Galactic Dark Net

When the last prodigy level esper on Earth disappeared, Earth was in deep trouble of becoming another species’ colony. The ordinary Han, with his intelligence and hardworking character, was able to make a fortune after “accidentally” stepping into the world of dark net, later purchasing an esper power crystal that brought him the ultimate power that changed the fate of the universe.

Dark net is a subset of the Deep Web that is not only not indexed by traditional search engines, but that also requires special tools like specific proxy or authentication to gain access. Dark net is not restricted by any law or morals, so the dark net market has everything that is prohibited by the law. Drugs, s*aves, firearms, uranium, bioweapons, rare animals, human testing, assassination, and the list goes on. During the year of 2075 on Earth, Han Lang logged into the largest hyperspace dark net market, and our story begins.

***edit*** author just decided to drop the series with the most ridiculous excuse ever.... deeply disappointed... probably I will drop reading as well, no point....
3* from me...
***edit end***

I rate is 5* but there're issues...

First of all, so far this is not creepy teen drama novel. So those that hate romance filled tr*sh novels, you are in the right place. The author usually keeps the topic on the actual story and less sidetrack to unrelated nonsense filler moments. Usually you see some progress in each chapter.

This novel is... more>> about a Chinese guy who will venture into galactic struggles, star wars theme environments. You will see laser weapons, space battle ships, armor suits, drugs, pirates, mercenaries, raiders, etc.. So it is kind of mix of everything, nicely put together.

Overall I like the story, this author, like IET or Er Gen, doesn't go on and on and on s*upid filler ecchi garbage stuff. The story will mainly focus on training, power up, adventure, ruin explorations, some beast fighting. I believe the story is still trying to introduce itself, I don't think all the cards are out yet unlike Doulou Dalu (sorry DD fans). In DD you basically from very early now who is good guy, who is bad guy and that's it. GDN is still introducing itself.

The translation quality is good, but there're a LOOOOOOT of inconsistencies in numbers. One chapter you will see one number, next chapter it will be different. Very annoying tbh, hope translator goes back and fix all those issues.

My biggest problem with this novel is that, the author is racist sometimes. Portraying Chinese as superior whenever there's a chance. One time it says, Chinese are very picky when it comes to food. COME ONNNNNN, everybody knows that Chinese eat anything that moves. This is not insult, but a mere fact. Why the hell author even mention like this when Chinese eat bugs, rats, cats, dogs, etc... This is part of Chinese cuisine, I have nothing against it but this is not what "picky" means, at least to me.

Anywho, overall great novel (excluding racist stuff), I like it so far and will continue reading. Hopefully story will escalate into galactic scale and racism will disappear. <<less

Well, as stories listed on here go, this one is slightly better than most, but honestly, that's not really saying a whole lot. What it has going for it is the setting, which is pretty original. There are, however, several negatives: Immediate and massively OP MC. Nothing new there. MC, a teenager, immediately gets involved in the dark net, and is okay with the stuff he sees on it ie: s*avery, drugs, torture, r*pe, etc. He goes from kid to underworld netizen in an afternoon. Way too many windfalls. He... more>> complains that everything is so hard but not 5 minutes later it seems like things fall into his lap. Multiple times.
of course, like most stories in this genre it contains the usual sexism, xenophobia, etc. Though it's not nearly as bad as in others.

Overall, it's an okay story for what it is when compared to the rest of the bunch. <<less

This is a very blood boiling story, the background environment is very vast, since its depict a lot of galaxies.

The one that I love the most is about the patriotic side of the MC, And how the author emphasize heavily on the patriotic feeling, Most of the protagonist is a manly man that wont hesitate to sacrifice themselves for really patriotic cause, and if its not makes your blood boils then I don't know what can.

Just read the novel, and I think you will enjoy it as much as I... more>> have. <<less

I like this novel I think it has some really nice ideas, especially in the beginning (really early part of the story) Of course it also has it shortcomings:

To be honest you will see lot of reviewer say "There is no gun omg" and true so far there is no gun presence but I don't get why they are acting like sci-fi elements "MUST" have guns in it what the heck a story about esper dark beast, galactic dark web and from all of that what shock them is actually... more>> a lack of gun?!

It is a little dark and some stuff make one stop for a minute (which is actually good) but the story has its flaws the fact that the MC gets his power kind of easily is a bad point the character development is also a bit lacking but this is Chinese novel so...

I recommend reading it, it actually is one of the few novels related to futur /sci fi that we have so it will be refreshing no matter what (I meant that we have in Chinese novel translated) and it is a nice story well written not without flaws but they can be forgiven. <<less

Great story. Defiantly worth the read. Futuristic and modern elements are refreshing and tastefully introduced. My favourite novel at the moment and the one I want to binge through the most.

This is brilliant. At first I was a bit put off by the description of Galactic Dark Net or GDN, but after getting past the twisted nature of it I got excited.

The MC might be a bit generic, but he isn’t s*upid and he has morals. A true citizen of earth. The idea is brilliant and was executed nicely. The story is amazing and moves at a nice pace. I can’t wait till becomes a bigger figure than he is now in GDN.

I find it refreshing that he doesn't... more>> hate humanity, loves earth, and wishes to help others. And when I say refreshing... I mean refreshing.

Besides the underlying dark nature of the story, I find no other personal or generic problems. In fact if you don’t count my personal issue with GDN I’d say the story is gold (so ignore my earlier statement).

Hope you read. ;-) <<less

EDIT : Downgrading this novel to a 3.5. There was a time where I was current with the latest RAW for this, but I stopped reading new chapters. The problem was that after a while, the novel pretty much dispensed with what made it unique (access to a dark net, relatively underpowered except for cancelling abilities and making up for it with wits and help from the dark net), and turned into the usual xianxia level up style novel.

It would have been ok if the level up was... more>> done well, but the MC just so happens to get an OP martial arts skill and... well... I kinda lost interest.

Currently up to Ch 78 in the RAWs (getting by with machine translation)
Spoiler

There are some areas at the start that are a bit spotty, but after a while the story just takes you along for a ride. It may just be me, but I'm finding this novel a refreshing change of pace from the usual Xianxia novels I've been reading. The sci-fi aspect is interesting, the intergalactic intrigue doesn't feel too forced.

The MC himself is a bit generic, nothing in his personality really stands out for now. I'd still really recommend this novel nonetheless.

The writer lacks imagination, some concepts are half thought through and unnecessary. Like splitting the world into “divisions” and then still using the real world county names- then why not just say country? As with most Cnovels it can’t be complete without the xenophobia/ stereotypes, in the first few chapters the bad guys/ criminals are black men even though they are from another planet and they collaborated with the Russians *side eye* like really dude? This sh*t gets old. Also thee MC just turned 16 with zero military training, never... more>> even been in a fight and somehow is able to led a bunch of military veterans to defeat enemies from other planets. The writer is so lazy they didn’t even try to make the story line plausible at all. Haha. <<less

It starts out well enough. Reminds me of reading an Er Gen/Tang-san/Silkworm Potato story. Interesting beginning with rules on cultivation that the MC starts breaking consistently after he reaches the 3rd or 4th level. At first the battles are interesting, but they eventually devolve into battles of pure word puke where the author just rambles on nonsensically while making up reasons why the MC is suddenly stronger. In spite of that, I originally wanted to give it 3 stars anyway, but I started getting really tired of the series around... more>> 300 and skipped to the end to take a look, only to find out that
Spoiler

the author tossed out one of those "no ending" endings with an excuse about why he didn't want to write it. I guess I can kind of understand since he was already butchering his own story by chapter 300, which is why I was getting tired of it. He must have really screwed it up from 300-470 if he couldn't even give it an ending.

So, I gave it 1 star. <<less

The Author called it an ending but it's obvious that he just dropped this as he never answer a bunch of the questions he brings up throughout the story trying to make it all mysterious. All the BS mystery is just his trick to get you to continue reading for more view but he never had an answer to them in the first place. The guy basically got like 3/4 into the story and dropped it saying to use your imagination for the rest call this the ending. The ending... more>> was just basically MC:"next stop is last boss I guess everyone?" THE END <<less

A world where advanced technology and the supernatural intermix. Reminds me a lot of "Toaru Majutsu no Index", whilst incorporating some typical Chinese characteristics. However as the story goes on, besides not shying away from illegal activities, the MC comes across more & more as a "Gary Stu". Experiencing numerous coincidences, to conveniently escape dire situations. Yet this amateurishly written novel, still manages to be an enjoyable read, until its abrupt end.

In short the novel is average, but one the higher side of it.

The premise is truly interesting, as most novels retain a common thread throughout the story to link back to it, the use of the Galactic Dark Net was interesting and I for once had never read a similar idea.

Now there are a multitude of things to criticise starting with the fact that the novel is rather simple in its ambition till chapter 200 and does it well as I found it pleasant and entertaining but than degrades to a grotesquely convoluted plot with a variety of new complex elements such as races, new systems, new entities, such as (star gods) and so forth all inn the span of a dozen chapters. This for a 470 chapter novel is an absurdity as it just seems badly complied at the end.

Overall I feel that the author carefully thought out the novel up until the end of the “Witch” arch and then ultimately just wrote along without a clear plan as things just randomly started popping up. For novels which span 1500 ch. The sudden appearance might work as you have time to develop it but in this one it just complicated it for no apparent reason.

On the upside the positive points, although badly applicator, are many. The permanence in relevance of the Galactic Dark Net was great, I loved station 9527 and all the interactions that happened within. Although the author took a risky move dabbling with pharmacology, genetics and engineering, it never went too specific in trying to create a new biological system and so forth, which is good because it gave enough info to imagine but not an info dump of made up physics, like forty millennium of cultivation often does.

Overall I feel the novel is average but purely because of the apparent immaturity of the writer, which presented a fantastic premise and executed it decently till chapter ~230 and than it went down to an amateurish work where new elements need to be introduced to keep the story going.

Thanks to the translators tough as they did a great job both with the steady release and the work itself.

Decently well written story. Fairly typical of it's genre in many respects (the protagonist picks up the magical 'insert object' and heads off to become an OP god surrounded by his harem)

Most of the characters are stereotypes as is standard, but the characters are at least distinct. The girls are becoming more indistinct, but that's again a product of the genre.

I still have an issue in this genre, though, due to explaining why girls like the protagonist. How scummy does a man have to be to require explanations for... more>> girls liking him? That's the kind of conversation for people dating drug lords, not someone who just saved your life. Liking your savior should not come as a surprise. (The chauvinism doesn't help either.) <<less

I've read everything, and I only read for the enjoyment, I don't like to get really deep into novels and nit pick everything. So personally, I really enjoyed the story, unfortunately the ending cuts off suddenly cos the author cant write an ending that everyone can enjoy, so he told us to imagine it ourselves, which is kinda bullsh*t but at the same time I see myself doing it too. So all in all, I'd rate 5 stars, one of the better novels I've read.

This novel is just seriously ret*rded. The only thing interesting and worthwhile here is the premise, after that? Logic? Gets thrown out of the window. Story? Basically cliche. Battles? BORING.

Frankly, im surprised to have lasted this far by reading this piece of garbage. The MC is just some wannabe hero, like ffs he's so moronic.

A example of how illogical this is,

... more>> 1. Small time space pirates can just stroll to Earth whenever they want, like it's their backyard. SERIOUSLY Earth doesn't have any national or global protection AGAINTS IT?

2. So a f*ckin strength based esper, carries a bronze statue and sacrifices himself by throwing himself and the statue right of a building to immobilize a enemies space ship? LOGIC? Why coudn't he just have thrown the statue????

3. F*ckin "space pirates" use swords, knifes n shit. THEY DON'T use guns or modern weapons? Logic?

Overall the story is garbage and overhyped. Wished the ratings could go lower than 1/5. <<less

In the distant future, intelligence took the ret*rded route. The surrealism was utter shite, but I f-ing lost it when the story took a more serious path.

Spoiler

Cause making an index is too damn difficult... In a world of f*cking AI, the MC achievement is creating a derivative app that trawls a forum in the darknet, NOT the darknet itself, but a single forum... Did the author even realize how technologically challenged he sounded?

There's more where that came from: the f*cking space pirate with a fixed address, an ambush that human-waved 15k combatants to assault a f*cking base of much superior force...

This novel was one of best I red but I won't give even one star because author dropped novel....

This novel had amazing idea and was really enjoyable to read but
-many things in story could be done in more chapters
-this is clearly unfinished story!! Just shortened to 470 chapters if author wanted we could have even 800 or 900/or even more chapters instead of 470
-terrible rushed ending, I don't know from when but from some point maybe around 350 chapter or so he rushed it sooo much
-some things mainly about world building of was described very briefly especially things concerning eath federation after migration to the... more>> twin horse galaxy and power building, conquering another galaxies or so....
-not good romance we could tell it openly - romance is terrible in this novel. In some point author tries to make it as polygamy but failing so far

And now some good points
-unique story
-excellent combination of sci-fi, fantasy and cultivation genres
-interesting world building and parts around earth federation where federation was growing from weak to strong (but as I told before these parts were very short unfortenatelly)
-good MC
-presonally liked heroine probably heroines Ye Weiwei/Luo Ying and Jian Jia <<less

It starts off similar to many other martial arts stories, but with a more interesting setting, and an amusing silliness at times.

Unfortunately, the plot takes a bit of a nosedive, when suddenly the ancient evil threatening the galaxy is destroyed instantly for nonsense reasons, the existing setting is tossed out, and the hero starts leading a tribe in the wilderness. It seems a lot like the author gave up on it and wanted to wrap it up.

While it starts off decent and has some interesting premises, it quickly diverges into a massive side story away from the original background. This is alright, as it gives more time for the character to build up, however it happens way too quickly. Then once it kicks off it focuses on showing off how ridiculous the next enemies that the main character has to face are, then makes up something the main character knew and readers had never heard of.
