I like this novel, it is just, I wonder if I keep reading it, I will die from frustration. The female lead always refrained from anger, she was always defenseless, making me feel angry and sad. I want her to protect herself more. ?

I’m writing this review firstly to tell others not to get ahead of themselves thinking this or that about this novel especially when it only had about fifty or so chapters at the time having rated this. When actually, up to this point, you’ll realize how amazing this novel is. Well, compared to a majority, it’s actuually not your typical and cliché Miss of the certain household. By far, this has one of the most realistic portrayal of internal and external affairs between households as well as imperial affairs. You’ll... more>> understand that if you’ve read as far as me. The best thing about this is our ML is really not the typical perfect man and though crippled as he is, he’s still a capable man. Our MC on the other hand, she is also not the typical drop-dead gorgeous or to die for beauty but a rathher capable woman who can lead a battlefield. Well, I’m saying she’s quite something so might as well give this a go right? So might as well reconsider if you still think like others says that this could possibly be your typical eh.

The only complaint I have for this is as exciting the problem goes, it kinds dies down as soon. So far, that doesn’t leave a bad taste though since I know there’s still a much bigger problem ahead from now. So eh. <<less

Truly truly amazing! The plot is quite similar to shen Yi Di nu and absolutely loving the MCs ?? ML and FL are lovable and amazing! Can't wait for more chapters!

Ah~ really enjoyable reading, from MC character, she was smart and brave, not some kind reckless character, that would only be burden for everyone in the end. She know how to use her brain to think about pro's and cons. ML, I don't know how to write it. At early chapter we had gentlemen, patient, and cold headed ML. But because one event now we have black bellied, vinegar jar ML, the change its really like heaven and hell. Although along the story the author explain why the change could... more>> be so big.

I like xu qingchen and mo xiaobao too.

I guess it's too early for me to rate it. It started very strong. I have a very good first impression on the female lead Ye Li. I like her back story -- a soldier who died for her country without regrets and in her second life only wants to live in peace. But there are some factors in the story that are taking points out of my originally high points for this novel.

First & foremost, the timeline is a bit inconsistent in a way that it's either confusing or... more>> unrealistic. At the start, it said that Ye Li & Ye Ying's wedding is half a month apart, then later it's 2 months apart, then later in that 2 months, so many things happened to the point that Ye Li didn't even have a break before another event happened. It felt like more than 2 months has passed but as someone has previously said, it's like time stopped in the novel. Maybe, it's mistake on author or translation. Anyway, it's confusing.

At around c50 when the uncle lectures Ye Li, she felt out of character like the author downgraded her so that her uncle can give her the lecture, she is usually depicted smart but for the sake of that scene, she is intentionally made a little clueless so author could explain the political situation.

There's a subtle hint of reverse harem which I'm not so fond of (harem/or reverse), she has the Prince Ding, then there's Prince Li, her 5 male cousins, the 2 brothers who kidnapped her in different occasions, and recently the prince from another country.

Also there are too many characters introduced that some are later neglected before they even made a relevance in the story. For example her 2 mamas-don't know what happened to them. Also the arrogant servant she hired at the early chapters (what's the point of introducing them? they didn't make any significance so far...)

So many unresolved characters. Ye Li is not even married to the Prince yet, all of a sudden, we are already moving to the big picture like the royal family, foreign nationals, & CIA-like organizations, etc.

Anyway, that's why I said it's too early to rate. Maybe some characters will have a conclusion later. I just hope this won't turn into some action packed thing (wuxia/xuanhuan) given that the FL is a soldier in her past life and now she is surrounded by people well versed in martial arts. She also recently obtained a sword. Otherwise, I might really have to drop it.

Translation wise, the first 2 translators are good though a bit hard to read due to the extensive notes in between. But they are higher quality than the current one (as of c50) in terms of grammar. No offense, I like and support FL even in FB page I'm a folower. Maybe it's just that I got used to the first two where the flow of words smoother IMO. But lately, translation is getting better. I can honestly state this story is amazing, however this is only the case if you enjoy a slice of life type. The male leader is quiet unique because he is not handsome, disabled with scar on the face, but he is very considerate and manliness. This type is rarely seen in online novels.

The writing is good and reasonable. Best black belly story of all top rated transmigration stories. The MC is rational and don't create unnecessary trouble. The pacing is perfect and knows when to offer and delay tension in the story, a rare quality in web novels. There is, surprisingly, a literary awareness.

I recommend this novel highly

First of all, Many thanks to the author for writing this story and the translators (Guqin Translations, Snow Translations and Flying lines) for translating this story. I love the characters of the MC and ML as it shows them as people and knows that the story can exist or work without their involvement.

The ML is a breath of fresh air as he avoids the common pitfalls of other similar novels (overbearing, stalking, s*xual assault, trespassing into the compound of the MC). He is currently the only... more>> disabled character that stays disabled and has accommodated his training to suit his needs. He also respectful, helpful and reserved (not cold hearted) This is shown by a respectful first meeting at a restaurant and the two characters just sit and talk; which means as lot. They both form a believable friendship bond (which I love!!) as they both know that they are not in love with the other, are equally in a bad situation and both strive to work together.

MC is good as well as she wants a quiet life and not excessively involved in schemes especially when the first arc is the most cliche opening arc (sister stealing fiance) and she does not care and the story does the rare thing where other people complicate the opening arc without MC or ML's involvement and it is so hilarious to see. Seriously read to find out it's priceless especially if you read similar novels with these opening arc.

This was a lovely break from the norm that I greatly appreciated. Thank you again <<less

That 3 star is for Ye Li. She is an amazing MC. No complaints. Just that the story telling is mediocre I guess. Messy so far, I don't know if things will improve since this novel is quite humongous. I'm still going to read this, because I'm cheering on the MC.

A lot of happenings in these early chapters are unnecessary. And side characters that are down right ret*rded and not an ounce like imperial family at all. Very different with a lot of ancient china novel I have read.

I don't... more>> have much hope for the story overall. But I love the MC. I'll keep reading for her sake, who knows, maybe there will be pleasant surprises. <<less

I give up reading mostly due to the pace of the story, and it's boring.

MC is a reborn (modern?) military person, so her golden hand is basically her old skill and knowledge. She wanted quiet life so she's indifferent to her surrounding. Really not much face slapping.

I like it at first, because I like a strong character. But later she fail to deliver. She wasn't much OP in novel standard at the beginning, but then she excels in everything that matter. She still got into trouble, but she remains calm... more>> everytime and surely, the trouble (somehow) resolves easily. No tension at all.

Romance is nonexistent so far. Yes, there is some moment, but the character supposedly "very busy" so it was buried with more serious matter.

The story should have been more serious indeed, with politics, war, fight for the throne, and with MC military background, she is just like fish in the pond.

I dislike, however, that she has to prove she is the "main character" by doing things separated from ML. IMO if they did it together it would be so much easier and faster to solve. I just don't understand why. Also.. Many male characters are interested in MC. As I hate any kind of harem, I'd rather drop it. <<less

It was a great start. Really excellent. And then "sword flying" (c) began, with fiery lotus seeds, incomparable martial arts, internal energy and other nonsense. And it became... terribly boring. Realism is over, wuxia has begun. Or xianxia, ​​I don't remember which is which. This is no longer interesting to me.
It could be a really entertaining chamber story. But instead, apparently, there will be a spy fantasy thriller in the entourage of "ancient China", seasoned with romance. The taste and color, I personally do not like it.

Well, I loved this book at the beginning and had so much hope but the pacing is very slow. The narration flows smoothly but I did not have patience and stopped. Maybe it is because this one had so much war content which is one topic I'm wary of reading.

The MC is a smart woman but there were so many incidents I wished she was more ruthless. Why show mercy to the enemies?

The ML seemed okay. He was a guy with a strong backbone who trusts his wife and let... more>> her do everything she wants just because he loves her.

I am so grateful this novel was picked and is being translated. I am enjoying the pace of the novel. Two people who are in an arrange marriage, a woman clueless about love and a man that is crippled ans very guarded. ML is Mo Xiu Yao was described as man who wasn't kind since the age of 3 and his heart turned dark since his accident is an accurate description. I am looking forward to watching these two fall in love and their character development.
