I have nothing but despair, bitter loathing, and praise for this work!

Really more vicious than Heyi Shengxiao. It's suspenseful, happy, sad, painful, beautiful, and poignant. Every chapter I read past that turning point only robbed me of my strength more and more. I've always been inclined to revenge plots, if my extensive list of reincarnated heroines for revenge isn't enough evidence, however, what I got in this novel... well, serves me right I guess. I've always hated second chances. Once wronged, never again. But this! This...

This is clearly a different... more>> case of 'second chance', if you can ever call it second chance, and the layer of angst is clearly on another level. Rolling Love is on a league of its own, a beautifully crafted novel showing the dire repercussions of revenge, detailing the struggles of two people about their feelings and pride.

Overall, the novel is good, if not too melancholic and angsty you wish you could transmigrate inside, bang these two people and force them to kiss and makeup for good. I'm quite saddened only a few reviewed and rated, and hoped it would get some notice it deserved soon.

Hats off for successfully breaking my heart a billion times. </3

[EDIT] I initially said this was more vicious than Second Master and Heyi Shengxiao combined. I take that back. Second Master, esp. with its good resolution and ending, was more heart-wrenching imo. This ended on a good note but the resolution looked quite lacking. For MC to go back just like that...?

If only author was able to sustain the emotional delivery of the characters, this would've been really great!

Then again, in the end, some matters felt rather 'rushed.' Rating it at 4.4, rounding down to a solid 4. :> Still worth a read overall. <<less

This was a reasonably satisfying read if you like angst and secrets. In most angsty romances, the misunderstandings arise because the main characters are incapable of communicating their feelings, sometimes for no reason at all. Rolling Love succeeds because it clearly gives us a reason for why they cannot talk to each other. While there are still a lot of instances where you feel like slapping the ML for being a jerk, the rare insights we get into his thoughts definitely make him appear more fragile and pitiful.

The novel is... more>> engaging for the most part and you can really feel the attraction between the main leads. However, the last chapter was a frenzy and it felt too formulaic. The epilogue was sweet and made up for a lot of frustration I felt in the last few chapters. But!

Spoiler

I wish the author had spent more time on describing the effort the two put into their relationship after the female lead decided to go back to to him. Considering what the two have gone through, it would have been interesting to see how the male lead reacted to her return and how they worked through their issues. One chapter would have done it.

[collapse]

In all a decent piece; Miumiu's insights were also interesting to read. <<less

Too early to tell, but the premise gives me Innocent Man/Nice Guy vibes. The female protagonist seems to be pigeonholed into being portrayed as a villain due to her sister (?) 's manipulations. And now that man brimming with vengeful schemes comes and uproots her as a succesor.

Just finished reading the whole series. I want to thank the translator for her wonderful work! Without the translations we would not be able to read this story.

The other reviews talk about the angst, and although the angst is pretty high, it's not as bad as A Mistaken Marriage Match: Mysteries in the Imperial Harem. That novel I had to stop reading towards the end due to my heart breaking. However, in Rolling Love, the angst is manageable and I was able to handle it throughout the series.

Onto the characters:... more>> I disliked both of them. Yeah, it's weird I read the whole novel and even enjoyed it, but I did not like the character. I understood why they were the way they were and why they did the things the way they did. I did not have to like it but I understood the reason for it. I think towards the end, I forgave the ML but the FL was not redeemable for me due to the way the author set up the ending.

The story has a happy ending but I think I would have been fine with even a sad ending in this novel since the ending at kind of anti-climatic. The issue was resolved literally in the last chapter and kind of felt rushed. It would have been more believable to see a sad ending based on the culmination of all the previous chapters as apposed to the happy ending we got.

I would still recommend this story for anyone who likes angst. It's a pretty fun read and although I'm personally unhappy about its ending, I still think many readers will enjoy it. <<less

It's the typical underhanded corporate espionage antics where 2 people who shouldn't fall in love but does it anyways. However, the pain through misunderstandings has resulted in extreme consequences of hate and revenge. Despite being only 82 chapters long, I felt that each chapter really dragged plot wise. The smut was done well and you can really feel their physical attraction between. Most of the POV is from the female lead, so her character is fleshed out.

In the end, it sort of ends on a happily ever after. However, it's... more>> a bit vague and open ended, which left me a bit disappointed. I probably would have liked it more if the finale was much more concrete. <<less

I read it for the angst but was disappointed by the ending.

I feel like the author gave the ML an illness just to make us think oh well he is pitiful so lets give him another chance and have that as a reason why the FL's emotions are shaken. 100% sure if there was no illness she would have chosen Lu Zhen. My heart breaks for him.

The author just made the FL use him as much as she wanted, gave him hope and then broke it. This character did not... more>> deserve that kind of ending. Its like the author has been playing with his emotions from start to finish.

The FL doesnt deserve any of the things that Lu Zhen did or felt for her. Either choose him or reject him in a clear-cut way! You use him when u need and u throw him when u want? I'm disgusted by the FL!

Even after the ML made her go through so many bad things she chooses him the moment she finds out he has been helping her after that and everything that the 2nd ML Lu Zhen did for her is forgotten. So infuriating!!! <<less

I'm glad it's a happy end (well, most things aren't explained & a bit open but anyway). They deserved it. After all, after everything they've been through: the pain, the cruel fate, & the deep love... They need a happy closure for it all. If not, this novel really is a tragedy.

It's heartbreaking seeing they lie. Lie to the enemies, to the person they loved most, & to their own hearts.

This novel is intense. If you just completed reading a sweet, fluffy, & heartwarming novel that made you have toothaches and want something toxic to lessen your diabetes, I recommend this. <<less

Overall I liked this story, but it could have been better. After a while, the misunderstandings between the characters felt forced. Main Characters: Strong, yet very flawed. They want to love and support each other, but through misunderstandings, their trust is broken and their relationship falls apart. World Building: Decent. It's about the fall and rise of a company as it changes hands throughout the story. I eventually of got bored of all the company fighting and wanted it to focus on their relationship instead. I found myself skipping large chunks of the chapters when they had to go to meetings, discuss business tactics, etc.
Spoiler

One of my main disappointments was that throughout all the pain, the angst, and the broken hearts, I never felt like the main leads got the ending they truly deserved. In the beginning, when they were falling in love with each other, it was sweet, but short. Because of all the secrets and the main leads not communicating with each other, their loving relationship becomes shallow and deep down there's nothing but hate and betrayal. They both clearly care and love each other even through all the lies, but the author immediately shuts it down the minute they get a slight glimpse of that happiness. I am disappointed that they never had their heart to heart talk and they never had their tearful reunion. It jumps from them being on the verge of being apart forever to half a year later when they're together and stable. For me, the main point of the angst, is when the characters reunite. All the fighting, misunderstanding, and heartbreak was worth it in the end to see them finally come together achieve that happiness, but the author has robbed me of that. I felt like throughout the 82 chapters, there was maybe 5 total where the main leads were together and happy. If not a good reunion, have more chapters that shows them together being happy.

Ending:

Spoiler

It was at the very last minute did the secretary appear to clear up all the misunderstandings. He could have said something 10+ chapters ago, but again, it felt like a forced misunderstanding to make the main characters hate each other. Even with the way the secretary showed up in the LAST chapter, the author admitted that "in forty minutes, a person had dashed from the city, had a security check and even accurately found her in the VIP room, this was a bit impossible" but they wrote him in anyways to clear everything in a few sentences at the last minute. It wasn't the main leads finally learning to be truthful with each other or themselves, it wasn't that they learned that being silent would cause misunderstandings/heartbreak, it was a f**king 3rd party, who wasn't even a main character in the story, who fixed things for them. Did she run into the hospital room and hug him filled with tears and finally admitted that they were wrong? Nope, skip 6 months and they're just chilling on the couch as if they didn't go through all this hate and mess for 60+ chapters. Saying that the ending was unsatisfying is an understatement.

[collapse]

The translator did an excellent job and worked extremely hard on this novel, so I bumped it up to a 3/5.

A good translation but I think the FL should have ended up with the second lead Lu Zheng - he did so much for her. Got a bit tired of the company politics and shenanigans. All the back stabbing and ‘dog-blood’ (the ML’s unexplained health condition for one 🙄) were a bit draggy for me.

Giving it a 4 star rating just because of a bit to heavy drama but over all this is a great story. I read all the translated novel by miumiu and this is my 2nd favorite after Nuptial in Chamber. Rolling on love is more on how the FL and ML fought to hide their true feelings because they are bound of a tragic event that happened in the past but this is a happy ending so if anyone wants to release some emotions through crying then get your tissue... more>> ready this novel has a lot of angst and will surely make u cry. A beautiful story about revenge, hatred, and love. I was surprised by the amount of time my heart broke for both the leads because of should I say, 's*upidity' or 'intensity of love they had for each other'. The angst, the fights, the secret helping, watching by the side, it is a painful story that reminded me of the K-Drama 'Secret' a bit because of all the push and pulls of the leads as if toying with each other but ultimately they were driven by love.

The female lead isn't your... more>> typical rich spoilt girl, she has a history that makes her pitiful and has the support of the reader the whole time. As for the male lead, he is a man of few words but is indeed a man who loves his woman.

Finally, the translator has done an amazing job with conveying the emotions despite this being a translation and there few snippets of insights left behind by the translator at the end of the chapters that makes you pause and focus more of the story hence you tend to enjoy the reading more as you go "Ooh that why he/she said so".

This was a satisfying read for me. After all, I binge read the whole 80+ chapters in 12 hours. <<less

To all fellow readers, Im also a reader. If you encounter this story please don't hesitate. A click of a button and you'll be on a journey to a world of angst of love and hate. For the story about modern story that I'veeever read, aside from love me if you dare, this story I raté it second place in my favorite book.

The plot is nice, no déjà vu situation much. Eventho for the first half of the story you'll feel like you love the character of female lead, after... more>> the lower half till the end you'll understand who's the most unreasonable character in the story.

I don't give a spoiled of the story because this story is short so you dont need to read spoiled or else you'll miss the detailed.

However for me the most Character lead I love and hate plus sympathy the most is ml. After all of consideration through the whole story, he's not a bad person. He's a good gentleman and reasonable one.

At least please read the story to your heart content, I hope you enjoyed. <<less

This had so much potential I’m so disappointed with mid story-ending.

The author wanted to make it too angsty unnecessarily. It killed the flow of the story. The beginning was amazing, the misunderstandings, hiding their feelings and their plans was nicely paced but after their marriage time skip the quality of the story went down.

One of the best angsty novel to read after a round of teeth breaking fluff and love.

If you're not into betrayal and revenge trope with agonizing process to redemption then you may not find this to your liking and better turn your back instead of criticizing it for what it was.

The thrill and anticipation on waiting for the breaking point and finally getting to it is pure satisfaction while the current after that tide would leave you hanging and frustrated, wondering if they'd ever get together in the end.

I personally wanted to slap the ML but he redeemed himself beautifully and tragically in the end anyway.

Well, but I still want to slap him.

The end left me kind of frustrated as it was quite a bit open... more>> ended. The epilogue made up for it but it's still really frustrating especially when I'm waiting for the confrontation and drama. Anyway, it's still a good one.

The translator did a good job, although there were some corrections, but it was understandable and you could see that the translator is passionate about doing it which I truly admire. RECOMMENDED. <<less

Although a very good novel overall as the angst is heartbreaking, it takes half the novel to get to it. And cuz of the summary you know that ML will betray so reading their lovey dove parts were sad, the whole time I was waiting for the betrayal but the novel is more about business and stocks, although it was the method of betrayal it was still really boring skimming through those parts.

The villain are delt with and the sisters in jail which is nice since she was a b*tch.

And there is a secondary lead who I honestly loved by the end more than the actual ML and wish MC chose him at the end but noooo first love of the novel wins, wish he at least got his own good end.

Woah... This was really intense. I've hardly read any novel that left me so frustrated while enjoying a great storyline. I like the fact the author is very visual and is very detain oriented as it enables us to be fully immersed in the characters' lives.

Once trust is broken or once someone is betrayed, it is so difficult to mend things when in addition we are dealing with two proud characters who hardly communicate their real feelings. This is one Of The things that got me the most frustrated.

I highly... more>> recommend the novel because though there's quite some drama, the plot is interesting and different from cliche stories that revolve around the same theme. <<less

Man, this gets more tiring and harder to binge-read towards the end because it's so intense.

At the beginning and to date, I have no idea why the ML would fall for the FL. She is a bad-tempered, loud-mouthed drama mama. In order to read on, readers just need to accept that they are together and that he is madly in love with her. Otherwise, one can't help questioning his bad taste.

From the middle and towards the end, as the corporate espionage and the way they used each other played out,... more>> the writing improved and I got more invested into the story. But although its angsty, it seems too much over nothing much. No idea why she would do so much to try to "save" the company, given the backdrop of her own interest, the cold relationship with her dad, and the fact that she was only working for two years with the company.

But I felt the author's writing seem to improve because there was a development of both an external and internal plot going on. I think the cruel and callous external interactions was a nice mirror to the internal hurts and misunderstandings of the characters. It all seems bleak and futile. I don't know if the author can resolve it nicely.

Plot: 4/10 (early part of book) to 6.5 / 10 (from around the middle to c67)
Characterisation: 3/10 (early part of book) to 7/10 (from the middle to c67)
Translation: 7.5/10 (quality) 9.5/10 (reliability)

I think one thing I liked about the translator is that for all of her stories but the latest one, she had been very reliable and consistent in her translation - posting regularly and completing her novels.

Recommendation: Currently, I'll recommended it, but probably at the mid-point of your "To-read" list.

For myself, I'll take a short break of a day or so, and return to this story later. <<less

This is definitely one of the best angsts romance novels I have read. It is not too long of a novel and the emotions of the characters, their thoughts and actions, they really hit me in my heart!

I didn't quite get all the drama about companies and what-not. It got be a bit draggy in a few of the chapters with all that. I also wished that there were more chapters in ML's POV so it would be easier to understand him. And the ending could have been longer, more... more>> detailed and I wanted to know how they patched up instead of a 6 months skip.

I wanna thank the translator for this gem of a novel! Thank you for all your hard work!! I love it!!

But compared to some novels I dropped the angst is tolerable I mean I did not throw anything while reading this just some tears were shed ?

The ending is not really satisfying I expected more since the stiry has great plot byt the end just left me hanging and asking questions.
