Dentist Ai Jing Chu, who also teaches at Donghu University, is known to be the most handsome man at school.

University librarian Zeng Li, however, is prejudiced against him because of a little misunderstanding.

When Zeng Li’s mother forces her to get braces, she tries to avoid Ai Jing Chu at all costs, but eventually still ends up becoming his patient. As the two interact more and more with each other, Zeng Li realizes that Ai Jing Chu is actually a very professional and caring person, and starts to develop feelings for him.

Ma Yi Yi and Wu Ying are Zeng LI’s best friends whose life also undergoes change due to Deng Hao Ran and Liu Yu Cheng respectively

I think I understand why some ppl rate this low and some high. I came because there is a review that said this is sweet. But, after I read, I become impatient, this is not sweet that I like. This novel is more like a slow burn that really slow QAQ (the ML n FL only got together in last 10 chapter, for godsake!!), and what I search is sweet from the start or slowburn but with hot spices (example : hidden love novel). And this... more>> novel dont give me that, for me this novel taste like bland slow burn but tasty in the end.

But, overall this novel is really good. Unfortunately, I came with the wrong mood :' ( <<less

This is a sweet and short novel. I mtled it, and adored every bit of the simple and cute interactions between the couple. The drama was enjoyable as well. Translator, please keep uploading!

I don’t know why the ratings are so low, but this is one of my favourite novels by this author (she also wrote My one and only love).

I’ve re-read it many times- it follows the story of a librarian, our FL, who goes to get braces and meets the dentist, our ML.

What the ML doesn’t know is that the FL actually knows him due to something that happened long ago. As their worlds collide, they get to know each other more and discover each other’s pasts.

It’s a kind of story... more>> I’d describe as being like a ‘water flow.’ It’s slow, gentle, and eventually we get to the end filled with warmth. Their love is like that too. I hope people give it a chance, although I read it raw so not sure if the translations are any good. <<less

A really short and sweet story like honestly it isn't a 5 but giving it a 4 felt wrong. So I guess if you want a short and sweet love story that has little drama this one is suitable.

It was good.

I had to be patient for the first few chapters to pick up the plot. But after it did, I enjoyed the romance quite a bit.

Zeng Li was so relatable. She is one of those female leads that are quiet and shy but not without their own quirks and habits.

... more>> At first, I thought Ai Jing Chu was going to take the cold and indifferent male lead route. But he changed my impression of him very soon. He carried the fluffy aspect of this novel on his back.

The romance between the leads were fluff but I guess, it just wasn't enough for me.

It also had its comedic elements. When the jokes landed, it gave me full-belly laughs. But other than this, the plot seemed pretty lackluster. It didn't even give me the Slice of Life vibes.

So, overall it was average for me. But it can also be because of my own personal taste. Maybe it would work out for someone else. I enjoyed reading this short novel nonetheless. A good bingeworthy novel. <<less

This is a sweet good short story, I dont know why people give low ratings.. Can be read without much stress. I have watched drama first. I liked drama thats why I gave this a chance. Its a sweet story of librarian and dentist.

It's the kind of story I love. Not too much sentimental but full of subtle emotions. I cried several times for Zeng Li for her lost first love. But fortunately there was Ai Jing Chu.

The only lacking is the synopsis - which is much better outlined in the translator site.

Waiting for more releases from this author.

This story really made my mood went up and down several times during the reading. It wasn't because the story was angsty but because it felt so... complicated. MC's heart was complicated and so was ML, probably because their bitter past. I was drown by their struggle until I could finally see the light. Thankfully, the story was short but somehow, I also felt that it wasn't enough, especially moments after MC and ML got together.
