It was an ok read. I do recommend it if you wanna feel something.

This is only my opinion: The characters were made pretty well. What annoyed me was the details of so many memories between him and his brother and how perfect the little brother was, plus their relationship. I guess for me it feels too unbelievable even if I have brothers and lived in not good conditions sometimes.

This emptiness.... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa this howling of two brothers soul! This pain! Why is this world becoming like this? yes accidents happen but what happened in this story could have been avoided if only those brats were taught well by their parents, if there was no different treatment of laws based on who has what level of power, money! In real life, bastards like those teenagers just get away. Trust me, it happened in my country! Many times! Today's youths are very cruel. Rising amount of crimes committed by youth is... more>> enough to prove. Buying law with money is the most common thing. And people like Zhou Wu keep dying as if they were born to die. Only that, there's no Zhou Wen in real life and no one blinks an eye over a small news of accident. Just so many hearts silently break, they whisper out the curses! We have a local saying which means 'wailing of souls will leave no one at peace!' no one hears that but every f*cking person has to bear this burden of this wailing and pay for this. Rich children drunk driving or street racing and ended up killing a person, and then suffering little to no consequences for it, it's too real and too common.

What's even more common is for drivers to intentionally kill the victim after they hit someone to make sure the person is really dead. I've heard this said by normal people, taxi, truck drivers, people you wouldn't expect to be a mu*derer. Because it is better to serve a jail sentence than to pay reimburs**ent if the victim is left disabled. It is insane that we've made such rules that placed money above people's lives, and no one cares enough to change this.

It's only when it's your son, your brother, it's someone you love who is the victim, that you will know it is better for the victim to be disabled than to die. I'm sure many of those parents would rather have a disabled son than a dead son.

The relationship between the brothers were very sweet and gave additional angst and tears, but I'm sure that even if they had not been so close, I would have still cried regardless.

This novel, the type where you'll cry in every damn chapters..... well, at least for me, I did cry, and still hick-up-ing even now.

I want the author write a reincarnation story for them. I just want them to be happy.

This is a truly heart wrenching and a very painful-to-read novel. I felt that my heart died a little every chapter I read. There was only five chapters but the tears I cried lasted for more. I also have siblings so I think that if I was the one on his shoes, I would probably do the same. Ah, I'm still tearing up while writing this review. Five chapters were enough for the author to portray series of emotions that will leave you lost, grieving, and lonely. I don't think... more>> I have the courage to read this again since it is really painful to do so but I would probably remember this novel for a very long time. <<less

It was an interesting short read.

Generally, I really like revenge stories that focus on the characters, because they deal with the theme of justice and what being human really is.

This novel has an interesting concept and it is engaging enough to read in one sitting. It deals with a few interesting topics quite realistically and it has some pretty interesting characters taking into consideration that it is only five chapters. However, there are times that it also feels a bit unrealistic, especially when it comes to the relationship that is... more>> being portrayed and of course, because of its length, the characters are not that greatly fleshed out. I think two more chapters would make a huge difference and they would create a much more impactful story. <<less

This is really the most heart wrenching story I've read on nu, I don't recommend this, definitely not! Though it worth five stars.

Such strong feeling of helplessness and despair made me want to desperately enter in the book and save the protagonist and his brother from cruel world.

I'm definitely not going to re-read this ever but hats off to the author for writing this masterpiece.

The emptiness I feel now, makes me loathe this world. I only wish for author to at least write an alternative universe, where both the protagonists... more>> have happy ending. <<less

I like it a lot because it's something that is true in real life: the rich think they are allowed everything, they think that everything has forgiven them just because they have power and then pretend to be the victims, so sad. Unfortunately, this is something that has always existed and will always exist, nothing can be done about it. 😭😤

My gosh !!! This is so good and so painful.. The brotherly bond is depicted so well that one could feel the sensation of choking up for a long time after finishing it..

Paying up to shut the law after committing a crime, even as serious as mu*der, is a very common occurrence for the riches and the powerful ones.. Just that the victims don't have a brother like the protagonist..

Hats off to the writer..

I love angst stories, especially the non-romance once, like this, it gives you a sense of realism, it portrays realistic life events. Just have to read this, I cried a river. Another novel I could think of that gave you this sense of helplessnes is probably Khaled Hosseini's and Haruki Murakami's. Superb, kudo to author.
