2 words, bad writing. Riddled with plot holes, and the chapters doesn't feel connected, it feels like there are missing chapters in between some chapters. The MC and FL's personalities also feels weird and inconsistent.

Spoiler

a group of supernatural powers saw MC and FL fighting zombie waves, then somehow they managed to tracked them down to their secret base, afterwards the supernaturals asked for their cooperation to raid a secret realm, I don't even know how they came up with that term, almost thought I was in a cultivation novel. Then the leader was found out by FL that he was trying to get FL and the lvl 3 mutant to kill each other from the start, so at that point they should've become enemies, but a few chapters afterwards they somehow were in a friendly terms again which makes no sense.

[collapse]

Somehow some of the characters knew a lot about the mutants and zombies despite the fact that it was barely a few months since the start of the apocalypse. These knowledge should've only be known by people like MC who was reborn.

MC also have an unexplainable spiritual power since the start of her rebirth which makes no sense, if she have that then why was she so helpless in her past life?

I also dislike how the author can't stop describing the MC and FL's beauty at any opportunity he/she got. It often disrupt the flow of my reading which irks me very much.

Dropped at chapter 21, this novel feels too amateurish like a wattpad novel. <<less

This story has potential and and interesting premise, so I'm rating 5 stars to start.

The MC is smart and adaptable after already experiencing the post-apocalyptic world in her previous life, should be interesting to watch as she and the FL grow in power together. There's been some good set-up for intriguing back stories for the main characters, and I'm pretty sure that all is not what it appears.

The translation is good quality and the translator is witty! I look forward to reading more!

I think it's more than a year since I last read this. I'm a sucker for yanderes especially for a cutiepies like the FL (no wonder I'll give a big 5 lol) . I'm still not used with chinese novels until now because of their different construction of sentence, but I still like the story so far. At first, the story is really hard to digest, but I think it'll as chapter passes.

Not so good.. Lack romance and development... lack of storytelling and continuity like you always feel there's a chapter missing between chapters. It's Focus more about the fighting but also skip a lot of details and it's too rushed. It has a weak writing and get kind boring later on.

So, as someone who isn't very familiar with xianxia and cultivation type stories, the setting for this novel, really threw me for a loop as I read these initial chapters.

Also the whole 'villain boss' thing kind of feels like transmigration/world hopping terminology which doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the story. People refer to other people in their world as if they where characters from a book, which in context makes no sense since no one here is trapped in a book, or rather no one beleives they... more>> are in a book. So for these characters, this is the real world, yes the MC got rebirthed right at the beginning of the apocalypse, but this was her world originally, and I haven't seen any indication that she percieves it as a story other wise. There's no 'system' or whatever talking to her, so I don't know why she keeps acting like it's a book and reffereing to different people as protagonists or villains and what not.

Now back on to the setting. At first I thought this was your typical zombie apocalypse type deal, but then as I read this, it turned out that this is a completely different interpretation of an end of the world scenario. Yes, zombies are present, but they're not the only threat the human characters have to contend with. There are mutant animals, plants, and even the occasional psychic zombie that can control elements. The humans themselves where also affected by the 'virus' and now they get their own cool superpowers as well, but that also means that there are now superpowered raiders, mu*derers and rapists, running around the world causing a whole bunch of chaos even after the destruction caused by the zombies. Characters can to power themselves up using these nuc crystals (that all the zombies, mutants, and monsters seem to have in their skulls, and drop on death almost like a game character) to cultivate, and level up their abilities.

While the world of this novel is modern earth, the whole power system is very much in line with cultivation/xianxia type stories which adds a sense of fantasy to the whole zombie apocalypse premise. Almost as if the apocalypse itself was just the transitionary period between modern earth with guns and technology to the fantasy worlds with dungeons and dragons.

I think this is interesting, but it was certainly unexpected, and it felt very alien to someone who's used to western interpretations of the zombie apocalypse, which tend to be just a bit more grounded in reality.

Luckily enough, our protagonists get bulked up pretty early on in the apocalypse, so they don't really have to deal with the worst aspects of this kind of world. They are basically just lesbian superheroes who are into each other.

The romance itself seemed a abrupt at the start, but it does seem to get better as the story continues. At first it seemed unnatural because 'The villain boss' sort of just seemed to fall in love with the MC out of nowhere, but then we learn that she had a horrible past even before the apocalypse and that our MC was basically the first person to have shown her even an ounce of human kindness in her entire life, so it kind of makes sense that she instantly fell in love with her, even if our MC didn't really do that much to help her. (This isnt spoilers by the way, we learn this in ch10 and she already started to show signs of catching the luv bug in ch 9)

Also the translation for the first 9 chapters was badly formatted, but it got good once Iloveyuri picked it up.

So all in all, I think this is an interesting novel with a cool premise. 8/10 <<less
