Xuan Luo has no recollection of his past. The only thing that can identify him is the jade around his neck.

But ever since he had opened the mysterious book from the forest, his strength has multiplied and a current has been running through his body. Strangely enough, the current running through his body resembles the faint current from his jade.

Who is he? What is the connection between his jade and the book?

I wonder who categorized Zui Wu Dao as xianxia... as of v2 c43, it feels like wuxia for me. Well, it’s a mediocre wuxia and there's some sort of spiritual strength involved, but I didn’t see a shred of immortality so far, so I’m pretty sure it’s not xianxia (or do I misunderstood something here?)

It’s important to understand it because if you go to read this novel with the expectation to see instant cultivation genius or overnight OP MC that were a dime a dozen in xianxia/xuanhuan, you’ll be... more>> disappointed. The MC worked hard for a long time and couldn’t even easily defeat local gangsters. Despite of his fortuitous discovery, he was just a weakling who strive to be stronger.

However, the weakness of this novel mainly lies not on the MC, but on the author. The characterization is a bit iffy; as he wrote the MC easily dismissed the disappearance of his close friend at one point, but grew frantic at another point of the story...”Is he loyal or not? Be consistent please, ” or so I wanted to say...

The problem with consistency also went beyond characterization, and trampled upon plots and world building as well.

But I feel this story has potentials. Many thanks for the translator. Probably we will need more chapters to see if everything that has happened will come into place at some juncture in the future (and who knows if the xianxia part will come later). For now, I rated it as 3. <<less

Read up to v2c4. I'm still tentatively reserved about it. Plot seems to go a bit too fast past for my liking without real character development. Boy wakes up w/ amnesia, and gets adopted and 5 years later he happens to find a special book, and suddenly wants to go join a clan to learn more martial arts... and that's all in just a couple of chapters. It might be better if the author and slowed the pace much more instead of throwing all the usual stereotypical plot devices out... more>> in just a hand few chapters. Everything is so fast past its like a summary and no character/world depth. MC asks his best friend to join him on his journey, and friend just says ok without real thought. MC saves a girl, then she just suddenly follows MC, and he's like OK. Then off they go. <<less
