The next day was a holiday so he’s going to use it for boss hunting all night.

When the boss hunt is finished, Renjin falls asleep in the game. He felt like someone was calling his name so he woke up.

Standing in front of the half-asleep Renjin was Eleanor, a character he created.

When Renjin looked outside after being puzzled to the characters who behave like they are alive, the outside scenery changed into one that he did not know at all.

I'm honestly not sure if it's the storyline that's boring or if it's the poor word choice and bad grammar that puts me off. Everytime I read it, I can only handle a few chapters before I give up on trying to understand what's going on. I think everyone who enjoys OP characters should give it a try because it's at least useful for killing time.

This is definitely not a great novel by any means but it’s still a good way to waste your time (yep, waste is the right word)

I really don’t care whether this is an Overlord knock off or not since I haven’t read Overlord yet. My main problem is that this novel is literally a tools to make author feel great about it.

No substance, Minimum plot requirement

what even worse is that the author didn’t feel like writing about anything except protagonist. Even his attendance which should be the second most... more>> important thing in the story got her screen time less that Asuna.

So yeah, if you want to waste sometime this would be great. But if you want a novel with a good story this is ain’t it at all go look for something else. <<less

I really tried giving this a shot but jfc was it bad. The main character isn't smart but wants to start a country. Of course he has all the best armor, weapons, etc. Mithril is considered rare so he lines his walls with & even makes candlesticks out of it. He becomes an adventurer but never does anything with that. Every new character he starts meeting is the same, they doubt his power -> does something crazy op -> praise the MC. It's like that for the first 87 chapters,... more>> I'm not reading any more. He has 200 subordinate but only like 3 matter, after that they're just plot devices for whatever he needs, architects, alchemists, blacksmith, etc. The women are basically bed servants and lack individuality. Females are basically only remembered as the elf, the foxskin, dwarf or fairy, nothing stands out about them.

The only interesting part is that he has intimate relationships with his characters but even then it just becomes stale after the third chapter where it's a running gag of who he wakes up with. <<less

Initially, it is a cheaper version of Overlord without the interesting parts.

It feels way too formulaic. A lot of things feel forced.

Later on, once it starts shedding some of the Overlord formula, it becomes much more interesting. Feels more like a blend between Realist Hero and Overlord.

Think about Overlord, remove the non-human parts and most of the "evil" bit (using people as experiments and such), as well as intrigue and any sign of equal or higher beings outside of legends from a very distant past.

Add harem for no reason, lower the writing level across the board and the "usual" happy go lucky where nothing can ever fail from all those isekai novels, and you have what this has to offer (from what is translated at least, which is 105 chapters).

Pass your way if you wanted an... more>> intricate story, interesting characters, interesting world and such, all of that is at a basic level at best, and the lack of details in anything doesn't help with the problem.

To be honest, the title gives it away fairly well, telling you from the start that it's going to waste a few hours of your life with an easy to read and mostly pleasant story, but nothing on a level where you would want to keep a copy a re-read it later or anything like that.

At least the translation is mostly good, so it keeps the easy to read aspect and makes it a fairly good pick if you just want to spend a few hours over the course of a few days. <<less

Do you want a PG-13 Overlord with a pathetic MC? Then you've come to the right novel.

A noble was badmouthing you and is basically plotting to send you to your death (he doesn't know you are that strong) just for the lulz. What do you do? Be sulky because your subordinates don't follow your order? MC: Correct. Well your subordinates are indeed extreme to suddenly just mu*der everyone but maybe they are just upset coz well, you are being badmouthed and all. But what did you think? Oh? You think... more>> that they are rebelling against you or something? LOL.

Its like someone read Overlord but cant take the somewhat dark setting and just made a fanfiction taking only the premise. PUSHOVER japanese MC at its finest. <<less

The world building is lackster, the translator has removed ability to read past 114 for some reason and I dont wanna attempt to fill in pieces. Concept of harem is so lackster that it needs to be removed from tags, as well as polgomy... as the MC never marries any of them nor bears children with them (yes he off screen plays with them but there is nothing like love shown). IF anything this is an attempt at making a love story with harem substitles while also showing a fantasy... more>> world, and at that it doesnt even do a decent job of it. Quite honestly, even the fact that the MC and crew were OP majority of time, would have been medigated by having the harem actually form and having children created (child rearing being a major component instead of ignored for just OP actions and lackster responses by women around him). I mean for 114 pages, he supposedly sleeps with a member each time, yet none get with child and we dont get to see that aspect of MC and others? that to me is a lack of plot device that could and would show why the OP tries to do things.... <<less

It starts pretty similar to overlord, but it has a completely different air.

There are many moments that could be written better, but despite that the novel is much better than most of the copy pasted texts you normally read.

I would like to see the scene of protagonist taking revenge on maid corps, one by one. There is no chapter like this, otherwise that'd make it five stars. ;-)

Well now, that was great.

I don't get why others are comparing this negatively to Overlord? That one's a different novel altogether. Overlord is on the Evil Spectrum while this one is more on the Good Side. That's a huge difference when you think about it. Both are great by the way.

Anyway, the best thing in this novel is the MC interactions with the NPC characters. I like how open & trusting they are with one another, because of that the MC doesn't have to find any other players and is... more>> content with what he already have, and neither does this MC really need to lie and act like someone who he is not just to gain recognition to the NPCs that he created. It really shows how it would be like if the characters you have created have gained their own autonomy and whatever will happen afterwards. Unlike in Overlord where the MC is never really content with the NPCs (even with the one he himself created), there are quite some distrust in between them and he is always paranoid because they might betray him once they found out he is not what they believe him to be. The Overlord MC is also always trying to search for his "Player Friends" which shows that he would rather be with them than be with the NPCs. Kinda stressful when you think about it. In fact, the Overlord MC seems to be much happier being with the non-Nazarick subordinates that he gained than otherwise, like the E-Rantel Guild Master, the Lizardman, the Dwarf, etc. Either way, this novel has great character relations, that doesn't mean the other one is bad, it's just that this one is better.

Basically, the MC and the NPCs he created are the best part of this story, I really love them.

The world building is good enough. It's simple and easy to understand, no need for too much details since that doesn't seem to be the main focus of this novel.

For the enemies, I love how they are uhh.. Quick to die? Hahaha. The author himself shows how he hate them. It's kinda hilarious.

The story is good, not too short and not too long either. It has interesting parts and some serious parts, but it's funny and carefree for the most of it. From how it goes, it doesn't seem that the author is trying to make this one a masterpiece, it's just something that will entertain you and give you some feel of fantasy. I like how it is.

All-in-all, I give it 4 stars. Give it a read if you like fantasy stories that aren't too serious. <<less

Short and very fast pacing story. MC is too op but lagging. This Stroy rushed and fights didn't take long time just like other novels (chapters upon chapters, even while fighting with the final boss). I wanted to give 4 star but I'm giving 5 for some reasons like the author didnt make it long and for some funny moments. Again there's no gore or too much political affairs and conflicts like overlord. Normal and fresh story for beginners.

Blatant ripoff of Overlord and in comparison:

  • Lacks World-Building
  • Unlikeable MC and forgettable side characters
  • Illogical decisions are made by characters all the time
  • Lacks conflict, or at least a sense of tension for example in Overlord when
    Spoiler

Shalltear was mind controlled and we find out that even if the MC and his guild are overpowered there are some people who could stand against them

    [collapse]
in contrast, this novel is full of incompetent antagonists and MC could conquer the world single-handedly
it started off kinda interesting but the lack of world building and inorganic characters turned me off. It's not the worst novel out there but I'd say it's somewhere between hot garbage and mediocre in terms of quality.

I've been putting this series on hold for a while, now I've finally finished reading it.

It's a nice, simple, relaxing story. The characters are quite interesting and the MC wasn't your typical JP beta MC despite being OP and has OP subordinates. The plot wasn't that heavy at all and (as the title implies) it has a fast pace, a bit too fast at some points but hey, don't sweat about it I think.

Overall, it's a simple version of Overlord.

Uhh... why are some people saying that it's machine translated?I think it's decent english (except u cant read english properly)... and it isnt so bad that u have to give it only 1 star

I understand that its difficult to get which character is which and its a shame that its not more detailed but I rly think that its worth to read and not so annoying that u have to skip to c50 its inferior to Overlord... but guys... its not Overlord its a story inspired from the same genre... more>> and u cant compare somebody who's novel made it to a manga and an anime with somebody who just wanted to write a decent story and please some people out there who like the same genre as he writes... its just a guy who was transferred in his OP character in his game and from there to another world as in the game with his OP NPC Guild and to please the exspectations of his now feelings feelable (ughh... cringe) NPC comrades he founds a country to show the world his "godlines" for his NPC comrades and while he does that he is abused by his female beautiful companions thats the story and some other stuff but I have to read further... but rly guys dont flame so hard about novels they are allowed to write what they want when its not completely copied from somewhere... <<less

Well well, whaddaya know? Another JP novel with an overpowered MC with an overpowered setting. Seriously? Are these author simply just too lazy to develop the MC? The concept of the novel is very much like Overlord, with an OP character ruling a kingdom with OP vassals, and enemies which only serve as nothing but fodders. Where's the challenge? The concept of all these JP novels aren't even novel at all.

I have a lot to say. And the reason is because I love the plot. If anyone is actually reading this and considering it. This is my 2nd read. (And I swear to god the translation was 50 times better the first time, or I enjoyed it so much I disregarded it).
you ever seen or read overlord? Similar. Lots of differences but it’s a plot that starts similar to it. And overlord is a great story.
but. Either the translator, or the author really snubbed this one’s potential.

pro’s
unique... more>> plot that this is number 2 out of 4 that I have read and in my opinion it had the ability to be greater than overlord, which is really biased because I liked the characters more in this novel. MC and really any character aside from like ‘sherry’ (67% of the time) could be considered A NORMAL DAMN HUMAN. What im saying is the typical Japanese character (usually strongest in the mc) who’s embarrassed by any and everything and sense of values rivals the strongest metal in the universe. MC starts off looking like he will end up that way, and either due to his character race, or the facade of his title keeps true and continues to be an alpha. Only occasionally slipping (mostly internal dialogue).
Characters are truly op. The only struggles are adapting to the world, And the norms. And even the subordinates are humble no internal strife.

even if things sometimes turn into a mess it really reads well. Even tho the dialogue can be confusing and the perspectives might change it doesn’t push you away. I’ve read reviews where people agree. It’s a decent read. Even with the problems.

the MC is a decent human who isn’t cold like ains and even his subordinates even if they put the MC at top of the world they are good people, unless you demean their god.

the mission he takes is noble and he does it with good intentions, even if he takes some off the top. He doesn’t play people and he doesn’t indiscriminately destroy just anyone, he has a conscience.

con’s

sometimes there are holes in the plot, and often contradictions. More often than once will there be missing information that won’t be fixed, or a statement is said and even within the next chapter it’s been voided. You will be left confused most likely at least once every 5 ch. about some form of information. f*ckING ALSO I’d like to call out his GD title. I could post 15 screenshots of this alone. He started as ‘dragon knight’ and that = gods apostle. Okay... fine. But from there it changes frequently and it ends as gods agent? Truth be told you can just call him a god or Demi god and it would have made alot more sense.

Because like with that his subordinates also have a fluctuation in what they are. If ren is a 10 on power they are easily 7’s and Elenor being an 8. And regular humans beinf a 1 on scale. S-rank being 2-3 dragons being a 5.
also speaking of if there is a god which sends him it’s unclear, because he really doesn’t question it in the beginning and even at the reveal that he isn’t alone it’s never brought up. There’s a religion and it’s brought up once that there are believers who can hear them but that’s it.
also appear 12 ‘people’ who have power scale of 4 or 5 at best we hear nothing of their origins or anything at all. Even having several ch. regarding them. That’s it.
When his subordinates (which are like 140 originally) like to call him different forms of ‘leader’ which is fine. But stick with it. They change like I change my socks. Commitment my guy. it also shows attention to detail and is appreciated

story honestly reads as a manga. Truth be told with the useless filler as is if you removed it the 220 chapters would barely breach 100.

the perspective change/ scene change would break your neck. Don’t know who to blame that on. If I had to guess it’s 50/50 there are some chapters that you’ll never actually be able to tell who it was. Although limited it does happen.

every morning it seems 9/10 times he will wake up with a certain FMC and at least one other woman. Sometimes they don’t specify, which is usually fine. But unless you pay attention you won’t know till the afterstory. Ridiculous, if you ask me.

Also on that note his relationships are so vague that there’s a tent to Japanese beta male to it sometimes. Come on. Dude has the potential to have 100 wives. Why you do it like this author.

characters had so much room for growth and dialogue but you skipped it. Elf that’s 700 years old and the thickest blood you give a back story of being the granddaughter of the first mixed blood, and the greatest elven sorcerer and she gets 3rd rate coverage. Leader of the dark elves and she is a stuttering mess who is just told to do menial work. Beastkin? You have female leads in the other races but give a tiger king and the one female you introduce ends up a musician. Come on. Also we never met the dwarves. Do they still exist? The end is dragons. To that end also you marry the MC to one princess that has screen time and the other who had one short arc.

the deciding war with the last empire was better than the first yes, but the conclusion was pretty ridiculous. You just killed off the empire threw it to a child and gave us a chapter where half of it was dedicated to the conclusion. You punished the 12 disciples and say nothing else of the church or the god. There was potential for that arc to have double the number no?

every single person the MC meets will doubt how strong her is and will challenge him to battle, or demand to see it. 1/4 of them will not believe it even after, even if there is a world symbol of power 1/3 of them will no believe it after. A dragon rider? Symbol of the apostle, “don’t believe it”. Beats S-rank adventures? “They must not be that much after all”. King of a country? “Small country anyways”. Beat an evil god? “Don’t believe it have a fist fight with me”.

more often than not characters will be introduced with a back story. But you’ll only get about 3 lines an arc, or completely gone after that. Beastkin girl? She showed up once since she was saved, elf princess? Beastman part of the predecessor arc, and marriage, but no dialogue during that either. The first empire? Since it was literally destroyed it’s been progress reports. Guild girl who is obsessed with mc? She shows up about 4 times in the novel. The s-rank party? We don’t know how far they actually made it in the Forrest.
the subordinate that he left to guard and advise the new emperor? Havnt seen her since. Beastman fighter who wanted to be a subordinate? She Probally plays the fiddle in the corner. Couldn’t tell you. <<less

It was pretty interesting for a while. Gave some OP guild & gamer vibes like Overlord without the evil stuff, but lots of implied coupling. The last arc of the regular story (before the post-story content) was pretty forced though and substantially drove down my enjoyment of the entire thing.

WTF?! that story could be interesting if MC was really normal. BUT - he is just expressionlessly bot. Another world& He is not interesting! What about his family etc& He is not interesting in that! Why he was placed in that world? Pff, he is not interesting in that! W.T.F?????

Okay, this is story, but without realistic changes and moves, that just - NOTHING INTERESTING FOR ME!!!

... more>> What wrong wing author? Where is logic? Bleee...

Boring and primitive. MC is OP, fanatics supporters, idiots people in that world - f-ing clishe! So s*upid! AGRH!!! <<less

Pretty badly done. The main content only has show-off (self fulfilled) plots. While the main character has the power but he was too naive to make decisions. His subordinates were puppet despite having same plot like overlord. Antagonists have 3rd rate villain role, it sounds s*upid most of time. Overall it has been done pretty badly for a harsh fantasy world perspective.

A good light read. The writing style is pretty quick and terse, and it does suffer from throwing way too many characters at you with very brief descriptions which leads to (at least in my case) confusion later on. Especially when some people have very similar names. Even the character guides don't really help with this because each character gets about three lines, even in the very last one, which is mostly how their hair is styled and what weapons they use.

That being said I enjoyed it right to the... more>> end. It's a guilty pleasure isekai. Overlord but with a good guy protagonist. Ren is not as evil as Ains, but he's also not really as cunning. It makes up for the lack of uniqueness with a heavy theme of ecchi stuff, but like everything it's not explored or explained in detail. So if you are looking for smut this isn't really the place.

I would point out that the ending felt extremely rushed, even in a story written with as little detail as this. A group of antagonists are introduced and built up for a few chapters, only to have a very unsatisfactory ending. Hard to explain without spoilers so I'll leave it at that, but it was very very disapointing how that plotline was handled.

That said I was still left wanting more, but it seems like the chapters dealing with the dragon kingdom were either not written or not translated. I guess it might have been setting up a sequel? Though they aren't really necissary for the story, it's a bit annoying to have another adventure mentioned in the final few paragraphs only for it to go nowhere. <<less

Mediocre and anticlimactic. The final boss is literally killed in one chapter, after being introduced the previous chapter Even ignoring the rushed ending, this is just Overlord with more wish fulfillment.
