During a party one evening in the royal palace, Rachel, the eldest daughter of Duke Ferguson, was reproached by Prince Elliot for sins she didn’t remember committing and their engagement was abandoned. Rachel informed everyone she had not committed the acts they were accusing her of, but she was dragged away out of the party venue and thrown into the palace dungeon.

And so Rachel thought,

“Hooray for my slow doing-whatever-I-want life! No more queen’s education, no more noisy servants–today marks the start of my long vacation!”

Between enjoying all of the preparations she had made for this very occasion and constantly harassing the annoying Prince, Rachel is going to enjoy her slow prison life to the fullest!

Hilarious. Accomplishes exactly what it was made to be (a satirical piece on all the villainess girl tropes). The protagonist is such a mood and so very savage. I love her.

Here are some snippets:

*****

"Did you not teach him manners!? Common sense!?"

"You flatterer"

****

"This primate is trying to make a monkey out of me!"

"Are you implying that a monkey said something to you?"

Gosh~ this story is so refreshing! I love every characters, even the idiotic antagonist... They're so idiot and clueless that it's funny to see how our MC f***s all of them!

Idk, but I have the feeling that this sh*t is going to have a really serious and sad plot sometime in the trama, the foreshadowing is subtle but I feel it... The eternal joke of how our MC is still trafficating things and scaping under the eyes of the dumb prince is going to end... With blood or something worse... more>> I hope, our MC needs to bully pretty much this idiots! I need my bloody and psycho revenge! Muahahaja

A comedy of hilarious proportions that completely turns the "villainous fiance" trope on its head.

Where the main character, the quiet, docile, and perfectly performing fiance, is actually so psychotic that her parents' first reaction to her imprisonment are "Oh God, she's going to destroy everything."

"What was her brother doing at the time?"

... more>> "He actually fell in love with the heroine and sided with the prince."

"Dear... our son... is already dead."

*parents immediately abandon the heir to their house to protect their own lives*

The translation quality is good and there is also a great manga adaptation now. (Unfortunately the manga is only 3 chapters.)

Update:

This series had a strong start, with solid characters and a semi-believable story, but towards the end it started getting more ridiculous and slapstick. (I think it really went downhill after they introduced the animal sidekick.) The actions of certain characters felt morally questionable, and the ending also felt rushed and inconclusive. For that reason, I'm changing my rating to 4 stars. <<less

As of c13: This is a fantastic and hilarious comedy. Too many webnovels take themselves overly seriously. So I'm very glad to see a parody of the stereotypical plot of protagonists being betrayed by their relatives, then vowing revenge.

After finishing the story: Overall, this was still a great comedy that didn't overstay its welcome. That said, there's a bit too much comedic physical abuse for my taste. I don't think the story entirely works as a comedy if you assume Rachel and her friends are completely in the right; but... more>> that's not really a problem, given that the story makes it pretty clear that...

Spoiler

... while most men in the story are useless, most women in the story are sociopaths, which really isn't any better.

This have gave me so many smiles and laughs throughout the whole novel, it's was almost impossible to stop reading and had to go through the whole novel at once. Not only was the MC very intelligent, had a good backbone but also took advantage of the other s*upidity, greed and emotions to get what she wanted and at the end, people either couldn't handle her and hated her or were very happy to help her. It's such a joy to read!

This book is hilarious. Anyone who doesn't rate it a 5 star has problems and its not with the book. Granted, I read the first volume on Google play, so maybe there is a slight difference. I don't laugh when I read books, I might smile or grin sometimes when there is a funny part, but its very hard to make me laugh from something I have read. This book though, it made me laugh more than once. Unless you take yourself too seriously, you will too. Don't read this... more>> if you're one of those people who think they need to break down all the parts of a book to rate it. It's only meant to be funny. It's not a great American novel that was written on a grand scale. There is no complex plot for you to figure out. If that is the type of book you like, don't read this, but if you want a silly story that will make you laugh out loud. This is the one. <<less

For me it was an 'okay' read. There are fun stuff but not to the point that I'm hyped for it.

I sometimes enjoy Prince Elliot and Rachel's interactions but most of the time I'm frustrated with his s*upidity.

The beginning was really promising and I laughed out load a lot but it didn't live up to expectation. Sigh. It was such a good premise but then the pe*verted jokes started and the writting went downhill from then. It was a excruciating to finish.

A slice of life novel with comedic overtones, sacrificing any sense of plot momentum or character for a series of comedy routines. While initially funny, it gets stale fast. Since other reviews indicate a lack of plot or character development, there's little reason to continue unless the comedy is that amazing to you.

The story leans on the comedy so the plot and character development is close to non existent.

The story is read, not to question why the characters act this way (there are no plots or mysteries involve, no bs drama, or any kind of things you want your novel to be), this is read the way it is on the premise given by the author and logic is by the author, it's like how you watch your cartoons.

So please don't try to rant about this apple, when in fact it's an... more>> orange, and please don't even compare this to those self-fulfillment novels, with their moronic dialogues and soliluquy. It's too idiotic.

I rate this as 4.7/5, just for how well the characters act and talk as designed. Still, it's too short, and they went ooc on the extra chapters so I got bored reading it. <<less

Really fun, really funny. But halfway through, it gets boring. You can only write so many scenarios with limited settings after all.

This is a hilarious slap-stick comedy series that made my face sore from smiling. However, slap-stick comedy is essentially all this series includes. If you're looking for a light read and some giggles from a series that doesn't entirely make sense, then this is a good option.

However, there is minimal action, no revenge, minimal drama, no world-building, no character-building, no romance, no gore, no horror, etc. The plot is simple and straightforward, even if it doesn't entirely make sense, so it's best to not spin your head around it. This... more>> is pure comedy ONLY.

I had a lot of fun reading it for the most part, but several of the characters do have the similar shallow personalities and fiancees of similar personalities, too. It feels like all of the tough female fiancees all have very similar personalities with only slightly changed details, and all of their relationships with their fiances feel the same. The boys are dumb and shrivel up in terror. There is a lot of room for improvement. It gets repetitive pretty quickly, but fortunately this is a relatively short series. <<less

Actual rating 4.7

Bit of a chaotic fun, each chapter an episodic antics of a certain arguably sociopathic protagonist Rachel and her undying love towards her bed. Although on the lighter side of stories some heavy elements are prevalent. Humor is of a schadenfreude variety with some sprinkles of misunderstandings. Enjoyable read if slightly repetitive, I can see some premise and the humor falling flat as it did for me.

Overall the story shows a certain excerpt of - albeit tiny - world, although the world is rather... shall we say non... more>> important factor - it is still interesting nonetheless exemplified by the mentions of other ridiculous characters, mentions of stories and political situations, further enriched by quite cast of characters each with certain unnervingly extreme characteristics. <<less

If this was a bit too long for you, here’s the skinny slick:

Dope series from some dope TLs. Go read it when you can!

I’ll keep this short and sweet: this series is amazing and I honestly can’t thank the translators enough for their hard work! The translation is pretty spot on with only minor grammar stuff here and there (which honestly isn’t a big deal). The story itself is absolutely hilarious, and has made me literally laugh out loud on multiple occasions! The characters are pretty hilarious to read about,... more>> and the way the author tells this story makes everything even better! So, what are you waiting for? Go check it out! <<less

The premise of the story is unique that's why the story starts on a fun side; however as nothing really come out of ordinary, in an extravagance way (as how I hope so), I find the story progressing in a mundane way. I thought it would be a comedy but I haven't really laughed once. Well, the MC is projected as lazy noble and the story is keeping up with her pace (stale and boring as well).

This cant even consider as light-hearted.

I just felt I have just wasted time reading... more>> this one, though I would still recommend it if your just looking for something fresh but nothing grand. <<less

This is super f*cking hilarious
Do not be fooled by the Josei and Slice of Life tag. This is none of that. This is pure, unadulterated comedy that reads less like a comedy novel and more like the script of a late night comedy show or a cartoon, where each episode is mostly unrelated to the previous ones. Attempting to judge this based on "unrealistic scenarios" or even "nothing new" is missing the point entirely

Do not go into this picturing a standard slice of life comedy based simply on misunderstandings... more>> or bad luck. Picture something like Donald Duck or Mr. Bean, where you have unrealistic scenarios and cartoon violence, and you're in for a wild ride that doesn't overstay its welcome and ends right where it should. <<less
