An interesting world and plot. A medieval setting world without magic which is a plus for me.

This novel definitely has the vibe of a lazy person solving problems in the easiest way possible. The MC is lazy and selfish but he has the smarts and situational awareness to actually get out of sticky situations.

MC clearly knows that the situation of the country is poor so he plans on selling it off so he can enjoy life but it's hilarious how his plans end up failing as he's so good that... more>> he actually fails to sell off the country. As for the relationship between the MC and the main heroine, they definitely have a great understanding of each other and trust each other with their lives. The romantic element is not strong but you can both feel their bond.

I'm not quite a fan of the humor but it's ok.

Also some of the side characters are really interesting as well. I think the plot is interesting enough for me to keep reading as we find out more of who Wayne actually is. The later volumes vol 5, 6 are quite solid in my opinion. The only problem I have is with the writing style. It feels super boring sometimes. MC also feels like a Gary Sue sometimes. I do enjoy the political aspects of this novel. I've also read the manga and it certainly transitions some moments better.

Overall I'd say it's 2.7/5 (not yet 3 stars but close) . If the author could improve some awkward moments it'd definitely be better. <<less

ok so this is the first time im writing one of these so excuse me for the my bad grammar.

So this story is quite fascinating as unlike most japanese novels, its a non isekai low fantasy without magic. What makes it special is its focus on politics and strategy. The MC is a briliant genius that can outsmart prety much everyone. Honest he is quite fun to follow. The romance in this story is present, just that its not really the focus. I will stop there as quite honestly the... more>> rest of what I have to say isnt really important.

So if you are asking yourself should I read this then it depends on if you like politics and strategy. This series isnt for those looking for action or romance, though id still say that its worth a try.

The only other info that you need to know is that the translations are relesed in a weird way. Every month to 2 months there will be a bunch of chapters relesed over the span of a couple of days to even weeks and then stor for over a month before another batch of chapters gets relesed. Also the translations while not the best, are good enough and readable. <<less

This story is pretty good for the most part, the plot is pretty fun to follow along with and there are lots of twists and turns. The protagonist is likable at first and I like his relationship with Ninym. Some of the side characters are insufferable, though. Like, in one of the later novels, one of the protagonist's friends thinks he's being too successful so she hatches a plot to undermine his nation and set up a future succession crisis. Somehow she is still treated by the story as being... more>> a good person and never faces any consequences for her actions, not even losing the friends she betrayed. Somehow the protagonist is willing to forgive actions that might result in unnecessary civilian deaths and potentially even a civil war in his country. He and the other characters treat politics like a game and don't seem to care very much about their subjects. It's like Code Geass if Lelouch never felt any guilt for the many deaths on his hands. It's okay to have a character do bad things and acknowledge it. Maybe they're a villain protagonist, or maybe they're acting for the greater good or something. But this story's emphasis on politics and tactics, while making for an entertaining plot, has the characters act basically like plot mechanics at the cost of character development and making the characters feel inhuman. It's hard to root for characters who are willing to kill their own friends, and this story features many instances of characters fighting on different sides of various wars with their friends and not even seeming to be emotionally affected by it at all. <<less

The story and the plot is interesting, especially the characters which makes me want to wonder what they plan to do next and how will they do this and that, I am also intrigued with the world itself and the politics which makes want to think future scenarios and the reaction of foreign leaders to the actions the characters make even if most of them were misunderstanding, also I amazed by the creative and smart schemes the characters or author made. Though it would be better if their was more... more>> character development or a way to understand each character more also it would be nice to have more understanding and interaction in the world also it would be nice to see more different opinions from foreign nations, officials and people on the main character. However it still 5 star cuz it was able to peak my interest and made me want more. Also when is the next chapters. <<less

The story is alright and the misunderstandings are fun as well, but the story is a bit slow and the grammar of the translator's website is kinda iffy. Could be better.

I'm sold. The author did not disappoint in providing the scenes regarding economics, politics and comedy. It is actually insightful especially if you are not really familiar with schemes and bluffing.

As usual the protagonist's side is overpowered with wisdom, talent and luck but with things that doesn't seem to go on Wayne's way? It is highly amusing. Wayne's a morally ambiguos Mary Sue which is not really bad because he has certain beliefs he won't let go of even while being forced to submit. In the earliest chapters he seemed... more>> to be the most perfect guy (except in "good" morals) but from the last two volumes, there's a hinting of past character growth that made him the man he was today. I'm really looking forward to it since they kept of saying he was really different (i.e. The younger sister almost slipping up during the visit on the Empire and Wayne's own reminiscing in the recent arc regarding the marine country.)

I'm not really that into the harem trope since it actually just make all characters of the opposite gender fall in love for the MC. Despite that, I really approve of the visible changes and mental growth especially that of the younger sister's and the newly appointed marquess from the allied nation.

I'm all for competent characters but maaan, what's up with all the mocking about Wayne's looks? Sigh Ninim, if the MC truly acquired dense or low confidence on his appearance, you contributed a lot, as a trusted aide and precious childhood friend. <<less
