Truth to be told I didnt expect much from this novel. Im picturing face slapping, arrogant rich rival etc. But found none of those. This is a slice of life story pretty much like udon poco world or barakamon. Honestly dont know why all the 1star cause for me at least this is 4.5.

Give this a try. Absolutely fun to read.

This review cant say much cause im a noob in reviewing. But im at least confident to say that this book is great.

I’ve just came across this novel today and read the 54 chapters in 1 go. I honestly can’t comprehend anyone giving this novel 1 star, I think it’s a very enjoyable 4 star. So I gave it 5 stars to balance out the haters.

The story is about a modern-day Otaku who one day see’s a different (animated) world. The world initially only has 2 characters but as the MC does various quests/tasks more characters show up.

The story is just plain fun, the quests do not give him supernatural fighting powers... more>> and he isn’t building a harem.

My favorite part of this story is how the MC interacts with the people of his village. At first everyone thinks he’s autistic because how he’s a shut in who acts weird. Instead of bullying/shaming the MC, like we see in so many CN stories, the village elders and neighbors look out for him and worry about his safety. Idk, it’s just a refreshing slice of life novel.. You should give it a try! <<less

Definitely interesting. From what I've read and gather, the novel plays with game world that can manifest into reality ability. I'm only mentioning this because the synopsis doesn't say anything as to what type of novel this is.

That said, the novel is well-written and entertaining enough to continue if you are okay with the modern setting. I don't see it turning into a combat novel as the game setting is kinda like stardew valley. I'll give it a five since I have never come across a similiar novel and because... more>> I love stardew valley.

All in all, it's stardew valley meets IRAS (guy likes to show off with reactions of others but without the arrogance). <<less

well the first 100 Chapter were interesting since its still about MC that 's so Lazy that he literally let other people do all the work while he leech some kind of Profit whether it's 2D World or 3D world

No Faceslapping + Arrogant Young Master.

No Evil Japs, Korean and Westerner with bullsh*t Chinese Supremacy

... more>> and most Importantly No Harem

but after around chapter 250ish when Author decide to introduce the Dark Side of 2D World like Struggle between Order Starlight CIty vs Chaos Dark City it start to went downhill where MC become so Passive and didn't really try to think about the Consequence of His Act just because Author use justification of Introvet Otaku.

and the last straw of it is when MC decide to say f*ck Off toward both City without realizing it and by the time he realize the consequence its already too late his City were Isolate from the Entire 2D World, yep and the Author decide to use tons of Asspull and Plot Armor where Item A and (insert thing B) when MC really need it and bam for some reason just how convenient it's MC just get that item after tens of chapter with half-ass reason and background story.

well in summary Author did a good job to create and avoid most Chinese and Japanese Cliche Trope and try to be unique but with the constant use of Plot Armor after chapter 250 so on it start to get boring. <<less

I would've never thought of seeing this novel in NU at all. I read this novel in Chinese like almost six or seven years before in my high school days. The concept was definitely intriguing and new back then and it still is now.

This story is about a lazy guy that is so lazy that he even moved back to the grandparents (?) home in the rural area village. There, the lazy guy encountered little guys that could only exist in 2-D worlds. His life started to change ever since... more>> then. From a lazy bum to a slightly lazy bum that felt that he had to do something at some times. Overall, he still is a lazy bum though.

The best part of the story is the development of the story and characters itself. There would be failures and success that goes hand in hand. They will learn to accept their defect and face the price of overconfidence. Just like how the first son (mini) and second daughter (mini) of the MC are.

Overall, this is really a good one to read. It might not be the best you can find out there but it is definitely memorable enough to warrant a read from you guys. Why? Because it was and still is a novel that stuck on the back of my mind even after all these years passed by. It is that memorable of a novel for me, which is why I recommend you guys to give it a try.

If there is even one part that I would point out as a negative point, it would be that the lazy characteristics of the MC is a slight turnoff but it is actually an interesting part that shaped the MC itself now that I think about it. Well, 5* for the rating. <<less

Somehow I see the resemblance of "Im really a superstar" and "losing money to be a tycoon" even thou they clearly isnt the same, lmao maybe because they're based on medern era. Anyways this novel is infinitely much better than IRAS and losing money to be a tycoon, just because this novel isnt racist!!! And there's no nationalism!

Its just sad that around chapter150, it downgraded 😭. I really couldn't care less about the idols, animation studio and the amus**ent park. What I want to see is MC interacting with children,... more>> making small houses, etc. Im also annoyed by that manager Zhou Fu, he keeps interfering with MC's decision. <<less

This novel is a lot of fun!

It's an interesting slice of life detailing the interactions between the MC and citizens of the ACG world as well as other people around him.

I still find it an enjoyable read even after over a hundred chapters.

Be warned, this novel isn't meant for readers looking for ambitious MC. There's no over-the-top dominating the world or face slapping here.

But it's definitely worth my time.

A light hearted read about an otaku that can see a hidden ACG world with tiny little friends. The plot revolves around how the otaku MC enjoys ACG world, improve his little town and how he develops as a indoor otaku into a more healthy otaku. Reading this novel makes me smile due to the MC's interaction with children, the acg villagers and other people. A very relaxing read with humor and fantasy, this novel is a must read for those who love slice of life and comedy novels.

Overall it's pretty good book. Very imaginative and fresh concept of merging ACG (Anime, Comic and Games) world and real world. Sure it's slice of life and laid back but there always seems to be something interesting going on in the book so in that aspect it never gets stale.

My only issue is the main character. Admittedly hes just an average weak-willed otaku guy and that's how hes built so there can't be that many things expected from him right? Well that's sort of wrong. Hes an absolute pushover of... more>> pushovers, full time carpet for everybody to wipe their feet on.

First of all, be it the ACG world or real world he cannot fight back at all. In anything. His kid getting mol*sted? The way the book is written he just has to grimace and be OK with it, then deal with aftermath. Random people in the real world attacking him? He always runs away. And those are just the physical aspects, there are many other ways he's being suppressed and mocked that he just doesn't seem to give a sh*t about.

I'm not expecting this guy to turn into some martial arts maniac or internet influencer to fight back but since hes so rich from the movie maybe hire couple bodyguards and pay for online water armies? Would A VERY SMALL STEP LIKE THIS really be too much? The way his character is written is as a 'constant' never-changing pu*sy who no matter how many times someone comes and slaps his face he does nothing. After a while the feeling of being wronged just stacks up while reading this if you relate to the MC in any way. <<less

Definitely read worthy. It's a story about an otaku who tries to enjoy his life in his own way. Don't expect a romantic scene because MC is a dense person. All he think of is how to have fun with all he had.

Reasons for the high rating:

  • MC isn't a jerk, he has a set of (odd) goals and is dedicated.
  • Real life recognizes how odd he is, but treats him as lovable quirky rather than a psycho.
  • Real life and art world interact in fun ways!
  • He almost accidentally becomes a model member of society without compromising his goals and dreams.
  • Fun side quests!
  • Not grimdark. At least, not yet. Even at c151, it is more a laid back, relaxing adventure.
Power is fun, leads to interesting hijinks, is considered model art to the world... This is... more>> worth your time, 100%, no question. <<less

This is pretty meh. The Otaku thing wasn't properly portrayed, the author made it look like an Otaku's knowledge is all about ACG. It's still enjoyable though, it's similar to The Gamer, but instead of real life RPG, his views became a farm simulation game.
