The Hero’s party was attacked by a large group of powerful devils. The party will no doubt be annihilated if this were to go on. One member of the party, the strongest mage, Rakku, decided to stop the enemies in their tracks.

「Leave it to me here and go!」

「But……」

「Hey, I’ll catch up immediately, alright?」

Rakku mindlessly defeated the enemies, over and over again. Using his special skill, Learning, Rakku learned the devils’ magic. As he studied and utilised the devils’ abilities such as Drain Touch, he continued fighting, without rest nor sleep. The devils got stronger and stronger, but Rakku grew rapidly as well.

Rakku battled for 10 years, until no devils came at him. Rakku returned to the capital, and was surprised to discover that his own name had become the currency, and a gigantic statue of him, albeit fairly beautified, was made.

Due to him relentlessly absorbing the vitality of the devils, he had become young again. An appearance unfitting of his age. Godly abilities.

「I stand out too much」

Rakku concealed his true identity, and decided to pretend being a novice adventurer by disguising himself as a F-rank warrior despite being an S-rank mage. His adventure in this now peaceful (?) world starts now!

Good for quick read and to fill your free time, but that's all.

It's like seeing someone do something that obvious with little struggle.

Like the line that made me drop this thing is when

Spoiler

he save a girl that pinned on floor by kicking the knife that the thug has near her neck.

[collapse]

I mean come on, won't that just make it worst and accidentally killed the girl?

I have enough of this.

See yaa~

Good to pass time, just don't expect too much,

I like the fact that MC has no love interest as of yet, and he doesn't seem to care either since he seems more like someone who build a zoo instead of a harem, so I don't need to read cringy lovedovey moment (this part is my personal taste).

There seems to be some deep plot, or possibly multiple world adventure to where evil god resides (maybe). Main character convo feels like you're watching customer service bot replies though (something along... more>> the line of "What can I do for you?" "OK, I am going to fix it"). <<less

Usually I’d wait until I’ve read at least 50 chapters to judge something because the idiots who give excellent or terrible reviews after a chapter or two are the worst kind of reviewers.

But this? It’s bland, boring and tasteless. The author is incredibly lazy, it’s almost like there isn’t any motivation.

Setting: It’s unique, I won’t fault it. No edgy betrayals, no massive threats from the get go, the MC finally comes home after ten years in hell and goes with the flow from there.

Plot: It’s either nonexistent or very slow... more>> paced. I’d have no problem with the latter if it was done properly. The author has no clue on how to begin and end a chapter properly. One chapter ends with them discussing a fight, the next begins with them talking to a new character with next to no introduction. You’ll get their name, age, gender and race before the plot continues.

What happened between the chapters? You have to figure it out (which isn’t hard, rather simple but lazily done). It’s as if the author expects you to say “ahh so that’s what happened!”

You don’t even get proper character reactions to situations. It’s just “man A hits enemy B”.

Imagine a tour guide uninterested in their role and texting while narrating the history of an area in short sentences without answering any questions. It’s like that.

Characters: Incredibly one dimensional, be it male or female they have the same personality. The author clearly cannot be bothered to invest in personalities and just wants to move the nonexistent plot forward.

It’s always the “yarn yare” bullsh*t attitude.

Fights: Man A hits Enemy B.

Not even the generic japanese novel, lazily and poorly executed by an unmotivated author.

2/5 for the setting, read if you’re bored. <<less

It's a great story so far, simple but fun. I'm agree what other people are saying about the autor, maybe he is a newbie in writing novels, or maybe he is just writing it in a relaxing way. Either way is stil very much enjoyable. I recomend it to pass time between others novels.

A nice little teaser.

Thus far it's a fairly standard series. Fairly well written, and the translation is decent enough. Need more chapters to give a proper review, but liking it so far.

4-stars for the current quality. Nothing extraordinary or attention-grabbing but it has potential.

I'll give a proper review when more chapters are out.

Its pretty meh. It just feels like any other generic japanese fantasy series. There's nothing that really sets it apart. The MC is just the usual OP MC. There's a harem and its tagged as a romance? Automatically subtract 2 stars, because like most OP MC's with harems, its pretty terrible.

Over all, it's just another carbon copy OP MC, where it ends up becoming a fantasy slice of life harem. I guess If that's your thing, its fine, but the harem and "romance" is not good, like most japanese writers..... more>> The slice of life parts of an "adventurer" are nothing new and boring. I mean sure, slice of life is in general about a boring everyday life, but that doesn't mean it can't be well written and engaging.

I would recommend reading this only if you are content depraved and need some thing to read, even if its not good. This story feels like it was written copying every popular web novel cliche and idea there is.

Unfortunately, I can't change my rating, but if I could it would be 2/5 stars. <<less

This is a solid, fun read. Interesting characters as well as a fun story. The protagonist is mature and wise and kind and rather interesting tbh since the execution seems rather good. Seems promising, at the very least a fun read.

Every time I read a poor WN/LN I think that I cannot read anything worse. And I am constantly surprised. As I did not drop this story yet I must say that it is the worst thing I ever read.

"10 year after" looks like 10-12 years old student homework written for 5 years children where teacher said: "Add some dialogs if you want passing mark". Even this sweet cover does not show how poorly it is written. When we talk about whole scenario then I have seen worse anime movies... more>> though language used and way of writing is as poor as possible.

Idea for a hero and story itself is not very bad but you will be bored quite fast as there is almost impossible to feel anything maybe except embarrassment about reading so low level descriptions and dialogs. I am to lazy to verify authors age though his imagination is not higher then 10 years old (or less) guy. Only thing that can surprise you is how MC can make such s*upid decisions and then that it worked! Flow of events is primitive. Evil guys are even more s*upid then MC (That is why Ruck can cheat them).

Do you like harems? Then you will find one here. BUT... it is rather collection of pokemons as there is no romantic or s*xual interactions between girls and MC at all. Just some s*upid, polite dialog exchange.

Do you like to read about bewildered people who find who MC really is and how strong he is? Then you will find it here. BUT... mentioned reaction look like this: Oh, so you really are Ruck?... Anyway (see: TOP GEAR jeremy-clarksons-fake-surprise meme).

Do you like to read about MC POOWAAHHH!? You will find it here. BUT... Rick was fighting 10 years with the most powerfull devils in prolog and was able to kill Demon Lord. Then in main story he has problems with struggling with vampires...

Temperature of battles is medium at most. Its descriptions are rather boring.

All I can say about this story that it just continues and I am loosing my hope to find something exciting in here. <<less

I like the story so far... The premise is good, the characters are interesting (most of it)... the only complaint I have is:
Spoiler

The title should change to 10 Years after saying “Leave this to me and go”, I Became a vampire slayer, such importance the author give to them

The story's unique in the fact that

Spoiler

When he comes back after defeating the demon king, his companions are not absolute dicks who take the credit. Rather, the exact opposite. He's basically revered as a god now, he's even the damn country's currency.

[collapse]

The problem is,

Spoiler

He's revered as a god but it really, doesn't feel like it. He's been gone for 10 years and it really doesn't feel like it. He enters the city and the people's reactions seem realistic enough.

He's a savior. He's an idol, people look up to him, and any slander is harshly advised against.

The guild master's guard does not believe him when he says he is the one and only savior. That's realistic, not s*upid.

Really? You thought that after 10 freaking years, the one guy who is probably really freaking old and probably dead from beating demons up comes back suddenly and looks like a damn 15 year old? No. That guard didn't think so, and neither would I have in that situation.

But lo and behold, the f*cking guild master amigo IMMEDIATELY rushes to MC's side in an ex-machina scene to save him from idiotic adventurers while crying like an idiot after being TOLD by his guard that someone with THE SAVIOR'S NAME simply came up and asked for him.

Considering the guard's reaction, I would assume that the way he would've told the guild master this information would be skeptical and uncaring. Hell, I wouldn't have even bothered telling the old man.

But after simply being told that a random dude with "the savior's name" asked for him, he automatically assumes it's ACTUALLY HIM? Now that's idiotic. There were no attempts to confirm that it is actually him and not a scammer or a shady spy. I would assume that several people might have attempted this kind of scam in the past, considering that the King companion states that if the savior ever came back, he would be an Archduke, that high level shit. There's an incentive for this kind of bullshit. At least test the man once before crying your balls out.

And by the way, it's not even just this one scene in the story. Later on, he gets a vampire slaying cat lady or whatever as a companion, and after defeating a vampire king monster, that cat lady figures out that our MC is the savior of the world. And there is little reaction whatsoever. Just a "well, I'll keep your secret and stuff." My man. That's actually bullshit. I haven't even read like 30 chapters and these kinds of unrealistic responses really throw me off. If you've noticed, I haven't even labeled any names in this spoiler section. That's because I dropped the novel and have already forgotten most of the names and am not bothered to check them. I even forgot the chapter number.

[collapse]

Honestly, with a rant like this, it would feel like a 1 star, but I'm a relatively nice person when it comes to reviews and this novel isn't ALL that bad when it comes to other novels I've read. The manga's pretty okay too. Just... give it a whizz, maybe. It might be your cup of tea. It just isn't mine. <<less

The only reason no one noticed the battle raging for a decade is because it took place between dimensions a rather massive, chaotic and difficult to search location considering it should be infinite if I am right.

The MC came back and his comrade reacted like he just went to the toilet for awhile and only started to cry afterward but then, they turn back to normal as if he had never disappeared. There's no built up nor momentum, making the scene bland and boring.

note that this review is based on my own preferences.

Actually this novel could be one of my good-to-read WN list based on its synopsis, but nah.

Well, in short, those who like consistency and explainable logic in a novel might should try something else than this one.

Fantasy 1/5: i get that it is a fantasy novel, which perhaps the author want to make it easy to chew, but perhaps he forgot to put some logic into it, especially that those characters are designed as human being that should have nature of... more>> human being. I might give it more than 2/5 if the character are not human. Even if it is fantasy, it should have some logic in it, right?

Action 2/5: don't put up too much hope for it.

Adventure 1/5: um, if slice of life could be interpreted as adventure then this novel had it. But yeah, adventures should be adventures.

Comedy 2/5: I don't know where I supposed to find it funny, but perhaps the blandness make it funny.

It have no Romance or Slice of life genre tag so there's no point to bring it up but still, this novel should add slice of life in its genre list.

Allright, it should be 2/5, but lets make it 3/5 to appreciates the author and translator for their efforts.. <<less

It has interesting characters, a decent backstory, and a solid plot.

So I rated it a 2/5. Because it made all those interesting things somehow boring. The main character mechanically moves from plot point to plot point, with every problem being resolved within a chapter, and every side character is basically villager A: they say something important when it's their turn to solve the problem, but otherwise they just kind of stand around and wait for the main character to interact with them. There's also no mention of his background from... more>> before he said "leave it to me" in the prologue, he just randomly has adventuring skills and attributes it to his time as an adventurer. Even when he spends time with his old friends, they don't mention anything from before then.

Oh, and bad guys are really getting monotonous at this point. I don't mind them individually, but there have been 3 arcs so far and the villains have all had different names, but were otherwise exactly the same.

So yeah, if you can rewrite the story in your head as you read it, you might get some enjoyment out of it. Otherwise it's an extremely forgettable, cliche-filled, poorly written mediocre story, made all the worse because it could have been pretty good. <<less
