By far, the highlight of this novel is its character development. The relationship between Lucella and Kafel as parent and foster child is shown so naturally through the first volume and is extremely heart-warming. In addition there is a decent amount of action to still make it satisfying as an adventure novel. I would highly recommend through the first volume and am looking forward to see how it develops from there.

I just finished reading the first arc / volume and it's amazing, the world building is done spectacularly, the guild, the people presented are all different and have different personalities, they don't feel like robots... The relationship between the main character and the dragon develops really fast at the end of the first volume and it's really satisfying.

The only con in my opinion is that the battles are not that realistic? Hard to visualize? I don't know. But it didn't feel as immersive as the rest of the story.

The story itself is good. I would have give it full five stars if author choose to focus on the story and not attempt at sub-par world building.

This is another story where humans are the weakest and lowest of low that everyone look down on but every strong non-humans hypocritically have a human form.

And the whole world revolve around the particular monster specie that the protagonist become a part of. Dragons in this case.
