The humor makes me fall in love with both characters, and the characters themselves are extremely lovable. The personalty of the writing/characters is endlessly amusing and their relationship had me laughing as well as dying from all the sugar. I have reread this novel quite a few times; I absolutely recommend this.

Others have covered the pure genius of the cuteness and fluff, so I will comment on two different things here:

First, this is an antidote to sadness and stress. Perfect read for being locked down/shelter in place/etc.

Second, the translation is excellent, but infrequent. Prepare yourself. That said, it's not like there's cliff hangers or real questions about where the plot is going. You'll be able to pick it up again after pauses, the only sadness is in having to wait for more fluff.

This is honestly one of the cutest stories I've ever read. There is so much fluff that everytime I read this, I can't help but keep internally screaming. It's soooo cute! The interaction between the two characters are so cute and I love how they just seem to fit with each other so well.

This is so nuch fun if you just want to relax.

MC is quite earnes with his feelings and towards the people around him and himself. When he becomes downhearted because of all the negative feedback he is getting he looks for some dirt on the rival that he is being pitted against by the fans. Clicking on an odd comment he enters the universe of of MCxML. Instead of being horrified his ehart is lifted by the world view which is drawn out by the fans where everyone is good... more>> natured and loving. Not taking it too seriously because he is straight and knows there is nothing between him and the ML he takes it as a means to relax.

Such a refreshing approach!

I really appreciate the MC's easy going nature which doesn't come off as forced at all.

His love and care for the fans who support him.

His attitude towards fluff as a stress and mood reliever!

MC objective view of his own shortcomings and his honest respect for his rival's abilities.

The description of the ML in the syopsis as an in the closet gay is pretty accurate. Not sure about how self awaare he is about it or that he is in denial, but his reactions to MC are distinctly different and he acts much more like someone who is with the uh... preferred gender when he is with MC.

Had so many small laughs while reading this, so worth a try. <<less

SOOO funny HAHAHA it starts off a little awkwardly but gets pretty cute very quickly. Ohhhh man I love this hahaha.

This MC is so great. It's especially funny because you can tell even before he himself actually liked the ML he was rooting for and swooning over "them" as a fan on the ship.

I do have two grievances with this though. Unfortunately, the chemistry between the leads just didn't grab my attention because they got very close too suddenly and most of their interactions were paragraphs glossing over what they did and what they talked about rather than the actual dialogue. I don't like this type of writing very much, I prefer "show, don't tell"

For example, a lot of the time the author would get lazy and write, "We talked about X" instead of writing out the conversation.

It's not a novel with a big plot, or anguish, or script twists, but it has something, something that makes you feel good.
A love story based on a misunderstanding.
A talented actor surrounded by the comments of the fans who treat him as his son and those who ridicule him, accusing him of wanting to steal the resources of his adversary; however one day he finds another type of fan, the CP and not just any one, no, between him and his adversary.

The MC finds a place of peace among the fanfics where he and his adversary are the protagonists, knowing that everything is in the minds of his beloved fans.
Of course, one day he meets the ML in a shoot where they recorded together and between misunderstandings they begin to develop a relationship.

Only, this relationship may not be on the same page, nor place, nor galaxy for both protagonists. Each with his own idea and thoughts about what is happening they decide to get closer.

It is hilarious to see the situations from the point of view of the MC and then read what the ML writes in its diary about this same situation. As the protagonist is posing a romance or how this will affect his fans or as they will see it while, his "adversary" is dragged to the typical clichés of the BL following a completely different route.

I really had a lot of fun with this story, without OP characters or paragraphs describing the perfection of the protagonist. Just a romance story between a second-rate actor and a clueless actor.

THIS IS PURE COMEDY AND FLUFF I SWEAR HAHAHAHHAHAHA. Im only at chapter 6 and im wondering if the cp fans are delulu or they are geniuses because no way their cp actually thought of so many things before posting something 😭😭😭 btw our MC is so cute and pure but omg the second hand embarrassment he brings me is too much HAHHAAHA

Cute and funny read. MC, Wei Yanzi, is super funny. I normally don't enjoy first person dialogue but his thoughts are really entertaining. However, some of the references to Chinese culture are lost on me so I know that I didn't get to enjoy 100% of his awesomeness.

ML, Gu Yiliang, is also likable. He is sweet and caring and a lil quirky with his habit of journaling. The chapters containing his diary was sprinkled throughout the story. It added an extra unique flavor to the novel.

The good : seriously hilarious beginning, excellent translation making for nearly lyrical voicer over from the MC - it starts on fire

both characters are interesting, the first person perspective is nice (for a while)

the quiproquos of the relationship are hilarious : great potential !

the less good : the diary of the ML start nice, but from the second time it appears, it’s rather flat and boring, in a lesser manner the monologue of the MC also loose quite a bit of power as soon as they start to become more than friends

the bad : how would two normal straight guy end up this way ? I believe I would have enjoyed less talk about hetero vs homo, and at some point it too rushed to believe in anything - if it was really about two people so assertive of their orientation (insistence of the narrative) it should have been more difficult to chose

the play pretend becoming real is nothing new in theatric plays, the dad quiproquo is also brilliantl, but the overall excellent idea is mushed down by the urgent of making « cp » and bed them

i would have loved more about the work, to see some MC growth, more about pretending and a slower catch up with reality of feelings turning true -

in the end, it’s one of the most brilliant beginning I’ve read, the writing is witty and energetic, but the entire pace could have been better managed

i read some comments about the ending behind a bit disappointing, and I can’t be surprised about it, there’s too much hurry to bed these characters to let them breathe and become in a believable way - they could also have been more work on the ML, if he had found his voice, the story could have rebound from one character to the over, without overlapping so much

it could have been perfect, it’s still enjoyable, but again as many time, the lack of a proper editor is painfully sad, the tentation to please (smut fast) is also very damaging - how disappointing

I found the manhua version of this novel first, read it until the latest eng trans update, then proceed to novel updates before finishing with the MTL version. This hilarious rom-com is definitely an A+ for me!

Our MC is very pure and innocent, while his rival/love interest though very talented and amazing, is not exactly the brightest bulb in the box either! I love how the novel incorporates celebrity life, crazy fandom interaction, and all of the juicy fujo culture.

This is one of the few novels I rate cuz im quite picky (´∀`). Anyways, this story definitely belongs to top-tier novels. Im telling you, just go ahead and read this. You'll definitely fall inlove with the MC and ML.

It’s been awhile since I laugh so hard while reading/listening to a novel. I had my airpod on so I’m like a crazy girl, laughing alone in the kitchen while I was washing the dishes. So the reviews were right, don’t read this on public place.

I have a bad habit when I usually just skimmed whenever it gets boring or until I reached the part where the MCs established their relationship because I hate the s*upid misunderstanding.
BUT in this novel, every moment is gold. I enjoy their misunderstandings and I even found it the best part where I laugh so loud.

The translation is great. I tried to MTL from chapter 41, although it’s still funny, I can’t understand every sentence so I think I’m missing the punchlines. I’m gonna reread this when the translation is complete. THANK YOU TRANSLATOR, PLEASE DON’T DROP IT. 🙏

Comedy gold!! I don't recommend anyone reading this in public as it's too hilarious--I couldn't help bursting into loud cackles so many times.

A very well-written (and well-translated!!) romantic comedy, which uses the first person POV really really well, alternating between stream-of-consciousness internal monologue of the MC and the diary-writing of the ML.

Highly recommend; IMO, this novel should be on everyone's must-read list unless you dislike comedy.
