her has been influenced or trapped by what changed her life and when her actions helped changed their lives.

This character is not some kind of overpowered Mary Sue - what she can do is often quite limited, and she has to protect herself as well. But she's not some heartless monster either. Her thoughts and actions also follow logical progression and make sense, and she's an easy character to emphasize with who also grows reasonably throughout the story. Really looking forward to what happens next and the the author and translator both did an incredible, phenomenal job. <<less

I hated the fact that all of the comments before mine are absolutely CORRECT! I came in full of bias, wanting the story to follow the cookie cutter development of a “transmigration/time travelling/life rewind” story - but migosh! It is more than that. I found myself screaming nooooooo when I reached the final translated chapter.

You owe it to yourself. Give this a try.

I am going to give this story some time. It's a story about character growth... So she isn't a badass (right now) who is perfect and cold and merciless. (AKA the superspy female trope who is really just a guy character with b**bs, perfect skin, and a random ass medical degree.) She starts out as a pushover, but chapter 5 cemented my interest because this is the chapter you realize how steep and dangerous the learning curve is... Not just for her, but for those around her. The mystery and plot of the story is very unique and very good. I enjoyed reading this story a lot. But only giving 4 stars because the ending was too abrupt and the actions of certain characters were not realistic and seemed nonsensical. But that’s the vibe of the story, it feels kinda magical and surreal.

Interesting and dark story. The story is about a supernatural theatre that allows its customers to go back in time to change the past. The operating rules are revealed as the story progresses.

MC, Ning Ning, is a bad actress. She desperately wants to become a legendary actress like her mother. At the beginning of the story, the theatre is a means to this goal. However, things quickly become more serious and dangerous.

Overall, the plot is mostly about suspense... romance takes a backseat. There are some plot holes in regards to... more>> the operating rules of the theatre and paradoxes in how little MC's current life changes with the big changes in the past. Just don't think too deeply about it and you'll enjoy the novel more. The author did make a note about struggling with the ending. I agree since an important character had an "out of character" bout for a few chapters.

When reading, it'll make it easier to follow the plot if you take some notes since it gets confusing when the later chapters mention characters and events from earlier in the novel. Noting down the name of the movies that MC entered, the year of the movie, her character within the movie, how she obtained the ticket for the show, and also her reason for seeing the show.

MC's romantic interest is Shi Zhong Tang. Frankly I don't get how he fell so deeply in love with MC. It's unrealistic.

At the end, ML becomes the doorman of the theatre and MC becomes the theatre's owner.

Of note: I don't recommend reading the extras. They are either poorly written or translated. The second extra makes me wonder if someone else wrote the extra since it made ML out to be scum (he is not scum, he's a sweetheart! Shame on you for turning him into scum!) and the past scenario mentioned never occurred in the main story. For reals, it's like baking a cake, decorating it carefully, and then sprinkling a layer of sand and dirt over it. 😒

The author alluded to a possible sequel, maybe that's why some issues were left unresolved. This is a reminder to myself to pass on the sequel since the probability of compounding plot holes is likely. <<less

This is my first time reading something like this, and I gotta say it was a fun read. The way the story was set-up is very intriguing, but the way it ended was a bit anticlimatic. The female lead has her good points like being intelligent and mentally strong. The crucial characters were more or less given great character development. There were quite a few loose ends to this story, but overall it is good and better than most chinese novels I've read.

I don't write a lot of these, but this story gets five stars from me simply for it's plot. The author is an amazing wirter, being able to come up with mini stories that all tied together to the main plot in some way, not only that, but it was emotion taking as well. I liked the small romance side story. To me, the male lead had character (lol), it wasn't the usual cold, stoic ML who's only trait was calling the FL "woman", and I liked that.
