In all honesty, this story is barely 2 stars but I gave it 3 stars because of the translator's efforts.

The writing is barely passable (altho the translation is good!) and as the reviewer dona said, the author doesn't really make us connect with the characters, barely describes anything, and relies too heavily on tropes. Like the characters are basically the usual tropes - the cold and rich CEO ML, the previously dumb FL taken in by the white lotus's schemes, the fake best friend white lotus, etc etc etc. It's... more>> okay to rely on tropes but when there's nothing else to the characters, they just feel empty and flat. And the story as a whole is very hollow tbh, and I still don't get why ML even likes TNH - who is actually pretty dumb and still somewhat selfish even after rebirth lol. She could potentially grow and develop, but... seeing how she never stops to think about her actions nor are her selfish actions painted in a negative light, I wouldn't bet on it.

So why am I still reading this?

It's something to pass the time, tbh, and also I appreciated the fact that the ML doesn't, like,....r*pe her in the first few chapters, which is so disgusting and unforunately happens in almost every modern CNs with CEO MLs I've read. And even tho the CEO ML is cold and typical (and boring lol), he does love the MC - which I found weird, since she really has nothing to her lol.

Either way, I still wouldn't recommend this unless you're extremely bored like me. <<less

Hmm... It's not as bad as the other reviewer said, really. Yes, it's a basic reincarnation / second love chance. Yes, it's not exactly unique or fresh. It certainly can't be compared to popular ones like Transmigrator Meets Reincarnator or Perfect Secret Love. Heck, not even Beloved Empress or Rebirth of Film Emperor's Wife. But does that make it a bad story? No.

If you like the genre, I say give it a try. I did and certainly find it quite entertaining.

The three stars are for the awesome effort translation done. The story not so much. There are scenes that I hv read from other rebirth stories.

Its the first time I want to choke the female lead. Shouldn't she be more... I don't know... mature? I can understand if it once in awhile childishness. But out through the novel? It was fun when she outwitted her enemy though.

P.s: Just give it a try. It was probably not for me but it might something you will enjoy.

Unfortunately I´ll have to skip this one. I usually love "second chance" stories and this one ticks of all the plot tropes but the story is very, very rushed! And the writing quite horrendous, it´s an insult to be calling this a novel. The author seems to be very bad at conveying the emotional aspect and each scene jumps and wraps up so quickly, if you hadn´t read many reincarnation stories, you´d probably be very confused. Don´t bother.

It's a good novel about a second chance heroine, who was schemed by her best friend into hating her arranged marriage husband, who actually loved her but then got cold to her after she rejected him. The best friend then sent her to jail and poisoned her to get the man for herself. After being reborn, the heroine tries to fail her best friend's vicious schemes, while trying to regain her husband's love.

Pros:

ML isn't also an incarnated character who can't seem to forget what she has done to him in... more>> her previous life (as of chapter 7 and I hope it stays that way)

Cons:

Not much at the moment. <<less
