A very interesting time-travel story, and is a part of trilogy. The main protag is a woman who knows what she wants and, despite the circumstances, is completely opposite to a ‘damsel-in-distress’. Too bad the translator is in hiatus...

Edited at chapter 12 part 13, rate stay at 5.
It's indeed one of the most awesome C-novel with female MC I've ever read. The plot is fresh and the characters are beautifully fleshed out. It's not girly, but not overly masculine either. Best of all, the military strategies and interpersonal interactions in the novel are exceptionally good; it can even give us some inspirations for "real life" battles. Many thanks for the new translator and editor for continuing the series.

While there are a lot of points in this book I think are done well, there are also a lot of factors that feel forced or just poorly written. It's a somewhat rare feeling novel where it feels like they actually had a powerful female character without that forced feeling that a lot of this kind have (By this what I mean is when authors are trying to create this personality type they are purposefully aiming for that which has it come off as very forced) It does strike a... more>> good balance between having the people around her be prejudice but at the same time not overly forcing the issue. Other than that though there are a lot of parts that I don't like. For some examples:

First the injuries in this story feel like they are taken so half-hazardly to where it feels fake. While there are a lot of examples the main character being stabbed next to the heart is the simplest example. She should supposedly be smart enough to understand the implications of this wound, but yet she continues to strain it and pretend it doesn't exist.
Then you have other aspects like the training. While I am not informed on the particulars I'm sure that with a lot of her "training" methods you would not cause progress like the book has, but instead harm the soldiers and have little gains. Things like the intensive exercise on a daily basis without allowing them to stop, dangerous trainings like the rock climbing without any real saftey nets, ect. Which this book has the feeling of trying to be realistic, but these aspects just feel somewhat forced. The methods and ways she does it feels like you would end up with people being forced to retire due to injuries and potential deaths.
Then you have the relationships, which honestly just feels somewhat poor to me. The other person who came with her feels poorly done, where we don't really get any kind of introduction with them suddenly swapping to wanting to be married. The entire character arc just feels off. There are a few others but I'll omit them.
The main characters personality irks me at times, which this might just be due to translation. Things like how when she learned the meaning of Bian Lian how she told the sword that she didn't want her, then when she was calming the sword it felt like she gaslight it by saying things like "who said they didn't want you, I do" despite her literally saying it. Instead of admitting that she was being emotional and said something mean to the sword and apologizing, she instead at least to me felt like she just ignored that entirely.

The book also feels very slow at the point where I'm quitting. She is training the soldiers but I feel like a lot of this could be omitted. Her relationship with the ML feels uninteresting since she just reacts with violence. Some of the arcs like the rainforest feel like they go on for a long time with a lot of uninteresting content.

Overall the book wasn't what I would call bad, but it did have aspects that I didn't like. I think its worth giving it a try if the description interests you. <<less

Im sorry I have to rate this, because this one could be an amazing Novel. But I dunno what happened with the writer that they change what the main plot and decided to add many loopholes there. Might be bias cause I only read till half way. But sooo many plot holes.

it's like when the FL meets her friend how come she casually move around without the general being upset or what, this supposed to be ancient settings tho FL and her friend is from modern time. But their behaviour and other behaviour in that place also become like in modern time? How come?

But im really feel bad because so many people translate it. The translation is quite good too.

The MC is naive and a simple minded person which makes some of her action and speech quite funny. Imagine when you are talking to a 4 to 5 years old child, the MC brain capacity is similar to that, haha. But she can also be very smart whenever a situation calls for it. Added to that, she is also physically stronger than normal human being, can talk to animals, and has the ability to heal. I don't like the ML that much. I did not like the fact the he had some hesitation in a critical moment when the MC needs his support the most. Although he still ended up supporting the MC, the fact that he had hesitation during the life and death situation shows that his love for the MC is not deep enough. But despite that I am not a fan of ML, I still enjoyed reading this novel =) <<less

Love this story. Excellent plot, narratives, sequence of events, love the leads, an emotional roller coaster ride.

Would recommend the whole series. Beautiful storytelling. Thank you so much author for this beautiful journey.

Read all 4 first books and all are excellent read.

A nice story and a good read. It's just too bad the quality of the translation takes a nosedive at 30 as another group takes over. So you might want to read a bit of those first to see if you can manage reading it.

disappointing. I rate it 3 stars instead of lower rating since part of it is my fault because I have wrong expectations.

I badly want to rate it higher because there are aspects that have lots of potential.

The training parts are easily the best parts of this. The first pay off of the training arc is not bad but not good.

I know that she was a SWAT officer and it has in no way trained in swords nor military battle. But the story is unbelievable enough. She has sword skills, can train, can handle various weapons, and know military strategies. Might as well let her fight. I was expecting to see a military but gave me a police drama. There are investigations but do not expect a lot of them. Military and investigation aspects are mixed.

Still, It's a good read for the training parts story. It highlights the best characteristics of MC and I'm honestly looking for the characters that she trained. The rest of the story... I don't know how to describe it but in terms of food, it is edible. Not bad but not good.

if you manage your expectations well, might be a good read for you. <<less

The franchise idea is quite novel and I took a great liking to it at the beginning as it was as promising as I had expected but with time the writing (as well as translations, the last translator translations are as good as MTL, a lot of errors with also simple pronoun mistakes) becomes too rushed. This should've been a more lengthy novel, the cases and incidents barge in one after another and the human and love relationship don't really take much time to develop making it seem unreal and... more>> hasty. There are also plentiful of small plot holes that bother me. Things that require MC to be at certain places at certain times or do certain things but was completely disregarded after mentioning.

There's also special meetings that have been left out that I assume will be either in prequel or sequel and just were mentioned on the go that nagged at me.

An important meeting like with the emperor and possibly the non transmigrated sister at a banquet, which should've been one of the highlights but instead gets mentioned in passing. MC never really seemed to have the time to go to the palace so that incident seemed unfitting in the story flow as well.

That being said, it's still a pretty nice read, if you ignore the terrible MTL translations towards the end the cases more or less are not overcomplicated or oversimplified, quite fit to be a TV script. <<less

This was honestly a great story. Lots of baa$$ but very little romance. The lack of romance is why I gave it a four. You're gonna have to wait until the very last minute before you get that teensy drop of love. Like a teensy drop, you don't get anything much besides that little drop and that was why it was frustrating. I loved the story and how much face-slapping she did but when things were supposed to be resolved and you get that glimmer of hope, that maybe, just... more>> maybe you'll finally get some romance, another conflict arises.

The ending also didn't satisfy me, there was not a SINGLE chapter wherein our FL and ML just fluffed. That was my problem with it but overall its still a good story. Solid characters and a solid plot, everything a good story is made up of this story has. So I would recommend, but as i've said before there's not much romance in this one. <<less

This novel is sequel of "A mistaken marriage match: Record of washed grievances." I understand why Gu Yun (FL) behave as she is.. A very strong character as this is due to the nature of her profession in the modern era - A SWAT team officer.

This novel is as good the 1st book. It starts to pick up after the FL met up with the ML. Next I'm going into the 3rd book.

I feel complicated about this novel. Honestly, I really enjoyed the plot and I also liked strong female lead novel type. But in this novel, it's really hard for me to love MC character. Sometimes she is too dense, too arrogant, often doesn't give a d**n about other people's feeling, and also easy to throw a fit. ML is the type of cold indifferent man who despise woman but in end he fall for MC who is different and stronger than any other woman.

The story itself has many potentials but... more>> author seems a bit rush to end the story earlier.

1. I want to see more of "Bird of Prey" team in action. Too bad they only appear in abduction case of empress's uncle and pirate's case.

2. I also want see more scene about Su Ling and Gu Yun after Gu Yun decides to stay with Su Ling (ex: their wedding). Too bad there is no such scene.

3. Many cases is abruptly end with a little clue and minim process. Sometimes the aftermath is also unclear, for example: the case of infant abduction involving Ao Jie (what happen with the baby? Is he safe or what?).

Despite that, the author done a good job describing elite's training process and I also enjoy their improvement.

About the ending.

Gu Yun and Su Ling will have a daughter and their daughter will be MC in another "a mistaken marriage match" installment : the pirate's daughter. Looking forward to read it in the future.

I wish Su Yu, Ao Tian, and Mu Cang will have a happy ending too.

it's a good one!

basic cold skeptical ML, OP female protagonist who is values lives over victory (as she was previously in SWAT)

If you're here for the love, might not be a good read for you. Take her til last few chapters to get together with the man.

But if you're like me and here for OP female protagonist then yes you will love how she proves herself.

One of my best reads! I really loved how awesome the MC was in military operations and how the army came to respect her. I've been searching for a novel to read for days and finally this one has actually made continue to read it until to the last chapter. I binged this cause it was that good.

Albeit, there were some things that feels like it's missing. Like Ao Tian. I really love him. I got second lead syndrome because of him. I still like Su Ling. But Ao Tian~... more>> Sigh~ Maybe it is due to the few chapters. In the other books in this same universe they go up to 100+ why is this one not?! Hahahaha

Anyway, read it! If you want strong female lead who transmigrated and hasn't lost her former self and still continues to slay. <<less

One of best transmigration story so far! I also have read the other two books (Record of Washed Grievances and Mysteries in the Imperial Harem, which has intertwined story).

Among three books, I love this one the most. I have reread a couple times and still my favorite book. MC is my favorite. She has strong character and great capability. The romance between MC and FL is also my favorite.

To get a whole completed story, you have to read the other two books.

Psst, their epilogue is also one of the funniest.

First to understand this story, the "Record of Washed Grievances" must be red where the story of the MC friend which had transformed as the elder sister in the new word. Love the MC strong personalty more than the other one and the story was so interesting at the beginning. The romance for me was s*upid and the MC couple interact does not give time to convert the reader that the love has bloomed. The general was not at home at the beginning even after his 1st fight with her,... more>> he again walk away from her and after that he only displeased and look down on her. But just like that he without caring begin to love her. For me if she end with one of his brother it much convincing for me.

The last battle was bad and more drama than action. The story of the two sword could be better but ending and the reason of transformation are the worst after reading the 1st vol with no explanation and waiting patiently in the 2nd vol. <<less

This is my favorite book in mistaken marrige match collection. Just loved Gu Yun and Su Ling chemistry. Both are match made from heaven. And I loved how Gu Yun trained soldier Hahaahaha...... Overall this book became one of my favorite.

A fun little story. The historical inaccuracies were a little frustrating but I imagine they were probably worse in the first book. So if you already read that then you will probably enjoy this too.

If I were to describe this novel in one word, I'd say 'Tough'

It's tough not to like it. Everything in the story strong spells strength. The female lead is headstrong and courageous, she sticks to her principles and I admit I am an admirer of strong creations so I might be a bit biased. Not looking at this story from a romantic perspective would be better for some readers (like myself). There are snippets here and there just to get you going but if you're looking for purebred romance this... more>> story would be lacking. The bond between the main couple was too fragile and sometimes it left me wondering if the author had inclinations on other directions which would have been more suitable considering how the story moved. BEAUTIFUL, well I wish I still can watch their love story :") unfortunately I already finished it sigh... I still don't want to part with this novel since this kind of novel that I love the most, the female MC really strong and there is less fight with woman exactly what I want but what a pity it's only 43 chapters
