Ling Xiao was secretly in love with a girl named Mo Qi; because of an accident, they both crossed into the ancient times.

Mo Qi who was preinstalled with the Mary Sue halo, in these ancient times, walked to the summit with a golden finger.

However, Ling Xiao continued to be exploited by Mo Qi.

After he no longer had any values to exploit, he soon became a pitiful cannon fodder.

The heavens decided to take pity on Ling Xiao.

And gave Ling Xiao an opportunity for rebirth.

After rebirth, he vowed that all his enemies would repay him with a debt of blood!

However, why have all these enemies of his, fallen into the mode of cutting their heads open?

“Hey, are you really that unremarkable person who used to follow behind Mo Qi?”

The novel story is really not bad. I was hesitant to read this because there’s a lot or reviews said the ending is too rush, the MC become s*upid 1/2 way and ML (at the last chapter become violent...) I was afraid it turn out like the novel Eunuch is pregnant ?. But I glad it didn’t turn out that way.? hence the ending is indeed a bit short but it wrap up quite nice (Even it would be nice to have more details but it’s ok)
This a short story so I guess it’s acceptable at some level and not draggy, but would wish the more explanation and more in-depth of the situation and background.

But overall it’s quite a good lighthearted read. Nothing too heavy. Some good fluff, and good flow of the story. Everyone have a different taste of genre so for me this one it’s ok. Thank you.

This is one of my favorite ancient setting stories. They are usually hard to read but the translation and editing is top notch. Also there are explanations at the chapters end. Thanks for the hard work. ♥️♥️♥️

At chapter 50, I have half the mind to abandon the story. Story started out ok, the 'transmigrated and rebirth fake eunuch trying to outwit emperor' plot set up is quite fresh.

Plot became increasingly dumb and draggy. MC had many failed attempts at revenge- getting rid of Mo Qi, his ex-lover. I find myself disliking the MC's thought process. I don't really have much to say about the ML too. He is rather insipid. Their romance is neither fluffy nor exciting.

None of the side characters are memorable, maybe except for... more>> Fu Yujan.

The plot has several twists and turns but I've Long lost my interest. I've read some spoilers and was not at all thrilled by how the second part of the story progresses. <<less

Personally I found ML is a bit stiff & man of a few words (again this is my personal opinion not others). I suppose coz he's the emperor...

MC towards the end also daoused with vinegar, easily angry, & demanded ML to disperse his harem.

However good job for translators who worked hard to translate this novel. They also left some note here and there to give the reader better understanding/idea about the some sentences that is hard to translate to English. <<less

i actually really like it, I mean sure, the MC isn’t smart all the way but I guess when you reach a certain point whereby all obstacles are taken care of, the mc’s iq just

down. I mean okay fine, the authors are writers, not geniuses.

As someone who read it sometime ago and actually still remember some key moments, I’d say reading this leaves a memorable aftertaste in your mouth. The MC doesn’t have a harem by the way the tag is wrong.

The main couple is cute, well as cute as all cliche couples of one tsundere SHOU and iceberg GONG can be. <<less

This story doesn’t focus on the revenge part like it seems to be. But introducing an interesting dynamic in the palace and how the relationship between MC and ML come to be. Rich plot and characters development. Although, some characters are silly at first but they will be better as the story grows. At first, I only started reading this just to kill times but found a pleasant surprise instead.

Recommend for those who like clever MC and ml.

I'll say this first I loved this book, I found it genuinely funny and was always engaged the entire time. The romance seemed natural and I was always excited to see the two of them interact.

That being said, the author does something interesting that I haven't seen often in novels.

Despite there being so many harem intrigue novels and novels with the premise "The emperor/king fell in love with me", they rarely show the power imbalance that comes with romancing a monarch.

In this novel it's clear that being favored gives the main character a lot of power throughout the novel, that's what he was going for in the first place when approaching the emperor. But once the romance begins it's clear how on edge the main character is the entire novel.

Despite the two leads genuinely being in love it's made clear that one wrong step can land the main character on the chopping block, no questions asked. Every time there is a confrontation between the two leads it almost always leads to the main character kneeling to the emperor in fear. Not exactly what you want in your relationship.

There's a line "“[So] I should keep myself pure for him while he can have a couple wives and concubines in the harem?”" That's a fantastic line because it's historically accurate. That's exactly how it was! Not just in ancient china but Europe as well. The kind could cheat/ have as many spouses as they wished but if their wives cheated they were put to death.

To see all of this put in a novel and showing us how frustrated and scared the main character is throughout the novel is such a wonderful take on what is admittedly a common trope on having a royal fall in love with you.

I genuinely hope this was what the author was going for because I found it brilliantly done and would recommend anyone attempting to write a novel based in this time period to read this first.

Getting revenge against people who betrayed you, never been better than this novel.

Even if you are at low point you can get what you want with right mindset.

And Beautiful, clever and dunnu protagonist are just my thing

It started good, and I love the pairing. I actually like MC at the start. So clever. And I imagined him as a manly one. But then in the latter part, he's being portrayed as an ethereal beauty

This story is good and very satisfying to read. ML loved MC very deeply and had done everything for him. I really like the end of the story, it's unexpected.

I also like the fact that how MC didn't make revenge a big deal and how he won over the enemy (the guy even ends up liking him). Also I especially like the fact that story told us ML liked MC both in previous and current lives.

My 3rd time reading this now. Its a good bl novel. The ML is the posessive type but I love. The MC at start was honestly good, too scared that the ML will kill him ahahahah. Around middlish end MC becomes somewhat annoying but then again overall reading tbis was a really good one.

There's a lot of plot packed in, some parts dragged and others sped through, this hit a lot of my personal like points, so I enjoyed it, but the ending last 4-5 chapters were a bit of a drag to get through, logic wise. The beginning is re-birth/transmigration face slapping revenge, ML sweeps in, veers towards everybody loves MC, otp unite, ML OP-est in empire, MC hearts eyes, careens towards harem politics, ML & MC both eat vinegar, and then ends with dog food. So I really liked this novel. It was fun, cute, romantic, and kept me guessing the moves of each major player. The relationships develop really organically and didn't feel too forced, so it was really believable when people came together after strife or a change of heart. The mood of the novel is kind of "psychological analysis" I'd say, with the majority of the exposition and thoughts being about guessing what the other characters are thinking or planning. Kind of like one big mind game.

The MC and ML have an... more>> interesting relationship that at some moments had my heart pounding and at other moments had me kind of over it. They really don't open up to each other until way late in the book - but I guess that's why it's a mind game type book. No one reveals all their cards until the very end.

The book is pretty straightforward in it's path - no major plot twists or turns. I was a little disappointed by this actually though because once the main conflict is resolved, the following chapters just seem like "Extra" story or filler until the end where secrets are fast revealed. I don't know pacing toward the end could have been a little more in line with the climax of the story is what I'm saying.

The "adult" parts aren't very in depth for anyone wondering. Kind of glosses over it but the beginning of it is still there. Then the scenes just kind of end abruptly. <<less

Not bad but not particularily good either. Sometime in the middle I thought that the emperor also traveled through time and that why his character seemed different from Ling Xiao's memory. Like traveled really far back and changed so he could protect him this time.

The ending seemed a bit rushed.

This was cute! Always a shipper of the main couple but one of the male leads really made me sad that this didnt have a polygamy tag, wanted all my babies to be happy. A really great read either or.
