Unlike normal xianxia novel, dog eat dog hardcore mode, this one is a little mild. MC return to the past inside game and start learning martial arts from zero. Reason unknowns. There are no lvl up in character but skill learned will upgrade with exp gained. Truly game element

Its like a person being reincarnated into a Wuxia Novel but its actually a game. Though I don't think Gaming and Cultivating mix well, this story is pretty good so far. The MC plans and the scenarios the Author comes up with are nice.

I really hate the fact that once he reincarnated, he started killing cold blood. Dude you were playing a game before and this is real life.. So its pretty s*upid saying he has 'experience'.

I still think its to soon to give a full review but so far... more>> so good. The Romance is really cheap! You already know you wont like it! At first seeing a Tomboy oujousama cultivator was hella cool in CNs but I realize now how overused it is! If your going to write it, then do it right. It was really over a stretch with her introductory! [Exaggerated] <<less

Started strong but slowly fell, and seeing the reviews of others who got far into the novels, they have the same thoughts.

The first few arcs is very interesting and unique, it would pull you in and want more, I would even rate it 5 star based on that, but sadly, it can't escape the curse of mediocrity.

After 250 chapters, it started to get stale, the tropes that exist in mediocre novels of the same genre started to appear, the chapters became more and more repetitive than it already is, and... more>> the story became something you'll see in almost every chinese novels.

It slowly lost its charm and uniqueness after 350 chapters, it completely fell into mediocrity. All the developments are something you'll see in other novels with nothing unique.

Spoiler

- An enemy that could've been killed at the start was able to escape even though they could've been killed, and in the end, became the final villain.

- The MC being torn between two girls, chose to marry one of them and etc. Etc. They got separated, then the MC got married to the other girl before he finally finding the first wife. Let's be real, this "separation" sh*t happens in almost every chinese novels.

- New continent, have better cultivation advancement, experts are everywhere, but they have weaker foundation. How many novels have this? Everyone of them, if not a realm, it's a continent.

- Characters that got reduced into minor characters destined to die like chickens afterwards (lile the elders), worse, it only increased the chapters by 5 at most, trying to make it dramatic but failing since it all happened "just because it could happen, " like the author never thought deeply about it and just used them as small plot device so MC could go all mu*derous and vengeful, which ends in just 1-2 chapters.

Initial impression after 24 chapters. Not rated yet.

Martial Hero Rebirth is like xuanhuan/xianxia with strong game elements. Plot-wise, it actually reminds me of The Gamer manhwa. Out of blue, the MC gained cheat-like ability to be stronger through game system, like gaining skills from books, increase skill expertise by grinding, exchanging experiences, and such. The difference is that Martial Hero Rebirth MC got transported into a game he previously mastered. He's cool-headed from the get go and is able to make strategically advantageous decisions without acting arrogant. It's a... more>> fun read, but nothing's much happened so far and I'd love to read more of it. <<less

A god player from a hardcore VRMMO transmigrates into the game world that is a martial arts/cultivation setting.

It's not original, but it's entertaining. People like battle frenzy fantasy novels and this is one of those. Like action movies from the 90s, brainless fun.

Where this falls short, though, is with other cliches in Chinese Novels. Gossipers, author sucking up to the MC, gossipers sucking up to the MC, long expositions, lot of repetitions etc. There will be a lot of it, and I really mean a lot.

If the MC farts and... more>> there's not an entire page of Gossipers commenting about how strong, imposing and genius-like his fart is, please praise the sun, because it's a miracle.

Us reading constant praises to the MC who's only considered a genius because of his Cheat Game System that fastens his learning with experience points is all the more annoying. Since they are undeserving praises and merits.

In order to enjoy it more I just skip these parts so I advise you to do the same.

Volume 1 is a little slow and it tells about his life in the new Sect. Volume 2 is him walking the Jiang Hu, and things got more exciting and violent, so if it gets a little boring, try to hang on until Volume 2.

So far, the powers are more mild and not the mountain shattering techniques of most Wuxias/Xuanhuans, with more focus on martial arts than cultivation.

Overall I like it, but can't give it too much of a good grade because of excess of these annoying fillers. Also, thank you to the lastest translator who is fast and good at it. You rock, Sir! <<less

To be honest.... this novel is not good. Plot holes everywhere.... in each chapter there are at least 5 things that you never learnf how it happened. Like... just lime puff... a dude calling MC senior brother when he just joined the sect and you dont know how they meet at all....... the redaction is a mess and the flow is interrupted a lot

It is excellent (there is everything in the story : level system, cultivation, fight, romance, some drama and a few arc) but after reading to the end it is also disapointing (i don't like the ending), the author could have done a lot of things better in the story (too much repetitive fight and the plot is narrow)
Spoiler

Since the start to the end it is only: fight= experience point= upgrade = stronger

Overall it's a good story to read!

My impression of this is a novel that should have ended but is forced to continue.

MC is reincarnated to a game he has been playing for years. His character at the beginning is cold, ruthless, and pragmatic. As the story goes on, he becomes attached to his sect and thinks of it as his home. Here he develops as a person who cares about other people while maintaining his ruthlesness against his enemies.

The plot starts with MC joining a sect and a goal to make his sect the acknowledged first... more>> and strongest sect. A good plot with nice pacing is executed until his goal is reached.

The problem is the author makes no progress as a writer. We have the MC for almost the entire story going around challenging people for duels to get combat experience. The game-elements disappear as the story goes on, retaining only the convenient upgrade system. The villains wear kid gloves and don't know how to plot. The romance is terrible, although only 2 girls are his romantic partners and not a messed up harem.

As the MC reaches the peak of his conquest and story should have ended, the world is suddenly expanded and cultivation levels increase with the entire wuxia theme somehow changing into xuanhuan theme. <<less

Mediocre, 2 or 2.5/5 (it seems like score failed to save). I wanted to read it whole, but didn't really make it.

Overall, it's not a bad story. However, there are many not-so-serious problems that add up. Moreover, it just gets boring in the long run.

First, the setting is okayish. It's basically the same wuxia setting as in manhwas like Volcanic Age and all those other Korean wuxias, though I feel like it fits a comic more than a novel. Well, the game elements ruin it somewhat if you are a... more>> wuxia fan (I'm not, but I enjoy it occasionally). Apparently it gets xianxia-ish and generally worse later if we believe other reviewers, but I didn't reach that point.

If there's one big weakness of the setting, it's that the transmigration was totally half-assed. Guy basically got isekai'd, and he was like, oh okay let's proceed. There's not even any issues for him to live in a wuxia world. Like, if I were him, I would for example still try to check time on a watch/phone out of habit, or complain that there's no toilet paper. This guy? Nothing at all. He doesn't care. Author screwed up.

The plot... well, it's good at times, weak at others. For example, I very much enjoyed when MC plotted to raise his status in his sect and carried out his plans. However, the author didn't seem to feel like bothering with such things anymore later on, despite having ample opportunity. Things got boring and easy for MC.

Martial arts are just as boring and easy for him. Okay, he was some OP player, so it's understandable that he has some foundation if the world is identical to the game (and it apparently is), but why does he have to improve so easily? Okay, normal cultivation cheats I can still understand, but why does he not struggle at all when learning martial arts he had never known? Boring. And the gaming system ends up being just upgrade system as it stops playing any significant role in other aspects.

The characters are better than plot, especially after a while of MC climbing the ladder in his sect. I like that many plots and opponents do not end with death. It makes more sense politically, and it's nice that the protagonist isn't a killing machine 100% of the time. Unfortunately, many characters are pretty shallow, and there isn't much to them aside from (often negligible) role they play in random interactions.

One disappointing part of the story is harem. It only started shaping up after a long while, and still hasn't taken shape now, but I don't like what I've seen so far. So at first the protagonist just focuses on martial arts and politics, leadership, and doesn't want to have anything to do with romance. Okay, that's fine. Great, even. However, instead of communicating it clearly, he just leaves the love interest (s) hanging and just escapes from the problem (he literally escapes). Yes, our strongest "genius" of his generation who is so OP is actually cowardly tr*sh when it comes to romantic matters. He's just turning into a beta loser, just like many protagonists in Chinese novels, and he is guilty of perpetuating that originally Japanese (but very frequently copied in Chinese novel) ret*rded trope "women scary." He's afraid of women just because they make a relatively scary face as they compete over him. My God, this is just a farce and big cringe. Compared to that, I'd rather this novel had no harem at all, or better yet no romance at all.

Not that it has much else to offer anyway, so I do not recommend reading it unless you are really bored. <<less
