A refreshing story where you'll just want to mu*der the heroine in every arc so that you can replace her (if you're a girl). I'm jealous of the heroine because Wei Mingyang is just sooooooooooooooo dreammmmmmmmmyyyy! Author did a great job introducing what a real perfect man is to everyone, I swear, to fanatics of CEO love stories out there, you'll learn that not even the ML in Trial Marriage or any other shoujo novels can compare to the MC of this novel.

*coughs* Anyway, the good points in this story,... more>> aside from the very perfect MC are

Spoiler

-it's a world-hopping series, quick transmigration in other terms, but MC is male, not female or female at heart
-there are more or less 20 chapters in an arc, so it's really a series of quick transmigrations
-MC knows how to act out his part, he never gets OOC, meaning you won't find him transmigrating into a writer's body who suddenly know how to play with guns
-His character is always a scum male and it's his job to turn those characters into prince charming which is really fun to read
-The system only appears every beginning and/or ending of an arc, and its job is only to ask him if he wants to take a break or go straight to the next mission world, that's it. It's rare for me because many authors of QT novels love to insert some host-system scenes as fillers in the chapters. But here, no. Sometimes you'll even forget that he also has a system. It's a plus for me because it gives me the impression that everything that happens in the arc is his hard work only
-No thighs to hug aside from his, lol

I mean, it's not bad.

It's just really, really impersonal. The story isn't written from the MC's point of view, you never hear his thoughts or motivations really. If anything, it's written from every other character other than the MC's view. And given that you know the MC is 100% acting, so nothing you are seeing is real... just makes it weirdly clinical.

His acting is also too over the top for me. The other characters are just like "HE'S SO PERFECT!" and I'm like.. this man is mental. There's no subtley... more>> to his acting at all. If the prompt is "be sad" that apparently means a man who literally cries at the drop of a hat, any all times, for hours and tells every person he meets about his trauma (from literally 17 years ago) within a couple hours of meeting them. But somehow this man is also a super powerful self-made CEO of the top country. But also constantly crying, because, you know, in case you missed it, he's sad. <<less

This novel can best be described as supreme wish fulfillment and I must say, I was very fulfilled. This MC is the perfect PERFECT man. He is the perfection of Gary Stu. And I really don't dislike it. This is really odd for me, because I'm not usually a fan of wish fulfillments or Gary Stu-ness. If you're looking for something to ease your heart, make you feel warm and sweet inside, this is definitely one of those. I would recommend it more for females because the MC likes to... more>> pamper to the heavens and it is just amazing! <<less

Completed Reading this novel, I like it very much. This is very nice world hopping story. Its interesting and promising that hooked me up. One of my favorite novel. I like all plot all arcs. Every arcs are interesting, sweet, heartwarming, family, pamper. 1V1, Male Protagonist,

Only bad thing about this novel is MC transmigrated into scum man. I really want to beated up scum original host and make his life hell. It would be much better if MC didn't transmigrated into scum man and he revenge on scum man.

recommended... more>> if you like male protagonist world hopping novel, MC being loyal and pamper on female lead much. <<less

This is a feel good novel I think. MC transmigrate into scum males body that is set to abuse the FL and whitewashed them into the Mr. Perfect to each FL in each world.

It's refreshing because this ML is a break from all the overbearing, violent, rapist ML out there. He's really gentle to every FL, knows to spell the word "consent" ... more>>
Spoiler

though in one of the arc he transmigrated right after the original body r*ped the FL so he spent time to get forgiveness from FL. I also liked the arc because the FL didn't suddenly fell in love with MC after he transmigrate, rather there's a real span of space on how the FL process what's happening to her, her thoughts afterwards before she tried to accept the MC after he whitewashed himself

[collapse]

It's not really a 5 star kinda story but I think this story worth reading so I rated it higher. Give it a chance.

The arc structure is simple. ML comes, he finds the FL, start pampering the FL, bit*h slap every canon fodder wronging the FL, and lived happily ever after. While it does get repetitive, the arc itself isn't so boring. It doesn't follow the usual troupe in QT novels. Many of the arc happens in the modern world and only occasionally goes to the ancient world. The ML identity is always interesting and I think it is why the arc feels refreshing despite the repeat.

There's 2 type of mission, the usual mission where MC got together with FL or the holiday arc where ML has the identity of someone close to the FL but won't be her spouse. But the holiday worlds are horror themed for some reason. Quite scary too.

Also what got me thinking the most is that every world has different FL, which means MC got together with different women in its truest sense and he didn't really need a break. Every world MC lived with each FL until their death. I can't imagine how a person can just switch like that. It's terrifying how immersed in his role MC was in each world and when it ends he just switched to a new character. He's either a psychopathic scum deep inside or has an enormously strong control over his mind and emotion.

Edit: Turns out, he does have enormous control and the love of an elder to the people he took under his wings. The last couple chapters kinda answer questions but kind of not too. And I find the MC a little pitiful by the end. <<less

What a strange thing - the first thing that comes to mind is that the MC could be a bunch of different guys with the same name - he has strictly no character development

so a new « host » come to replace a bunch of guys - we're being told they would have been scum - very awful men, but most often the story starts before something drastic happens so the scummy thing to wash off is small enough - the. The host becomes a « great » guy -... more>> that stereotype will often be super rich, always hardworking, filial and unreservedly devoted to his (future) wife

the values deployed there are a bit awkward - the characters will be happy : so lots will envy them, they'll often be tycoons, and the girl will be avenged from past grief in extreme manners

there's often a bunch of horrible background or alternate horrible stuff on a thematic : child abuse or thieving, bullying, animal abuse, hardships of doctors or teachers - etc - sad backgrounds that paints horrible side of society

bad people are pure s*upid cannon fodder, there have no rhyme or reason, greed and jealousy is their drive - they are often poor (does it makes people dishonest ?)) -they brings no color to the tale, they just add evil (could seriously live without if there really was a story or something to solve)

i don't like the all powerful money part - I'm not sure of what to think of the « perfect » relationship that is described either : women become dependent, because they are « treasures » or « princesses « part of it seems cute and fluffy, but overall it makes me feel uncomfortable : are they made of glass or something ?, they don't seem like people, but weak and pretty things that will bat their beautiful eyelashes fanning at the beautiful MC... none seems le a person

in fact neither does the MC

the ideal life archetype is too strong too : rich, good work (powerful enough to do as they please - dominating), one child, glued together even when buried - a recipe with slight variations, but it's mostly « have » not « be » - possession not self realisation or personal growth (personal needs to be emphasized, yet the characters gets diploma and a carrier, but even the artist doctor stays a doctor and never fulfilled her deepest aspirations to be a painter)

i don't really get any world hopping feel and that's quite disappointing

so good part is that these relationships are consensual without extra « violence « And obviously many will like the « sweet » but to me it's very unnatural sweeteners and I can never really get involved - kept scrolling for the (bad) social problems that each story seems to base itself upon at each episode

i'd say the withewashing might have been a little bit fun but it only works one or two chapters where there's an obvious « re write » of what happened before the host came in - it's manipulative yet witty, but that seldom happens

thanks for the translation ! <<less

Y'all are out here thinking the ML is amazing and you want him but lol he's just an amazing actor/con man. ... more>>
Spoiler

he literally knows the plot and still follows along IN CHARACTER and fulfills his missions dutifully and manages to "fall in love" with each character for a whole lifetime EACH. Dude he is in it DEEEP.

[collapse]
I mean don't get me wrong, he obviously protrays an amazing man.

Also probably not true theory but! ?:
Spoiler

every story arc so far after he has made their lives better, ALWAYS say "it's like a dream"... So what if, ok crazy theory that is probably not true, but what if they have already all died like they were supposed to and right now they are just in a dream state in their death where the ML is just hired by the "system" like a dream grim reaper to give them their last good dreams before they move on so they can move on in peace even if it's fake.

[collapse]
haha I mean. That would be some deep shit.

It's only 3 stars despite being overall enjoyable so far because it does get dry for me. It think it goes to the fact that it is like
Spoiler

a job for him so I don't ever really feel like he the ML ever falls in love with anyone... It never truly feels real.

But I really love this idea of changing scum man.

I kinda want more of these stories but just focused on one like those full in "changed villainess" stories but instead a "changed scum" full story. I think this obviously shows that there is a good market for that. <<less

The value in this story made me uncomfortable, all the QT in this novel is about being from tr*sh, scumbag to a perfect husband with money, fame, handsome, <great> guy which the fML can rely onto. All the fML in this novel is like frail, weak and just like very 'dependant' to male, which is im very sad, there's no creativity involved at all, and it seems like this novel is going to be infinite style with this repetitive story.

Honestly it can be better if the story sometimes written with more creativity.

Im just hoping that the story have more variation in it, rather than just loving cool dude.

I need fML that is strong and awesome ;)

I was looking for something light and unusual to read, and stumbled upon this one mainly because of the oddball title.

  • Premise:
The protagonist is a... person? Spirit? Let's go with "entity". His job seems to be about traveling through time and space and possessing the bodies of the titular "scum males". Upon doing so, he gets an outline of the life of the arc's central female lead, and how things would turn out without his intervention, after which he sets out to avert this sad future and make the girl happy... more>> instead, and once it's accomplished, he moves on to a new body.

    • Setting:
Each arc has its own setting and time period. The first three arcs all take place in modern China, but based on the tags, this would change in later arcs. Other than that, there is not much else to say.

    • Characters:
Once again, each arc has its own characters. The protagonist entity, Wei Mingyan, doesn't have much of a character beyond taking on the original character of the body he inhabits, and then turning them around on a dime. Because we only see a couple of short paragraphs from his POV in every arc, his character remains very undefined, with only hints of a detached and professional attitude showing when he is not in the role of the person he is impersonating.

Because of this, most of the story is carried by the side characters and their reactions to the protagonist playing the role of the best, most doting, most perfect boss/father/husband/boyfriend/etc, and most of them, including the women she is "saving" from their original endings, are fairly one-note. Worse yet, the antagonists are all unrepentant a**holes who start out bad, and only get worse, always acting on jealousy and malice and never backing down. In other words, they exist just for the sake of the tired old face-slapping routine.

    • Plot:
The individual setups are different, but the actual plot is more or less the same in every arc: the young woman at the center of the arc is being mentally and/or physically abused by a man and others, MC comes in, rapidly changes the personality of the person he is inhabiting, and then they reach a happy ending, with a couple of speed-bumps on the way, depending on the scenario.

This more often than not also involves the MC becoming insanely rich and successful and pulling the female lead with him into a high-class lifestyle. The methods of him achieving this are more often than not left incredibly vague and implausible, such as taking an orphan village troublemaker with zero money and connections, and making him into a millionaire owning a bike factory and an entire shopping mall in the span of a month or two.

At the end of the day though, the plot mainly exists as a vehicle to give a lot of feel-good scenes to the reader, and even though it is obviously that a lot of the heartwarming events come to be as a result of the MC's cold calculation, deception, and method acting skills, I would lie if I said I didn't get just a teensy bit misty-eyed every once in a while while reading them. That is the highest praise I can give to the writing skills of the author; the emotional manipulation works, even when you are fully aware of the fact that you are being manipulated.

    • Final Verdict:
The premise is fairly unique, the short arc format lends itself to reading in small chunks, and it works really well as literary comfort food. On the other hand, the characters are two-dimensional at best, with the antagonist being even more one-note than the rest, the MC is an undefined entity with a lot of agency but no discernible character, and the face-slapping scenes often come off as forced and especially unrealistic.

Overall, at the moment I would rate this story a solid 3.4. That makes it well above average, yet it is just too flawed and formulaic for me to give it a higher rating. That said, if you are looking for some heartwarming light reading that doesn't require too much effort to read, I would still easily recommend this novel. However, if you want something meatier, with actual nuanced characters, plots, or character development, you might also find this story wanting. <<less

I had high expectations for this due to reviews & recommendations.

Unfortunately, I agree with the 2 n 3star reviews.

  • Worst part is that It doesn't feel like a world hopping story. Our ML has no characteristic. Could be an AI performing a task to be standard good person + rich & doting.
  • Novel gets repetitive & boring. Arcs are basically:
*get backstory

*no thinking or personal feelings of ML, just start becoming a good person

*Get rich, Be doting to FL, one child, always together & buried together

Repetitive, unrealistic romance and many s*upid humans exist everywhere he goes. Somehow his mindset doesn't change after many lifetimes and still keeps going on as if nothing happened.
Spoiler

The 2 supernatural (not including the zombie one) worlds he went to made exactly 0 sense and it's was as if he's going around doing things on a whim for no reason and were too messy to read.

Good read, on the basis of these premise/genre.

Basically ML transmigrated into the body/life of another man who's a scum or about to be a major scum, and changed it so that the Female lead has the happy ending.

As such, this type of novel has many episodes and only few episodes gets the whole deep touchdown till the end in the story, and others... are just, after the ML achieved gets the girl, then it'll just summarize everything of the end. But that's alright, cuz this is a light read.

It's unique but not that enjoyable. There is no challenge the MC faces or just about anything. The MC also becomes a whole different person every time he trabsmigrate. That could be immersion / "gteat acting" but since there's no other conversation out side of the context of that world, it just became a collection of stories, with no connection (other than a person being white-washed) at all for me.

There's a solid reason no other novel is like this—it's boring.

My initial reaction to this was a 3. Now it's a... more>> 2/5. <<less

If you like Male MCs pampering Female Leads to the heavens then this is for you. If you like novels that center on giving a female character the best life, envied by others and deeply loved by her male counterpart then this is also for you. Because that's all this novel has. This Novel is most definitely for females only.

I like this novel but it's too repetitive, bland and a bit dull. All the missions require the MC to protect, pamper and love a female character. Even the side characters... more>> connected to the female leads are all females; daughter, niece, grandmother. There's not a single favorable male supporting character connected to the MC in any of his missions. There's no let the son live well and proper, no be filial to a father, no save a brother-in-arms, no protect a bullied male student. Nada, Zilch, Zero.

It's as if you're only qualified to be a scum if you hurt a female not a male. It would have been nicer if the story had a more unique arcs. Because every arc has the same solution, same ending, same sob story just set in a different way.

Like that one arc about him being a second generation
Spoiler

I thought the arc would go in the direction where he had to be filial to his father because the OG was an ungrateful son who has mommy issues. But no, his mission was to protect an innocent village girl that he accidentally caused to suffer because he was being such a brat. Again, pamper a girl.

just... well... I guess it made my heart prepared so every time I see the MC interacting or crying of his 'tragic regrets' one thought will bass my mind: is he acting? is he not acting?

and then I somehow cornered myself into an existential crisis... FOR A CN NOVEL MC: meaning I kept thinking about what part of him is real or not and getting confused so, in the end,

do I recommend even though I only read this far? yes, yes I do I read only this far so you might as well give it a chance the story is pretty interesting the premise is quite satisfying for the scum ML trope haters (me too) and I honestly think if it wasn't for that summary and my raging curiosity search through the reviews here I would've enjoyed this first arc for what it is, in short, I ruined it for myself don't be me.

and will I continue my iron well while reading this? yes I probably will... maybe..... meh who knows let's just hope I forget the summary and reviews soon to face those onions for what they are cuz now I feel like a boss who won't cry from a single onion cutting ninja in this novel

and the 4 stars u say? hey, the fifth one is special only when I cry will I add it k? ( ̄^ ̄) the story is amazing so I'm hooked let's hope you are too ( ̄^ ̄) ゞ <<less

It's a good story but just like the other reviews here, no one knows the MC's thoughts. I dont know if he's acting whenever he shows his pitiful/kind/heroic expression. Nevertheless, I like Wei Mingyan. He's a dream husband for everyone.

P.S I imagine him smirking when no one is watching.

The story is never told from the MC's POV and I sob at least once every arc. Since its told from the other characters it makes you feel that much sadder when something bad happens. The problem with it though us that there's no creativity. It's boring. You can try to tell yourself it's good for one maybe two arcs but after that you kind of just give up.
