Unable to bear hurting the villain he helped raise, but when it came to compensating with his own body, the unfortunate, straight male reader figured he’d better escape… …

Many years later, the same unfortunate saint rubbed his neck, asking, “This is a dog collar you put on me, isn’t it?”

The handsome villainous boss gave a glance with his elegant, almond-shaped eyes, and then replied with a devious, charming smile, “That’s to prevent you from running away again.”

“If I stay put, will you refrain from destroying the world?”

It was a good story, may have been the best but why all did the plot changed from adventurous and emotional to f*cking Stockholm syndrome.

I really liked the way those characters were presented and how well they played some role for the main plot but then woop, it's suddenly vol 3 and MC dies once again and everything went downhill. Where's the harem sisters? The masters? The enemy? That gay boss? It was fortunate of that 'protagonist' to be present until the last. But the heck was that ending? And... more>> I so hoped the MC would discover his talents and earn himself a good name?? But he ended up as his side chick who the ML rap*d????? Yes, that was no stimulation, or missing his lover sh1t. It was plain forcing a person who doesn't know you to sleep with you. And yes that RAP*E. I seriously cannot understand these authors who glorifies ra*pe and makes it the start for their Stockholm syndrome plot line. I had high expectations, but it went downhill. <<less

I read this once before but didn't finish it because somehow that time I was in this weird burn out novel reading mood so I hold off for a bit until now and booooiiiiii this novel really takes on a new route of world hopping novel genres!!!! I really like how the author wrote such an obvious plot yet still leaves u in awed with whatever thats happening. The ML and MC are okay and I actually liked the Original protag more than the two lol but yeah, it was... more>> a great experience overall!!!

Also, thank you for the awesome translation! <<less

I'm still very early into the story (V1 Ch13), but loving it. From what I understand, this is a slow romance. Which is good, since it starts out with the MC and ML as children. The change from platonic doesn't start happening until mid volume 2. And I dunno when the s*x happens. Lol so if the "smut" tag got ya, you're not alone.

Okay, so from where I am in the story, it's very interesting. Like I said, they start off as kids. Of course, our MC transmigrated so he's... more>> mentally older than 13-14, but all in all, I didn't feel like it was awkward. Our MC did a great job becoming older brother for the protagonist and villain, and it was wonderful.

Will update as I keep reading, but just don't let the other reviews dissuade you from trying this. So far, book 1 is really good.

Edit: OMG, I can't get over how good book 1 was! It ends with a cliffhanger, but since it's 100% translated, it's all okay. I'm on V2 Ch2 now, and the start was pretty amazing. I picks up with our MC back home, trying to convince himself everything in book 1 was a dream. Then he reads the book again. Annnnnd it's changed. Not for the better, but it is more popular! So what happens? Duh, he transmigrates back. I'm not sure how many years later it is, as it ends with someone saying 4 years, then reading what seems to be an internal monologue of our dear sweet villain saying 10 years passed. So right now, not too sure how long it's been.

Regardless, I'm loving this!

Edit: (V3 Ch5) I really enjoyed book 2 as well! It's 4 years later, he meets up with the boys, shenanigans, and villain decides to stake his claim on MC. Which freaks MC out, because 1. Villain is 14, and 2. Villain is a BOY. I don't really count this as a spoiler, because typically, that's how these stories always go. So chapter 1 of book 3 spoilers:

Spoiler

Book 3 starts with MC bounced back to home world, freaking out about our sweet lil villain. He checks his book link to find the dang book missing! Depression and a broken heart follow while he tries desperately to fit back in with society. Lots happened in chapter 1 before he managed to transmigrated back to the villains world.... and finds himself in a freaking coffin. THIS IS CHAPTER 1.

[collapse]

Like I said. That's only chapter 1. Don't skim, read it thoroughly or you'll have to reread. I went back and had to reread. Great start to Book 3! I'm still in love.

Edit: (V4 Ch3) after reading people's reviews of Book 3, I was really worried I would come to hate this story. Granted, it's done a hard turn from light young sweet love to hardcore s*x. If this is offensive to you, I'd stop at volume 2. But I still liked it. MC faces his feelings head on, even though as stated before that he's not gay and is totally against that sort of thing. ML is dominant and pushy, but totally in love with our MC. Lots and lots of s*x in V3. Not a ton of plot, but it isn't non existent and I didn't think it was awful as some people thought.

Volume 4 began with a bit of confusion which is explained in chapter 2. I find it really interesting (again against some people's review). I am excited to see how things are tied up and how we get our HEA.

Edit: (Extra 4) Holy Bejeezus, Almighty, Faccccccckkkkkk. That last book. Okay I can see why some people didn't like it. However!! I DID. It was more focused on MC figuring out ML and them finding their way back to one another emotionally. That was the whole plot. Lil bit of angst in the last few chapters, but then gives us the HEA. I really DID like it. The extras are filling in the plot holes so I'm enjoying them as well.

So I say give it a try, it's a really good read. But if smutty BL isn't your cup of tea, stop at book 2, as you will get more love and s*x after that. <<less

This story... its so captivating. If you love kind and loving MC's then this is your novel! In 2 days I already finished 2 novels. I love the relationships between the characters and the plot really plays with your heart. It makes sense and it was enjoyable to read.

The characters as kids were too cute, its sad they both had to grow up in that type of environment. But its what shape them to become great cultivators after all! The ML is so kind and loving towards the two, its... more>> really cute!

Dont let the bad reviews scare you, its good. The translation for the 1st novel isnt that bad. The translater had to take certain measures to make sure that their translation wasnt stolen, theres nothing bad about that!

Overall great story :) <<less

I usually enjoy the translators' messages, notes and comments alike, and I read the comments too, they usually add to the enjoyment of the reading, but this time they created a terrible atmosphere. The translator of the first book vehemently criticized people who copy-pasted the work into other reading websites, which is perfectly reasonable. But they added so many images with disclaimers in-between the text, every chapter multiple images, they disrupt the reading. And eventually the first translator was so put off that they stopped writing notes explaining idioms and... more>> historical references, and all entry and ending notes were criticism towards stealing the text. The users' comments section is usually good fun and a place where one can theorize about the characters or learn more about historical references, but in this novel it was full of international readers complaining that couldn't MTL the text in their own language. Reading in that kind of atmosphere was awful. <<less

This story started strong and could have stood out from the pack, but ultimately didn't.

As most have said, the first two volumes were promising. For one, the relationship between the ML and MC was a somewhat unique one amongst the transmigration type novels. The MC was gentle but still tried his best to provide for the ML and the 'mc' of the original story, trying to teach them well, while the ML was initially standoffish until he accepted him, then later reciprocated. Additionally, though the MC was weak power-wise, he... more>> began training his skills diligently with hardly a cheat to be found.

These elements seemed like they would craft an endearing story with a balanced relationship, but I was wrong. Soon enough, the ML turned into a typical Yandere, the friend was basically shoved aside, characters were wasted, and the MC pretty much turned into a souvenir maker.

Though I read it through to the end and actually even liked it, it was certainly a disappointment given my expectations from the first half. <<less

This is important for potential readers: there are multiple instances of detailed r*pe and mol*station in the fourth volume. If this upsets or triggers you, please be cautioned.

Spoiler

For people who are saying it's not r*pe, the MC starts to actually cry and sob out of fear, and only then does ML stop and try to console him. At this point, MC thinks to himself "If you had listened to me when I was yelling at you to stop, you wouldn't need to have to console me right now". If you don't think this is r*pe, I would be quite worried. With this sentence, author knows there's a huge lack of consent. Saying things like 'he ended up stopping and didn't go past the bottom line' are sick and disgusting excuses.

[collapse]

Now that that's out of the way, volumes 1 and 2 were great. I love the character dynamic and the whole story and idea of MC trying to raise the villian and hero in a way that future disasters could be avoided. The story through these two volumes is engaging and is well placed, and touches your heart strings the right amount. MC is very loveable and kind, and the side characters are all interesting with their own good points.

Only in the third volume, does things change.

Spoiler

MC suddenly forgets he's a nice and selfless person. Even though he's aware that ML is annihilating whole sects without mercy, and even passed by the torture chamber once and saw multiple people living through hell with flesh torn and bones pierced through, he turns a blind eye to it. It doesn't even cross his mind to ask ML to stop. MC's feigned ignorance caused him to be an enabler to all this death and suffering.

[collapse]

There are multiple chapters with detailed R18 scenes, so keep that in mind.

Though the 3rd and 4th volume was very disappointing, I'm still going to give a 3/5 stars because the first two volumes were written very well and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The ending was also satisfactory enough, and the return of supporting characters in the extras was the highlight. <<less

Rereading this made me feel so nostalgic as this was one of my very first BL novels, and now that I’ve come back to it, I noticed that I didn’t write a review so here I am.

To put it in simple words, this novel was marvelous, I loved the MC’s personality, and I absolutely adored the character development of the ML.

HOWEVER, there were some drawbacks; for instance, the abrupt time skip as well as the ML spontaneous change of personality. Now, I understand that the author used the excuse of... more>> the time skip to explain the cause of the ML’s personality change, but it was just too drastic and I really couldn’t accept it (BUT that’s just my opinion). So, thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

lowkey still highly recommend it tho ^•^ <<less

Vol 1 and 2: really good. Love the world building, and the bonds that the MC shared with everyone. MC was assertive, likable and a big brother for all. The gradual love that the ML felt for MC was sweet and makes your heart flutter. This part is where you should stop reading because...

Vol 3 and 4:... Everything came crashing down faster than Usain Bolt running the hundred meters. After the time skip, everything the MC learned in the first two books flew out the window. MC was useless 90%... more>> of the time. ML keeps him in and r*pes him. Bonds with everyone became nonexistent. It was all r*pe r*pe r*pe, completing the MC's transformation to a beautiful frail white lotus.

Like many of the reviewers here, I love the first 2 volumes. The worldbuilding is amazing. the characters are cute, there is a clear progression of oblivious MC trying to improve his cultivation, protecting the boys and the cute tsun ML who is trying to figure out his feelings towards MC. There are cute smut scenes here and there between handsy shota ML and the confused MC. The adventures that MC and ML go on are interesting.

Spoiler

MC "dies" a couple of times, which is important plot-wise as it traumatizes the little ML and causes him to develop a complex and pushes ML to "blacken" and go into demon arts to gain power above all else so as to have the capability to force MC to stay with him always. Very cliche possessive ML personality but done right. My favorite scenes were some of the comedic scenes when our oblivious MC starts praising other girls to ML in an effort to pair up ML with them (as he tries to guide ML to the shipping in the original storyline), causing ML to be jealous and misunderstand MC's intentions.

[collapse]

I like the yandere genre and I love me some BL smut, but volume 3 and 4, which centers around the yandere ML and the endless sea of smut, were some of the most boring chapters. The writing got messy, there was no clear plot trajectory aside from MC escaping yandere ML, furious ML catches him, drags him back and papapa occurs... rinse and repeat. Volume 2 did yandere right when we see shota ML being overly possessive hinting towards yandere behaviour when he constantly gets jealous and yearning to have enough power to control MC to only look at him. In contrast, the yandere ML in Volume 3 and 4 is so boring. I find myself skimming through the smut, like meh, next.

The main criticism is that the repetition of r*pey smut derailed the storyline so much in the last 2 volumes that it got tedious. There is no character development, the characters behave illogically so as to move things along and the main conflict got haphazardly resolved towards the end in a less than satisfactory manner. It is as if there is a different writer for the last 2 volumes. Either that or she just lost inspiration in her novel and just threw in the towel.. eh whatever, let's just destroy all the romantic tension that has built in the first two volumes and drag volume 3 on with some r*pey smut featuring yandere ML constantly attacking damsel MC and then arbitrary resolve the conflict in volume 4 with bs uninspired plotline of
Spoiler

ML saving MC by sacrificing MC's memory of their past and then have ML try to get MC to fall back in love with him. And then magically have MC regain his memory and then with no apparent reason, forgive ML.

[collapse]

The only interesting part in volume 4 is ML transforming into his shota form to sneakily court and grope MC, which was cute. And the interactions with the pets are amusing and adorable.

4 stars for volume 1 and 2, amazing BL love it. 3 stars for volume 3 and 4 because it became such a snoozefest that I hardly cared about was going on at that point. <<less

I enjoyed the novel in the first 2 volumes. There was character development for the MC and a plot unfolding. I really liked the buildup and the relationship between the MC and ML but in the 3rd/4th volume the story gears off track

Spoiler

the character development of the MC stagnates after so many deaths and revivals. I think he died 3 times. In the 3rd volume the MC's personality takes a 180 from "I don't love you at all" to "I love you so much" to the ML after finding out that the ML has a fiancee. It completely threw me off track because it was so abrupt and there was no buildup.

This is completely translated which is a big plus in my book. I gave it five stars because of that. If it had not been complete I would probably have given it 4 stars only because the male lead is too forceful for me. He doesn't actually do anything super bad but I felt a sort of nervous feeling while I was reading that he might actually do too much.

As others have noted, the beginning of the story was cute but gradually turned dark. I'm just warning you!

I like the story, especially volume 1 and 2. I was so excited reading the first two volumes. Yes, the third and fourth are not as interesting but I really like the lovey dovey moments. Even though the villain is a little too h**ny.

Unfortunately, the story has some plot holes. Which makes me curious and a little confused.

But, overall it's not a really bad novel. And I pretty much enjoyed it.

Sweet, fluffy fluff and smut are all included in this story. And the whole romance thing is very gradual too. If you're afraid of the smut stuff (and yes, I mean the R-15 and R-18 scenes) then just read the first volume. It's more of a world-building and character development-building phase. There's also a bit of comedy mixed in that keeps me interested... Well, my kind of comedy, at least.

The second volume's R-15 scenes are actually pretty sparse, and it more or less signifies how the ML's feelings developed further... more>> towards the MC. You could basically skip it if you're uncomfortable, you wouldn't miss anything too important... Volume 3 and 4's smut scenes aren't as unimportant though, just be warned.

Anyways, this is a super good read, and am currently waiting like a good Lil puppy for more. :3 <<less

The base of the story is a mentor/disciple relationship with a possessive and OP disciple. There's nothing special about the story, but the quality of the writing is quite good, which makes it enjoyable compared to other novels of its genre. Another great point of this novel is the MC is often not in the company of the ML. He still maintains a bit of his own autonomy and fosters his own relationships unlike other novels. I tought the way he kept dying in the other world and then trasmigating back years later was kind of a dumb way to advance the plot.

[collapse]

Stuff happens and the villain turns out kinda bad even after all the mc's efforts. A lot of plot that wasn't really good later, theres a HE.

HOWEVER...

Spoiler

The author couldn't be satisfied with a kinda bad cliché story, they had to milk it to the galaxy and beyond. Even with the main plot done (the villain rehab) a lot of irrelevant stuff keeps happening to make the story bigger.

I'll tell it clearly: I remembered this had segs, I came for the seggs with a brain turned off, but still the author pleasantly surprised me.

To say in short, this has a bunch of tropes thrown in: book transmigration, cold yandere ml, soft caring older MC, seperation years, cute spirit beasts, artificer MC, turning to a child sub arc, forgotten side charas, vinegar drinking, good s*x, sometimes dub con

To say in long.... The plot is chaotic as hell. sh*t happens for dumb reasons, people pop up, scenario changes, more or... more>> less chaos.

What did suprise me was V3 and 4, V3 is just chaos with p*rn and weak MC and then the plot flips the world over in 4... Fillers with dub con (non con maybe?) But MC wasn't a weak, "sissy", jade beauty anymore and the dynamic becomes more equal so it was all good.

V1 and 2 is fine. In the first it's sect life, second is coaxing.

Extras 😩😩🔥🔥 aaahhh the sub arcs in extras are all so good~~

All in all, a below average plot novel, above average smut+plot novel. Now don't mind me while I go back and enjoy the meat (。•̀ᴗ-) ✧ <<less

I would like to give more score to this novel because I really enjoyed the first two volumes, but the last two seemed to be written by someone else. Both volume three and four completely forget that they are telling a story to focus exclusively on the relationship both protagonists -something that is highlighted more to less remaining chapters.
In the end it ends up being an ambiguously consensual s*x relationship and without giving much importance to the rest of the plot or to what was this character... more>> or who was the other character, sincerely the last chapters "end" the plot hastily and with holes.
It is true that, from the beginning it has not been a very elaborate story -just stallion harem- but it had something that attracted and made it fun, pity that it is losing strength as it goes. <<less
