The tpyical a reborn chinese novel. She's reborn and slapfacing her sister and concubine.

Some potential male lead show up in the beginning. And author keep tell that they are so handsome handsome make you blush and blush. Female lead will afraid because of how obering the male lead potential or blush and shy because their handsomeness. But then female lead became normal when they go away.

Her sister keep give the female lead trouble again and again. Like wuw girls you're so scheming eventhough ofcourse she failed again and again lol.

And... more>> MC's father, I dont know how to decribe it. He love MC, when MC wronged he mad then with a small coax from his concubine and concubine's daughter (MC's sister) he soft and forgive them then proud of all his lovely daughter. But I said that MC's sister keep give MC trouble, so her father became mad and soft then mad again and soft forgive MC's sister. The father will br crazy soon.

Well, its rather just a small beginning chapter. I dont know how it will be next. But I cant stand character of the father, and how author keep making ML potential so handsome so detail so can make MC blush so obering. I think it will be complicated, one of them because ML's background. <<less

Story: basic but interesting, like many romance novels. Lots of face slapping and very little logic.

Writing: Horribly translated with no editing and stuck behind a pay-wall past chapter 55. Really not worth it.

I got disappointed with the female lead. She is much less competent compared to other female lead of other novels. For some reasons, she always leave her guard behind, many times she is saved by pure luck. She cannot handle even small trick from villain (Which make me confused: is it that easy to fram a girl's reputation?), and more importantly, she always say she will revenge, counter, bla bla.... but very little action, and always be passive. Although it is the usual run of the mill rebirth and revenge story, I do like it.

However, I hope TapRead gets an editor to edit or read over the translation before posting. There are a number of obvious errors with names which should be MXM instead of MXT and vice versa changed arbitrarily that caused frustration for the readers. Im not sure if it is the author who has not done her proofreading or it is the translation site. Many good translators read through their own work and then change... more>> to the obvious.

Further, the part where LingYan confronted MXT on the carriage incident is very confusing. We all know that it was someone hired by Fang Yiniang who will blame that MXT's carriage ran over someone but how did it ended up to be LingYan's carriage and this being the cause in the end YYC refused to marry her as described in chapter 42 0r 43?

I hope Tap Read could edit these obvious names changed if it is the author's mistake as it is a shame to have this sort of errors in translation. <<less

Her character is likable for me. She doesn't appear too overbearing or too strong (which is relatable since the ancient times prefer gentle woman). But I think I prefer the other work from the author, The Devious First-Daughter more. This book chapters are very long and I just couldn't read it thoroughly until the end, so I skipped lots of chapters. There is just not enough attraction for me to stay focused on reading it. However, it is just my opinion :)

The writing is not bad and can be followed on most sites without becoming an alphabet soup. I won't give direct spoilers but it is brain-numbing at this point how many times she is simply to unsupported and weak to have her "clever" dragged-out revenge plan. She needs to man up and actually use the few people around her incl the male lead. Who doesn't hate the person that says "No! I can do it!" and then they fail the whole group because they COULDNT 'do it' and someone had... more>> to bail them out. Okay don't trust ANYONE, but keep it inside.. Friking take the help of your minions and friendly family when offered at least!

This novel is interesting in that the FL is not overpowered, she only has the memories of her previous life and tries and make decisions that will help her. One aspect of the novel I admired was that she realizes her own shortcomings and

She does create some worthy face slapping situations but there seems to be alot of intrigue and political situations that she finds herself facing and her previous life has no answers for. One annoying aspect of this novel is that

The beginning is interesting, the starts is like most reincarnation novels. Evil step mom and evil half sister who stole her husband with a dead mom.

However I wanna see how she plans to get her revenge. And how her relationship will be with her dad. Also can't wait to meet ML!!!!!

The translation is nice.

For the first 10 chapters, you'll be confused because they won't really explain the relationship between the characters properly. Typical revenge and face slapping drama. One difference is that the villains are relentlessly plotting against our protagonist. There is no break in between the schemes at all. Its like everyday the female lead will have to defuse the danger coming her way. It can get a little irritating. Also the another thing is that its understandable the villain characters are irrational and will use bad words to scold the heroine.... more>> But they all call her with the bad word "Slut" as if there is no other bad word in their vocabulary. The reason why I mentioned it here is that this word pops out very often (its literally everywhere).. ? I wouldn't recommend this for lighthearted reading as it contains way too much plotting. The female lead is a total damsel in distress type. She keeps fallling into other plots repeatedly. You would think that a person who was reborn would have some awareness and caution.. Alas.. That is not the case here. The only thing that makes you continue this novel is the mystery behind her mother's death. This novel has nothing much to stand out in the sea of rebirth-revenge dramas. <<less

Though I do not use to review, this one make me so fraustrated.

... more>> FL can't beat just evil mother & daughter pair easily.

It's seem she can but the evil people never die and sprouted again and again and again...

Can understand some points that she's a housewife and not smart enough like other FLs.

However, she always gets hurt becoz she didn't take lesson from previous mistakes/ didn't bring bodyguards/ though she know a trap and directly fall in without preparation.

She's always in trouble ML or second ML be the one who save her.

She is too immerse in past and can't get over and can't counterstrike easily.

The minor villians are still alive two third of novel.

It's sweet to read chemistry btn FL (13yr) and ML (16z/17) in one third of novel.

Firstly, it's portrayed fresh, innocent, sweet romance. So, it's so lovely to read.

But after their marriage before FL turns 14 for some reason, their bed scence (not 18+ /s*x just blah blah...😄😁) make me imagine underage couple and can't sweet anymore.

Lost my patience and finally dropped now.. Sigh😪 <<less

It was actually nice if you're someone like me. A person who endured more scheming novels than this one QAQ.

The character development for this one is nice. You can see it by her thoughts and actions throughout the novel.

At first, she was just focusing on her revenge then she discovered that there's more to her death than meets the eye.

... more>> I would say she became more wiser after she died once. After all, who wouldn't?

The plot is nice. The first part was her revenge to the people who wronged her in her past life and current one.

And the latter part is more focused on the fight to the throne. The scheming between the different factions of the princes.

I don't like the ending tho. It feels a bit rushed to me. I don't know if it's just me.

They just packed it all up in one chapter and dumped it all in. That's just so infuriating.

And it left me feeling complicated. That's why I don't like love triangles and rectangles. They made me emotionally confused at the end.

In the end, it's a nice, good read.

If you're looking for a historical novel, this is the one.

Just a little advice tho; skim the scheming and faces-slapping part if your feeling impatient already. It helps.

This actually has 4 fanwais. It wasn't still translated, I don't know if they're gonna continue or not. You can read it in mtlnovel or just search it directly. 3 chapters is about Qin Yufeng and 1 chapter about Mo Xuetong and Feng Yuran's children.

If you put the elements of this book in bullet points, it would look pretty average, but the writing style is extremely engaging! The way it's written adds a lot of interest and makes you want to keep reading more. Update: Having now read up to chapter 178, I would now drop the rating from 4 to 3 stars. The male lead is obnoxious and overpowered, and as he gets involved the FL goes from being extremely capable and tough to asking him for help constantly. Also, the writer is... more>> constantly talking about how even though the FL is 13 and has an 'underdeveloped body', she's just so gorgeous and all the men want her. It's somewhat uncomfortable to keep reading lusty thoughts about a child. <<less

So far I have found the story to be quite interesting. The only thing that is pissing me off is the mother-daughter, otherwise also known as, the c*ckroach pair. Ugh, I really feel sad for the MC and the last chapter that I read has left me quite depressed. Her feelings have realistically been portrayed. Honestly, the beginning was promising, the middle was dragged and stuffed with fillers, and the ending was rushed.

In the first life MC lived in a bubble, she was separated from her father due to the lies and deception of her shu sister and aunt. She trusted the aunt and in the end lost her dowry, life and family. In the second life her goal is revenge. She set her goals to avenge her death and her mother's death. She outlines who to keep away from (QYF) and tries to stop... more>> the disaster of the General's Manor (maternal family).

MC's age and timeline:

It is a good read if you can forget that for the whole novel (until the finale), she's 13-15. Story starts at 13, she encounters the ML, gets to the capital, schemes against her aunt and sisters, gets engaged and married before 14. She turns 14 at chapter 512. I don't get how a grown king (older brother of ML) is attracted to her. Also it bothers me how they women in the story keeps referring to a 13-14 year old sickly kid as a sl*t just because guys look at her face longer.

A funny thing I noticed was that MC's new stepmother has been pregnant for half the novel.

MC insists on doing things on her own (commendable), but some things I feel should be discussed with ML (her husband) as it can affect him if things go awry. She gets kidnapped 4 times (that I remember). And each time, ML saves her and her reputation. She doesn't actively scheme against people because she's poisoned and ill before even marrying ML. Which is why I think she doesn't actively go and kill her enemies.

FYI, sometimes the logic for some face-slapping scenes aren't there. Like why is her father (who solves crime for a living) unaware of her mother's identity. I get that he loves her and all but at this point I'm going to think he's not very bright if kids half his age can guess his wife's identity (YYC, QYF, ML). On that note, how is ML more powerful than his father the emperor? He finds out things about his father's harem before the emperor does.

QYF, the cousin is polarizing. But we get a glimpse of his reasoning in the extras. I only read it until the end because of this. I feel bad for him.

The ending is the last 4 chapters (the finale) just reads like the author's writing note. It's only elaborated at 2 points, 1) the confrontation between ML and Bai Yihao and 2) MC and ML after the war. The mystery of the Lan family, and the Qin family is lost on me.

He becomes emperor of yan in bothe lives. In the first he didn't honor the engagement but in the second life he insists on honoring the engagement with MC. Which is why MC rejects him so much. In the second life she is "valuable" and can contribute to his cause. But in the first life, her face was ruined and she lived in the Mo family without socializing. His mother poisoned MC's mother, which is wild. Because they're both sisters.
