Long ago, I was fascinated upon seeing healing magic. But to be taught, you need to make a huge donation. I, who came from a normal family, could never afford it no matter how much I stretched my budget. Thus, I could only study and teach myself, quite desperately even. But around the time I reached the limit for what self-study could get me, I got to see a Saint first hand performing a charitable service using healing magic.

――――Eh, that was Heal just now, right? It was only used a few times, and you’re already having trouble breathing, and not only that, your healing didn’t even do that much! You gotta be kidding me――――?

Your typical sexless novel where everyone wants the MC but calls him a pe*vert for even sniffing close to any action. Could have been good with more dynamic action or without the aforementioned BS, but maybe this will still work for some slice of life fans.

The setting for this story had potential and I really had hopes that I came across a good read. Sadly the author seems to have felt it necessary to drown the story in over used troupes. Once the typical sexless harem troupes you see in MOST other stories from Japan kicks in, it becomes a chore to read.

If the story had avoided the troupes and attempted to hold some originality in areas other than just the setting, then the story might have stood a chance.

The dense protagonist, lolicon, love with... more>> no real basis, and various other cookie cutter troupes have become the main reason I have dropped novels because it's like I'm eating the same meal that only changed the seasoning. At it's core it's still the same food even when you trying to disguise it with alternate seasoning (in this case the same old troupes in a different setting).

I wouldn't recommend this novel to those like me who have read their fill of Japan novels and ended up sampling the same troupes in many novels. <<less

Firstly, the writing style... is horrendous. The author doesn't give any physical descriptors. All we learn about the MC is that he's 16 years old. What color hair does he have? What color eyes? How tall, how thin, how muscular, what type of clothes does he wear? I'm afraid I might have to read 40 chapters from this annoying first person perspective before I find out. For the side characters, we don't even get to learn their ages. All we know is that one of them is a former princess,... more>> and the others are Lolis, which could mean anywhere between 4 - 12 years of age. First of all, the MC is not a reincarnated or summoned individual; he was born and raised in the fantasy world setting, so how do the terms 'Loli' and 'Loli-con' even come into play? Ugh, Author-san, if you're going to write in first person, the narration has to match the setting.

As for the story concept, it might actually be really good if the author put some more thought into his writing style and character development. But the story is too rushed. Somehow the MC is able to perform better in his first-ever fight than a 10-member party of experienced adventurers, even though his only cheat ability is 'Heal.' And we're introduced to 5 harem members in the first 9 chapters alone if you include the inn keeper's daughter. Moreover, it's a sexless harem. Also, even though there's no Japanese character, the story still retains the typical Japanese LN cliché: spineless, boot-licking, inferiority-complex-infested MC, who always goes out of his way to hide his skills so that he earns as little respect as possible. Even among his own companions, the MC is treated like tr*sh by his own s*aves who do nothing but mooch off of him.

But with due credit to the translators, despite how crappy the story is, the translation team is among the best. <<less

It's such a shame when someone has a great idea, yet fall so desperately short in the execution. At first we had protagonist who unfortunately learned that he had already reached beyond the standards of his profession, so he was at impasse at what to do with his god like powers. Yes it could of been a story of what to do after you completed the dream, but unfortunately the author talent falls short after it's initial beginnings into nothing short of tr*sh writing. At last the translation is such... more>> a gem you might enjoy such a nonsensical half bait comedy during your free time. <<less

I'm amazed that 88 chapters of this have been translated. There's nothing wrong with the premise, but the protagonist is ret*rded and the women around him act terrible. I had to stop at c5

where MC tells a s*ave girl to sleep on the bed, and when she protests, he tries to convince her by saying he's a lolicon he'll be unable to control himself if he sleeps in the bed with the little girl he just cured.

I don't see why anyone would care what happens to this guy. Heck, he'd be more interesting if he really was a lolicon. At least then he'd have a personality trait other than "s*upid" and "useless". <<less

It was very funny and short at first. But the Humor turns nothing but fan service later on. The Romance and Characters are far to easy and don't feel real at all. There's really no goal or purpose... such a shame. I had high expectations too. I've forgotten how there's sexless pe*verted Novels at Japan. Sigh.

I really loved the way he thinks his power is weak when its OP. It was hilarious but it gets to the point where he looks like a Buffoon. Nothing organize.

It was okay. There was some measure of charm. Not truly bad, not good either. It's something along the lines of "I have nothing else to read, so might as well read this."

The protagonist is not really a pu*sy as some would say, sure he could be a bit more manly and not be such a sissy that he gets bullied by his own s*ave. However, Ai-chan personally think it is fine. It's actually normal for a boy of that age to act that way, so it is okay.

What is... more>> NOT okay is his own s*ave bullying him, beating him and scheming against him. Sure he's a nice master, but just because he's nice, doesn't mean his s*ave can just walk all over him. That is still your master, you know. He took you from the s*ave market and not only do you not obey him, you demand stuff from him and abuse him as if you're still a princess.

Sure, the author is probably trying to make it as if it's a gag. Personally Ai-chan does not find it funny that a s*ave is using the entire town to hurt her master because she's pissed or actually stabbing her master in the heart with a sword because she's embarrassed. Aura is toxic, Nest should just free her and kick her out his house and his life because this is going to continue for a very long time.

Spoiler

Example of her toxicity: He pranked Aura with a bug in the bathroom. As a result, Aura beat him up. If this is any other story, it would've ended there. But no, she didn't stop there. She instead manipulated the whole town to make them beat him up. And she has absolutely no remorse about this. If Ai-chan was this guy, Ai-chan would've sold her back to the s*ave market and leave this ungrateful town immediately.

I have to say that the novel started out very quite promising, but the it slowly gets bland.

The latest chapters I read feel as if author ran out of ideas and is just writing for the sake of releasing more chapters (like fillers in anime, no impact to story and not enjoyable to read.)

The author also has a problem of over exaggerating the comedies that I feel that it is not funny. At times it even frustrates me. It shouldn't be "anything goes" just because MC can heal the... more>> damage done for the comedy part.

Spoiler

1 - getting hit badly in a single hit or a short while is normal for a comedy. But lovers beating him up until disfigured?

2 - insect prank get retaliated with city wide quest to trip the MC? I can't even laugh because it is again done by someone who is supposed to love him.

At first you could expect a real story but the short chapter and the harem building changed it for something light hearted... Could have been fine like this but the author seems to still want to give some plot. Then we have the non stop comedy of the MC being constantly misunderstood by ppl and being hit by his own harem overshadowing the plot... And the MC is too nice with everyone and so dense... Well like most japan other-world harem thingy...

I think it’s a waste of a good setting... more>> but well the comedy is still here <<less

Okay, I'm not great at writing reviews but hopefully I'm able to summarize some key points for possible readers.

Tags:

1. I noticed crossdressing is a tag. Don't get your hopes up people there's like a paragraph for this.

2. Overpowered, ... more>>
Spoiler

At the start he was super op, he met a opponent who was more op. Basically he's in the norm later on in the story and the people he places himself around are just super underpowered

[collapse]

3. Misunderstandings, This is by far the worst f*cking thing ever invented. I'm going to be super biased but I literally cannot stand this shit. It's not that hard for someone to listen and comprehend a situation without making assumptions. This is like if someone says you're racist for hating black people, you don't just perk your chest up and say, 'I have a friend who's black!' The person just adds to that giving them evidence. Instead you'd say something more like, 'How am I racist?' Then they have no evidence. Like holy f*ck...
Spoiler

Like if I was the main character and everyone was bashing on me for being a lolicon pervet just ignore it, don't try to dispose of the evidence because people will just bring up more, and dear god... These are s*aves, if they try to hit you and nag on you, you have the power to stop them. It pisses me off, like release them from the s*ave contract and just ditch them for being rude and inconsiderate.

[collapse]
This just pisses me off so much because in every novel, anime and manga from every country they have this shit. For instance people walking in on girls changing in the protagonist's room, like why's the person changing able to scold the person when it's their own room. It just goes against common sense and decency.

Anywho enough of that rant.

Reason for not being able to enjoy this novel.

The chapters a far too short. I expect a chapter to last me twenty minutes at least. These take like 3-5 minutes to read. It was maybe a good 7 minutes at the start of the novel but the writer started making it shorter and shorter.

To me this is the biggest turnoff because it always feels like the story isn't moving anywhere or progressing fast enough. And most chapter are almost these side chapters or spin-offs which is annoying. Just think of like naruto where out of every 10/20 minutes of the episode it was relapsing what happened in the previous episode. They do this so they have time to animate for a future episode where there's a huge workload or. etc

Anways, that just a small summary. Besides the 3 tags that I mentioned it's pretty on point. Translator is good story is slowly progressing and is above average but not great.

3.5 stars, I gave it the better end of the stick <<less

1. The story is quite cliche. Not bad. Just cliche.

2. The story description is just so bad. There's almost no detail for anything mentioned.

3. I don't need to mention how annoying it is for each chapter is just too short without anything significant happen in each chapter

... more>> 4. The protagonist is way way too kind. Holding back too much. Timid too much. It's not like I hate someone like that. I love them.

But when he is the main protagonist, that kind of characteristic is just too annoying. He is similar to a yes man characteristic.. <<less

Okay. It is a funny novel, no doubt about that. It's totally worth reading IF YOU DON'T THINK TOO MUCH. Seriously, don't think about it, just read. You won't be able to enjoy it if you think about plot, logic or something else like that. Go in with that mindset and you will probably be fine.

I mean, it's a freaking cringefest. Almost every chapter there's something that bothers me or makes me cringe because of how ridiculous and impossible it is. Getting bossed around by your s*aves (like getting told... more>> what to do with your own money, being forced to sleep outside the room and skipping dinner) and how the "romance" (love at first sight or for ridiculous reasons, then they immediately become clingy AF, like some possessive girlfriends, even if they just met and aren't even in a relationship, it's as if they took some kind of drug that made them fall in love with him, in 8 chapters and like a weeks worth of time he's got 6 potential harem members already, 4 that are confirmed to love him and 2 that are highly possible but haven't shown any romantic affection yet, in chapter 9 we got the 5th confirmed love interest, so then it's 7 potential harem members... just what is the fcking rush) works here is what really bothers me the most...

Oh, and 90% of the characters in this novel is freaking braindead with sh*t for brains, utterly ret*rded. The MC is among them. Let's take a few examples. 1: The MC goes out into the forest, finds an injured dragon that attacked them, runs away, comes back shortly after that because he heard about some random hero getting to fly on a dragons back after helping it in the past, heals the dragons injury (without confirming it's sentient or not hostile, no agreement or anything) and gets chased a damn far bit. Later on turns out it attacked people, yay for ret*rds. 2: MC almost gets mu*dered, gets back, the guy almost mu*dered everyone in the guild, the culprit asks if they could move to a more remote area where they could fight alone, this guy fcking allows that and silently follows him and listens to him while he wastes time. When he defeats the guy, he offers to heal him after a life or death battle, even while the guy is hostile. 3: The king is a chuunibyou and adores the MCs extra identity that he got while hiding himself, considers himself far below the MC, acts as a religious fanatic would towards a god. Goat piss for brains. 4: The king and saint visit his house, the king screams and collapses at the dining table, saint rushes down with the MC, saint heals the king by repeated spells, when he recovers somewhat she instantly looks at the table and says that she's hungry and proceeds to try eating the food right in front of the king on the table, which results in her collapsing from something like a severe food poisoning due to horrendous cooking skills from the "chef". She didn't even bother to ask why her father collapsed, clearly eating the suspicious food was more important. Infidel. 5: The MC seems to consider mutilating himself (cutting off his legs, hands, fingers, arms etc) as something exceedingly normal. Makes me wonder what the heck everyone in the village told him, including his parents. Especially when he tested out his healing magic by cutting off his own limbs and healing them every few seconds for an entire day, must've been a mountain of ownerless body parts after that. So, don't expect anything when it comes to the characters intelligence, because each one seems more ret*rded than the last and I don't know if the author is doing that on purpose or just sucks at proper writing.

So try to avoid thinking about it and focus on what matters: the comedy. Just turn off your brain and read it, the chapters are pretty short and should be read in a few hours, it's totally worth it to kill some time, I laughed quite a few times. <<less

I started this novel with high expectations. I was expecting a fun series about a healer. What I got was a series with shitty comedy and characters with piss for brains. Comedy is subjective so some of you might find it funny but I don't. The comedy here is so reliant on people being super f*cking s*upid it isn't even funny.

s*upid characters have been done before and they've been done well. Examples would be Aqua from Konosuba, and Marie and the color five from the latter volumes of Otomege. The... more>> thing that made them great is that they get what's coming for them if they do something s*upid. Another thing that made them popular was their personalities. Aqua is s*upid and selfish but she still really cares for her friends despite the fact that it doesn't seem that way. Julius from Otomege is a complete buffoon that can be easily manipulated but he actually has a heart of gold and he can't stand it when he feels that someone is doing something he disagrees with.

The characters that I listed has something called a personality and a sense of logic that their s*upidity follows. Aqua is guided by her selfishness and belief that she is a goddess. The characters here don't have that. Example would be when the MC cuts off his hand and runs away after healing it because he feels like he's failed. Why didn't anyone stop him and explain the situation? Granted they tried to get him back to the guild and they explained to him everything but the poor excuse of a comedy that they did in between was the worst. The MC should have at least stayed and listened to what the Guild Master and Receptionist would say after but he instead runs away. There is literally no logic in the proceeding actions after that. Thank God that I dropped this before I expended more time for this poor excuse of a novel. <<less

Be warned, as the author stated, it's his first work, and it's a full blown comedy similar to 4-koma. This novel is about an overly self conscious, villager who had a low self esteem about his healing ability (Which he learned about it by himself, and turned out to be OP. Wellp, basically, the typical OP MC). Oblivious with the way of the world, since he is just a mere villager who recently came of age and decided to go to a town to work as a healer, he always... more>> think himself as an inferior being, compared to others but he is (not quite that) s*upid (at least he still show some sort of intelligence), and finally realize his abilities that he poses because his absurd way in pursuing and training his recovery magic.

Yes, it's a comedy with a plot, so don't expect a well developed plot in this novel, and just enjoy it for the comedy. Since the author already stated so in the beginning of chapter 1, I tried to enjoy it without really minding about the detail, and hey, it turns out not as bad as people claim it to be a 4 koma-ish novel with it's typical low self-esteemed dense character and it's slap stick comedy. <<less

Unique premise of a story.. Unique plot (?) It's interesting to see how a boy who self taught himself managed to become one of the best healers if not the best healer in the world.. He's not all around broken as a character, he lacks fighting strength, and is dense in the romance department but its still worth a read.

I haven't read that far yet, but for a newbie author (or most authors for that matter), it's pretty good so far. Sexless is better if you ask me. I personally usually dislike smut unless that's my mood at the time. Romance is better. And by the way, this is definitely a 4-koma style web novel, and it's really good at that. Just read it like you would read 4-koma mangas like Ichiroh! And the like. Light on the plot but time still does move on, but mainly meant to... more>> be a gag story to be read chapter by chapter. Do prepare yourselves for after Ohanashimi's translation is over, which is up to Chapter 67, if you're like me and hate translators who make unnecessary or useless comments in their translator's notes that do nothing but interrupt the story and mood/atmosphere, thinking they're funny. <<less

If you just want some dumb fun reading, like a 4koma, read this. There's not much seriousness in this story so don't expect for this to have a lot of those.

One thing that you will need to endure is, after you've finished all of Ohanashimi, the comments in the translations of Neko Seirei. I have always disliked seeing these in translations and will always do because it removes you from the story. Specially if the mood that the author's trying to make you feel is serious.
