Just as the person above says, the MC is very human. He grows in character as he goes to new worlds and in turn influence the ML.

The only regret for this reader is that there's no meat yet! ???????

Holy Mother of Premium Fudge Monkeys!!!

In a phrase, that's why you should read this... and all the way through, too! The first arc really doesn't do justice to how beautiful this novel is.

I actually really struggled through the 1st arc, so I think I just decided to skim it... Then I got to the second arc and I became full on intrigued by this novel and could not put it down at all!! It's smart, brilliant, connects all the way around, it's emotionally stimulating, exhilarating, and it has many depths!

So... more>> please, don't judge it by the first arc!

(edit) just reread the first arc, and I really don't dislike it as much. I honestly pity the ML because his trust issues run way too deep and he paid the price because of it. The first arc is definitely good, just the ending is tragic, for both the MC and the ML... just saying. End of edit.

Our MC isn't completely brilliant, but he's no idiot! He's an actor through and through and so he understands people through and through... He is not all around gifted and can do absolutely everything from cooking to hacking to fighting to knitting. He enters the world and then becomes a better, non-slag version of that person to the best of his ability. So basically there's a lot of impromptu acting and even BS-ing his way through some issues.

ML is an extreme yandere and full of skepticism... You can imagine how hard of a time the MC is having just trying to clear his name. While most may find the ML unpleasant, he does get better... sort of. The MC is able to match him more! Anyway, everything is explained in the final arc, but not immediately, takes some time. But ML's character and MC's circumstances eventually make sense! It's a great read! I swear!

My only complaint... the first arc. It doesn't really capture the reader and it has a pretty disturbing end... poor MC!

But don't let some evil 1st arc prevent you from reading! it's spectacular!

What is this. Every arc has me spurting out blood. The author has a serious problem.
Spoiler

First arc, the MC gets f*cked to death. I was like wtf, what just happened, why. Second arc, the ML kills him with a pair of shackles that froze him to death. Third arc, he gets shot by a gun after realizing that the ML loved his frozen body from the previous arc.

[collapse]
Long story short, the author is mental.

Man, people actually like this??? Its a pretty abusive novel and MC is constantly doing things that really mentally scares him.

Spoiler

In the first world, ML r*pes him to death because he got jealous of a misunderstanding. In the 2nd world,

ML imprisons MC and eventually kills him with this shackles that slowly makes him sick. ML treated him like a pet the whole time and MC dies because dumbass ML doesnt have the key. Still, MC, even knowing that ML is killing him, pretended to love ML even as he dies

Third world (the one I'm one rn) ML has some memories of world 2 and loves world 2 MC who died of that shackle. Everyone thinks of MC as a substitute.

MC even breaks down at the start of world 3 because he thought he failed the mission and cries because he put in so much hard work pretending to love someone he doesn't (his words, not just my interpretation). And even the system feels bad and says he should look into the therapy they offer LMAO

[collapse]

Overall, ML is always ab*sively overbearing and I know a lot of people like that (I mean, obviously, why else would this have high reviews) but MC is constantly walking on eggshells because I feel like he actually doesn't like ML like, at all. He's always scared of his reactions and whether he'll do something extremely like r*pe/imprison him. <<less

Yay! This novel is going to get translated. Nice pacing, less drama, and a smart and clever and humanely protagonist.

Five stars for the second arc, three stars for the rest of the story. Honestly, the second arc was a pleasant surprise, it blindsided me with how tragically beautiful it was. I honestly think that the author ahould have made it the first arc and built the rest of the story around it.

Unfortunately, the other arcs are pretty lackluster, the background context are simple and the romance pretty stiff and forced, most of the time, quite literally.

I honestly feel bad for MC. By chapter 50 we know that MC didn't... more>> do anything wrong to deserve the kind of pain he's being subjected to. He has to bear the sins of the original hosts who are quite honestly undeserving of his efforts. The original hosts are terrible people and MC has to always bear the consequences of their actions. The system is very unfeeling and cold and just seems to be disinterested to MC's state of health and mind.

The ML is the worst. He's only quite redeemable in the second arc, while being either a rapist or an as*hole in the other worlds. Honestly, he doesn't have a personality, just different psychosis in different worlds, be it obsession or aggression. So far, he has only not r*ped the MC in the second arc, but did harass, chain MC, and was the reason for his death. He did something that was supposed to slowly kill the MC for politics and had no way of stopping it by the time he was in love with him. Honestly, the way the MC dies in every world to leave him is just a small part of his karma.

The MC deserves so much better, I would have read this story just for the MC, but I still don't know if I will continue because I dislike the ML so much. <<less

Google translated the entire thing and that's saying something I guess.

A lot of reviews don't usually talk about the gongs so imma do it for yall. The gongs personality keeps changing as we go to different worlds. Its not crazy inconsistent though and they all share very similar personality traits. They are always in positions of power and are super capable. They're also typically tall and handsome. In each world they're undeniably possessive of the shou but I think their really crazy side isnt exposed/explored very well cuz the shou... more>> stays obediently by the gongs side to cultivate feelings. There is also a lack of (powerful) external forces/ competitors for the shou that try to tear them apart. (Which I personally think is a pity cuz I wanted to see a more deranged gong ?)

I actually quite liked the shou? He was spoiled and childish in a surprisingly endearing way. He isn't very smart or OP so to speak but he handles the missions in an acceptable manner. It does help that the gong just seems to instinctively fall for him in every world thus making the mission to cultivate goodwill easier.

Spoiler

Spoiler-ish? I guess?

I initially thought the shou was faking his childishness because of the whole memory loss thing in the second arc because his child- like nature isn't very apparent in the first arc. The first world consisted more of him getting used to things and freaking out for the most part. I thus couldn't get a feel of what he was really like in the first world.

Later on as he goes to different worlds it turns out that him 'faking' having a child's IQ in the second arc is actually the closest to his innate personality. And its what he continues with even in the other worlds because the original slag shou's don't solidify their personalities in front of the gong therefore making the character flexible. He thus just acts out his part with his own personality.

It was just something I didn't really expect? In a good way too I guess. Because that means the gong actually fell in love with a very real/candid version of him and that kinda pleases me for some reason?

[collapse]

The story in itself is not a bad read but it kinda fell short for me?I guess its just cuz I really like all that drama and angst. I live vicariously off good dogblood. And the story just doesnt have that much drama to it. It was very smooth sailing. And the angst is super minimal. It isn't even there tbh. At least not for me. (I wanted a lot more. There was so much potential?)

I personally really like the aftermath of the ghost king arc. That was kinda sad in the nicest way. (Anticipate it?) <<less

As of ch. 47:
I decided to give this a try after reading another work of the author despite the questionable description and reviews. I'm glad I did.

The story and the occasional dub-con is definitely questionable. However, it's not to the extent referred to in the reviews. What "the MC gets r*d to death in the first world" and "ML just kept the f*cking corpse like nothing happen till he was tranquilised"? There is definitely some exaggeration here. Here is the actual end of the first arc:

Spoiler

The ML definitely forces intimacy way too early in their relationship over something really s*upid. This is undeniable. The MC is still 'alive' when the ML leaves the room the morning after and even reminisces over his enjoyment over the latter half of the night. His system alerts that the mission has been completely and his soul leaves the body. The ML comes back and cannot accept that the MC is dead. He chastely hugs the body and lives a few days in denial with the corpse, even trying to feed it breakfast. This isn't necrophilia, it's extreme grief combined with guilt. The tranquilizer scene is when his family takes the body away to be buried, but ML is trying to fight them over it. He does a bad thing, but he definitely gets his just deserts.

Incidentally, it is revealed at the beginning of the next arc that the cause of death is not the night of s*x. It turns out that the MC is always inhabiting these characters upon their death, which somewhat suspends the fatal injury. The original host of the first arc was already dead from an injury to the head in the very first scene. Official cause of death is the resulting brain clot. So in this sense it *might* classify as necrophilia, but the ML is definitely not aware that the MC is inhabiting dead bodies considering the MC appears very much alive.

[collapse]

It looks like the main couple of this work will be another pair of baddies doing their best to hurt and love each other. I just might keep reading anyway. I'm somewhat curious about the 'why'. There is almost always a reason in this genre for the couple to be able to follow each other through transmigration (assuming this is that kind of story). The MC likely has some pre-existing tie to the ML or the original hosts or both. What makes him special? What has the ML done to make destiny so determined to break his heart? The slag shous weren't enough, so the MC comes in to really hammer it in??? Is this punishment for the MC or the ML or for both of them? So many questions and I can only read to find out the final answers. :)

My current rating is about a 3.5 or so. I am a sucker for tragedy. Unfortunately, I am not a sucker for dub-con or dramatic transmigration scenarios. I will raise it to a 4 later if the ending can make me weep.

Update:

Well... I didn't weep. It is a big bonus that the real life arc was much longer than expected and full of it's own ups and downs. The extremity of the early worlds and the reason for him to be chosen does get explained at least.
Spoiler

In retrospect, an elder (?) sent them on a massive virtual blind date in the name of science (?). They could be considered a cross-species relationship both physically (ML much stronger than any human) and culturally (ML raised to be a weapon). The elder/doctor that caused all of this to happen is the most questionable character in the story.

The doctor is the main drive behind the attempt to humanise the ML who carries alien genes even though and the ML are likely the last traces of their race. He won't let anyone disparage the extinct alien race, yet seems to have no intent on bringing them back beyond a fondness of the ML. Both he and the ML do not seem likely to have children since they have each partnered up with male humans.

Speaking of, what happens when the MC dies of old age? ML will likely self-destruct or start destroying planets...

Currently in the middle of Arc 4 raw, will edit when I'm finally done (I need to know the truth).

This is somewhat different from what I usually read in quick transmigration novel. Unfortunately, I don't like the concept. The author did mention in the summary that there will be abuse but I didn't know that it would be 100% glass shard and no sugar at all (at least until mid Arc 4).

Spoiler

Concept - Clean up the slag shou's rep
Mission - Get ML's happiness point to full 100
Requirement - Need the ML to say I love you, or a confession
Ending - MC dies the moment ML say I love you because that's the time his happiness point get filled 100%.

My comment - WTF. What's the point of raising the happiness point to 100 if you are going to make it drop to negative the next moment? What a great example of hitting people when they are down. Poor ML who gets his heart broken by the first slag shou, then MC comes along to clean his sh*t, then breaks his heart again by dying. I don't get this. Maybe the real reason would be revealed in the end but I really wanted to know what ML did wrong in reality to deserve getting his heart and soul broken at least twice in every world.

On the other hand, poor MC also because he did nothing wrong. He was only there to clean up other people's sh*t and suffer all the consequences, it's like getting preggo but without the deeds.

[collapse]

[Edit - Finally finished reading the novel]
The ending was unexpectedly good. Somewhat reminds me of Quickly wear the face of Devil a.k.a Face Slapping Devil. But I don't recommend reading the whole novel. If anyone wants to try to get into this novel, I would recommend starting from Last Zombie Arc and the Ending Reality Arc. Sure you might get confused over a handful of names, just know that those names belonged to MC+ML in previous arcs and almost all arcs ended in BE, that's it.

PS - If you don't mind jumping chapters here and there, I would recommend Arc 4 Ghost King as well. I love ML in this arc the most. <<less

When reading this chapter by chapter I become confused by MC sometimes for having low IQ when meeting ml. Then I become annoying of this kind of behaviour. Knowing that he should be professional for simply acting. You know he is a actor that he best at.

Then again I continue reading, till I read the chapter 36 or something that explain the reason.

Remembering the first world, Fu or whatever r*ped him and he become scared, panic attacks, etc. Since then it become hard for him to be calm when meeting the ML that make him remember the last world and the last.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but---did the MC just decide to pour dirty water on ML just because it was the most convenient move in the first arc?

I'm two chapters in and I can't already stand it. Kudos to the translator for their efforts but I still have to be honest and say that this needs a lot of work still to do.

First of all, WTF is going on with ML and MC's character? MC has no thought with the original body's sins, no scolding at the original or anything... more>> at all.

  1. Second of all, The f*ck do you mean the lower body of ML moved just after watching a f*cling television broadcast of the MC who nearly made him wear a green hat? The frick is going on---nah, I'll just drop this. Just the two chapters alone made me think that there is no healthy relationship between the two protagonists coming out of this.

The first arc seems cut short with the side characters first introduced fading into the background making it feel somewhat incomplete. There may be extras to fix this though as some others do after going through their works again. The MC is a bit s*upid (in a cute way) but I think that understandable giving the fact that he seems to have no breaks during his world hopping. I hope he doesnt go crazy) :

The MC is really human. He is not like other MC that can cope up/adapt unheartenly, it's more relatable this way. He is not overly genius but he is definitely not dumb either. The worlds aren't that easy breezy for him, he still has inner conflicts and stress while coping with the situations. I hate it when he plays the white lotus cutesy type though lol.

The ML is all what a yandere is tbh. Either hate him or love him. I happened to like him damn. His personality only have... more>> two words: extreme yandere. That's it. Other people tell him that he is a scum (true lmao), but honestly, yanderes are like these. If you want a "normal" doting yandere, I advice you to go somewhere else.

I give it a 4.5 stars because the writing, pacing, stories are really good. I thought this was just gonna be a so-so shallow story, but because the MC humanely character touches me I gave it 1 star more. <<less

It's something between 4-5 but I'll be generous and give this 5 stars. Chough, here we go:

Lmaaao every ending has left a bad taste in my mouth so far. From slag cheater to slag undercover, drama is great. I'm a sucker for anguish.

ML is a yandere through and through, this tag didn't disappoint me this time. No more slightly jelly MLs with cold attitudes! Or "I'm a spring breeze to you but I'm actually a freezer that seals eyes that dares to look at you in eyes" type! Nah, this... more>> ML is truly a goner. In the first world he r*ped MC, learned from his mistake but proceeded to tie him up with a chain and lock him up for a month in the 2nd one, slightly normal in the 3rd one but that's only considering no r*pe and chains...

He's actually improving, I'll give him that. 'Cause in the 4th one I have yet to see him go cray-cray lmao.

Well, I often question if the crater in his brain big enough to hold the Pacific Ocean in it, nevertheless I like him. I don't really know why but he just fits my type. All hail my fetishes.

Drama is good, ML is nice, then why did I hesitate to give this 5 stars?

Side characters? Who cares about them nowadays?

System's banter? It's non-existent here bruh let's celebrate. It shows up a few times but it's a sensible one and doesn't focus on selling meng. Just scams MC out of his points, a true business minded system.

It's the roles MC gotta pass through. His original character is quite lovable and humorous; but he always has to play pitiful, crybaby, docile, soft, and delicate young masters that I'm annoyed with. Oh God we gotta exterminate this species called White Lotus asap.

I'm sure as hell ML will like your true self more ma man, well, at least I do.

Anyways I'm hopeful of the 4th arc since the original host was a ghost and is ded for good so MC doesn't have to go that heavy on acting.

All in all, this novel is just here to make you cry and I suggest ya to give it a go. <<less

This novel ruins expectations. A lot. Few first arcs had good amount of angst in it, and that was the main reason for starting this novel. Welp, good enough. Still, later it became a complete joke - no angst and no plot development - pure dog food scattering. Main couple doesn't struggle, like, at all, because there is no plot what so ever! In each arc we are getting initial settings, which will slightly advance through the arc, but no real action included. I didn't like it. It was a... more>> struggle to finish the novel. In the end, I completely forgot teary feelings for the first arcs. <<less
