I think this author has some amnesia or something. So fickle minded. He wants to draw the plot to from A to B. There is something the MC want to get there. Next he changed the description of the purpose.

Many many times. It's kinda frustrating when the author does that.

Other than that, this novel is good to pass time. Not too good, not too bad. Just ok. Can fast read to avoid all the bs. But cannot binge read.

Well, it’s annoying read so far. Jumping ideas, not focused, monotonous plots, confusing side characters, overly repetitive with ridiculous explanations - made me think whether I was reading a dictionary or a novel. The plot, honestly, nothing fresh. It could become a good reading material, but it wasn’t.

It just keeps repeating, every time the MC does something and someone get angry at him the point switch on one of the spectators who just think and no one explain anything and then they get beaten by him.

Usual perfect opportunities, strange coincidences etc.

Its good, but overly detailed, too many pages explaining, and wth, are there no females in this world, even his mother is "unknown mother". Did she die at sea and no one care, or at birth... no explanation ever I'm on pg 280. Usually auctions have aleast a pretty woman, nope old dude, not a single female mage, not even an old lady. all the cousins are male so far, elders all dudes, teachers all dudes, not even a random hoe running bye...o shit, nevermind, had it on audible page... more>> 277 when I first hear the world 'she', first female character coming up <<less

This novel is written by an emotionally stunted idiot. There are no intelligent characters in a story about mages. Not warlocks or bards or sorcerers but mages/wizards. The point of mages/wizards is that they are students of magic and seeking ever greater knowledge but these people couldn't do addition if placed If the real world. I will never understand how dumbass authors will try to write something, trying to look intelligent but ultimately fail and decide to publish it in any fashion. It makes the ln and cn novel sectors... more>> seas of waste with only a few gems worth note. Of all the novels I've read I have finished less than ten because they are almost all terrible and not worth your time. This is another one of the ones where you will waste your time and it will be one of the regrets on your deathbed. <<less

If you want to read this, I highly recommend it, but don’t think too much about the plot. While the author does a wonderful job with exposition and world building, the plot, however repeats itself with a new cast of characters every so often. If you want to read a novel with a great plot full of twists and turns, this isn’t the novel for you. But if you’re looking for something to read on the train to work and want to marvel at the amount of effort the author... more>> has put into designing the history of the land of Noscent, then I would wholeheartedly recommend this ln <<less

The novel starts with a good and exciting setting but all that is thrown out of the window once the MC has at least 20 chapters dedicated to face slapping. Here's the cycle of events:

  1. MC encounters danger/opportunity/young master.
  2. MC overcomes all odds and is OP enough to smack everyone in the face.
  3. Villains are not resigned, so they plot, fail, and face slapped again.
  4. Villians then start bootlicking the MC to repent.
  5. When Villians see another young master who wants to mess around with MC, the ex-Villians don't warn the young master that the MC is too OP and instead say: "Oh you can't mess with this guy, you really don't", and they leave it a that.
  6. Young master doesn't believe them.
CYCLE REPEATS FOR 1000 CHAPTERS!

The author didn't flesh out the plot, where at... more>> times he introduces items so OP that his only way to deal with them is to casually make it so that the MC never use them again. For instance, in chapter 150, MC fights in a tomb to obtain a samsara eye to cultivate years in mere days. MC only uses the eye for ten chapters, leaves and never looks back. You'd see similar plot holes all over with characters being introduced and chapters wasted on them only for the MC never to meet them again or mention them now and then.

Do not read. This novel is promising but needs a complete rewrite to be enjoyable. If you want to read this at all costs, I highly recommend reading the first 600 chapters as it goes downhill from then on. <<less

I like it, while it is by no means the best novel I have read, I like the world and the story does generally keep my interest most of the time.

Overall I thought the story and the characters were fun and entertaining. I found the world and the lore to be quite interesting and the slight bit of mystery to the history of the world kept me reading. However, there is one very big turn off to this novel, and that is the antagonists. If you can imagine a character with their arrogance turned up to 10 and their intelligence turned down to 1, that's about 75% of the people the MC interacts with. It gets old very fast. Also,... more>> another note, I somehow only noticed this like halfway through my reading, but there are almost no female characters. It's like women don't even exist in this world, kind of strange, but just thought I would mention it. <<less

Actually despite gripes from other reviewers, the first few hundred chapters were not bad (though as others have indicated been strange - no female characters). Actually, the MC (is not always) trigger happy, and happy to mend bridges, which is welcome.

But a 250 chapter side quest to a side quest just broke me.

200 chapters later, in the middle of war, a sudden sidequest appears. I can't be bothered. I'll just skip all chapters from here. Dropping another star from the rating.

A bad mistake, a really bad cliche, it was a good read at the start, good potential for long novel, but later I regret cuz the MC is an airhead in very bad way, an airhead in comical way was better but this one really, villains keep on spearing, that's good, but villains with useless motivation or for the sake of making the MC badass, but wtf, villains are completely c*ckroach or even at later they seem to change to a useless character that the MC spared, there are characters... more>> that need to die asap but MC keep on neglecting them. E.g. A villain appeared, introduced at a certain chapter 150, but later will be killed around 500 but its useless anymore, a useless villain appeared chapter 170 spared and become MC worshiping around 200. <<less

Hello! For those who read the review before the work, I want to write these words - please do not waste your time on this. You will not see anything new in it and do not read any unique thoughts. This is a very boring and useless work. You can easily skip 20-30 chapters and understand that nothing has changed. Dialogues at the level of "quarrel between two schoolchildren", always and everywhere, at any moment in time, for any characters. The story itself may seem like something good, but only... more>> at first glance, the more you read, the more it becomes clear that you were deceived and in the end there will be an incredibly boring and s*upid ending. I have read quite strong and weak works, and I can say with confidence that there is no catharsis and will not be here. The monotony and simultaneous omniscience and s*upidity of the main character is expressed in his behavior and dialogues. The limitations of the author and his meager knowledge are pronounced in each new character. Enemies of the main character, just narrow-minded, mentally ret*rded, patients of a mental hospital, hard of hearing and visually impaired in addition. There is not a single antagonist as such. I strongly do not recommend reading, even for acquaintance and expansion of horizons. Just a waste of time. <<less

It is commendable that up to chapter 159, there has not been a single female character introduced. It's probably the first novel to take such approach!

The best part is probably the first chapter. It should've just ended with MC who didn't reincarnate with the world that got wiped out :)

There are toooooo many ranks for a mage/wizard plot, face-slapping moments, all people are not too bright and character behaviors as well as situations are recycled over and over and over again.

A lack of females caused an imbalance of yin and yang destroying the world.

The start of the novel is really bad. 50% of the chapter is just repetitive boosting on how he is the greatest because he is 30000 years from the future. This goes on till about chapter 120, after that it's a decent read and has a good pacing. Unfortunately around chapter 400 the pacing gets super dragged out. I wished the arc to finally conclude but everytime it looked liked it's ending some randome things pop up... more>> and it gets dragged on for another 50 - 200 chapters again and again.

All of Mafa's enemy's are mentally handicapped. This is not a joke. In any other chinese novel those people wouldn't live past three chapters. They are arrogant, unreasonable and ignorant. The only reason they are still alive because their schools will act like you f*cked their mother, sister, wife and daughter in front of them. The villians imagination is limited to a blatant threat or some made up reason framing him to get his stuff/kill him. Nothing else.

super slow pacing, retared villians, bland characters 2/5. <<less

This story is pretty much the same when it comes to plot as most wuxia novels out there set in a cultivation world except in this case everyone uses swords or magic, mostly magic, instead of cultivating. Now what does set the story apart, but to be honest is what at least for me puts the story out of whack is the simple fact as to how the story is portrayed and delivered.

To give an example and a small spoiler, pretty much 60-70% of the story for at least the... more>> first 150+ chapters is almost only about how people around the MC looks down on him and/or tries to act against him only for it to blow up in their face.

I am entirely truthful when I say that in an average of 10 chapters 6-7 of the those are from the point of view of someone other then the MC usually the person looking down on him. It's also almost always the same routine 1-3 chapters of the person looking down on and bad mouthing the MC either directly or in their thoughts only for another 1-3 chapters be about how they are oh so regretful for not recognizing Mt Tai.

Now this could be funny if done sparingly but when the whole story is pretty much the same and it's mostly done from the point of view of some idiot first downplaying the MC and then shitting their pants out of fear over and over. It get's kind of boring. The plot armor is also fairly thick in the this story, but compared to most other stories it instead really thick for the "bad guys", with either the MC just letting them leave all the time so they can come back again, or something happening like a knock on the door and someone saving the bad guys. It kind of just feels like lazy writing how a character that feels to have outlived their purpose in the story after about 6 chapters is saved by plot armor or some silly reason only to prolong their relevance to the story for at least 20+ chapters.

One point that I realized after a while in this story which I find kinda weird is that in all the chapters I've read not a single female character have been introduced or even mentioned in the story. I kid you not when I say that every single character introduced whether it was a mage, guard, receptionist, merchant, mercenary, alchemist or what not they are all male. In the 150+ chapters I've read only twice and only in a short part have female "characters" been introduced once was illusionary ghosts who were resolved within a few lines, or a blood banshee that was introduced and killed within a single chapter I believe. Except for that the story is a complete sausage party, and no I don't require romance, romantic subplot, harem or what not to enjoy a story I just find it weird when the whole story is completely made up of men. <<less

This is a pretty boring story. There's no real challenge. The hero finds a cheat item, uses it to resolve a problem, and repeats the process. He's way too strong and the nearest disaster seems to be decades or centuries away so the story doesn't have a sense of urgency. There's very little details about the world so the author just pulls random bits out of thin air whenever he needs a new challenge or solution.
