There is some really good and some bad. I like the way he acts, mercilessly, without remorse, not hesitating to do anything in order to achieve his goals.

What I don't like is that the MC is described as a loner with charisma and cold bloodedness but sometimes he can really act out of character by being childish. Maybe the author did it as a way to lighten up the mood but it was in my opinion, quite the clumsy way. Also, I don't like the fact that sometimes the author... more>> seems to want to ere*t him as a defender of justice, siding him with the good and sometimes he portrays him as pure evil. It seems like he is schizophrenic, when he blames his ennemis for doing something one time and do exactly what he reproached the other time. I don't like this hypocrisis.

The story isn't really original, a tower, tests, when you succeed, you go to the next level.

The romance takes little to no place so it does not bother. <<less

I read this due to high reviews and due to the revenge plot line, which is something that I’ve always liked.

However, I totally regret the time I spent on reading this novel. Not only is the MC kinda dumb and behaves like a absolute piece of evil shit, the author keeps hand waving his evil actions and mentality as justified (due to revenge) and even keeps trying to make out the MC to be morally higher than the other Tower players, when he is definitely not so. Everyone in this... more>> novel that’s from the Tower is definitely not a good person, due to how the world is, and MC is as terrible as any evil, corrupt organisation in there.

The worst thing is that in other for the s*upid MC to succeed, there are many times when the enemies are suddenly conveniently dumbed down either in intelligence or luck, when confronting the MC, so that he could win against them, when normally it’d be mission impossible if you thought about it objectively, because if someone as s*upid as MC could in against his enemies so easily, then said enemies should have died a thousand times earlier at he schemes and machinations of others before he even appeared already.

As a reader, it’s frustrating to read such s*upid plot lines that don’t even make sense. The occasional humour the author tries to insert in falls flat most of the time as well. There are tons of better novels out there, don’t waste your time on this one like I did. <<less

Honestly, so far, one of the best KR novels with tower theme that I have read. I started with reading the manga and then continue with the novel. This novel reminded me of my other favorite novels like ToG, Tutorial is too hard, Second coming of gluttony, solo leveling, and especially Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. The MC is meant to be OP and he is. He was compelled into climbing a tower to revenge his brother and along the way he gained OP skills, OP items, etc. To the point that... more>> it seems kind of overkill and unreasonable. But as things went on, the plot gradually unraveled and hints that were dropped here and there eventually made sense. And that’s why I think this story remind me of ORV because of how the plot crept up on you in unexpected ways and things you thought that were mere plot holes are actually hints that mean something special, and layers of plot points instead. Those include questions like why is his brother so OP? And yet why did he died? Why is our MC so OP being just a normal KR? Wth are with all those OP items/skills that MC easily got that no other got (diary, Black King sets, dragon skills etc.) ? All those questions will gradually got answered and different questions will pop up. The scale of the story is actually much bigger than what I expected at first. I think the writing is great and it gets better and it goes. There were always things happening around MC to keep things interesting enough and more interesting things always happen. As soon as I thought ‘this is already too much, how much crazier will things/the MC possibly get?’, the author surprised me more. I like the curved balls that was thrown at me. And I also like how the author was not scared of breaking readers’ heart in a way that progress the story greatly (those moments that made me cried like baby and made me hate and love the author at the same time). So to all the readers complaining about all those ‘plot holes’ in the stories and the ‘ridiculous power system’, I say ‘be patient’. This is not one of those short stories that serve everything to your mouth all at once and has every explanation available immediately. And I myself got frustrated at some point too but it only makes the unraveling all the sweeter. We will learn things along with the MC.

But most of all I love how the author gradually develop not only the MC but also the people surrounding him. Many characters that seemingly appear briefly in one chapter from tutorial round became relevant once more in much later chapters, with hidden background, purposes, and layers of surprising links to our MC/MC background. Those characters also changed along with our MC. Our MC changed from a dry, emotionless, cold blooded, and cautious machine that only care about revenge to a more sly, deceptive, impulsive, temperament, emotional, and surprisingly full of warmth ‘roof’ for ‘his family’. We see that quite clearly through his interactions with other, sometimes the same person from earlier chapters compared to later chapters. MC also made mistakes, was careless, paid heavy price for his mistakes, ran away, took time to grief, and turned that grief to strength. But the great thing so far is that he is always focus, he may change plan as needed but still always focus on the goal. So far after >600 chapters he only has 2 lovers (?) mentioned, one dead long before he entered the tower and the other one only became one after several hundreds of chapters and there is still barely any romance or distractions. Rather, he came to the tower thinking of a long lone fight but he then developed many surprising different relationships with others.

Anw, the point is our MC is OP, gets OP skills and items because of his special root and because there were people that sacrificed themselves to pave the way for him. He needs to be OP and will get even more broken OP because that is the only way for him to complete his purpose, and fight against hidden OP forces. I d say that if you are interested in a story with layers of interesting plots, an OP character without harem, plenty of schemes and lots of fighting, then you are in for a long joy ride here with this story. <<less

Ok novel, not bad but has many small plot amors (not to the point of being unlogical but still it's just too convenient for mc). To me the down grade of this novel is how detail jeong-woo's diary is (could have been better if it's more like a real diary, more vague)

meh.. Wtf is this..

I don't like the fact that the MC always gets overshadowed by his brother's omnipotence'ness, luck n feat and everytime the MC did a feat he always get compared to his brother's like he is his replacement or whatever, but by the end of the day he died in a lame way that it's quite irritating that he's always compared to him.

This is really good, but a bit dark. The MC is a cold blooded and greedy person (he's a dragon tho). Lot of dark scene. What I like about this novel is the MC is very powerful, and how unique the story goes, complicated but won't makes you frustrated and bored! What I feel is excitement when I read every chapter.

Honestly, I've been enjoying the manwha of this, but after reading like 7 chapters, I'm just not particularly invested in any of the conflicts. I'd say, either read something like sss-su*cide or read the manwha if you're looking for something that actively engages you. But if you're fine with some logical inconsistencies and lack of world building, go ahead and read this novel.

Personal opinion

This manhwa is getting a lot of negativity lately, but in my opinion that's not deserved at all.

Sure, it does copy famous manhwa like Solo leveling and Tower of God with certain parts, but that doesn't make it bad, I see at as an improved version.

And it has a lot of original parts too.

Conclusion: Don't listen to all the hate comments, read it yourself and judge after you've read a part, for yourself whether you like it or not.

I personally still love every chapter.

The start is good, I thought it had potential.

Then all hell went loose, and turned this from good, to bad, to worse.

There's quite the number of plot holes too, with the fact that people can go back to the tutorial, and the fact that even after the amount of people in the game, with the fact that tutorials are open for anyone, no one is selling the information of the tutorial, not once.

I would give it a 2 but because it became a story about MC getting op with the... more>> help of knowledge and magic, 1 it is. <<less

A typical korean dungeon crawler novel. Adequate enough as time fillers, but don't expect dungeon defense level writing/world building/character developments.

Honestly I dropped this cuz the whole Qi? Sword out of Body? What? Stuff is making me dizzy but would pick it up again later.

5 stars because that problem is not the novel's problem (since its actually tagged martial arts).

The plot is well written and immersive. The MC is actually smart, calm, cautious, practical and rational (big plus for me). No harem to detract from the main plot (another big plus for me). Side characters are quite well developed overall

Spoiler

Though honestly we don't really have side characters that stayed for long except the Black Smith since the MC is mostly solo. MC's minions like the Lich and the Swordsman mostly get power ups rather than character development although they do interact with MC

I'd rate it not worth sacrificing my sleep over it but still a good read overall. <<less

Amazing novel. I came from the manhwa and decided to continue in the novel.

This is an amazing novel. The character developments and the feeling of constantly on edge is consistent all throughout. It was riddled with mysteries that you won't be able to ignore and they still continue to unfold until this very 300++ chapter.

There were a lot of times where sometimes I would just throw my device from disbelief and excitement. Just when you thought that there can be no such thing greater than that moment, this novel proves... more>> it wrong. Every moment was necessary and undoubtedly amazing. This novel is the perfect mix of a good shounen, cultivation and adventure genre. A MUST READ.

This has got to be one of my most favorite novels. Thank you for translating them and to the author, thank you for making such a masterpiece <<less

I ReallY liked this one. The beginning was awesome and he had enough power to be OP but not strong enough to kill people from higher levels of the tower. There were two reasons I gave this up. First, it had too many chapters. Sure some novels are good especially because they are so long and manage to excite the whole way through, but this one didn't excite me enough. Second reason, as I said, it became boring. It wasn't so exciting anymore, sure I could read this just to... more>> see all his proficencies rise to 100% but I won't. <<less

Well this novel is I don't know, Its good but became generic from korean MC genre. MC is introduced to be a cold-blooded person from war then he see his brother watch's and go get revenge for that s*upid brother of his.

I liked it in early chapter, he was a loner, a cold-blooded person.

But after 50 chapters he get alot of attention and MC become from a cold blooded person to average at best MC.

Atleast he still kill but now he became imbeciles, he said he won't trust any person... more>> until he get his revenge but 100 chapter later he accepted to became a greenhorn or a apprentice.

And copy that martial king horn dog on floor 11 aura. If he developed his death aura then his enery or charka field will became the most deadliest aura that sucks life in existence.

And now his life is stuck to save those imbeciles horn people when they get betray by their on s*upidity.

For a death attribute wielder his cold-blooded trait instantly go hinder him and not make him more cold and distant person.

Rank of Elements for me.

Rank 1 Emptiness

Rank 2 Chaos

Rank 3 Death

Rank 4 Space/Void/Gravity

Rank 5 Lightning

Rank 6 Light

Rank 7 Fire then lower grade elements is Wood, Water, Metal, Earth, Poisin, etc, Air is the most deadliest Element for mortal but when you ascend the limit of mortality you can go 2 days of not eating and breathing, or you until ascend the upper limit of inner body's durability and make your body stock more, and produce more air inside of your lungs while your blood pumps faster for 10 times to extend your life and strengthen your body.

Well this imagination elements rank is when I was dreaming that I'm a holder of the universe corporation and the earth planet we know it just one of many experimental planet that exists for the corporation's entertainment for daily show, the U.F.O. That we see on sky by chance is only a camera that collect data to send and create it to be a show.

I want to turn it into a novel but, haha I don't know how to right it properly, the end of the rant and imaginative dream.

I will recommend it for good read but not for heavy plot, just for casual time read waster. PIECE OUT <<less

This novel is GREAT. The title was a bit misleading since you would assume it's another typical reincarnation novel, but NO. IT'S NOT. The story is based on a brother who's twin has been betrayed and killed ... more>>

while trying to get an elixir to heal their mother

[collapse]
. The MC is furious after experiencing his brothers memories and decides to avenge him. Although he is mad, he is calm and calculative so it's nice to see a MC who doesn't overestimated himself or uses his brain even though he is quite powerful. He may be a loner but there are signs of him making 'friends' (since he hasn't accepted as friends but they have a good relationship) that you might see as you read on. Remember that he joins the Tower AFTER his brother's death so this isn't reincarnation, it's him using the memories from past the as a stepping stone for his revenge and growth.

The translation is good, I haven't found any main issues and I doubt there are much grammar mistakes so I would rate that 4/5.

The plot is developing nicely, typical revenge plot where the MC levels up fast cause he's gotta catch up to the perpetrators that are responsible for what-so-ever. I would rate it 4/5 so far.

Character development is also commonly seen in 'rebirth' novels, the MC starts out strong and grows even strong due to

the inherence from his brother and his own strength.

[collapse]
(not really a spoiler but I'll put it there anyways), and hopefully he won't be overpowering even after he enters the Tower. I'll rate this 3.5/5.

World Background is slow, you probably need to give it some time, it's going nicely right now since the information is steadily flowing in but we still don't know much. This will be rated 3.5/5. <<less

I really love reading this novel!

The novel was full of action in every chapter and the pacing of the story was quite made well too. Add in the fact that the Mc's one of those type that uses his wits and brains rather than just bulldozing everything.

Recommending to those people who love action filled novels and the likes

Terrible, author doesn't describe anything, after reading over 100 chapters I still have no idea of how any character looks besides MC, and even then I only know how MC looks because the novel illustration, and that also goes for basically everything in this novel, you can't imagine how the fights go while reading because the author will just say that MC used an skill by saying the skill name but nothing is described, I think the author should write a turn-based rpg videogame instead of a novel

I've been slowly reading through the novel from the start to end over the past month. I'm going to go over my thoughts and opinion of the entire story so spoilers beware.

So the overall story can be broken into two parts. Part one where MC enters the tower, and part two where MC does non-tower related things.

The first half was brilliantly written. It is like an hybrid of solo leveling and tower of god. The MC's focus is very straightforward, and the story progresses slowly and them ramps up faster... more>> and faster like Solo Leveling. Yet that's only for the MC's actions, the author takes their time to world build, introduce details and characters, have chapters or parts of chapters be in other character's pov and flashbacks. And there's always chapters dedicated to exploring new knowledge or foreshadowing what the MC will do. Most of the floors the MC travels to is given great detail and long trials and unique challenges similar to Tower of God.

The second half on the otherhand felt extremely rushed. The author put in a good bait, in that the readers and the characters do not know MC's plan after the time skip. The issue is that the majority of the conflict revolves around key figures from part 1, yet also introduces characters outside the tower. These outside characters do not have any relevance to the story only to pad it and demonstrate how strong the MC became after the time skip. At the same time the key figures from part 1, never state their goal or how they planned to achieve it. And many of the key figures hinted in part 1, just never appeared in part 2. For example, the trinity wonder is 3 gods who opened the tower, and only 1 interacts directly in the story for the Bow God. The other is the patron god of the one-horn tribe but they never do anything or make an appearance, and the author did not state who the 3rd god of the trinity is. Or basically what happened to the Arthia clan members during the time skip, which none of which was ever mentioned into the last 10 or so chapters and they played no relevance.

I can ramble on and on about this like what happens to the leaders of two groups that represent day, and what not. The point was after the tower, it was rushed. It was around 600-650 chapters about the tower, and then the remaining 150-200 about outside of it, I felt like the 2nd half needed atleast another 100-200 chapters to fill in the holes left and hinted by part 1 while also expanding the characterization. <<less

The first Korean novel that I have read. And that to, in the perspective of a guy. He had all the typical male lead characteristics; smart, handsome, cold-hearted. I liked it very much all because of the plotline. If we were to take out all these characters, and just immerse ourselves in the backgrounds and character visuals, it'll make for a very good game. And you might never expect this kind of twist towards the end of the story. I never expected that. And maybe some of you might do.... more>> Anyways, if you're into action, this might be just for you. Thank you to the auhor and translator for a wonderful read. <<less
