10/10. I can't say it was Perfectly Perfect, but it was still somewhat Perfect!!! It's Absolutely Perfect for such a Wildest Ride Survival Game I have ever read!!!

You will LOVE All the Characters (except of course the villains) ! I'm serious! The author did AMAZING JOB writing people beside the MC and ML. All the side characters are Top Notch!!!

All the story are intriguing. The Arcs and the Intensity was just... WOW!!!

Except all the Puzzle arcs.... I chose to give up understanding puzzle and labyrinth because my brain is not... more>> made for that. Especial not for Chinese Puzzles. Lol. And some actual Card game too (The one like Poker or any Card game for betting and gambling). Those... I never play so I don't understand.

Anyway, the Author did Spectacular Job writing Case arcs or Action/Adventure arcs. The Emotional... And the Tension... Just WOW!!!

The Teamwork moments are the best thing Ever!!! Seriously, you Will LOVE ALL THE CHARACTERS!!!

And I'm so happy the Author didn't forgot to completed the story for our CPs life in the Extras. Not many Survival Game novels does the Aftermath story you know. But beside for the CPs, we get the main important scenes in the Extras about an Important character get what they deserve in a good way.

The Author really tried their best to please us till the end and we are so fcking Grateful!!!

I'm Truly Adore this Novel from the Bottom of my Heart, with every part of my Body and Soul, and my Eternal Love, Loving this Novel for Eternity and Beyond!!! <<less

I loved this novel!
Its now my top 1 and my favorite ❤️
spent a month reading it, totally worth it!!!

When I finished another novel I started searching fanart on Pinterest and found one where one random guy was holding some cards and the other guy holding two ballistic knifes. Got interested and as always I forgot about my waiting list. I decided to start reading. This novel went to my top one because of the cases and I liked how the arcs weren't repetitive. They had different cases. There... more>> were lots of arcs because of the cards.

It starts in 2 of hearts and ends in the Two Jokers. It 's logical.

Very entertaining. I have a bad experience with long novels. I once read a 700 chapter one and it was awful. Pretty repetitive, the only good thing was the world building. This novel was a good experience for me, it had good character development and didn't replace characters. Sometimes the author would forget some skills about the cards but I understood why.

Here I loved the idea of cards as skills but also cards as rooms. We could understand how many rooms and I also liked how hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs had different challenges. I loved the challenge rooms, especially the heart rooms. The explanation of the challenges makes sense and I understood them easily. I spend my nights reading this novel. I fell in love with the supporting characters and the setting was good!

It's funny how I started with historical more romantic moments than fights novels to modern and unlimited flow. I like romance but action novels are better.

Still haven't convinced anyone to read it. Some weeks ago I convinced a friend to read teio, she is reading it right now. She was interested in Card Room and asked me how many chapters it had, when I told her it had 610 chapters her jaw dropped. Not giving up tho 💪. <<less

My rating leans more towards 4.5 stars, to be exact.

This novel is a high-quality work. It deserves high praise in many aspects, but honestly, as much as I hate being nitpicky, it isn't for everyone.

The story is very ambitious, the plot is complex and well planned out, and the characters are all likeable. It's apparent that the author put in a lot of thought and effort into writing this; however, it's easy to feel bored and tired as the story progresses, especially in the later heart and 4-in-1 rooms.

Every arc... more>> in the later period is too long, and it keeps getting longer and longer. Honestly, it's hard to stay focus if the story is this long, and my mind always wanders off while reading it.

Besides, the writer keeps forgetting the details of the cards (e.g., the condition of each card, the usages, the limitations, how many times it can be used, where it can or cannot be used, etc.). 😢 It's been incorrect too many times. It's too obvious if you read it all in one go, like me. I couldn't help but get frustrated. I understand that many cards have been introduced in the story so far, but isn't it the author's responsibility to note them down and correct the details?

Furthermore, the fact that the MC and ML are always the ones drawing cards makes me a bit meh. Like seriously, while the other team members barely have decent attack or defense cards to save their lives in case they are separated in the instances, the MC always gets the chance to pull for new cards despite the fact that his card pack is already comprehensive, and he's fully armed. This is ridiculous. <<less

I am obsessed. I never thought I could like a book that was this long, but it's kept my interest the whole time! I'm actually so excited it's soo long because that means I don't need to say goodbye to the characters anytime soon!

I- *ugly crying*

The trust between the team members made me so emotional T_T The ending was wonderful, complete, fulfilling and I loved every single couple in this novel. The mysteries and plot were very intriguing and there is a wonderful balance of comedy, action, fluff, pain, suspense and romance It's so heartwarming and I really appreciate the fact that the author wrote extras continuing from the end!!! I feel so satisfied and blissful!!!!! The characters are all very well written and the side CPs are a huge bonus. A must... more>> read! A must read! A must read!

Now, let me just crawl into a hole and cry myself to sleep from feeling emptiness of completing a masterpiece.

It's really good so far.

I'm gonna write the review according to the chapters I have read up till now.

The MC and ML are awesome. They are both good in different area, so they have their own advantages and disadvantages. It's very refreshing because they are not too OP (in my opinion) and have a sense of crisis at critical times.

The plot of the story itself is well made. I like the logic and the arcs are really entertaining. I also like the concept of the instances, it is differentiated between... more>> genres (hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs).

I really like the protagonists' teammates, they have their own abilities and their personalities are good. Their teamwork is great especially the MC and ML, both of them have their own tacit understanding of each other.

I really recommend this novel, the mystery and puzzle is really well thought. The novel is a slow burn romance, but don't worry to much since we get our fair share of dog food.

P.S : Sorry for any typos and grammar error, English is not my first language. <<less

Usually don't write out reviews, but I loved this novel so much that I feel like I need to lol. This was surprisingly easy to finish with MTL so feel free to binge if you want lol. Every card room was written beautifully and near the end, many twists and secrets come out that keep you constantly on edge. I ended up doubting what I thought was the truth multiple times (but that also could just be me not noticing small details). Everyone on the team contributes in their own... more>> way and I loved seeing the different cards they would get. I also wish there was more of an explanation for things but eh a happy ending is all I need. <<less

Ignoring the Bloody Maple Leaf arc, I found this quite enjoyable.

The best parts, in my opinion, is when all the challengers work together--as others have stated, this is rare in novels like these. For once, people feel more like people rather than just crazy backstabbers. Like, yeah some people arn't good, but literally every single person you meet isn't waiting to steal your money.

There are three types of 'games' that the characters have to compete in. In the beginning levels, Our protagonists chose it in the order of mu*der mystery-Logic... more>> puzzles-Survival-Gambling.

The Bloody Maple Leaf sucks (it's like the second mu*der mystery room) , but other then that, I've enjoyed all of the other challenges. Therefore, I'd recommend just skipping through it. Nothing plot-related or character-updates happens in it.

Spoiler

So far, my favorite mu*der mystery was the train one (it made me laugh quite a bit), my favorite logic puzzles was the first 1 (cuz ML and I are both s*upid, lol), and my favorite Survival one is the one in the current arc (Lost at Sea).

[collapse]

ML +MC

Spoiler

So far (as of 137) the ML and the MC are not romantically involved, but they both have major crushes on each other. The pining is handled quite well. 10/10 super cute.

The ML and MC meet up in the first CLUB (gambling) room and team-up together for the rest of the fic.

[collapse]

Side characters

They are pretty fun, and there isn't like a haram happening or anything. The side-side characters are their own people, and while on average they may tend to be a bit dim, some have the best ideas. Like

Spoiler

"Let's pretend to steel a tv so the police will feed us!" and 'Huh, why didn't the rosters wake us up today? WHAT DO YOU MEAN SOMEONE KIDNAPED THEM'

[collapse]

Or protagonists are so judgmental though XD like, those guys are geniuses.

It's pretty obvious when a character is going to become a reoccurring one, and each has their own role in the group. So far we got I-Love-Being-Rich, I'm-A-Surviver, Designagate-Baddass-Girl-Character, Jack-Of-All-Trades Guide, I'm-An-Invisable- (temp), and Designated-Woman-Character (Temp). I'm a sinner so I ship I-Love-Being-Rich and I'm-A-Surviver, even with the age gap, lol.#please-feed-the-poor-baby

EARTH IS ONLINE/Omisicent-Readers-View Point

  • "luck" just means "likability."
Unlike EARTH IS ONLINE's 'everyone can theoretically win', clubs game are specifically made in a way that someone has to lose in certain events, and the chance of winning sometimes depends more on how likable you are than anything else. In that way, the gameplay is more similar to Omisicent-Readers-View Point. However, unlike ORVP There is no 'hacking' in this game, and no 'glitches.' The gamemasters are very similar to EARTH IS ONLINE but with cards rather than fairytales.

As far as romance goes, the ML and MC, in my opinion, don't really match the ML and MC is EIO. EIO's characters are just so much more stoic, like they are cute, but in dandere like ways.

For example, in EIO the MC is like, "I killed a man, lol" and CR's MC is like "let's just tie them up and starve them, lol". <<less

Currently reading the raws (*cough* 333 chapters done). I'm waiting for updates now. It's a good novel with survival as the main focus. In their respective fields, both the leads are amazing.

The thing is, there are four types of rooms they have to go into namely Hearts, Diamonds, Spades, and Clubs - hence the name Card Room. They all have their respective themes. The Heart room is mostly focused on criminal investigation and since the ML is a police man and the Heart rooms get the maximum screen time, the... more>> ML waaay more highlighted than the rest of the characters. MC comes in second but still, seems less impressive than the ML.

Let's not even talk about the poor side characters, they aren't given focus most of time time. It's all ML and MC hogging the limelight. I would've liked it if both the leads, especially the ML, weren't so blatantly favoured.

Besides this though, the card rooms are interesting AF. Even without the romance, I wouldn't mind reading it. The romance is a slow burn (333 chapters in, and they're catching feelings now QAQ). It's worth it because otherwise I wouldn't have stuck around for 333 chapters! <<less

Just MTLed the first 32 chapters (the author double-updates all their paid chapters) and BOY was I sad I hit a dead end so soon! The MC and ML have amazing chemistry, but especially in regards to cooperating as professionals-- the first big mission of the second "book" is their first real cooperation, a school mu*der mystery, and it was a blast to read. ML being the head of a Major Crimes Unit and MC being a doctor of forensics, they both use their professional experience and skills to add... more>> their part to the overall puzzle, but it's all done in such a way that the "secret room" feeling never goes away. Ultimately, what they do is dig deeply into the depths of the mystery, and the author gave us a lot of meat on this bone.

Also, the MC and ML work so well together and are so good at what they do I'm just thirsting for them to get together o (-- ( <<less

This book left an imprint on my soul, as a fan of the unlimited flow genre this book offers perfection in every aspect. I grew attached to the characters and their dynamics. Don't even get me started on the world building, each arc is amazing and engaging, every single page kept me on my toes. Once you start reading it you won't be able to stop! This is the best unlimited flow danmei i've ever read.

I really wish I could say I liked reading this danmei but it was just a big fat disappointment.

First of all, the protagonists. I am not against the protagonists being so smart and in sync together they figure the situations without really having any issues, but the way it is written in this one just makes me want to pull out all my hair in frustration.

I think this is mostly because (and thats my second point) the setting is just so badly done. there is so many inconsistencies and plot... more>> holes and mistakes from the author that when you love unlimited flow danmei it is just so frustrating. like teammates have the MC’s card in their hand to go with their plan on the other side of the instance and yet MC is suddenly using the card to fight? or them repeating 4 times to be careful and the next chapter they just make the mistake they were telling being careful about?

This all just makes most of the characters really tiring to read about and makes me sigh really hard.

I think it would be more manageable to read (and that is my last point) if the author was not repeating thousands of times their reasonings every chapter. because everytime it is repeated it just makes you realise of all the issues there is in the flow of the story.

In conclusion, I put 2 stars because the initial idea was good and some characters are still enjoyable (mostly because they are minor characters so the author doesnt have time to butcher them with all the mistakes they make). but if you really like unlimited flow danmei I would suggest to just pass on this one because it is just really disappointing. I wish I would have dropped it instead of just trying to give it a 4th and 5th and 6th chance... my fault for hoping it would ever get better and then I was too far into the story to just not finish the last few instances to be done with it. <<less

I read this mostly in MTL and raws.

About the story

MC has a real life accident and enters a world in which he must survive different worlds in order to find a chance to escape back to reality. In the process, he'll encounter different people he trusts and seek to return to the real world together.

... more>> About MC

MC is, calm and collected, and able to think on his feet. He's a forensic doctor with a hobby for escape games and a love of history poetry. Some reviewers have mentioned that he's quite OP and I do agree with that, but still he was quite a wonderful character to read. I admire his steadfastness and resolve to keep the morale and focus of the team up.

Others have mentioned that it's a bit OOC for his behaviour after he falls in love, but as someone who had a first love later just like him, I can tell you that even being calm and collected doesn't prevent one from acting differently. So no, I don't think it's OOC. I just think everyone is different in how they behave and I can very much relate to how the MC was like even if it may seem a bit silly, No matter how old you are, first love can be shaky and uncertain for some people.

About the ML

The ML is very strong as a police with high combat skills and investigation. He's decisive and perceptive, and detail oriented when exploring mysteries related to his profession. He's devoted and protective of MC as their relationship starts from friendship and blossoms forth. He's also very straightforward which can make his interactions with MC both a little awkward and fun to read.

About the other side characters

There is quite a wonderful cast of characters and they don't get as much limelight as the MC and ML, but each still has their motivations and personalities. I think the author chose at time to focus more on MC and ML which diminished the opportunities to let other side characters shine. Likewise, some of the reviewers noted that other side characters had really great strengths but were sidelined to make MC and ML standout more which I agree happened at times. It would have been better to see more character development and plot focus on other side characters as well but it would make this novel a lot longer. As it is, the author focused more on MC and ML which is a choice some authors make. I would have loved to see this novel be even longer though.

One thing I really enjoyed about how the author humanized the characters was how everyone makes mistakes, MC and ML included. The mistakes are very reasonable and not suddenly s*upid decision that some authors do to try to gimp their MC. It made them all human and fallible without making it OOC for me. This part was really well done.

Addressing some of the other negative reviews

Some reviewers have mentioned that there was a lot of praising for the MC in his decision making. I do agree it was a little much but also because the author over emphasized the MC a bit much instead of distributing the eureka moments a bit more. However compared to some truly power fantasy stories, I would say the amount of that happening in this novel is rather very subtle by comparison. The side characters still got their limelight and heroic moments. Just less focus from the novel in the early team moments, but later on everyone had a more balanced role. Even the over dependence of MC became a plot point addressing some of this and how it actually hurt the team a bit. I'm not sure if the reader even got this far to read this because after this is a turning point where all side characters really strengthen up and act on their own.

Some comments have mentioned there was a lot of tell and not show, but actually I think there was a good bit of both. Some people prefer novels with a sense of mystery. This novel has that but also shows the motivation for character actions and also does some exposition dumps on the situation at hand. I was very glad to read this because I enjoy character development and I felt the exposition was placed exactly where it should be to explain certain things to the reader. The one downside really was neither the show or tell, but that the conclusions reached by characters while seemingly explained well are sometimes very large leaps in logic that are just lucky enough to be right. Some of it was too much of a leap given the information provided so it sounds fake. I think that is a more fair criticism of some of the logical reasoning rather than its method of delivery in show or tell.

There are critiques of this novel having some plot holes and I would say those are pretty valid but I didn't find it glaring at all. Minor inconsistencies happen in novels written in a continuous production of chapters nonstop. These writers don't get the same level of scrutiny and editor help as traditional novels so I usually cut them a bit more slack for that reason. They also have a very high production schedule which I am often in awe of. No matter how good or bad a CNovel is, never forget some of these authors update on a daily or weekly basis. I find it astounding that people can do this and while that can cause some continuity problems because authors have to keep churning things out, I still admire them for their work ethics and producing chapter after chapter on a tight deadline. It also did not negate my enjoyment of the novel though I understand for some, that is a very important part of the story. However, I would also say, has anyone ever read a novel with zero plot holes? I certainly haven't. However if this does perturb readers, I suggest you give it a chance and abandon ship if you find it unacceptable. Still I hope people give it a chance because I've really come to love and enjoy my time spent in this world with these wonderful characters.

About the Card Rooms and mysteries

I thoroughly enjoyed every room. I love how each one has unique stories some of which reflect human nature and or real life tragedies. There is suspense, mystery, and life and death scenarios in most of the challenges and the pace never slows down. With a hard magic system, this novel lets the reader imagine their actions and guess what move they will do next. I thoroughly enjoyed trying to understand everyone's abilities and imagining what I would do in certain situations. It's even fun when I figure out their next steps and or what cards they should use for the situation. It made this novel that much more engaging because everyone's abilities is known to the readers for them to also think of their own strategies or how they would do things differently.

My own critiques for the novel

What I would have loved is for the novel show more rooms that allow other side character to have the leadership role so that each world can showcase the strengths of characters in rotation. Often the worlds are more mu*der mystery themed which over emphasizes MC and ML's strength. If the author had focused on different characters, it would have been even more wonderful to read.

I would have loved for the characters to do a little more planning before heading into the Card Rooms. They did way too little of that which made me think they were very unprepared for some of the situations when they didn't have to be. I think that part of their prep was a bit artificially compressed for story length reasons, but more strategy and planning would have made sense for the team to work better so they didn't encounter all sorts of emergencies that happened due to lack of supplies for example.

I wish they explored more about the Card World itself and the reason for its existence. There was a lot of unfinished exploration that could have lead to a deeper understanding of the Card World and the factions within. I think it was a missed chance that we did not dive deeper into that and further more the faction story dropped off as soon as the characters advanced to the later room. This removed the chance for the reader to learn more about the factions and the emotional ties the characters have to the factions and their people. It doesn't make sense for the faction characters to go through the rooms without thinking of their people. That is definitely a huge part of the story that is left unexplored sadly. If only this novel was longer!

Tl:DR

This is an action packed novel of suspense, mystery, survival, and puzzles. If you like all of these and a very powerful couple MC and ML with wonderful side couples as well, give this a try. While there may be critics about it from different perspectives, at least for me, this novel took me to another world and made me wish it would go on forever. I absolutely loved it and will follow this author's other books for sure in the future! Please give it a try and make up your own mind. <<less

Honestly, I almost dropped it because someone said the MC became girlish or something and was the typical MC saved by ml. They also said he became the typical wife MC who cooks for ml... if all it takes for a male MC to become a girl was to cook or have moments where he needed to be helped by the ML.... something is wrong with you, ML is physically stronger while MC is really intelligent, so its natural for him to have some moment where he needed help, that... more>> doesnt make MC a damsel in distress.

Spoiler

There was an instance where the MC became the wife of the ML... maybe this was the reason why someone commented about MC being a man bla bla bla. it was actually really fun

[collapse]

While its true that there were some moment where the author overpraises the MC and ML, the teammates were in no way useless. if you stick to the end, you will recognise how strong and helpful they actually are. There are NO useless teamates AT ALL.

I actually really liked all the teammates and even though I did soubt their strength at first, it wass not the case.

RELATIONSHIP: Also the relationship between the ML and MC was cute. I found it normal for them to be shy instead of 'mature'. The person who looked down upon this because they compared it to the earth is online where they handled their relatioship in a more mature way...I dont really understand you. apocalypse or not, they have the right to be shy considering they have 0 experience in love. Also please keep in mind that the relationship between ML and MC actually pose no hindrance in the card levels. There were no uneceesary PDA, they were mature and it was clear to them that this was a survival world and not a lover's corner.

I can't believe I finished all 600+ chapters. I usually give up halfway through the longer books, but this one kept me interested throughout.

The MC was intelligent, gentle, and very analytical. The ML was strong and calm. The romance was not a main focus but it felt natural. A lot of the supporting characters were interesting and fleshed out.

As with all unlimited flow novels, there was a variety of different games/levels that the characters had to go through. Some were more interesting than others. I particularly enjoyed the survival type... more>> arcs. Some of the puzzle solving arcs lost me.

Overall a great read. I've read a lot of unlimited flow novels and this ranks as one of the top ones. Highly recommend. <<less

I MEANT TO PUT 3 STARS

I started reading this novel a couple of months ago. I got up to chapter 10 but was very busy at the time and ended up forgetting about it. I still haven’t picked it back up for a couple of reasons.

So far I dislike how every single chapter they have to mention how “MC is a really smart detective” or “MC is really good at escape rooms” like WE GET IT, PLS STOP MENTIONING IT. Everytime MC completed a card room, it would say “MC... more>> is really good at escape rooms that’s why he completed it”. It had me thinking, AUTHOR!! ITS OKAY FOR MC TO BE SMART, U DON’T NEED TO FIND A REASON EVERYTIME HE DOES SOMETHING COOL, and also how tf is BEING GOOD AT ESCAPE ROOMS supposed to help u uncover A f*ckING mu*der😃. (maybe i’m overreacting.)

Another thing I disliked was how CALM and RELAXED the MC was after:

-LITERALLY DYING.

-BEING SENT TO A WORLD WERE HE IS BEING FORCED TO PARTICIPATE IN LIFE OR DEATH GAMES.

-WHEN HE FOUND OUT THE ML WAS ALSO TRANSPORTED INTO THE LIFE OR DEATH GAME TOO.

Plus more, but his character is so unrealistic/stereotypical “cool, calm and collected guy” even tho a bunch of weird ass sh*t has just happened to him. like u just found out you died, ur friend (ml) died, and ur both being forced into deadly games. Bro acted like he was taking his daily walk lol💀

I might pick this back up later, but after seeing many bad reviews, disliking some of the characters, and the writing being kinda boring so far.... we will have to see👍 <<less

This is the novel that got me hooked with Infinite Flow.

forensic scientist x police officer – both the MC and ML are very smart and their personalities complement each other perfectly. The plot is great. I found each arc engaging and the translation is pretty accurate as well, so if you're here for the mystery, you're in the right place. The side characters in their team are also very well-rounded and unique. They don't have cliche personalities and aren't just there to praise the MC/ML. I love our 'golden master'... more>> CEO Shao :))))

some people have complaints about how 'feminine' the MC is – honestly, I'd say those reviews are exaggerating. The MC used to be a professor for forensic science, so it makes sense that he's more patient than the ML. We also know he's a caring person and has experience watching over his younger cousins, which explains why he acts 'motherly' or 'wifely' (caring about quality of life in a survival game, bringing different types of food and making sure everyone is well-rested, etc). I don't think those are 'feminine' traits, it's just the MC's background and personality.

Highly recommend :) <<less

At first, I was intimidated by the number of chapters so I skipped over it.

But then I got back to it and boy, am I glad I did.

From the MC & ML, to the supporting characters, all of them were well fleshed out and I could feel their growth as they cooperated and moved from one instance to another.

Plus the plot isn't super draggy at all! It's filled with enough action and suspence that leaves me at the edge of my seat and heart thumping. I was even tempted to... more>> skipped some parts to know how it ended but I presevered.

The extras are also good. They're like the sweet desserts you have after a heavy 4 course meal - light, fluffy and relaxing.

So worth the read. <<less

Really enjoyed this novel. Was finally willing to pick it up now that I'm no longer alone at home so I won't get too paranoid from reading thriller unlimited flow. And I have to say, waiting was absolutely the correct choice.

Each card room was quite entertaining. It wasn't horror per se but many of the rooms were definitely very creepy and tense. All the life and death scenes were gripping and really conveyed the tension and fear that the characters were experiencing. I didn't really like the one time use... more>> shenanigans in the last room, but it did make the room feel appropriately difficult for the final boss battle. The theme in the later rooms of never being able to trust your teammates and needing to be on edge against any betrayal or replacement was super scary despite being a pretty basic mechanism. I'm also curious what happens to the Card World now that they're out of there... does it just keep existing? Do the hunters die like they mentioned? What's going on.

Keep in mind that the romance is really really slow burn--heart palpitations don't start until like early 300s and they don't get together until late 300s, maybe even early 400s. They don't get much time together either. The extras do a great job in letting us see more of the couples together, but now I want more of them. So adorable. <<less
