@Dhaliwal, potential my ass.

Let me clarify. I love Naruto. I've read the manga, watched some anime, played Naruto games, played Naruto PBF games, researched it's whole depicted world via wikias and databooks for the sake of my own PBF game.

And when I see "anime was a masterpiece" and "he liked it for no reason at all", I just want to (ノ ゜Д゜) ノ ︵ ┻━┻

That aside, it's very poor story. I can see that already.
"Oi, Uncle, there's like two chapter atm, b*tch!"
It does not matter. I already know.... more>> Why?

- MC is "handsome" otaku, a virg*n japanese typical walking trope.
- MC is reborn in another world in a loser body trope. Check.
- Worst of it, he is a "handsome loser", who pick up girls like flowers. Yuck.
- The reason why he was thrown out was so dumb, it made me cringe.
- The "Naruto System". If it was like, he can use Naruto mechanics, and use his otaku knowledge to train himself. I'd buy that. It would be awesome. But no. He have to kill stuff (monsters etc), do quests, and he gets reward points for this and can unlock any technique and stuff from Naruto universe, without training or researching it. (ノ ゜Д゜) ノ ︵ ┻━┻
- And the final and most grave sin. It almost gave me cancer, it almost costed me my table, 'cus I was about to flip it by sheer rage and confusion. The dude, on top of that, got mature sharingan. From. The. Very. Beginning.

Believe me folks, if I could give less then one star, I would. <<less

Hello, I am current translator for this novel. I just wanted to clarify some things.

Most of the MC of chinese novel is handsome without question. There is no objection to this. And also at first they are all virg*n, what happens later, we can only see. I think that, the reason for throwing him out is not that dumb. But opinion differs.
Spoiler

also please read chapter 2 carefully, there it is already mention that he could learn ninjutsus system only by practicing hard not directly exchanging.

[collapse]

As for sharingan, nowhere in the chapter it is mention that he had awakened full mature sharingan. Read chapter 3 and you will know.

Thanks for all your review. <<less

I hate naruto. I hate its shounen bullshit, its blatant plot armor, its pathetic attempts at emotion and most of all I hate everything to do with sasuke.

That said, I love this shit. The author tho, that dude has to be on 900 levels of irony to write this lol. The plot is really dumb, but Im not here for the plot. Im here for the overly inflated xianxia cliches, dumb references, ridiculously convenient abilities, and everything else this masterpiece of ironic crapheaps looks to be.

10/10 ign would read again

Despite it's ah... use of copy*right* stuff and its acclamation for being a hardcore naruto fan; if you ignore all that, it has a decent story.

I mean, who hasn't, ever, thought of having the epic powers of a ninja from the Naruto Series??? Most people these days like those OP MCs with OP powers, then how does this not align with that??

It definitely scratches that chunnibyou itch inside of you (if you enjoy that sort of japanese culture) ;)

Okay, people, listen up. I barely managed to make it to chapter two. There are tons of things that I could complain about, but this time I'm gonna keep it simple.

First things first, before I even got to the plot, the subpar quality of the translation made me stop and stare at the ceiling. I loathe bad grammar. However, no biggie, I've seen worse. So I carry on reading.

Then we get to the plot. I came here to read a story that would incorporate one of my favourite anime... more>> and manga series into its novel with some humour on the side. But, WTF dude? What the hell is this supposed to be? I cannot put my dislike into words. There are so many people rating it five stars, and I have NO F**KING CLUE WHY. It's... It's just so..... Stale. I cannot connect to the character, what's his name. Ren something. (I already forgot) He acts like he's in control of everything, even though the author made a point in telling us how very out of control he is. The same old cliche jokes were used in such a way that they weren't funny, and I'm seriously starting to get a headache whenever I try to predict what he's going to do next. Honestly, just don't read it. Such a waste of time. @UncleOddball, I'm sorry I didn't take your advice. <<less

Don't listen to any of these reviews they're just being idiots when the story hasn't even advanced enough to show all of it's potential, and to that guy who said he didn't have the one totem you're tottally wrong the latest chapter (4) shows he does, so before you run your mouth learn how to read.

If I'm going to read a wanky YY novel where the protagonist gets some Heavenly Cultivation Method, then that method may as well be Naruto's jutsu system!

Or at least that's what I thought... I had thought that since I was going in prepared for wanky (but mildly entertaining) bullsh*t I would be fine for whatever terrible writing lay ahead.
But the level of bad writing was completely beyond expectations. The author just plain has no idea how to write. He basically just throws in these events and antics and personality... more>> traits that he thinks makes the story cool and funny, but it just doesn't work out.

Normally, one of these typical junk food novels would have a flat protagonist who is ruthless against enemies, loyal towards friends, a big lecher, and a determinator. Unfortunately, the author hamfists these four traits in so badly that even simple 2-dimensional traits like that are unbelievable on him.
The interactions with that group of youngsters where Ren Tian You gets into some antic and everybody laughs ha ha ha is actually so cringeworthy that I had an easier time reading Watamote.

On my junk-food novel rating system of 0 to 5, I would give Stephanie Meyer's Twilight a 3.
This gets a 1, and that's only because I can't go lower.

Compared to this, MGA feels like a literary masterpiece filled with characters so life-like they feel like real life friends. You would do better just reading MGA or PMG.

tldr; You know how in anime you get those horribly clichéd scenes where the protagonist says something "shocking" or "revolutionary" (even though it isn't) and then the other guy goes from shock to laughter and joins the protagonist because of how "interesting" they are? Imagine that, but for the entire duration of this novel. <<less

I finish reading the raws and it's a pretty decent XianXia novel with naruto elements. Sure at first the MC seem to be really OP but the fight isn't one sided since the people in this world can live to millions of years. I personally liked the fight scene in this one. The Naruto elements is done well enough the Ninjustus and Taijustus that he use are all in the manga and he does actually need to train to use these skills, though he learns them really quickly but so does everyone else. Other than that the other XianXia elements are there and for the most part is what people tend to complain about in the reviews.

It's a short WN in Chinese standard so give it a try. It's decent enough.

I was kinda surprised when I started reading this novel. I started with a rather bad view on it from some reviews, and with how he gets the naruto system, but after reading a bit I started to like it.

The way he gets the random power isn't really all that different from the usually godly luck and deus ex machine a normal xianxia character. After I got past that, I enjoyed the story. The fights are rather interesting and it's cool to see him use the variety of Naruto powers against common xianxia abilities.

There are a few things I find rather annoying about it. The last few chapters 40-50 have been nothing but a large info dump. While the info is needed for world building, the author could of done a LOT better of a job.

The other thing that bugs me is that it doesn't seem like the author is actually keeping track of how many points he has to upgrade. Just recently he killed several thousand magical wolves (assumed to be tier 2-4) which should be worth several hundred thousand points. In addition to that, he's fought 2 major battles (didn't kill his opponent though) as well as killing several bodyguards of a high ranking noble. He didn't get points for any of them for some reason.
[collapse]

Gonna have to lower my score again. The story took its somewhat original idea and then shat on it with a bunch of common boring tropes.
Spoiler

He randomly meets a group of girls. Then he joins their academy and immediately goes into a f**king tournament arc.

[collapse]

F**k this story for getting me interested and then f**king it up right after.

Also. This story continually says the MCs full name every damn sentence. Instead of "John says hello, " it's "John Doe says hello." Every time it should mention the MC by his first name, it mentions him by his full name.

It makes it so cringeworthy to read. It's terrible. <<less

Not something I like, maybe some do but I feel it is just fan fulfillment rather than a well thought out story. Actually just feels like it's pandering to Naruto fans who want an even more OP character than the blonde MC from the manga and by itself is nothing.

I was almost fooled by UncleOddball and started reading only out of curiosity with belief I will make a review bashing this novel. However that guy is full of misconceptions and didn't even read past 2 chaps. MC does not start with mangekyo but one tear sharingan.
" MC is "handsome" otaku, a virg*n Japanese typical walking trope.
- MC is reborn in another world in a loser body trope. Check.
- Worst of it, he is a "handsome loser", who pick up girls like flowers. Yuck."

None of this is... more>> true and he needs to practice ninjutsu, only mangekyos are unlocked by points.

Still there are some inconsistencies as with all novels who use other works in them but that's minor stuff...

What bugs me most is the use of "Well" for no reason to start sentences and the lack of editor. What I like is awesome combat and sometimes the jokes are funny even though cliche. Side characters are meh but at least they have a story. All in all this novel surprised me and I recommend it to all Naruto/xianxia fans who don't mind a bit of bad grammar and aren't stuck up on facts from Naruto which aren't quite the same here.

Edit: I can't stand the lack of editor, sentences are like written by a 10yo (story might be written by a 13yo so not much difference there), reducing this from 3 to 2 stars and droping it <<less

Do you know what would have made this better? If you just cut out the middle man and just directly made this a Naruto fanfiction by having a "Naruto" character be reincarnated.

What is the appeal of having a character "reincarnating" to another in the first place?

If he's a modern Chinese person then it's his understanding of basic modern technology and science, from astrology to chemistry to geology to literature to music and so on. This is one element a majority of authors neglect for some reason especially with this story.

If... more>> he's a talented person, either an assassin, a swordsman, a martial artists, or whatever, then the sudden reversal of fortunes of the original loser-like host or even just the general awe of the people around the protagonist is what sparks that flame of interest. However, the characters are so distant and undeveloped in this story, their reactions are negligible.

If he's a person from the future then his foresight creates the twists and turns for the plot.

There's none of that in this story. Why bother with a joe-schmo reincarnation at all? Just bring over a "Naruto" character. Many people have noted how little the protagonist actually has to do with "Naruto." He's not even a real fan of the show. For that reason, he has no real connection to the myriad of abilities the story is throwing around. He's not Naruto, whose Rasengan was created by his father, he's not Kakashi, whose Chidori was completed with the Sharingan of his best friend. Imagine if you were reading "The Eagle Shooting Heroes" and your random protagonist just magically learned 18 Dragon Subduing Palms, Dog Beating Staff Technique, the Divine Flicking Skill, the Nine Yin Manual Techniques and everything else. Each technique has a long back story associated with it, which makes it special. This story trivializes all the fantastic abilities it's banking its backbone on. <<less

The start of the story was pretty good, but the MC/author keeps doing the same thing in every fight which gets REALLY tiresome..

It has some funny moments, but more than not it feels like the author is just throwing the MC some powers, random girl and some more forced plots..

Don't know whats all the hate, I mean this story is what naruto should have been, there is no filler and MC gets thing done, if you are a naruto fan I highly suggest reading it, the only problem was the sudden end. Author probably said lets just end it, so the ending is kind of meh but it gets thing done, MC gets his wish, PS I wished it was at least another 100-200 chapters longer : (

I don't know why this light novel getting so much hate it's really good in my opinion I mean who doesn't want a MC with a sharingan? Though, I do agree that he seems to be getting everything without training for it (except for the nature forming thing) but he also has to get use to using it otherwise it could may as well kill him. We also have to remember this novel is not complete unless you read the raw. From what I read I enjoyed it very much.

I can overlook the plot being the creation of a Naruto fanboy, so long as said plot is original and plays a prominent role on the story. This should be a given, but unfortunately that is not the case.

Rather than focusing on how the abilities the protagonist gains interact and are perceived in the world he finds himself in, the author instead spends far too much time describing the history of the various techniques which, even in this story, take place in a fictional world. This badly distorts the story's... more>> pacing and is entirely unneeded. Someone reading this story because they like Naruto will already know much of this information, and those readers who simply want to enjoy the story don't care.

The protagonist's goals also create a barrier that prevents the story from developing. Wanting vengeance against those who wrong him is fairly standard and easy to work with. Focusing on returning home, however, prevents the protagonist from making real, meaningful connections with other characters. Even when he recognizes someone as a friend, it always seems like a brittle, temporary friendship, as the protagonist intends to leave his current world entirely.

In summation, this is a story that fails to properly utilize an already-established cultivation system drawn directly from another work. It is written in a manner closer to an encyclopedia or wiki than an original tale. The character development is shallow and hindered by the protagonist's established goals. <<less

While this story is not a 5 Star Story, it is not as some people rate it a one Star Story. It is however a fun novel to read and you can only recommend it to others, while there are some inconsistencies in the Story, you do not have a MC who goes from weak to op in a day, as some reviewers wrote. It takes some time and quiete honestly this story is just different, so read it with an open mind.

What can I say that hasn't been said before? One thing is to steal the concept from other authors (plagiarism) and recycling it in at least an acceptable tale and another is to commit an extensive chain of crimes where plagiarism is the least offensive. The talent to write an interesting novel is so totally absent to the point of becoming a criminal offense to the mental integrity of readers of the genre. At the risk of insulting the intelligence of other readers, I'll point to an example by... more>> placing a question. Who in his sane mind would seek revenge for something done to a perfect stranger, even if you happen to occupy that stranger's body, with an almost all powerful clan?

Unless his mind was taken over by the host, which is never mentioned, can you tell me of one good reason for this revenge stance? Ahh crap, I'm off to see if another chapter of legendary moonlight sculptor is out. <<less

It's basically a weaboo/chuunibyou mash up. A college student living out his fantasies. Simple as that. I was expecting some HN1F comedy but it doesn't look like that kind of story or main character. I'm only giving it such high score coz I like the idea. It's a ripoff, not a great one but a fun one nonetheless. I recommend reading it when you're bored and have nothing to do. This is definitely not something you should follow seriously
