I was reborn as a princess in the world an otome game with memories of my previous life.

Wait, what? I’m the Heroine’s love rival? You’re kidding! I have no intention of falling in love with any of those pathetic guys, because the one I like is a support character, the Commander of the Royal Knights.

Except the Heroine, after being reincarnated in this shitty game where the support characters are way better than the love interests, is threatening to bring down my own life with flags, and I am determined to strike them down.

A rather cute series... it might have a problem with pacing and tonal shift occasionally to becoming super serious randomly for a whole block of chapters... but its still quite enjoyable

even WITH the tropes and cliches and templates and a bit of fanservice, this is somewhat enjoyable, or rather those are used slightly in a tasteful manner.

i think even non-shoujo fans can enjoy something like this...

I’m torn, this has some interesting premises but the MC is way to immature for her actual age and usually just acts like her reincarnated age and that really annoys me. It is also reverse harem, which I don’t mind, but wtf, she is like 10 years old and her love interests, especially the main one, are all older, up to 20 years older to be exact. That gives way too much loli vibes. Also she has no female friends, everyone around her is a guy.

For example the two sorcerer... more>> guys who have the hots for her, they are 13 so I can understand their interests in girls, but with 13 I was interested in girls my age or older and not the least in “flat chested” younger girls, they were little kids for me.

The otome part is that almost all love interests have their “quirks” like being a masochist, yandere or siscon unless she breaks those flags, however they usually develop new ones making them all unattracive for me as a reader, nonetheless.

The basic idea of the story is that she got reincarnated into an otome game world and changes things from the get go to avoid the red and death flags but by doing so the story changes completely leaving her clueless of what usually would happen.

Also she has no powers whatsoever but is just a defenseless little girl. There is some magic in the world but she can’t use it, she also can’t fight at all. In the end, the action is done by others and has nothing to do with her. That makes the story a bit boring for me cause I don’t really care about the “harem guys” and reading a chapter with their experiences and fights. They are all to shallow without any depths, they just have that one quirk as character trait and that was it.

I haven’t decided yet if I will read further, maybe when I don’t have anything else to read. <<less

This story is pretty good for the characters, but I'm not a fan of the romance and age gap. Please don't listen to the people saying, oh that was common historically - NO it was not common for a princess to marry and HAVE KIDS at 12. Yes engagements could be very early but they were political things, marriage and childbirth wasn't expected in early puberty for god's sake. And for common people, they often didn't marry until their 20's as they knew they had to save up to support... more>> kids. Sometimes I wonder where people learn history, or they just see these justifications and accept them. Not to mention, this is a fantasy story with lots of historical inaccuracy, there is NO good reason to keep 'child romance/marriage' as a thing even if it was historically accurate.

Anyways, the characters and relationships are good, but I don't like how she starts SO young - she's only 5 when the story starts. I don't get why she couldn't start at 10, and then when she meets her favourite she would be at least almost a teenager... it's just weird the way it is written, how they both have 'warm' moments together when she's frickin 10-11.

At first I thought maybe it was necessary from a plot perspective, but after reading a lot I don't see the reason at all. It does make it make more sense how she's not told much and everyone tries to keep her from 'the action' though, because she's literally a small child. Maybe it was for that? But they could still do that if she was a few years older. And it wouldn't feel so weird how the other characters are romantically interested in her. <<less

I had first come across this novel when I was just starting out reading light novels and web novels in general. So years ago when I first read this, I couldn't help but giving this novel a drop since then I couldn't really understand what was going on. All I knew was that back then I hated severe conflict, or severe hatred shown towards the protagonist, so I remember looking on this novel with a negative opinion.

But after having read thousands of light/web novels later, with my favorite mainstream being... more>> in isekai and female otome isekai, I can now properly say that this has become my new #1 favorite novel in terms of the female isekai genre. Here are some aspects this novel features:

  • Proper story flow from start to (currently) ongoing
  • Features adventure story arcs
  • No brain dead characters
  • Plenty of comedic moments
  • Plenty of world building, with constant references to Kingdom structures and everyday lives of citizens in the isekai world
  • Features characters that show their utmost loyalty towards those whom they dedicated to serve
  • There is currently a lack of romance, as it's still centered around harem aspect. But I hope there will be a core route soon.
But most importantly...

  • The "villainess" aka protagonist of this novel, is not overly obsessed with the otome game's predetermined endings.
Where after having reading terrible female isekai like Bakarina, Rosemarie is the type that likes to take charge of her own life which was yet again refreshing to see. While she does make use of the game's endings to divert the future to whatever she can, she doesn't become overly obsessed with the game's predetermined ending to the point where she becomes mentally ill. More importantly, Rosemarie IS NOT dense! She just chooses to avoid "certain" things. She knows what she wants, which also means she knows who she wants to marry folks! What is this?! *gasp*

But with that, concludes my short review on this novel. I can't wait to see how the future arcs will turn out. <<less

Came back here to look for new chapters.😭😭 What happened??Why are there no mass releases? There's only 1-3 chaps in this year (2022) alone 😭

I forgot the specifics after I stopped reading last year. I have to get back and start again but overall, I remember it as a pretty stress free read with cute and competent MC and rather convincing MLs/bishounen. Not much conflict going on cause she's an OP MC, but the world and character build up are amazing

This is one of my favourite otoge reincarnation novels.

The characters are cute and the story starts reasonably early without cramming too much stuff into early childhood years with no plot left over.

The writing is pretty good and the story is appropriately challenging to the MC (as opposed to others that are near impossible and only work through Deus Ex Machina or have an OP MC that can trailblaze the plot, not that I don't enjoy the latter kind if it has other content than the main plot line).

For me, reading... more>> about how the personalities of the game's characters grow away from their twisted nature in the game's original settings is a somewhat cathartic experience.

It's worth noting that the actual school arc / demon lord revival stuff still hasn't happened and likely won't happen for quite a while from now, and since there's quite a large age difference between the MC and her main romantic interest, there's also not as much sweet seeping romance as in some other novels with similar premises. If those aren't things you expect to have happen in the first 150 (probably 200 or more) chapters, I think this novel can be quite enjoyable. <<less

It's a cute story and for her not to go with the capture targets but eith the side ones. But it worries me a bit with their age difference appearance wise. But I hope all goes well.

Its a really good story though lately the story feels a bit slow then again this is the web novel soo... Anyway points that I like:

    • The MC is not overly OP but not a weak crybaby either.
    • Characters are nice though they may disappear for a few or so chapters.
    • The personalities of the characters are unique unlike your typical otome game reincarnation novel.
However, for people whom does not like really slow romance they may not like it.

Spoiler

But I swear if she ends up with Leonard (>_<) (>_<) >. Right now she likes him but...I think she'll change her mind eventually. I mean he is not a confirmed male lead and there is much better men out there for her.

It's okay, it's going to be a very slow story. Still no romance if you are looking for that kinda thing. If you want something different from the usual then this is good. If you want to binge read however at this point in time it is impossible. It probably wont be finished for a good number of years.

The theme is indeed as mentioned a bit.. However, the reincarnated lady, who tries her hardest in a cute way, who has an adult-innocence and grows during the story. She is a character who bring light out of people. Even though it is a reverse harem story. This is a story where the reincarnated character still keeps the image of a child. So she grows while she gets older. Not only is she growing through the story, she also experiencing how to be a proper princess. To be responsible in... more>> a sensible way. Experiencing how helpless children really can be. Help is needed from others, we do not leave alone, we live togheter.

I thought of this story as one of the cutest. She is smart, but not in all aspects (jup a blockhead), she is lovely, and her naivety is endearing and gives a mushy feeling in a postive way. Thank you for translating this story! <<less

It is going great. Very promising. Very lively and likable characters and so much to look forward to. Story itself is a new take on transmigration and incarnation plots. It is more rich and expandable than other scheming and plotting of the inner palace type stories under transmigration tag.

the MC was reincarnated from a game that she found worse than anything because of the love targets' personality. Determined to change the history of the future, as well as pursuing his love interest that she couldn't get in the game, she tried to do her best. There is a foreshadowing of the future development of the story in the prologue. At first, the story is fluffy and then, it is getting darker and redundant in the recent chapter (chapter 41.) the personality of the MC is kind of blockhead,... more>> stubborn, cute, and persistent for herself and people around her began to change the personality, unlike from the original game. Looking forward to the ending of this. <<less

A lot of good ideas, but the author's writing style is too messy for my liking. He constantly feels the need to narrate things that would be best left unsaid and instead of foreshadowing he pretty much just tells you outright, multiple times.

For the first half, I struggled to tell the difference between a lot of the characters but I'm currently in the middle and it's a lot better now. Overall I really like the core cast of characters but again, the actual writing hurts their image. Maybe it's just... more>> the translation, who knows.

Overall, I give it a 3.5, but if this ever got an anime adaptation then it would be a 4.5 for me. It has strong characters and good world building but the writing simply isn't up to par. <<less

99% plot. 1% romance.

albeit it is slightly cliche, however all characters have their charms including the MC. But please donnt come for the romance! The plot and characters are it’s charm.

Wow, that was soooo cute^^

It was a lovely story although the MC's character may seem way too good to be true in reality but personally I think these sort of character exist not only to add spice to the story, but in order to deliver a message to the readers to improve their morale. So, I don't hate them and it's not like she's perfect either so that's certainly a bonus.

As for the romance bet. The MC and and Leon, although some may find their difference in age distasteful, in... more>> the setting of the story, their age difference is not much of an issue as in old times even 12 years old is a completely acceptable age to marry and have children. And since in this setting, arranged marriage is still pretty much a norm, even expected at times, their age difference is actually acceptable.

In a nutshell, I have no problem with this story's plot and honestly love the story.

So, to anyone looking 4 cute fluffy story, I highly recommend this story? <<less

I thought this was going to be a lighthearted novel and well, I guess at the start it was. Then it had an unexpected turn which really made me like it. I like that the MC isn't super OP and just rather normal. (Except that she is too nice and is like "Why are you helping me?" when she did so much for them.)

One thing though, I don't like Leonhard. He is a nice guy but I don't want him to end up with Rose. I much prefer Lutz,... more>> Georg or Klaus. I mean the guy isn't that good and the age gap is ENORMOUS.

So I'm just begging in my heart please not Leonhard...

Well maybe the novel isn't that great but, I absolutely love it. I binge read to chapter 112 in like one day. <<less

I'm well and truly hooked. The otoge villainess isekai genre has ups and downs, and this is one of the few up up and ups! It's quality both translation and writing wise, providing a provoking look into otoge as a whole while keeping the protagonist (Rose) relatable and not mere overpowered vindictive wish fulfillment. Plus, the love interests are all interesting and the take on them being flawed outside of any obsessive love for the protagonist, even the side characters, is very welcome. The father of the protagonist is an... more>> interesting new take too! <<less
