I love it. I absolutely love it. Characters are properly fleshed out and have their own personalities. The main character is realistic and easy to connect to. The story and politics are well thought out and do not feel like something the author spent five minutes to come up with.

But fellow Daoist how can you only rate 3/5 if you love it?

Combat and action scenes are disappointing at best and usually boring and confusing. Arcs drag on and on and on while having a tendency to lack a climax. It's not that there's filler everywhere, but that the author seems to want to string the arcs together continuously, so when you expect a climax to finally approach you are instead presented with the start of a new arc. And lastly, the pacing is glacial. To give an example from the start to chapter 495 I'm fairly certain that 8-9 months have passed in the story. 4/5 Rating primarily based on the fact that I think this author has a sophisticated writing style, the translation quality is good, and the beginning of the novel is quite strong. This novel does have flaws but it is still worth a read and the reader should make their own decisions. The good:

1. The writing of the author and the translation is quite good. You can tell from the text that the author has good literary skills. The descriptions of settings are good, the characters are interesting, there's also a certain level of mystery, intrigue, romance, great dialogue.
2. The general premise of an MC with an OP power that is persecuted by the world and but only wants to protect his loved ones and live in peace is a cliche one but due to the quality of the writing it really tugs at the reader's heart and makes you root for the MC all the time.

The bad:

1. The author blatantly built up a large group of women who love the MC and teased a harem for hundreds of chapters but the MC only married on woman. I'm fine with monogamy if the MC clearly shows interest in one women or maybe two in a love triangle. But this MC likes a lot of women and fights for them but only ends up with one, this is a bait and switch I can't support. The MC destroyed an entire clan for revenge but kept one princess of the clan alive because he liked her but didn't marry her. The MC crashed the wedding of another girl of another major clan because he liked her and stole the bride but didn't marry her. The MC is a dragon god basically, there is a girl who has the powers of the phoenix god who loves/hates him and often fights him in the beginning but later protects and fights for him. He also likes her but didn't marry her. The MC has a beautiful sister and they love each other a great deal, its later revealed through some weird clan stuff that they are not related so could have married but didn't. There's a princess of a kingdom who had a conflict with the MC but later through interacting with him finds him to be smart, loyal, attractive, etc. She even sided with the MC and betrayed her own royal family and evil clans for MC's revenge. But he doesn't marry her.
2. There is basically no cultivation in the novel. The MC uses his dragon god powers to fight against supreme experts several realms of cultivation above him when he has basically zero cultivation. The MC also has the memories of a dragon god and is perfect in everything he does including art, music, calligraphy, debate, reasoning, comprehension, etc.

One of the Most intelligently written novel, though there may be a few conveniences for the MC it still is one of the most realistic novel I have seen. This is a mixture of political and classic cultivation novel.

Currently I saw the whole novel from the original version passed by translator. I had several things that were not "understood" but knowing in advance the names of the characters, substitute some things and...

Well, leaving said so, I pass my opinion of the novel. It is really worth seeing and left me wanting more.

My first impression was that it was a somewhat "abrupt" novel to start directly saying about the weaknesses and weakness of the prota to show the first chapters their explosive strength increasing. This had made me want... more>> to read it... But continue and, I do not think.

The character of Li Muyang, as such is tragic, but his growth as a person is noticeable and has good progression. Neither I made the attempt to read with the translator I found out when I read more than 10-20 chapters in less than two hours.

It's a pity that the final prologue was a little short, only explained a little of their future plans and... little more. If someone read this.

Novel is good but have some qualms on some point but its typically can be observed on most chinese novel. Exaggerated words but turn out ordinary to describe many things. Like trying to sales talk a product.

Exaggerated strength but turns out the race was massacered. (How can a single dragon avenge his clan if he can't protect them before like "DUH").

Exaggerate someones beauty and turns out someone is much more beautiful that them.

Started off interesting and it is different than most cultivation novels as it more focuses on the journey than on cultivation, but in my opinion, after 450 chapters, so little has happened, and so much was mentioned yet unexplained, while the author focused on silly and trite conversations and descriptions of completely irrelevant characters never to be seen again (so far I mean). Out of all the Main Characters I've read about I like him the most. He seems to act how I would imagine a regular person in his place would act, and not just always know the right answers to things and for everything to just fall into his lap with ease, and if they do I think he deserves it. He's been through hell in my opinion.
