it's not bad but it's not that good either. It was okay.

sometimes (rarely) it got quite boring. The pacing was quite slow.

MC would often do contradictory things. And the thing where the ML becomes the most handsome guy after losing weight *ahem*

its a light read.

you definitely get some tips on dieting. *Absolutely serious*

the plot is quite good.

a refreshing thing is that it's one of those stories where nothing is quite exaggerated. The characters are normal 3-D human beings.

would take around a day or two to complete if you binge.

Honestly, I was driven to rage while reading this. I am a person who is not good with people and surely selfish. But I also grew up with a mother who was (and still is) brutally honest, so, I truly adore Camilla. I can not hate those who tell the truth, even if it is not something I want to hear. And more than that, I can't stand injustice. I was driven to tears in the final ark. Honestly, this was so well written and simply wonderful that it would... more>> be a shame not to review. And I'm so happy that I kept reading despite my anger at Camilla's circumstances and got to see how Camilla grew and affected those around her with her brutal honesty. If you can hold off your anger and continue reading this story until the end, you will surely love this tale of two lonely people pushed together and helping each other grow into such wonderful people. And I'm certain you'll see that Camilla, while willful and selfish and so unbelievably human, is a beautiful and awkwardly adorable young lady. And Alois, he grew so wonderfully as well all because of that lovely girl and her sheer stubbornness. <<less

The characters are very flawed and feels human.... at least for me.

The story progresses like an anime; divided into arcs and each arc focuses on a problem that the FL and ML has to solve as the Duke and Duchess-to-be while making new friends along the way. I made it sound terrible didn't I? lol

But I actually enjoyed it. Their relationship progresses quite realistically and not the fall-at-first-sight kind of thing. Instead, the story shows how they try to trust each other first before they developed feelings.

Fluff, Slice of Life,... more>> Comedy but if you look closer it's quite dark and dramatic, especially in the last arc where everything was just mind blowing palace drama. They really did a good job showing human greed.

Kinda concerned by how little the FL cries after all she's been through though : ( ( ( (Being misunderstood and abandoned and all that : ( ( ( ( (( <<less

I'm literally in tears as I'm writing this review. At first, I came into the novel with the intention of doing some light reading, but it became so much more than that.

Camilla, our protagonist, is really such a sweet girl at heart. She makes me want to root for her no matter what she does. Camilla may not the be the smartest or the most capable protagonist, but she most certainly has her own charms. Even when she suffers, she never gives up on herself and even manages to inspire... more>> hope in others. Gaaah, I just love her so much!!

Our male lead is also not a simple character. He has so many layers to him that through the novel, I felt like I was in the process of peeling an onion lol. I won't say too much about him for fear of spoiling, but he and Camilla are a great match, and I honestly adore him to bits as well- the way he develops alongside Camilla is just heartwarming to read!

I have so much to say about the other characters, but if I continue I'm just going to blab on forever. Moving onto the actual plot and pacing, there are no complaints on my end. I've read reviews that dislike the pacing of the story, but I feel like that's because they're waiting for something major to happen, which isn't a very good idea.

So if you're planning on reading this just for the satisfaction of seeing Camilla bring her enemies down to their knees, don't. That's not the point of this story. I'm not going to tell you what exactly that point is, but if you decide to pick up the novel and see it to the end, I'm sure you'll be able to come up with your own conclusion.

You won't regret it, I promise! <<less

This was surprisingly very good. I have read a lot of novels in this genre so I wasn’t expecting to find anything new but this has exceeded my expectations. I kinda wish there were more chapters dealing with the main and side characters after the ending.

Really a good novel. It is a blend of fairy tale and a few politics.

The novel is more about character development and the politics of the duchy, hence consumed too many chapters.

MC was shown to be a typical noble girl with sharp tongue, arrogant, straightforward. This landed her in trouble. While the ML shown to be the person who holds his emotion and tries his best to be a polite person.

Mc's supposed crimes were exaggerated and framed. The newspaper and rumor made her to be the most hated Villainess in... more>> the country. She was forced to marry the ugliest noble in the land, whom no one wanted to marry or be exiled out of the country with nothing but her clothes. ML took pity on her but didn't planned to marry her, so kept her as a guest. The rest of the story follow their relationship, interaction and character development. There twists are predictable, but worth our time. <<less

Well... This was a really fun and frustrating story (in a good way tho ~) I really recommend, even if this have a little bit of cliché plots, they're enjoyable! I just love the character development... But Camilla, the protagonist, to me at last, seems to be a little bit plain compared to another characters like Alois, Klaus or another people inside the story, more like a development itself in her, I see her like a brigde that can allow other characters grown up... Wich it's not bad, but neither... more>> good...
Spoiler

I wished that she could see what's her own behavior cause and try to improved herself throwing away that idiotic actitud she had, screaming at everyone that she hasn't done anything bad, and make it all worst for herself... But I can't complain to much, her personality seems to be the honest idiot that can only act with imprudence

[collapse]

Wathever, I stop reading in the extras cus I don't want to read something that can disappointed me... My ideal happy ending was settled after all! I don't want to read some useless plot that can only ruin the story, that's my biggest fear ajajja <<less

One of the romances reads that really satisfied me.

Sure there is some cliche but the characters felt more alive. Some characters arcs weren't fleshed out much. But that wasn't a criticism really.

MC can be unbearable due to her flaws she kept showing but I feel like I can sympathize with her due to circumstances that has happen to her.

... more>> Because it is slow life you don't get that romance vibes at the beginning at all. But what really I find most interesting is the chemistry between the MC and ML.

I never thought a ML could make me be more invested with his character growth than any other ML that I have known.

This might not be for everyone though. Because there are a lot of instances in the story that makes the reader feel frustrated.

But I like the flaws all of the characters have. How the MC is a strong person in which in the situation she is in could literally make a person go mad in despair.

She has a strong flaw that makes her a little unbearable but I find some of her strong points charming. A rare MC where I actually like despite her attitude. <<less

At first I thought it would be something different, but this is clearly a reverse harem story. The main male lead (for now) is not in focus anymore and there is a new harem member named Clous who is in the spot light now. I think there should be a reverse harem tag.

Honestly, you need to take some times to cool down before continue reading. You need a lot of patience to finish reading this novel. Trust me!

This novel is realistic as it did managed to portrayed the ugly side of politics and power struggles. The author clearly made a point that all these noble people like Prince (the bad dude) and Duke (the ML), they are powerful not only because of the position itself but it's because of the people. Yes, the people that has the power to them. Although the... more>> ML is a Duke and he did tried hard to work for the town but he didn't get the support from his people hence he was more like a puppet. He was powerless and kinda pathetic. The maid has more power than him.

The character of the ML were simply portrayed as ugly, obese, weak and the list go on. He accepted whatever 'treatment' given by his maid/servant and people. He didn't dare to retaliate because he was driven with his past. He remain pathetic to appeased the people.

The FL is the reason why I finished reading this book. She was really strong willed, passionate, brave and will bicker with everyone. She is often described as the villainess including her own parents but no one knows her true self. Even she was lost and confused. Due to her crazy but harmless schemes to win over the Prince, she was exiled to the 'dead' town and forced to marry the ML aka the ugly and obese Duke.

The interaction between them started off negatively but eventually they get close to each other as they travelled through the town to gain the people's favor. The FL unknowingly become the ML biggest support and influence. All the negative things about her turned positive and eventually tied them together with the whole town.

The supporting characters were quite interesting as well. Some of them are funny and loyal to their master. Each of their story will also affect the relationship between the FL and ML.

Despite all that, I rate this novel 3 because I was kind of disappointed with the ending.

Both the FL and ML were initially showed as powerless couple and constantly being 'bullied' by people around them including maid and servant. Only at the very end, all their hard word finally paid off and people hailed them as hero.

The ML wanted to propose to the FL but at that time she was still heartbroken hence it was postponed. The proposal part or the wedding was not given details much at the end. It was know in the extras from the annoying letters written by her bit*h sister to her. The extras part in the novel are all exchanging letters between them. From the letter, reader can know about story after the aftermath. The letter part was truly annoying to me. The author robed the main lead engagement and wedding part. Damn!

Since they had gone through so much, as a closure, it will be nice to read more on their after married life. I really wanted to read about the FL finally bossing around with her handsome husband and showing them the real boss. That will be a just nice. But yeah, you gotta use your imagination for that. <<less

This is a well written story with realistic characters.

Certainly, the earlier chapters are difficult to read. The FL has had her reputation absolutely shredded and gets bullied by everyone. Some of this is indeed her own fault - she has the temperament of a villainess (-75% to reputation gains) and her initial plans starting off in this series are absolutely selfish ones.

Some reviews have complained about the ML. What do you expect? It takes a while for the ML to warm up to the Villainess, who is this unknown woman... more>> forced upon him with a terrible reputation, gets in screaming matches with all the staff, and her only interaction with you is to demand that you lose weight. With neither party having the right personality to resolve this deadlock, the author contrives a series of events to initiate reconciliation - and this is indeed the most realistic approach given the initial premise.

Some reviews complain about the ML's inaction following this. What do you expect? He's surrounded by the stench of failure and of conspiracy and corruption. Whether it's actually conspiracy or a deeper issue on the ML's part that needs to be addressed, the hints that are dropped suggest that it's not an oversight by the author but a properly planned plot arc or characterization (or both).

This is a tale about two damaged, flawed characters slowly building their relationship while filing off the edges. I see comments heavily criticizing either the FL or the ML every few chapters, and it annoys me - these aren't idols that are meant to be flawless but characters that still need to grow.

I'm looking forward to reading through the rest of this story. <<less

I'm not even going to rate it because I can't bring myself to read this novel. There are too many 5 star ratings. Are our tastes that different?

This novel makes me feel too angry I made it up to chapter 16 with unpleasant emotions. I skipped a lot of parts because they just make me feel upset.

The MC is treated unfairly even by the ML. No matter how hard the MC explains her side everyone just keeps on judging her! Even the ML! The treatment will probably get better after... more>> this chapter because the ML finally decided to lose weight here. However, I read the other reviews that even up to chapter 40, the MC is still being hated on. I'll probably keep on skipping those parts as well, so there's no point in reading anymore. <<less

TL; DR: Recommended! Join in for the long haul, you wouldn't regret!!

To be honest, I was considering dropping this for its initial slow pacing and kinda boring chapters..

I also wasn't that fond of the characters' personalities, and everyone around the MC was just infuriating.

... more>> Still, I kept reading on, plainly because I wanted to see what will happen at the end.

I binged read this all within 12 hours, and needless to say, by the point I reached the near-end, I had to agree with some of the comments who said they were just teary eyed.

Most novels like this would often do a full 360 on the characters' personalities just to emphasize how much had changed, but in this novel, the characters' personalities w/c I initially disliked, was something that grew on me. It wasn't like they became a different person, it was just that the small changes were so impactful that it just managed to tie the story as whole. <<less

I won't say this is my favorite novel of all, but it was one that certainly impressed me as I went through reading. My expectations were that it was going to be a generic otome novel, in fact, I didn't check the tags and I was sure this was an isekai story, it is not. I expected the protagonist to be a good person that was misunderstood or was actually super kind-hearted and benevolent... Not this either. I also thought that the male protagonist would be either some sort of... more>> joke character (because he is fat), or end up as a generic male hero that is essentially perfect besides some small details... Very far from it.

The story starts with the protagonist already on the male protagonist's house, she is everything that you would expect a villainess to be: She is proud, all about nobility, and very, VERY hot headed, and the whole story about her downfall is already known by the people similarly as a fairy tail, with Camilla as the most hated villain in the country, of course, as you expected, she is innocent for the most part, but she admits that using underhanded tactics was something she accepted and did, and if someone start dissing her (the villainess of the story) without knowing that the person in question is right in front of them, do not expect a sensible heroine, she is the villainess that will confront and make people cry even if it's by abusing her authority as a noble.

Meanwhile, the male protagonist surpassed my expectations, he has many faults, he is not perfect, and he goes through a lot, this is not a reverse harem story, the male protagonist is just as much of a main protagonist as her, and his traumas and past are quite innovative in this genre (at least for me, the plot twist at the end could be predicted right before it happened, but I would never expect something like that at the start).

The villains are multiple, it's not just the "heroine" that stole the prince, and all of them have their own motives, and to some extent, everyone is a little crazy in the way they express their feelings towards those they like, or how they themselves suffered in their past, you end up hating them personally at every time they appear, but thanks to the extra stories, all of them receive an ending, which I felt was very satisfying overall.

Since the story is finished, it's a really good fast reading for when you want something relatively short, although it may end up consuming all your time as you can't find a stopping point and want to keep on reading. <<less

Don't quite like how they look each other, really. One thought that he is the lord and absolutely know it all, and the other just so self centered, sometimes annoy me so hard.

I know this is too early to say this, but really. The dominant feeling here just... wrath.

But overall this is good.
