What do you do when you wake up and find yourself inside the very game that you love?

What do you do when you realize you that you have not only become an NPC – you have even been thrown back in time to before the game even launched!

What will happen when our protagonist’s two realities coincide?

Han Xiao was a professional power leveler before his transmigration. Using his past life’s knowledge, Han Xiao sweeps through the universe as he prepares for the arrival of the players. This is definitely not your typical transmigration novel.

Totally terrific!!

No moment when you feel the story is stagnent, plot is awesome and even related to the real world and fiction has reasonable explanations. The whole story has many unexpected plot twists and the end is mind blowing. Though it could have used some more romance, especially for the MC, but overall a very good ride till the end.

I so wish there was a sequel

This novel almost falls into the same vein of quality as the LOM. The level of world building and the over arching plot becomes insanely good as the story progresses. Most of this won't be seen in the first few hundred chapters though as this is a sci-fi that progresses from the planetary level to the galactic level and the main character only finds out the secrets of the universe as he progresses in strength.

On the topic of nationalism, this story is an odd one. There are competitions between the... more>> 'players' where they have e-sports competitions, and in it the main character is biased towards the Chinese teams as he is Chinese, but this isn't really strange all things considered as most people cheer for their own teams in sports. Outside this there are points where the Chinese players clash with others such as europeans and americans and they are made to look bad, but where things get strange are in the later where the author seems to have some anti CCP sentiments. Minor spoilers for the later parts of the story ahead.
Spoiler

When the main character finds out about how the major civilizations treat supers once they have total control over them he decides to break away from government control and fight for freedom. This almost seems to be an underhanded way of pushing anti CCP sentiment without being obvious about it.

[collapse]

Finally, this story does have a proper ending with loose ends tied up, characters from early on not forgotten, and the MC and many others do get with someone. And the major mystery of why and how the main character ended up in the situation he did was solved. Definitely one of the best journeys I have been take on. <<less

I really liked this one. If you have the time this is worth it.

But there isn't really romance until the end of the whole thing and it's not much ... more>>
Spoiler

MC has a girlfriend? He gets together with Ames and the are really cute

[collapse]

MC at first is treating the whole thing like a game and the NPSs like NPSs but in the end he comes to like the world and the people

He is really OP and he has a plot armor but I think it was fun

Spoiler

I saw some reviews saying that the girl NPC on Planet Aquarine or wat was the name have taken the credit and the MC have gone off but later he comes back and gives her a lot of money

[collapse]

And there are always stronger enemies and the MC is always getting stronger it's not just the beginnet planet there is a whole universe

And in the end everything is explained so if you don't understand something just read further and you get an answer

Spoiler

like why did the MC get transmigrated and the truth of the world and these things are explained at the end of the novel

[collapse]

All in all I think this was a very good novel now I'm going to search for something like this to read

This is a fine novel but considering the high rating it currently has (4.4), I was expecting better.

The main pro is that, somehow, it's almost original. Gotta agree with the synopsis that it's not your typical transmigration novel.

The main cons are... everything else... Okay not everything but a lot.

First, this is a litrpg (interface and menus and stat sheet and all that stuff). But this part is beyond awful. The system in this novel is needlessly complicated and neither most reader nor the author has the ability to actually keep... more>> track with it, as proved by the numerous inconsistency already present... (hard to say when it is translation error and author error though). Regardless, it is needlessly long, needlessly compicated and in true mostly irrelevant because the author will do whatever he wants regardless of the stats anyway. By chapter 100, I was skipping every litrpg-related stuff in the story, to both not waste brain cell on useless stuff and not to feel annoyed with the mistakes.

Secondly, the story... The story itself is OK but clearly lacks a proper goal except "let's be strong because why not". Pretty common problem in chinese novels, but at least most of them try to come up with an excuse for it ("need to save someone, but too weak!", "here is too dangerous, need to become stronger!", "need to prove myself in X tournament, need to be stronger!",...). This novel doesn't bother with excuses like that. MC will try to be stronger and repeatedly risk his live, motive be damned.

Third, the pace.... It is slow. Not slow in that nothing happens, but slow in that a lot of kinda useless stuff keeps happening. It's like quite a few mini-arc one after the other but few of them actually matter.

And last but not least, the elephant in the room (for me, not necessarily a problem for everyone) : the characters. Or more specifically, the interactions between characters.

To quote another review that say it in a very short way: "problem is that the main character has a lack of intrest in other characters. Makes the story very bland." which kinda nails my feeling on the problem, but I'll explain it in detail.

The MC is a NPC/Player (basically a cheat existence that gets most of the benefits from being a NPC and most of the benefits from being a player). The other NPCs are basically real human (arguably, much more humans than the players). However, better not thing of them as humans because the MC clearly doesn't. If you think of NPCs as humans, the MC will appear to you as the biggest piece of sh*t in history.

That alone is pretty bad in my opinion, but the real kicker happens when he interacts with players too. Because the MC considers himself a NPC now (ah!), he will also only treat players as tool to get stronger instead of people.

It's kinda hard to explain tbh, and it's not apparent at the beginning, but this is really bad for character interactions. In the end, he considers himself to be a great amazing person and treats everyone else as unfeeling tools to be used and discarded as will. Note that this is kinda different from an evil MC to me. I'll try to explain the difference in a spoiler by giving an example in the story.

Spoiler

MC was in a business relationship with NPC A. MC was crafting stuff, while NPC A sold the stuff to client. Those were expensive stuff and worked on a pre-order model (client give money to NPC A who gives money to MC who then craft stuff and give to NPC A who gives to client). All is well and good until the MC thinks he stayed there too long and he should go somewhere else to speed up his grow. So he just goes away and leave a message "hey, I'm going away ahah".

NPC A is of course enraged, because a lot of clients are still waiting their order... and they already payed... and the MC left with the money. To give an idea of how bad it is, some chapter later we learn that NPC A is now running and hiding for his life from debt collectors.

Now here is the different between an evil MC and the MC we have. An evil MC would have done what he did because he wanted the money. He would have purposefully left without giving back the money, knowing clearly what he was doing. The MC we have didn't even realize it was a problem. It's not that the MC is dumb though. He is smart. But to him, what happens to other NPC once he is done with them doesn't matter at all to him. He didn't even consider once what would happen to people here once he left (NPC A wasn't the only one hugely inconvenienced by his sudden disappearance).

Also worth noting that he didn't even need the extra money. Ironically, one of the things he never lack is money, he is filthy rich kinda, which further shows he didn't realize the little bit of extra mone he "stole" didn't matter at all.

Actually, this expands to lots of part of the story. He casually steal things so much while pretending to be a good person that it becomes kinda sickening.

I am not a big fan of LitRPG, but it was just enough fun to continue. The world-building is thin, but if you read it quickly and don't focus on details it's pretty entertaining. The MC *does* encounter some challenges, but he is strong enough and clever enough to overcome most of them pretty easily, with only rare times when he faces serious risk.

In order to emphasize how clever the MC is, his opposition is often rather dense, but it mostly works with the half-humorous tone of this novel.

The final... more>> explanation for the game universe is rather dense and a bit awkward, but it was foreshadowed fairly well. And, at least it gives meaning to the game universe, beyond "let's level up and have fun". <<less

Amazing story so far, but it does get repetivive... extremely repetitive. There's basically no character development and the MC continues to power up with knowledge of most things. It's too easy for him, thus ruining my experience.

Spoiler

In the later chapters, I do believe it's plotted for Ames, the Dragon "King" to have romance with the MC, and in later chapters (way into chapter 1300, I think) he begins fighting the World Tree (Organization?) I forgot the name but it was a colonization similar to the dynasty and federation.

Like what Tides said in his review, it is fun to read for the first few arcs then slowly it starts to lose it's charm. It is hard to care about other characters other than the MC because he doesn't care about them either.

It becomes a story about the MC just getting strong without much reason, there's no danger, no tension. You are just reading about him getting strong and just fking over NPCs who appear interesting at the start but most of them are just not expanded upon.

For me,... more>> it became boring to read slightly after he left the first planet, it is well written but the side characters aren't given much growth, it's all about the MC. The first planet arc is pretty good though so maybe give it a shot and see if it's your cup of tea. <<less

Story has started to get a little slow for me so I decided to read something else I have stockpiled and possibly come back to it.

One of the biggest issues I have with the story, and I’m starting to think it might just be me that has this happen is that all of the swear words have full stops between them. So crap becomes c.r.a.p, it really breaks the story up and makes it annoying to read.

The general storyline is pretty good and the MC is solid. Not a wet... more>> flannel like some novels. <<less
