A good novel,

Top novel in mar gravity's novels.

Fan service at best.

There are some tragedy, like that Shui Fu'er, most pitful woman in the novel.

Interesting story developments, unique cultivation. No pointless tr*sh talking, almost Overpowered MC.

MC takes what he wants through his own ability (no excessive plot armor) while protecting his family and those close to him.

The MC is highly intelligent which was quite refreshing and I'd certainly recommend this novel for anyone who prefers an MC that's smart and makes good use of those smarts.

There are also loli's in this novel but don't worry too much, they are much older than their physical appearance/body lead them out to be. They are much older... more>> than 50 years old. <<less

Reviewed at c51 of genuine translation and c556 (final) of mtl. Rated 3.5 ---> rounded up to 4.

Heavenly Star told the story of a young man who woke up without identity in an unknown zone. There, he met a young girl with similarly unknown background and tied an unbreakable bond with her. After going out of the area, he assumed the identity of a previously missing young master from a declining military family. With tricks and threats, he repaired all the injustices that the family suffered (while shamelessly gathering harem),... more>> but then found bigger threat, that was the girl's origin. Not to mention that his own origin was suspiciously untraceable.

Heavenly Star's narrative was enthralling. The beginning of the story was good, and the plot development was interesting till the end. However, there were some rather disturbing plot holes, also coincidences that was so obviously forced to happen just to give the MC additional arm in facing the threats in front of him. There's not much training scenes or sweaty hard work to get stronger here; more like 80% luck, luck, luck, and trickery, plus 20% mental strength. I also disliked how the author treated the MC's male sidekick, while the MC was allowed to run rampant with his dick.

The good news for you would-be readers, this novel has plenty lolis. Goddess loli, sword loli, demon loli, childish loli, loli baba.... I just regret that there's no bunny-eared or cat-tailed loli. Also, the MC has this really cool temperament for which you can't help but applaud. <<less

Started off interesting until it devolves into typical Chinese novel that is 80% talk during fights that do nothing but fill word count and chapters.

15% is descriptions of women, it's not like we need 1/3 of the chapter describing a woman that's already be described.

5% is action, but even then it devolves into just talked when MC arrives.

... more>> Characters: Pretty bland, it's a Mars gravity novel so what do you expect. Woman all want the MC and MC must have beauties or he'd die.

Story: seems interesting but 50 chapters in out of a 500 chapter novel and it's just talk and no other interesting stuff then I don't hold any hope for it.

Now if you like novels like Emperors domination and Against the Gods then you'd like this novel since they are alike, in the sense that they get beautiful woman and talk way to much instead of taking action (which is weird considering they say actions speak louder than words/who has the biggest fist is right) <<less

In my opinion a novel can be judged by how much emotions it invokes from the reader, and its ability to attract and keep the readers attention.

The main character schemes using his intelligence and shows realistic human traits, such as an outburst of emotions when the thing he considers important is touched. The protagonist and his sister have an extremely close bond.

Spoiler

The author hints at them both being legendary beings which have existed since long

ago even having a legend passed down about them. Which really means that their ages aren't what they seem. Anyhow the protagonist being a god, has a unique way of cultivation thus the author doesn't mention much about the normal way of cultivation in that world.

[collapse]

Overall this novel is a good read, much different from most cultivation novels which the main character basically travels through countless layers of cultivation over thousands of chapters and learning pill making and how to be a blacksmith. There will be exciting moments, and moments that make you want to kill certain characters.

5/5 would recommend.

Now I will respond to other reviewers who I disagree with

Spoiler
    1. The MC and his little sister share a perfectly realistic relationship. It's pretty normal in real life and novels, that if someone helps you during the time you are most vulnerable, that you would pay them back just as much.
    1. The main characters are hinted to be angels/"dreadlords". This explains his unique cultivation method, why pe*ophile isn't a tag and why he is smarter than literally everyone. To all those people who complain about these things, read between the lines. The author literally introduces a legend about the devil kingdom, the dreadlord, the black angel and the white angel. Within the first 5 chapters, 3 suspiciously similar people appear. Mysterious MC, white haired girl and devil woman in the tower (later revealed to be black haired). Sounding familiar yet? By the way, to the one person who mentioned reincarnation, I don't think they reincarnated, they likely never died. Reasons behind this, the black woman was sealed in the tower since long ago, if she survived the other 2 could have. Secondly was the first quote MC heard (something like) "You have been sleeping too long, wake up" which was in the first few chapters. Sleeping implies he technically wasn't reborn and was just in deep sleep.
    1. "There's no structure to this story - no motivation, no goal. Things just happen." Congratz you just described the life of nearly half the planet and reviewed their life story.
    1. While I don't know at which point the MC leaves his little sister without telling anyone to protect her, there were probably some circumstances. Did he know trustworthy people? Was she conscious? Did he have something urgent to do? Etc

Read up to 300+ chapters, well, this novel has many similar to ATG and Shura Wrath aspects, but strength system pretty much too simple and, in more then half of the story behind, MC has only 4 lvlups, moreover battles mostly not very excited. In beginning novel is interesting even on the story alone, but, because Ye Chen has MANY girls, plot progression is not very fast and you soon can find it a little boring. And another point - in this novel almost all enemies not doing anything objectively... more>> wrong and some of them even good people, but in any case they would be destroyed by MC. <<less

Awesome novel!!! It's a xianxia but not an ordinary one, the story has it's mystery and depth. I've only read 34 chapters, so I can't say much more, but those 34 chapters were very enjoyable to read. Edit chapter 200: It became just a standard novel where MC is a constant underdog. Also female beside him much more often fights more than him and is much more powerful as well. He himself is meh, has to depend on girls, items, luck. Also, the mystery part is not that much of... more>> a mystery anymore. I noticed that sometimes Chinese authors drag some mystery plot for too long and readers kinda stop caring about it. This is perfect example of that. <<less

[Edit:]

This is just bad. The MC is a lecherous Gary Stu with zero self awareness. In any other story, he would be the naturally OP faux-perfect villain the hardworking hero would have to overcome. Instead he is our protagonist, and the author completely spoils the rest of his otherwise somewhat intriguing story by trying to frame him as a kind, heroic individual instead of the callous, bloodthirsty, lecherous know-it-all with a hair trigger he actually is. Truly a shame.

[Original review:]

I refrain from rating it for now, but I just... more>> honestly don't get the amount of praise this story seems to receive. Not that it's bad, but I would say it's a stretch to call it really good either. The pacing it way too fast, yet at the same time half of the story seems to be either people info-dumping the worldbuilding and politics to the MC, or the MC lecturing other characters about the same politics he had no idea about a few days before. Not only that, the actual text is extremely verbose to the point it verges on purple prose.

Finally, while I am quite fine with OP main characters, the MC here feels like a textbook Marty Stu. He is super-handsome, super-powerful, every pretty girl seems to immediately get attached to him, if not outright fall in love with him on first sight, he gets away with several capital offenses using nothing but refuge in audacity, he is a perfect judge of character, psychoanalyzing people he just met to the point where he figures out the personality and entire backstory of a character in five minutes, and he even deduces a huge conspiracy related to a noble family in an empire he didn't even know existed a couple of days before. This is almost self-insert fan-fiction level of Stu-ness, and it makes the entire story feel nonsensical.

Again, I am not rating this yet, as there is a chance all of this would make sense given a couple dozen more chapters, but as of now, I am just really baffled by the score this novel received. <<less

This novel is a very good read, highly recommend to give it a go. The start of the novel is very good, hooked me in right away within the first 10 chapters. Novel slightly dropped a bit in quality near the 2/3 mark but overall a good story and the ending was fine, no anguish, no left out girls that didn't make the harem, no missing plot holes none that I could think of at least as well as the other people commenting in the last chapter. Overall I recommend... more>> you to give this a read.

9/10 Rating

Only complaint is:

Spoiler

MC can only have one child. Which is fine but I would like it if all or at least some of the harem members could of had a child with the MC.

[collapse]

Another classic mars novel containing:

  • Large Harem
  • MC reincarnated into another body
  • Godly artifacts
  • Loli's everywhere that somehow end up in mc's harem

Not so bad FOR THIS GENRE OF NOVEL that represent what's Chinese men's desire - xianxia p*rn harem.

First good : not a typical Chinese novel which most authors usally tried pretty hard to fill millions of boring words before the boring end. The novel ends at 550+ chapter! The very atypical one.

Second good : it has the good openning act, rather-good plot. The author realized his mistake immediately. So he wrote the consequences as boring as much as possible and ended it quickly with -very-boring ending. All within 500+ chapters.

Third... more>> good : it's not typical & ultra-boring xianxia genre of the same period. Most alike novels copy other (original) succes novels plot/act/scene/dialogue/etc. This one is not. Even the harem development is not. Though most females are one (or zero) dimension (with sub-zero IQ) and too much boring, some are not. Some is very outstanding but her time of existence is very short (the female General). There are word filling chapters about the zero-existence female (his fiancé from.. Earth) too. The pimp author has long line of sluts waiting to be served to the MC and Chinese h**ny men paid readers)

Forefront of myriad negatives. The 18+ scene is very boring. I am not against such scene. But it's so boring. Reading this scences is not different from watching generic grade C p*rn movie while masterbating your left little toe. Are Chinese men readers so impotent that need low grade p*rn to stimulate their mind ?

These scenes may drive away many potential readers. So if one doesn't like low grade 18+ scene, and his brother still strong, one'd skip that chapter. You don't lost anything.

Highly recommended novel for

pre-impotent reader. You need no brain to follow the author.

i think that MC are really cunning and well prepared to crush his enemy, well~~ because I prefer OP chara, this novel really made me enjoy whole story from beginning to the end.

And the last that I like in this novel is his past memories that slowly and certainly revealed that made me happy, sad, and angry when MC in the turning point~~

The novel itself is a fun read with a mysterious MC whose past and origin we don't know. That I don't like is how easily the girls get attached to him and some of the borderline pedo moments with his adoptive sisters.

Spoiler

His sister is feeding him water while he is unconscious and that itself isn't bad but she is a 10 y/old and she takes the water from a lotus leaf, then drinks it and then gives it to him mouth to mouth while the author is describing this little girls soft tongue and lips

[collapse]

Spoiler

I would give this novel at least 4 stars if not for those pedo moments and the terrible translation team. They translate 4 chaps a month and it wouldn't be a big problem if it was one chapter per week but they are giving us chapters at the end of the month. Now they were on an almost 4 months hiatus without explanation and deleted my comment when I asked them about it. The translation quality is good though with few mistakes.

[collapse]

If you don't mind the pedo moments and the slow and unreliable translators this is a good read. <<less

A lot of really high reviews, some even comparing this favorably to A Will Eternal; I tried to get through it but was severely disappointed. There is no tension to this story at all, it flows well but that's all. I never once felt the MC was in real trouble, and as far as I can tell from his attitude neither did he. The forced mystery of amnesia was interesting, but quickly got old as it became apparent this was just the way the author would slowly reveal yet more... more>> layers of OP to the character. Looking at this author's other works this is all unsurprising, this seems a slightly higher quality of the same. I wish I had checked first.

I enjoy this story because there are lot of different genres mixed in: comedy, romance, mystery, action, etc. This is a clear representation of real life. We may have ups and downs in our lives, but we experience love and silly moments, and sometimes we may experience action whether in verbal or physical arguments. And we don’t always know everything.

The main character is arrogant, to the point that he sometimes has overestimated himself and underestimated his opponents. However, he possesses somewhat of an omniscient knowledge and quick thinking (and I... more>> guess luck too), so he can quickly change situations for the better (for himself). As a result, opponents who underestimate him are in for quite a shock. He’s evidently overpowered and the ‘perfect’ man (minus the fact that he’s a womanizer), which explains all the females flocking to him (polygamy) and his arrogance (yes, it’s justified – I mean if you had all these badass powers, you’d be arrogant too). If you like OP MCs, this novel is for you.

There is a main plot: the MC’s amnesia obviously drives him to want to know who he is and his past, as well as the past of some other characters. There are various subplots and currently where the translated chapters are, the subplot deals with his mistaken identity.

There is a lot of character building and world building. You literally come across new information about someone or something in every chapter. Although I can understand world building in later chapters, adding new information about characters who have been there since the first chapter doesn’t sit well with me. It comes off as if the author decided they wanted to do this in the future chapters and to set that up they’ll make this MC or character change. It’s not random, but it isn’t structured well in my opinion. I also think relationships are established too fast. I can understand love at first sight, or lusting after insanely beautiful women... but becoming adoptive siblings over a small encounter is too much.

I think novel is written for those who enjoy reading novels about OP MCs, with a mix of several genres, where fantasy and reality intersect. <<less

Up to chap. 43

I love the story as the pace isn't too fast nor is it too slow. The plot is simple and easy to read and yet interesting enough to catch your attention for more. The MC is not too OP that it overhelmed the rest of the side characters. The slow unveiling in fact make it a bit more unpredictable unlike other common stories of this genre.

Review as of chapter 12.

Spoiler

It starts out with a boy waking up from a ten years slumber. He remembers barely anything. Meets the people in the 'village' where he was in during his sleep. Then, a young girl appears. She's an outcast due to her hair color which is white (reason explained in novel, don't wanna spoil too much) and her ruined face which has long scars in a X shape. The MC is intrigued by her and then goes to talk to her. After finding out that she is similar int he aspect of not remembering much, he decides to take her as his sister to protect her.

[collapse]

Read the spoiler for short description. Honestly, it seems promising, but I can't really judge much since it's only translated up to chapter 12 as of now. However, I'm looking forward for more. It definitely has potential. As for whether or not it will be good, we shall see...

I wrote a review and Opera Browser sabotaged me, deleting everything when it was 90% done. I can't be arsed to rewrite it, but I decided to make a short summary for yall.

This novel is a poor man's Otherworldly Evil Monarch.

  • similar plots, but with more focus on young master, no assassin stuff
  • schemes, powerups, pretending to be weak, actual weakness
  • worse buildup for harem members in general
  • but better handling of relationships in particular. OEM only dealt with them until "wedding" and then was clueless on how to proceed.
Setting is generic but okay.... more>> Cultivation very vague, though. Nice that we have some mysteries.

Plot starts sh*t (first several dozen chapters - it really is some random crap man), then gets better and stays that way, but that eventually gets boring too (after 250-350 chapters of it).

MC is okay, but quite a Gary Stu. He's more of a chad than a beta, so that's good, but he's too good in too many things and author always abuses "he's from Earth, it's his second life" deus ex machina to explain it.

Harem is okay, I guess. We got a nice buildup for a few love interests. We were shown clearly why they liked MC and why MC liked them. Well, some love interests were quite an asspull because they didn't get a good buildup at all. The author isn't afraid of writing about what happens after MC gets together with a girl. However, he does often let harem members fade out of sight so that he can focus on other love interests.

Author is a siscon pe*vert. It's really cringe how he forces a "sister" into the story at the beginning. Fortunately, it gets better later because he learned from that debacle and because it's easier to accept it with a precedent.

Secondary characters aren't good or bad. They are at an acceptable minimum.

We have different translators, and active translation ceased. Quite a few mistakes in those translations, and asian hobby or whatever has deleted some chapters (they seem to be available only on Patreon). Another website (I think it was wuxialeague) is total garbage that cut chapters into big pieces and mixed them to create more chapters. There's a lot of missing content as well, including s*x scenes (oh, the outrage). You can read on novelhi (if I remember correctly) if you don't mind MTL, it's somewhat readable and they have all chapters until the last one there.

I don't recommend this story in particular, but I also have no reason to tell you not to read it. Just brace yourself for a difficult, tr*sh beginning. <<less

Well where do I start. It is a serie with a lot of similarity to Against the God, with less distractions. If you know than prepared for a emotional rollercoaster although smaller scale than ATG, the action is full pact and the romance is really well done, more than the mess of the early to mid stage ATG I was really hooked when I read it love the female leads as they were so likable the Loli are fine too but what hooked me is the romance the action... more>> itself is really good and the fight scene make you cheer for him.
