The Prodigy Sefiria’s Overpowering Program

Description

As someone who died because of overwork in some super black company, before I knew it, I already reincarnated as a baby named 『Sefiria』 in a world of sword and magic.

….. But, having been born in a poor village with no ability, God…. what are you trying to do?

As someone who’s forsaken by heaven, I’ve found some hope ——- that is the shocking truth about 「Magic Formula」 and 「Programming language」 resembling each other .

This is it, my story about crawling up from the depth of the abyss of 『Absolutely don’t want to work』

Note: The protagonist is born as a boy in WN version and a girl in the LN version.

Lol I think this story might be decent

but because I AM a programmer myself (Data scientist with healthcare and econ specialty)... the way its done is a complete turn off

I guess that’s how I felt when reading medical mangas lol.. but my understanding of the science and infrastructure and actual procedures was seriously hindering enjoying it lol... it was simply too much into detail which completely misrepresented reality... because those mangas... and also this novel will surely... go into minute details as a plot mechanic... but those details will be... more>> completely off... those stories tht keep it a bit general might not receive such feelings lol

sigh

still ok tho <<less

The setting itself haven’t really been ironed out that much but the characters are kinda sloppy for most part. We are 20 chapters in and he hasn’t aged a year yet but the author thinks that he should talk... cause plot. Seriously why not a time skip of 3 years, that way it is a bit tolerable.

Apart from that it seems okay, just hope we don’t need a hundred chapter for him to age three years old.

There is but one thing that kills this story. Translator comments.

I can understand if... more>> it is somehow important, I can tolerate if it helps me understand the prose but no the translator keeps having these comments in between sentences and honestly its distracting, like reading the entire thing is hard enough. Please if you really need to put some comments here at least do everyone a favor and create a proper footnotes at the bottom of the page, else just erase it. It feels like there aren’t any editor for this story unless the one doing these incessant comments is the editor then make it stop.

If you can tolerate such translation then by all means but I would not recommend it because of that. <<less

I thought it might be interesting, but like other reviews have said, the whole baby thing is a little "odd" to say the least. I was originally interested in the programming mechanic, but as it turned out to be missing major parts of actual programming mechanics, and kinda tries to get away with shortcutting its way through its explanations by changing the text used to some weird symbols. Because of that, to me the programming portion lost its appeal.

When I compare it to some of the other novels I've read... more>> it just leaves me with a feeling of "meh...". <<less

This novel severely suffer from going to much into details. The system that was built has a lot of small details that never was meshed into one whole system.

MC... I kind of can't get attached to it. Prolonging baby stage for so long was probably the wrong way to create a genius image of imbecile. Maybe it will be better but currently its lack of cuteness, drama, comedy or serious plot make this novel too generic.

The story isn’t bad, but I guess it’s a bit lackluster? I just can’t seem to get into it, even though I’m a programmer myself. Well, I don’t think that I’ll have to worry much about a harem popping up, so that’s a plus.

EDIT: Changing my previous opinion to "extremely lackluster." Like mystichead said, fiction that includes elements you have specialized knowledge in is usually a huge turn-off. I'm trying to avoid a full-out rant, so I'll just stop at saying that the story is cliched so far and I... more>> have little respect for the computer details dropped thus far. <<less

As of chapter 28, the protag is both OP and a 10-month-old baby. I suspend a lot of disbelief when I read Japanese LN/WN, but this is just a step too far.

World Teacher also goes over the line in this respect, but not nearly as much. World Teacher is also better written by a hundred-fold.

Interesting story. But as this is my first review, it's kinda hard to convey my thoughts about this novel. So, just bear with me please. =) Anyway, I like the plot as most of it is interesting. MC at the start, hides his knowledge by behaving like what a child should be, while at the same time, tried hard to learn magic so the he can become a "prodigy", all the while charming all the villagers with his baby smile. =) But while it is interesting, I didn't like how... more>> the programming code was written, especially on the battle scene. I think it's ok that the author wrote the programming code when MC learns or test his magic, but it may annoy some people when the codes appears even at the combat scene. I am one of them, but then again, I can just skip reading those codes. =) All in all, I like the story. But as the translations stopped since 2 years and 7 months ago, it's kinda hard to write full review of this, especially since this is my first (review). Even so, I will wait for good translators to pickup and continue where it left off, so I could read this interesting story. =) <<less

I have read various novels where the MC is reborn and the story starts when he is still very young. Like with Rudeus Greyrat, the MC retains his ability to think even if only 3 months old.

He can’t read nor write in the new language and he is born in a poor village without cheat powers. However, like as Rudeus, he finds a book that contains spells: a grimoire. After some time, he understand somehow that spells have a syntax like those used in programs so he starts to learn... more>> how to use them.

The story has 18 chapters, and I think that is a bit slow. He is still 9 months old and nothing really happened.

The concept is nothing new, the characters introduced aren’t memorable and there isn’t a plot yet.

Since the length of the chapter is not much, I suggest to start reading the first 10-15 chapters to understand if you want to follow the novel. <<less

Just started reading and there’s no need to worry about translator comments now. Looks like they moved them all into footnotes. About the plot, honestly not really sure about it. Comparing it to Rudeus’ or Sirius’ story, this ones plot takes awhile to come into view, so like what upheavel said below - you should read the first 10 chapters regardless of how annoying or boring it might seem to you. Personally, I found this pretty enjoyable to read so far :)

edit - actually, I think they changed translators... more>> and editors mid way or they just couldn't be bothered to footnote their notes and comments anymore bc, after the story reaches around 15 chapters, the comments are suddenly everywhere <<less
