Typical xianxia novel and that is what I like about it. The first hundred chapters badly need to be edited. I especially like the crafting aspect of this novel and so far one of my favorites parts. Because of this novel I now prefer crafting over alchemy seeing as how versatile the occupation could be. The aspect that made me love this novel the most is the competitions, there are so much competitions. I love that part in every novels I read because we all know that MC will do... more>> something awesome at this time :D Keep up the great work translator/s. <<less

The translation suffers somewhat under being a mtl. That said, this is one of the best cultivation novels out there in terms of a mature and intelligent/ laid back attitude of the MC, no tween jokes or anything. A nice read if you want to take a bit of distance from overly pretentious cultivation novels. Solid 5/5.

An extremely generic novel, MC is used and abused. He strikes it rich with OP item that makes him cultivate faster... Etc. Romance is meh, were I to liken it to something then it'd be back when I was in grade school, where you liked this girl, and she loved you as well, but then you guys just kept it platonic. Childish, to say the least.

The plot in itself is also generic, and world building is not worth mentioning, the author does, however, take notes from novels like The Avalon... more>> of Five Elements- Where the setup is quite similar to the one in this novel, but I wouldn't call it plagiarism but that's all to it tbh.

Wouldn't bother with this novel, and I genuinely wouldn't read further just waiting for the author to patch up this sinking ship. <<less

How can I book mark this?

I think this one is guilty pleasure,

Story isn't great, but I kind of like it, most time didn't make sense, so character similar to new character, most enemy similar

... more>> for a good point (?) of this series is old character alway catch up to MC some how, and world build, past life is kind of interesting

Still I wish writer should took note what he write though, cause some time he wrote conflict with older chapter

Ex: No one with black spirit ever pass Dao 2, but after MC pass later we see many enemy black spirit over Dao 2 <<less

The majority of the novel is mostly compromised of competitions. The most common competition are magical beast hunting, and it happens often, I am surprise there are still any magical beasts left. The rest of the novel is focus on harem building, and the rest on story progression.

The beginning reminded me of The Brilliant Fighting Master, as both MCs had part their spirit veins or pulse stolen, and given to someone else in their family. However, in this novel, the story focuses on competition after competition before MC finally has... more>> his revenge. Then, he continues with more competitions, enter one of the "best" academies, to then entering another "best" academy that was never hinted at, before. This is just the first few hundred chapters, so with the cliches and repetition, anyone should figure how the story will continue.

I gave it two stars, instead of one, because of the translator and the novel is not super horrible. However, it is not good enough for me to continue reading. <<less

Sure it is mediocre but after a certain amount of time you learn to appreciate it. The best part I've read so far is the MC being banned from a domain because he might kill their disciples wholesale so he just breaks in and does it anyway. Dont attempt to even bother understanding monetary value since it has no purpose except for whether the MC going to be broke soon. It's a kinda dumb novel that you learn to like and once you out it down you won't pick it... more>> up but still. <<less

So far I really love this novel. Yes it has its cliché's - as a true member of the xianxia genre, there are many things here that you would expect - why read this at all if you don't like xianxia/wuxia novels?

Typical cultivation growth & battles - nothing really innovative here, but if you love cultivation stories you shouldn't be disappointed.

There is ROMANCE - its not amazing romance but its there at least (its similar to BTTH IMO) which means that they give you the satisfaction of knowing he's not... more>> gonna die without love in his life but the frustration of knowing its not gonna go anywhere anytime soon.

The MC kills his enemies, and gets revenge as well.
Spoiler

Sucks out the martial potential and consumes it himself, restoring his own strength and crippling and or killing his enemies.

[collapse]

I like several of the female characters (There are some characters that aren't really fleshed out at all but some are very interesting.)

I really didn't like the typical "I'm gonna r*pe you" attitude of several of the young masters, but as far as I've read they haven't actually done the deed to anyone in the story. I'm re-reading the book from the beginning just to confirm that fact for everyone though. :) <<less

TL;DR : Novel is OK.

For all those peeps looking for [Realism], you are at the wrong place. Go out, meet people and interact with human being, that's realism. On to the novel, QY is one dumb a**hole. Oh.. Maybe the author is one dumb a**hole. Redundancy, keep repeating one thing over and over again. My brain just went fried reading a particular chapter. What suppose to be a good scene picturing reluctance and sincerity from both sides - potentially a touching scene turned into annoying lack-of-brain s*upid mofo without care... more>> of anyone and desperate dumb biatch's plea. If I were XYL, the moment he asked give excuse i'll give warning on the third time and directly castrate him on the fourth. If I was QY, like I give an eff regarding anyone saying anything abt my marriage. Im just there to ruin the day.. And with my father's back up, i'd sit and curse all of them with swag. Maybe the author is a social outcast, one who has no idea how to interact with people.

That being said, novel is OK so far. May not be everyone cup of tea with all the cliches and troupes but it's under [Fantasy] for a reason. Good for light reading and wasting time. <<less

By chapter 800 it seems like it's just a series of losers confronting our hero and getting humiliated, and a series of hot chicks who fall for him. I can't keep track of how many women have been inducted into the harem so far, but I'm sure it's upwards of 10.

The author seems to have run out of ideas and is just recycling the same crap every 10 to 20 chapters.

Note to translator: All the exclamation points give me a headache. It's like they're shouting at each other all the... more>> time. <<less

I’m just reading it because the translated seems hardworking and his review is so straight up that you gotta take his work for it. I’ll edit this later unless I end up just throwing my life and class away to read this novel in a binge

The summary written above is just the first arc. Afterward, MC moves on to newer worlds and expand his adventures as well as meeting more characters.

This novel is similar to WDDG (same author), and you get the same vibe reading it. The same ideology as well as story flow. MC moves from place to place, and he has to handle problems on spot. Female friends received pretty much same treatment as WDDG. They all have good impression of him after a while, which gets into a crush zone (rather than... more>> friendzone). <<less
