Well I gotta say that I have become a bit of a fan of this one. While the setting might make you think that this is gonna be some OP dad who slaps people left and right there hasn't been a single scene like that for the 300+ chapters I've read so far.

While the MC is a bit of an OP person to an unbelievable degree unless you think people have perfect memory, pretty much knows everything and also able to learn anything instantly.

For example the MC is suppossedly someone who spent his whole life as an assassin and pretty much only had time for that while when he was free he would spend his time listening to music and watch movies/tv-shows. But for some reason him listening to music equals him knowing the song word for word, the kind of feels it should have as well as the musical scores note for note and able to play all the instruments.

He also for some reason knows the buisness models of amazon, weibo, facebook and so on.

Lastly he's able to write tens of thousands of words per day, draw several detailed pictures, while also running a coffee shop, raise his daughter, clean the house (he has a severe case of OCD when it comes to cleanliness), take care of three cats, flirt and make love to his wife, cook every meal for the family + for all his daughter's schoolmates lunches (there are at least 4-5 of them up to dozens depending on the day it's also never an ordinary meal but meals that takes hours to make), wake up early to work out and practice martial arts and work on all his different projects that differs from day to day. He does this every day so instead of calling him a super dad I'd like to call him a machine cause no human of flesh and blood could have time to do this everyday while also seemingly laze around for hours doing nothing.

On a side note as someone who spends a lot of my time infront of a computer and spend everyday writing several pages worth of text almost everyday. I can say that just straight up writing it takes me about 20-30 mins to write about 1000 words and the MC here writes a minimum of 20 000 - 30 000 words each day, sure the MC has a bunch of editors checking his work for typos and such + I believe it's faster to write in chinese then most western languages he would still be spending by my estimate at least 5-10+ hours each day just on writing his webnovels but seeing as he's just a "normal" person with no special powers it would probably look more like 10-15 hours.

Buy yeah it's a webnovel so I guess I shouldn't take logic into it but stuff like this always springs up when I read...

The story focus is that of a slice of life revolving around the life of as mentioned a super dad who tries to raise a daughter and also get back together with the only woman he's ever loved. Though to be honest the feelings seems way out there at first at least if you look at it from how the person the MC has come to inhabit previously was.

Another thing of note is the worlds setting which is pretty weird to be honest, the world is exactly the same as ours according to the author except that China was never successfully invaded by foreign countries (mainly Japan), it was never bullied so pretty much everything is the same except China is much stronger and prouder for some reason.

There is also the fact that copyright is super strong in this world which is kind of ironic since about 10-30% of the story should be subject to copyright infringements. Why so? Well for some reason because China fared much better in the past hundred years or so everything else in the world that revolves around culture is way behind or just not as developed as our world. For instance even old stories like those from Andersson or Grimm are non-existant so the MC abuses his knowledge and strong copyrights protection to directly plagiarize novels, songs, tv-shows and so on and the author will even directly copy for instance scenes from the tv show Prison Break and write them in detail dedicating 1/3-1/2 of a chapter to this which is pretty ironic I would say when the author as mentioned writes about strong copyright protection but then directly plagiarizes into his own story.

All in all though the story hasn't so far lost it's direction in that it is about raising a daughter and the everyday life of a family of three, though the mom is a superstar and as mentioned the dad is OP so it's not the normal everyday life but the life of the rich and famous. <<less

I like it I do but the FL ruined it she acts like the MC is hers just bc they had a one night stand that resulted in a kid. I feel like they haven’t met or interacted enough to be acting like this she ruins a large portion of the novel. I might try finishing this when I have the patience but rn the FL gets on my nerves too much.

It's a fluffy slice of life to read when you have nothing to do, but be assured that you can't find any action in here. <<less

With the appearance of the fatty thee story goes downhill and followed the footsteps of generic CN novels such a shame.... with the story and character interaction in the early chapter it really turns my mood to sour... I think I want to persist in reading this but as the chapter move on the fatty keeps on showing up! I don't have anything against shameless fatty characters but its just not suitable for this novel.. In my opinion..

So I would like to correct my previous judgement since the author removed the fatty!!! I AM SO HAPPY!!!! I can now say that this novel is very satisfying not only because of the heart warming feeling that you can see from the interaction of the ML and FL but also because of the cute xixi that never stops to show us her cute side.

The hot and cold atmosphere around the couple is so much for my single life, also the change that this relationship brought to the ML is sweet and satisfying like kids in their first relationship pure and full of happiness, I don't know about others but the author really did a good job in developing the characters in this story and and stories that are created by the author albeit they are not original but sharing knowledge that is not really prevalent to other people brings joy to me and maybe to others.

Author and Translator Nice Job! I want to read more and see the future development of the relationship between Yang Yi and Mo Fei ahhhh~ also xixi should be included hahahaha! I really love them and hopefully this sweet novel last forever~~~~

P.S. I would like to recommend this to everyone who wants to have some change with their reading experience since this novels is heartwarming and full of love even though the ML previous life is dark but his present is more like a fulfillment of his dreams away from the dark side that the once stepped upon.

Gave this 5 stars. Though I could see several reviews saying this novel is rubbish. I don't understand their reasoning, maybe it's a matter of opinion really. The plot is fine as it is, the MC being an assassin in his former life and now trying to raise a child he just met, the former soul from what I understood is integrated in his (memories) hence MC was able to get into the job of raising the kid as his own. The pace is kind of slow but understandable seeing... more>> the author is building the relationship with the MC and the FL, however sometimes their interactions made me frustrated given by their stubborn personalities. The kid is cute and adorable and definitely added fluff in the story. I sure hope that this novel will be fully translated because it would be a waste to never finish reading this kind of child rearing story. Thank you for your efforts, Translator! <<less

If you want a nice slice of life story, then this is your pick.

There's no rush to get things super exciting (i.e: some over dramatic crap), there's a father being an actual father to his kid, and there's the simple want of having a kind of ordinary life with his family.

If you've had too much action/fantasy stories, this one is a good story to take a break with

Alright, those review about MC not being a killer enough is kinda lowkey crap.

He stated that he didn't want to be like his past life.

As an assasin, one need to blend into the target's surrounding, so those Frozen stuffs n all can still be accepted.

... more>> This is a slice of life, yeah, kinda boring but it's still okay.

The part when he tried to get his wife back is good to read, then comes along those backstory about his shop assistant and people around him (which is very not interesting at all).

Then his kid story... uhh... kinda hard to read because it cannot make me interested in it.

But, I still gave this a 4 due to its good natured story and heartwarming scene here n there. Others, uh.. not really interesting. <<less

Cute parenting novel. The story shares many similarities to Godly-stay at home dad.

The translation quality is ok but could be better, would rate it as a 3/5 for translation. The ads and how I have to wait 20 seconds just to go onto the next chapter is kind of annoying though.

I have complaints after 77 chapters.
    • MC and FL have NO healthy communication. Maybe they'll get better at this in the next chapters, but after 74 chapters of just seeing FL jump into conclusions and lose temper like a firecracker and ML being so stingy with words, not even bothering to explain or get into the details of things, it's quite annoying.
    • The title is House Dad's Literary Life - not House Dad's Literature. The plot is still very thin after 77 chapters. Why? Because the chapters are mostly filled with filler material. These are his "literature." I came here with the impression that I'll read about the Dad's life, not about his novel or his lyrics. The author writes too much about the plot of MC's novels that they forget to write about the actual plot of MC's life. Moreover, there's a lot of content where it's just lyrics. You can't hear the tune or melody when reading the lyrics. Why bother, really. It messes up the reading experience.
I'm leaving 3 stars because the writing isn't bad. The bulletpoints I presented above are just enough reasons for me to stop reading this.

This is an exceptional novel with vivid characters and descriptive setting. It's a good mix of wholesome slice of life and excitement. One of the best I've read. Ignore the haters and try reading the first 5 chapters. You'll be hooked I promise you.

So far I like the pacing of the story and the plot development is quite eventful. I love the character setting for Yang Yi bc it feels like he's more real and not so idealistic like some MCs in rebirth stories. I just wish he would be able to clear the name of the orig MC even just for the sake of it. Letting it unsettled leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

This web novel is a good slice of life story. No excessive face slapping like other Chinese web novel. The translator doing good job at translating the story so that I can enjoy reading it.

The story theme is generic, about a super duper awesome person suddenly have a daughter and a mate. However, I like how the author uses transmigration with two personalities fighting as a start. It leave interesting interpretation about the inconsistency in MC behavior.

I just finished reading the story all the way through. Let me just say it was a worthy time killer. It's pretty fluffy and sticks to the slice of life genre more than anything else imo. Worth the read.

This is a combination of Perfect Superstar and Godly Stay-Home Dad (without the intense fighting and mu*der).

The novel is not boring. Until the end, it's very enjoyable unlike other novel where you'll have thoughts of dropping around the middle or near the end.

There are some inconsistencies but this heartwarming novel is enjoyable to read. Try it.

This is a great popcorn series to read. It's fun, heartwarming & wholesome, you can just chill and enjoy reading it. The only issue I see people having is the Female Lead is too flawed... and it takes time to "fix it" (she still has her flaws but atleast she won't be as bad as the start), to people who dont read as much they'll find it difficult as their relationship would be a bit troublesome till 200ch and by then they'll fix their misgivings towards each other i.e, finally... more>> talk to each other like normal human beings and solve it :p yeah both of them had their issues and they get annoying when the dont talk it out anyways after that they start accepting each other after that pretty much everything is wholesome and fun to read, you have to remember this is a long ass story with 1000+ chapter so it makes sense that the pacing is really wonky and unplanned out. Author has took his time to study over how to deal with your children, dos and donts, the psychological aspect of the parents actions which is really impressive and will give some good insight into these stuff. This is not something exceptional or godlike, but this is exactly what I expected from this series and thats what I got hence it deserves the 4 stars (as mentioned this is a popcorn series). As for people expecting there to be assassin action, there's not really that much and even if there's it will come like twice or thrice in the entirety of the story where he has to use his powers to deal with people. And to people complaining about filler? this is a damn slice of life with 1000+ chapters you have come with the wrong mindset if you expect it to go in a concise way. <<less
