I don't get it why the rating is low here.. Is it because of Webnovel itself that people are giving this novel such low rating?

I'm saying this because I usually read novels 4.0 ratings and up.. So in my dictionary lower than 3.9 is considered low and not really worth reading. So for this amazing novel being only 3.5 so far.. I really don't get it. I got to know this novel from other sites. The ratings are quite high unlike here on NU.

The plot are well... more>> thought out. I love our power couple. I love how they interact and although they are very mature (considering their age.. So of course), they still have some fluffiness.

I like how their love for each other is gradual. It all starts from a mutual attraction and each own interests but then as they got to know each other, affections and love gradually creep in. If I were to compare with something.. Usually romance novels are like cotton candy and vanilla ice cream but this one is like dark chocolate with sweet wine.. Very adult like but can also be sweet.

What I can tell you is that.. This novel is very Josei-like. Thus, not for those who are looking for a fast-paced romance with fluffiness on every chapter.

It is mature but not in the sense that its full of NSFW scenes.. In fact it's very subtle and the author doesn't seem to like diving deep into it, just enough to show that they did it and for the humor of it. So by mature I mean in terms of the plot and their interactions are very adult-like. Both ML and FL have their own deep dark secrets and as they got to know each other both are their giving strengths and supports. So it's not just a one-sided support with only FL cooking problems and ML do the clean-ups. Hence, they understand each other and knows each other's limits. They are like old married couples which I'm guessing is what the author is going for even though their marriage so far has not even reach their 1st Anniversary mark yet.

Moving on to character growth. I like how every characters has their own purposes and background especially the antagonists/villains. They actually have depths and not just there for the sake of giving the MCs targets for face-slapping. Hates and Loves are also shown in many different forms. You can actually sympathise with some of the characters and their issues. In terms of ML and FL, I like how they both have growth and changes as the chapters increase. They learn from each other. Guide and support one another. Face their problems together.

IMO, the romance here is not slow at all, just not fast and direct. In most romance novels, "love" starts when they actually declare 'Ah.. I love him' and starts dating/coupling when both declare their love vocally. Meanwhile in this novel, "Love" so far is not declared openly nor directly. But from the moment they met the spark is there. Affections and care shown through their actions and teasings. As for love, it's there alright. Both MCs know it, others around them know it and readers who undertand know it too. It's just hard for them to say out loud or directly acknowledge it due to certain fears and circumstances. But you can see from their loyalty and trusts to the point no third wheel can wheel in between them (Thus, no love triangle). So the romance isn't slow at all. In fact, you can even interpret it as love at first sight.

An example I can remember is from one of the latest chapters.. They were lying down, having pillow talk.. The FL suddenly asked "Mu Yuchen, I want to date you and never break up. Are you in this with me?". The ML smiled joyously but didn't answer directly. He instead teased her because it sounded like a proposal and hinting it should comes from him instead of her (Which I find interesting because they are already married by law and is about to have a wedding in a few months.. Plus the 8-letter words are still haven't been said from both sides -, -). So you need to read between the lines too people!

Hence, if you're tired of overly cliché novels with repetitive plots, then this novel is for you. A very Josei and Slice of Life type that swoons you right into a different part of the romance world.

It is definitely not a binge read. Truthfully maybe more of a 3.8 rating (mostly because I started skipping chunks of chapters at some point)

Through the writing we get to see how the characters are, flaws and all. It's intriguing because the author does put effort into making sure a majority of the characters are multi-dimensional. It is also intriguing because for the most part I can't figure out who is the big-bad-guy and why they are doing what they are doing. So there is some mystery.

Unlike some other modern novels, the ML has his own story and is not just a face-slapping prop or a plot device to solve all the FL's problems.

The read is long and tiring, so my best advice is to read it in parts. I don't really know what to expect as I continue reading because there's not much tags to go off of. I just hope there's no tragedy b/c I don't do tragedy. However, there is drama but not the forced drama caused by misunderstandings. <<less

The synopsis is not a true reflection of the story. In fact the story carries a more serious and matured tone. This story definitely falls under the Josei genre, and older readers like myself will appreciate the subtle and 'practical' romance more. He reminds me a little of the ML in 'Our Glamorous Time' but more black bellied/cheeky. Overall I really like him. FL and ML have many similarities, they are both workaholics, independent individuals and perhaps lonely. They only show their warm nature to ppl they care for and are both described as cold/apathetic to ppl outside of their small circle. (Though ML has high EQ and knows how to handle ppl better than FL.) My personality is similar and I can relate to them quite a lot. You will learn as story progresses that this persona of theirs is due to their upbringing and complicated past. I steer clear of melodramatic stories as most of them are ridiculously childish and exaggerated. The story has its share of misunderstandings, drama and face slapping too. However it's written in a believable way. I actually found myself heavily invested in Glory World's business ventures and exploits too. Their romance progressed organically and does not feel forced. They did not totally depend on each other from the get go, it took time and effort. They really compliment each other and they communicate well as a wedded couple. ML trusts FL's character and ability, he encourages her in matters of work and builds her confidence. MCs' initial interactions are neither super fluffy nor fiery hot- it's more of an understated warm current. It's the type of partnership that is unassuming, steady and enduring. But rest assured there are many many sweet moments further along the story as the ML has no qualms teasing his shy Wife silly. The character design of this story is great. In addition to the main plot of the MC, I'm invested in side characters' subplots too for eg. I enjoyed reading about both the ML and FL's parents' complicated love life (or lack thereof). So I use these novels as 'white noise' when im working from home or going to bed... however literary I cant deal with some of the plot holes in Chinese novels. so typically the MLs are dominate and the FLs are submissive and adverse to 'intimacy' and have to be 'forced', 'raped' or 'bullied' into it (i know right?!). Anyway can someone please explain how the FL in this novel had 9% shares in her family company (let them go), then was given 20% shares for the same company (let... more>> them go) and yet in chapter 203 she is moved to tears when the ML gives her 17% of the SAME COMPANY SHARES as a so called wedding gift? the Heck?! the chick originally had a total of 29% shares AND she gave him 20% so his wedding gift is basically giving her back 3% less than what she gave him and apparently this is enough to move her to tears? And how is the FL a director of a company and at the same time they go on about how s*upid she is and is easily schemed against???? As someone who likes to read just to kill time, I recommend this because not only is it good to read but also very fluffy.
Really I admire this story so much because for the first time there is a story where the girl isn’t forced into the marriage. No child. No drama before the ML show up.

All in all I don’t care if this is dragged out. I like the characters because their human, feeling and flaws are a reality and this story captures it.

ML is not all knowing but you do realize that he is super smart. He is wise in making decision and always cautious with his steps. He’s cute too and often makes a banter with the FL. In addition he hates drama, like a real lowkey person so no scandals or ex girlfriends. He is really smart in leading his life.

FL is quite lovable too. She’s the most human character I’ve seen so far. She loses her temper and gets bat sh*t crazy. The conversations with the ML feels natural and it really goes well with the story. She was in love and was heartbroken which I understand hurt so much. All she wished was a happy family. I feel like deep down she longed for someone to just pamper her with love. But her pride gets in her way good thing ML is such a straightforward person lol.

I had to drop this one. I can't really tolerate the inherently misogynistic tone of this novel. The females are vilified and evilized while the males are given excuse for their shitty hateful attitude. Like the FL's father and grandfather. Her grandfather was complicit in bullying her and depriving her id her inheritance but sure he is old and he was nice to her when she was being bullied by his wife, daughter in law and other granddaughter so he is a good guy. Am I the only one fell so hard to Qi Lei? He’s my ideal man! I love Mu Yuchen because he’s such a perfect businessman friend, son, father and husband but ugh Qi Lei made me change my mind. I like it, its different from most other CEO meets sweet girl. It feels more real.
Tho the Novel should be called "The Most Loving Marriages In History: The 4 Masters Pampered Wifes."
The first arc is mainly Her history and family
The second arc is mainly His history and family and friends and a old "enemy" becomes a friend
The third arc is mainly the new friends life and his Wife

The one thing what stays in this novel is that the marriages of most of the people in this Novel are either for profit or do you like me just a little? You do? Fine lets get married! All marriage of the main people start like that, it annoyed me a little.
Its weird, in the 3rd arc Mr & Ms. MU mainly have guest appearances, in my eyes the author should have split the Novel there. After the second Arc everything was said and done by the 2 of em.
I did wonder in what direction the novel would go when I started that arc and had the bad feeling it would involve military or deep underground theme (Im looking at 80% of CEO novels out there) it took a total different way!

I've only started reading this yesterday, but it already captured me with the ML and FL interactions.

Yes, the FL's typical backstory of betrayal is cliched and incredibly annoying because of her spineless actions. BUT the ML makes up for it in spades!!

This ML is not your typical Chinese, overbearing CEO. He's actually a well developed guy with high EQ. He's not a yandere or jealous, just sweet and emotionally capable of connecting and understanding the FL.

The story is quite satisfying, especially the interaction between mr. Mu and mrs. Mu, who are very compatible and intimate couple.

But, apart from mu yuchen, I hate the other male characters in this story, especially his two bestfriends, zhou zimon and su chen. Both looked down on women. They always hesitate and ask him about "what's so good about your wife?" for mu yuchen, and even encouraged him to cheat on his wife. Thanks godness, Mu Yuchen such a great and loyal husband and will never wronged his wife

Great novel to read, I haven't finished yet but I can't stop reading it. So far ine of my favourite modern chinese novels.

Its full of intrigue and mystery yet it still has its romance. Every character is developed and not only focuses on the main ones.

It starts more like every other romance novel but after the first 50 chapters you are in too deep and can't stop reading, mainly because you want to get to know and decipher all the mystery.

The mystery of what really happened kept me going.....

The thing with the ML and FL is actually pretty flat. It drags on for most of the chapters until you hit around chapter 700-ish it gets abit interesting but there's still alot of fillers along the way sooo yeah....

I won't give this one a rating, bc I would rate it low, which I don't think it deserve bc it is a well translated novel w a tolerable story line (there are worst written novel out there). This is just what bother me, and some people will LOVE it. I like my novels to give me happy feelings instead of constantly questioning "WTF is wrong w this bi*ch?!?!?!"

Our FML is described as like cold (she has the cold aura) but like ma'am, she is f*cking pathetic! Like I literally scream "LET HIM GO!!" everytime it describes how she feels bitter about her ex, who cheated on her and treated her terrinly. Like she fixed his car and im like "let the f*cker soak in the rain!" She is soooo easily scheme against, and like that's her character arch and she is suppose to get better but why are you so s*upid, DESPITE BEING A FREAKING DIRECTOR! She has like ZERO self-esteem, which is... okay but I can't read her being "cold and cool" and then read about how she still feel sad about her pathetic family. OMG HER FAMILY!

Her mom, the "good" one, is so f*cking pathetic. Like good job! You let your daughter get abused and almost ruined her life bc you're too "prideful". Suck it up and go be a freaking mother. They are setting up a reconciliation arch for the mom and the dad and Im not here for it at all! I don't care if he was set up. But the way he treated his own freaking daughter afterward and to just let her be abused was just inexcusable. Pathetic parents. Her mom family has money! SHE DIDN'T HAVE TO ENDURE NONE OF THIS STUFF IF THEY JUST FREAKING TAKE CARE OF HER!!!

And her best friend annoyed me so much. Am I supposed to like her? She speaks without her freaking brain and has zero situational awareness. Like why the hell are you getting into a loud argument with your best friend's ex and white-lotus sister --> making everyone turn their attention toward your pathetic friend who stood there silently and feeling bitter. YOU'RE NOT EVEN WINNING THE AGRUMENT!! You're just spouting insults and nothing clever, while your friend is suffer. SHE FREAKING ARGUE AT HER OWN WEDDING! Time and places! Honestly it really not worth the read. It starts out ok, I like the revenge plot and few of the characters. The whole of the Xi family makes me want to vomit. The FL is pretty weird. I don't understand her character at all. I wanna seriously slap the sh*t out of her parents specifically. Absolutely useless parents. Specifically the mother.

The ML on the other hand is better adjusted. He's okay and a little op. But his family is so invasive but gets better as the plot progresses.

This novel is also wayyyy to long. I dropped it at about 450 ish. The mystery is good I'll give them that but I really got tired with everything else that I really don't care anymore. It's honestly not worth the commitment.

This is my first time review. I personally think this novel is quite good for me. I love how the author managed to keep writing the story between ML and FL until over 1000 chapters. It has a nice slow pace. So slow that even if you miss a chapter you won't miss a substantial information. You can easily guess through it.

As most of Chinese online web novels it has a cliche story line. Plot is average but interesting.

Despite being it slow and cliche I enjoyed it. The characters were three dimensional. FL had a logic behind her choices. ML was quite human. Not a superhero. Which qas quite a breather. He had his story. Both of them felt like real persons.

The relationship between ML and FL is very sweet and fun and is the reason to read.

But... I can't finish this. It's just dragging on too much and I just want it to be over. I'm frustrated over how long a lot of revenge takes. The main antagonists, the half-sister and step-mom, are just insane and aren't interesting villains, so I just want them to be face-slapped and move on. Her father gets blackmailed into marrying the other woman but it really seems like there would have been less pain if the blackmail materials had just been made public.... frankly, makes more sense to me that he left her because he was power-hungry and just drop the dumb blackmail bit. One of her grandfathers is just weak, which is fine, that works for his character, while the other is very powerful but uses exactly zero of his power to help. I love this book because in this book:

1_There is slow romance which doesn't look unnatural. Male and female lead gets married and falls in love slowly with time.

2_Even though they didn't love each other at the start of the book but they were compassionate and caring towards each other. They respected each other's loved ones and never made each other feel insecure in their relationship.

3_They always solved problems together. ❤️ 4_There were some face slaps but they were not overbearing.

5_I loved their daily interactions as a married couple. ❤️ After reading this book I read every other novel of this author on 69shu.

This was a good read to past time here and there. ML and FL really supportive and trust of each other. Their relationship was so good that they became good influence to others.

Also, almost all the characters got depth even the "supposed" villains got their own reasons that making readers sympathized with them despite their wrongs... some of them got their own redemption while others got their own shares of bad ending.

One of the plus points of this novel was the side characters also getting their own story and love... more>> interests.

It's just saddening that most problems were because of the parents' previous mistakes and sins of the past that's why most of the characters suffered.

ML was the Mary Sue here bc he was too genius & treats some as pawns. There were parts that showed ML's ruthlessness in his strategy in dealing others (made me turned off a little bit) but still understandable bc he was only protecting his family. <<less

After reading all the available chapter (332 currently) I am wondering why didn't I drop it sooner. Honestly the story just felt like it was dragging on to be able to have more chapters and some of the chapters/ stuff mentioned seemed a bit unnecessary.

I am usually okay with slow burn romance but this was just not for me. I got so bored when some of the chapters just seemed like filler chapters so I started either skipping whole chapters or just skimming it if it seemed interesting.
