Kubei was just an ordinary pencil and button pusher working a day job, hating his boss and making horrible speeches when one day he fell asleep after pushing an all-nighter. When he woke up, he was bound to a chair, facing three creepy robed women and in a body way too young and way too weak to be his own. As he slowly came to, he realized that he was no longer in the same universe as he was before. He had teleported to the Kingdom of Helius, where an all-powerful church rules its lands and wages war against the elusive group known only as Mages. Armed with an incredibly cocky neural interface that just won’t shut up and his own sheer wit, our MC will find himself not just fighting to survive, but maybe even something bigger than himself.

This is the best chinese MAGE novel that I have read. The novel has excellent writing, plotting, and great humor. It makes fun of other wizard novels and novels where the protagonist has OP cheats in an entertaining way. It is better than The Wizard World, and much, much better than Warlock of the Magus World.

Writing and plotting is excellent. There are plots within plots, and even the MC doesn't know all of them. It is at least 10 times better than other two mage novels I mentioned above. There is plenty of intrigue and clever people, this keeps things interesting.

The cheat that the MC has is hilarious - a talking computer inside his brain which only likes to trash talk the MC. MC isn't a selfish retard like TWW or WMW. He cares about his family.

In the end, it is still only a power fantasy. No character development, no romance.

Recommendation: If you like Wizard novels, then certainly read this one. Note: This novel is a parody of other novels, but with much better writing and superior plotting.

Other recommendations: Ze Tian Ji, Deathsutra, AWE.

First off, note the parody tag in the tags. It is important. The main character basically lacks most of the knowledge otherworld travelers seem to have for no reason. He doesn't know how to make soap, gunpowder, he isn't somehow a gourmet and for the most part if an ordinary person wouldn't normally know something, he can be counted upon to not know it either.

His cheat isn't the best (though it saves his life from time to time, so not the worst either), and basically everything is over the... more>> top, most of the people are dumber, more cunning, more vicious, or more arrogant than you'd normally expect. In a ten point scale on personal and personality attributes in this world, it seems you'll never find a 5, but is more of an inverted bell curve. But as I said, note the parody in the tags. It is important.

Various readers hate the main character, I don't. He's genre savy, hard working, reasonably cunning, and only vicious in situations where his ability to continue living is at stake. In the start he was an everyman, neither successful nor a failure, going though his everyday life. He ends up in a situation where there is a better than 90% chance of dying and lives through it. He isn't always able to win, and when he can't, he uses his head. His head isn't the greatest tool, but he isn't dumb as some would claim. Given he has a somewhat high chance of dying about once every 3 chapters on average, he does pretty well. He does have the merit of a high ranking noble family, he also has the demerit of it. All in all, a normal person is dealt a crappy hand, but there are 2 or 3 cards, in their current configuration worthless, that might be able to turn into a good hand. He sees that and chases that small beacon of hope.

The writing in the beginning is a little lacking, but it improves a bit as time goes on. It is funny, abet in a dark way, and this guy is probably more realistic than the majority of protagonists. If I had any complaint is that he is rather lacking in the protagonist power in the beginning- it takes a while more he can make a decision that actually affects anything. At best, he manages to survive. Still, it is not a bad read. There are many things I feel that were better that I dropped before chapter 20. It's sort of fast food for the soul, not the warmest, certainly not the best, but the greasy, salty goodness is satisfying once in a while, all the same.

A brilliant premise ruined with lazy, satirical elements. Imagine a wonderfully constructed world, now imagine that the splendour this world possesses (which is eerily similar to two other stories that shant be named) is butchered in an attempt for the story to appeal to all audiences, rather than appealing to specific groups. The end product that is left is such an awful generalisation, that contrasts with the originals simply cannot but help be made. If you are curious as to these generalisations, go ahead and read, but be forewarned, for such idiocy can leave one with a blaring headache.

For those whom require specifics. Firstly, the entire premise is incredibly cliche, and common. The protagonist lost, and aimless, somehow begins to traverse the path of heroism, and Justice. Secondly, the plot advancement tools, such as the AI tool, serve as satirical devices to humanise the story further. For so called 'witty banter' to take place. Thirdly, there's Just no real character to the story, it Just feels like a story any one of millions of authors with fascination with the West would write. All in thinly veiled cover in order to imitate the success of its predecessors.

In the end why not Just read the original inspirations instead?

Artificial intelligence here seems more like the friend of MC here than an emotionless tool. Currently MC is weak and does not possess a godlike intelligence. The premise of the novel is interesting and the story is realistic. The story has a great potential for development if MC shows steady character growth. The worldbuilding is lacking as it is still early in the story. Although currently MC is being pushed around, I think it will all change as he grows stronger.

Anyways, a good novel to read and... more>> enjoy.

This novel is horrible! I hate the characters, MC is a useless cunt, Cheat is so terrible it would be better not even having one and what the hell is the point of this novel again???

When I read a novel you expect something from it like in Release the Witch you want to see a kingdom where the witchs can live in peace but here there is just nothing. The novel starts with the MC being torture to death by witchs and they are the worst people imaginable not only... more>> they treat the MC like dirty but they even backstab each other in one word they are complete animals that deserve to be hunted down.

And thats the problem the novel makes you hate the witchs from the start if this is to be fun I didnt find not even a single one of the jokes funny, I mean the MC was whiped to death by these woman because they wanted to rob his family where is the joke on this situacions.

Well later MC try learing magic but that will make the church hunt him and his family hates him plus the witchs being terrible, is there any point in joing the witch side after being torture? If this is a parody of RtW it would be much more fun if the MC was the very opposite of Roland like being in the best territory and not knowing how to make anything, isnted we got this a douche trying to be a witch after being torture to death... hilarious. <<less

The story is enjoyable with well built characters.

I find the AI system to be unique... Definitely better than WMW's AI (not the story itself. It hasn't been translated that far ahead yet).

The speech is not repetitive instead is pretty interesting. The start is a popular template screwd in a weird way but that's not a bad thing. The story has plenty of growth potential if done in the right way.

Qidian started it but I haven't experienced ads in the story yet so its still good. I just... more>> hope they don't stop translating due to some unreasonable reason. <<less

I was actually quite surprised by this novel, I was expecting a badly written Chinese novel. What I got was a very funny and well written story about a guy whose luck is like a roller coaster. Every time he finally gets to rest some trouble is brewing ready to strike.

If you want a typical story where an all powerful Chinese is eating pills, pondering daos, or seeking revenge for his face or family. This isn't that story.

This guy is a random Chinese office worker, who is randomly... more>> put in a noble's body in a kidnapping and torture situation, by mages.

Has to use what details and advantages he can gather to barely survive (did I mention he doesn't have any of that noble's memories?), only to find himself in a worse situation. He is the hated son of a noble family, and the church would have him killed if they find out anything that happened while he was kidnapped.

All while he has a half useless AI in his head, who starts gaining a personality. So while this guy is almost dying, he and the AI are having hilarious conversations in his head.

This novel is horrendous. A disjointed attempt to merge comedy via a either poorly written or poorly translated AI system with a serious transmigration. What should be an interesting premise is wrecked by incredibly poor execution. As Qidan appears to be curating any review below 3 stars on their website, 1 star is given to counteract that BS.

This is a mash up of the start of coiling dragon and warlock of the magus world that is more of a satire on why bad things keep happening to him and why he is unlucky. Rather than being hardworking and Having purpose, control and power. It's more a more lighthearted 'how am I going to get myself out of this one' gag. The A. I. Tries to act as the comic relief but I find joke overplayed and will predict that the joke saying - press 0 for a... more>> human will get repeated alot during the novel. If you can stomach the flippant use of crude words to get a laugh then you might enjoy the rest.

As for how this series will turn out, It will be up to the execution of the premise and the story. I'll assume if you have read the two aforementioned novels then you won't be missing out on much if you don't read this as its a parody. But it's early days and we will see if more tags are updated that are interesting enough.

The MC accidentally slept on his Windows 10 laptop and woke up being transmigrated into another world. Unfortunately for MC, Windows 10 main feature, the personal assistant Cortana, has been embedded into his brain.

This novel revolves around how Cortana screws the MC over and over again as the MC desperately trying to live while going against a psychopath witch and a church that like to 'cleanse' people while being the troubled heir of an aristocratic family.

The story itself is just bang average, but combined with comedic MC's interactions... more>> with Cortana, this novel makes for a decent read.

This novel is a recommended read for any die-hard fans of Windows 10, Windows Phone, Xbox console or the Halo video game series. Especially the latter. Android or ChromeOS users should instead read the 'Help! Gooogle-sensei!!' novel, which being a JP novel, is way inferior to this novel.

For iOS/MacOS users, they should read Martial God Asura for an educational 'triggering' experience.

🌟🌟🌟🌟from me as of chapter 54.

I think this is an intressting read. I read from chapter 1 to 20. The writer of this novel also uses "A. I" chip in the head like in the other novels of same concept. Except the writer wants his to be diffrent so he gave, the Artificiall intelligence chip that is imbedded in our main character, a personality. This is what makes me all plerplexed/flustered/unsettled... Because this personality of an A. I is funny and a pain in the ass at the same time.

If you are a traditionalist... more>> like me then you want the A. I to be helpful. In movies and other books, A. I software often do not have personalities. They calculate, and formulate awnsers with reason and within obtainable boundaries of knowledge and common sense.

This A. I here is supposed to be a fused one of a 5 year old laptop with a mobile phone and it has a personality. And so this personality is actually an annoying dumb software with satir. Which is funny. But sometimes it gets too much, really it gets too much...

Anyway enough of the A. I maybe things will improve in the long run. I do recommend people give this novel a read and see if you like it or not. I find this one intressting. <<less

Since this story is new I won't give it 5 stars but the story so far has been really good. It is not a run of the mill story about the MC being OP right off the bat with some magical power. The system or (neural interface) is not much help to him so he is not very OP. The situations remind me a lot of "Release that Witch" but in this instance he can actually learn magic.

I don't know why people are giving this a bad rating. I... more>> guess they expect him to get every he needs right off the bat; It's not going to be like that. This is a harsh and real reality in this story.

Negative marks

*It's similar to many other novels whit similar team but depending on how the story flows it Don't meen it is negative in say.

*Some reactions to things I would like to see more shoke and panic for example when they realise they are in a another world but this is a problem in many novels in this changera but still not a big minus

*story 4 stars (So far can change as it develops still early and not many chapters

*MC 3 stars still unsure about MC development

The story tries to be original with a lot of comedy mixed. Thanks to that I can't tell if the dumb one is our MC, his "cheat" system, or perhaps both. Not a bad read so far but needs more chapters to judge it as the translated content feels more like a prologue.
